  1. I turned on my line 6 spider IV 75 watt amplifier today and all the lights on the various amp settings clean red' 'clean green' e.t.c are all lit up at the same time. Even the additional effects and the orange display in the top right just blinks and makes no progress in turning on. Usually the colours for the amp setting are either red or green, but the left side of settings is yellow and the other half is green? Is this supposed to tell me that there is a problem with the amp? I have tried the factory reset, turned it on and off multiple times, even waited longer to see if it turns on and nothing. In desperate need of some help with this as I called Line 6 and my nearest repair shop is quite far and in an area I don't know too well. Thankyou for taking the time to read this.
  2. Hey guys, I was trying to make a tone sounding just like that of the tone of reflections. i am aware that the currently are using 500x's and was wondering if anyone had any info on their patches and so forth. please help. thanks.
  3. Hi! I have a problem in my HD500X with exp toe switch- he doesn't works... Please, help me! It's new, I bought it 2 weeks ago :(
  4. I have noticed recently when playing that in a certain position my expression pedal seems to have a dead spot. What's the best way to remedy this please?
  5. Hello, Recently, I brought my first Line6 system (POD Studio GX) and I am experiencing troubles trying to set it up. I have completed the set up of POD Farm which seems to be working fine. My problem is that whenever I plug in the box used for plugging in your guitar lead (I apologise for not knowing what it's called) into the computer, a little box appears saying 'Found New Hardware'. It has three options, 'Locate and install driver software (reccommended)', 'Ask me again later' and 'Don't show this message again for this device.' I have clicked on the first option and it then asks me to insert the disk that came with the GX (in order for it to search the disk for driver content (?)), so I inserted my POD Farm disk. After reading it, it says that it can't find the driver software. Even after 'searching the web for a solution,' I am still unable to use the 'box' for the program or any use. I would be very grateful for a reply which helps me, Thank you.
  6. I recently purchased a GAP Pre73 MKII and a Shure SM7. I'd like to use both of these to record vocals through my POD HD500, but I'm a little confused as to the proper way to set this up. Here's what I'm doing: My SM7 is going into the Pre73's Mic In via an XLR cable, and then the Pre73's output is going through a balanced TRS cable to the POD's Aux in. I read in the manual that the Aux In is unbalanced. Will this negatively affect my signal, or if I use a balanced TRS cable, will the signal stay balanced? Is there a better way to set this up, or a special configuration I need to use? When I connect the SM7 to the POD directly, via XLR to the POD's Mic In, the level in my DAW seems great and the mic is sufficiently loud (and the SM7 is a notoriously quiet mic). When I use my aforementioned setup, the level in my DAW is very low, even though I have both knobs on my Pre73 cranked to max. This has led me to believe I am doing something wrong. For what it's worth, I am using high-quality Mogami cables. As a somewhat-related sidenote, is it possible to run my Pre73 as part of an "fx loop"? Would there be a benefit to this? I'd like to use the Pre73 to warm up my bass and I figure that could be a way to do it, or should I simply plug the bass into the Pre73, and then the Pre73 into the POD? Thanks for reading this and thanks for the help. The world of pro audio sometimes befuddles my brain, so I really appreciate it.
  7. HELP: Is there any way I can reformat the system in my Line6 HD300 I bought a faulty Line6 HD300 (Blank Screen but with power) Apparently this thing got broken when updating the HD300 (The internet connection got cut out while in the middle of the updating process) Is there any way I can reformat the system. Thank you! :D
  8. Hey, So bought a new Line 6 Variax 700. Love the tones. But when i connected it to my workbench i've had a strange problem. First let me explain how i connected it. Variax 700 electric to my pod xt live using a rj45 cable. Then, via usb to the computer. I have updated all my firmwares and software. Now, heres the strange thing. My guitar is detected via the pod xt live perfectly, but when i try to change a tuning the fret board works upside down. Eg. When i drop my lowest (6th string) To a D in order to make it a drop D tuning, it changes my highest string (The high E or 1st string) to a D. While the easy and obviously way to get over this is just find out how many frets to drop each string by. There is another issue. When i drop my highest string in the software (which is my lowest string in real life) The note doesnt transpose properly. I.e. it misses the note and buzzes and stuff like that. What is the problem. I'm pretty sure that if i fix my fretboard being upside down in the software, it'll fix the problem. P.S. I've reinstalled the firmwares and drives and tried the same thing on my laptop as well as desktop. PLEASE HELP! :( :( Thanks in advance.
  9. I love the tube gain effect and the screamer and the fuzz! Honestly all of the stomp box distortion fx have something to offer but no matter how I adjust through gain/drive, master/channel volume, the gain fx always have a drop in volume when switched on, compared to the clean tone. I've tried setting them to Post instead of pre and that certainly boosts the volume quite a bit but it sounds awful, pre sounds great. I love being able to switch between clean and dirt as if using an actual pedal but that drop in volume... Anybody else run into this? Have any suggestions? It's pretty consistent throughout all the amp models but I generally use the clean red with tube gain effect, gain 100% drive somewhere between 50 and 85%.
  10. Hi. I need some help. I've been using podFarm for a while and seen some great results for metalcore music. Recently I purchased an ibanez ts808 tube screamer and removed my tube screamer simulation from my podFarm tone to see if it gave the guitar a more realistic sound. I was happy with the result. I am now looking to buy an amp head So now I have two questions which I need help on. Can I have a chain of real tube screamer -> real amp head -> pod, and remove the amp head from my pod farm tone to give the guitar an even more realistic sound, as the only thing simulated would be the speaker cabinet? If I can do this can someone explain as simply as possible the way to do it, as I am a noob. My second question is what is the cali diamond plate amp head meant to be like in real life amp heads, I have £1000 to spend and want like a real version of the cali diamond plate, any suggestions? Thanks
  11. Hello there.. I am very new to any computer recording whatsoever.I have a pc laptop. I am looking to start recording some basic guitar tracks, and then hopefully some vocals over that. I would like to do all of this from my laptop, on a fairly tight budget. I am thinking of using reaper. Does anyone reccommend Reaper? Pros/Cons? What type of interface should I use? Can i use my mk2 express as an interface? Thanks for any help....
  12. so the other day i was recording my buddy, he left and everything was fine. i dont quite remember what happened but samplitude just crashed, and i went to open it again, then i loaded the song i was on, and it crashed again. i thought nothing of it really. so i opened stand alone podfarm and it said it was authorized. so i open monkey and it cant detect my ux1. i unplug it, plug it back in, and my mouse stops working. it even made the windows sound of a usb device being unplugged, but not one being plugged in. so, please help. maybe the ux1 is finally dead, idk.
  13. Dears, I have tried in the shop in HKG the HD PRO and it's the last piece available. I'm an happy user of the HD400 and I would like to ask a few questions before making the purchase. I'm in a hurry because if they sell the last one I need to wait 3 months....and I can't. I'm looking to a solution to have a quick way for dry and wet rec. these are the questions or better saying what I want to try to do: 1) first I need to say I'm using a MacBook Pro with Logicpro. 2) I would like to record in the same time using USB two separate tracks one with dry guitar sound and the other with wet (effected sound) 3) once the recording is done I would like to being able to keep changing the wet settings/effect (e.g. Distortion/reverb/delay etc...). I'm doing this now with the effects in the Logicpro effects, but I like only the POD sound via USB and I'd like to confirm if with the POD Hd Pro I can do it real time, e.g. I play the recorded guitar on logic pro (not sure if the wet or the dry track) and adjust the effects manually on the POd HD pro until I finalize the setting and effect I like. 4)some people at the store said its possible also with HD 400 but with some limitation...well which limitations? As you can understand from above question I need something easy and quick, and I need to be sure before purchasing. 5) im not using any Audio/interface, I connect the USB directly to the MacBook Pro do I need any interface to do what I asked above 6) last question, what is the other advantage to pass from Hd400 to HD pro? If this is not the right approach to do it, please feel free to suggest other ideas, ;) Sorry for the long message, I'm using a new account cause the last one apparently can't send anymore message. P.s. if you want to hear my rec. just search me on the social net.... I hope this is not spam hahah I love you for making such beautiful effect! Cheers Gio
  14. Hey guys, I've had my 500X for quite some time now, and am still having issues. When recording on my MacBook, I get a terrible buzzing noise, almost feedback, in my DAW. Whether it's garageband or Reaper. Here's the first video I did with it, you can hear the noise. I'm recording via USB. My cover of FaceDown The actual song for sound comparison The noise is very distinctive.. Almost uncatchable. But the strange thing is, is when I use my acoustic, it's silk smooth. Just like glass. But with an electric, whether it's my schecter, or Gibson LP, it's got that god awful noise. Honestly, I'm almost thinking about sending it to Line 6 and seeing whether they can fix it or not. Yeah, I made a few mistakes. Lol Thanks guys.
  15. Hi, I'm trying to use pod farm 2 with a direct connection from my guitar to my computer via a Tracklink Guitar to USB Interface USQ-110 and using ASIO4ALL for compatibility, but the latency makes it unusable. I've tried everything I can think of in order to get it down. I've tried turning the buffer rate all the way down to 64 samples and switching to Reaper, but neither worked. Is there something I'm doing wrong? Please help!
  16. Alright, I have a question hopefully someone can answer. I own a Line 6 Spider Jam amp and i want to make better use of the recording function by going hands-free. If i bought the fbv express mk2 would i be able to control my recording (start, stop, overdub)? via the footpedals or is that only possible on the fbv shortboard? Thanks Ben
  17. Hello, I broke my POD HD500X's display and I'm searching for a new display. I found a website called fullcompass.com and they sell lots of parts for Line 6 products but I couldn't find the LCD display for the POD HD500X. Is there a place where I can buy it? I don't live in USA and there's no Line 6 service center in my country. I want to buy a new screen online and then replace it myself, please help me... I'm going craxy with the broken screen. It's not a big crack but still... It bothers me. It kinda goes away though, when the pod is on for like 10 minutes, when I turn it off it goes back to this. Thanks in advance, please excuse my english.
  18. Okay guys. I need suggestions, please. I just purchased a new 5150iii combo amp and I'm looking to setup a wet, dry rig if possible. I have the pod HD500x and PA speakers. Is my idea mad, impossible or easily done?? Thank you in advance for the help.
  19. So I have just downloaded podfarm 1 from the line6 page and I can't get any of the tones to load. I have owned a UX2 for years and now find that gearbox no longer works. I have registered my UX2 with the line6 monkey but cant find a way to register podfarm. the error i get when i try to load a tone is "failed to load tone" "(code 80001003) access denied to file or folder." any help would be greatly appreciated. gearbox used to work perfectly.
  20. I just got a spider IV 150 2x12 combo amp and at the store the preset knob was acting funny, skipping presets not turning like it should then when I got it home the knob stopped working altogether. I spin the knob to select presets and the knob just spins and spins and does not change my presets and the knob is VERY loose and wobbles. Has anyone else had this issue or have an idea of what I can do???
  21. Hi! Ive had my m13 unit now for a year or so and it has worked flawlessly! I love it and its my main effects unit. My issue is, I sat down to practice from a big event I have coming up in the next few days and like normal I plugged everything in as normal and switched everything on but as soon as i engaged ANY switch on the m13 it cuts all my signal and sends an awful hum that simply doesn't let anything else through at all. I've tried multiple cables and different scenes on the unit and every patch does the same thing, lets through signal when the whole unit is bypassed but as soon as an fx on the unit is chosen it cuts all signal and sends a hum that can't be navigated around! Please Help!!
  22. Hi guys Been jamming today with my LTD SC-607B through the POD HD Bean, and all was good at first. Switched it off, came back later and then, without tweaking my patch at all, I started to get this annoying noise trailing my chugs. I have tried out a few lead cords and the same thing, and I am getting the same noise through both bridge and neck pick ups. Here is a recording of what I mean. Its driving me crazy. Like I said, it was fine just minutes earlier until I turned it off for a while. Came back and here we are. https://soundcloud.com/sdsm/my-song-2 Anybody else experienced this or something similar? I just put in a brand new battery for my EMG's too I have tried plugging the POD into other power sockets around the house and same thing I have tried another guitar with passive pick ups and same thing This comes on randomly from time to time
  23. I've recently been looking around to find an affordable JTV 69 in my area, and i came across some online sellers trading JTV 69 in a Shoreline Gold. which I love the color but given that the Line 6 Website doesn't show the 69 being available in the gold i'm a little sceptical as to whether these are legitimate or not. anyone able to help clear up the mystery? or is it just one of the many US custom colors?
  24. Hi all! I have a Podfarm UX1. I've had it for about a year and a half with no problems but recently when I try to plug it into the computer, the UX1 wont turn on, and the USB port on the back of the UX1 is a little loose and will not work. Anyone know an easy way to fix this? Or do I have to try and get a whole new UX1? Thanks!
  25. Hey fellas, I've had a HD500X ever since they came out, and I love it. If you have an older model POD, you should seriously consider the upgrade. Anyway I have a few questions, hopefully some of you guys can help me out here.. Recording: I have a Macbook and I'm using an old version of Garageband from like, '09. I plugged in my acoustic to record Here Comes The Sun, and post it on Facebook. WOW! It sounded fantastic! Everyone asked me to do another cover and so I thought, ah, what the heck? Sure thing... I plugged in my LP, and switched it over to the assigned switches and played without doing a sound check. (Stupid) Five minutes later I'm playing it back, and it sounds like absolute crap! I was in shock compared to the acoustic! It is majorly distorted! Even on a clean assign, with or without an amp model. Long story long, what recording software are you guys using? I'd like to keep it under $150, and it has to be Mac compatible. (This is why I hate you, Mac) I have 2gb of Ram so any older versions of Logic, are kind of out of the question. (Logic demands to much for my old hunk of junk)... Second thing: I'm planning on doing a small little guitar session at my school. Play along with the art teacher who plays piano and do a cover of, Let It Be. Our school stage has imbedded XLR inputs on the stage, and then that runs straight to the sound system amplifier, then to the speakers. Now, I'm no technical advance kind of guy when it comes to stuff like this. It's all new to me. Even though I know computers like the back of my hand. I see on the back of the 500X that it's got two, what appears to be XLR, even though it says Balanced Left and Right. What I'm trying to do is just get the sound from my pod straight to those XLR inputs in the stage. Any ideas of what cable I would need? I feel like a 1/4 inch to an XLR would work, but what would those balanced be used for? (future reference) Thanks Guys.
