  1. Hi, I'm connecting the Pod Go with the orginal power supply. As soon as connected to speaker, an unacceptable hum is heard when turning up the volume. The noise is there even nothing is connected to the pedal, and even the pedal is off. I tried different cables and the problem still occurs. Please advise. Cheers
  2. https://youtube.com/shorts/RelV779FIjQ After I moved to this new apartment, it did not have this noise right away but it started to get this weird hum/hiss/buzz sound. It sounds a lot worse with the headphones (because it is right next to you ear). It is worse when I using single coil guitars. Thinking it could be ground loop, I used the power conditioner from Furhman? still had that same noise. I took it to a shop and people there said there is no issue. FS1 is boost, FS2 is overdrive, FS4 was compression pedal. When I unplug the guitar, there is no noise. Using the position 2 and 4 from start cuts the noise off but when you play that noise can be heard in the back and leaves the trails of the noise. I tried doing everything, plugging just the pedal in the power, trying it in the different room etc. Nothing seems to work so far. I will be taking it to different house maybe in few weeks but other than that I have no idea what is causing this. What could be the issue?
  3. So the Litigator has been my favorite Helix amp sim for a looooong time. It may have been since last Helix update but I'm hearing a loud hum that I hadn't noticed before - specifically with this amp. I first thought it might be something to do with my Powercab Plus that I updated a few weeks ago but when I tried other amp sims it dissappears. AND I also tested it on Helix NATIVE which also has latest update (unless there's a pretty new one that I've overlooked) and yep - same thing. You certainly couldn't record with it. This has nothing to do with gain or boost pedals. Hums with nothing but amp and cab in signal chain. If I decrease gain/volume enough to make it go away it's unusable. Again, this is the case in both the Helix floor AND Native so it 'appears' to indicate an update issue rather than a hardware issue. I haven't checked every amp sim in the Helix but a lot of them including high gain amps - and it appears to be specifically the Litigator. Waaaaa ... I want my amp back. Anybody else experiencing this or know what's up?
  4. I have been trying to find a way to record an unprocessed signal and a processed signal from my Helix LT. Originally I tried an ABY box with a. ground lift. The clean channel seemed normal but it created a hum in the processed channel along with the processed signal. If I unplugged the second cable from the ABY box there was no hum. So then I tried skipping the ABY box and using a send as the first block in the chain. It seemed to record a perfectly clean tone in Logic Pro X. But when I tried putting any virtual amp on the unprocessed recorded track it had the same hum as the processed track running out from the Helix LT. I could understand the ABY box having noise issues but I can’t for the life of me understand why the unprocessed send would have a hum.
  5. Hello Friends! This is not your typical "amp fizz" "squirrels" "Ghost in the machine" thread! I suspect there are several things at play here. First, the backstory. I've been having "fizz" troubles with my Helix for months, at their worst they result in massive volume dumps during live performances thru my (Matrix GT800) live rig. BUT recently its almost like they decay over time... I wouldn't be starting this topic if not for the fact that for the last 8 hours STRAIGHT it sounded amazing. Low end was tight, everything sounded amazing. I play through my headphone exclusively but when the fizz gets bad I make sure to diagnose, record it thru the USB, track it out the 1/4" in ouputs and even the sends. BUT THEN I opted to try to restore some old Factory Presets by loading old Firmware into the Helix. Well, I jumped to 3.01 and the fizz came back and hasn't left yet. I'm on my second round loading the firmware through the Helix from 3.01 -> 3.11 Hoping it helps. Attached are 3 stock Helix presets, not affected at all beyond making the impedance 1M. THEY CAN'T POSSIBLY BE THIS BAD YOU GUYS WHATS GOING ON. Jazz Rivet - 04A.mp3 WOrks just fine - 09A.mp3 SadSad - 01D.mp3
  6. Hoping someone can assist on this. I tried updating the firmware on my Amplifi 30 the other day. It appeared to succeed but afterwards, the amp now emits a loud screeching hum which cannot be controlled by the volume, and with no instrument plugged in. Any controls on the app does not affect the sound. Scrolling the tone bank does not affect the sound. Nothing affects the sound - except when I plug in a headphone to cut the speaker output. But then it is in the headphone! Has this thing been bricked? Anyone else have this type of problem? Thanks in advance. Pcho73
  7. Setup PodGo PRS SE 24 Headrush 12 Patches sound good up until I hit high notes. The issues starts only on the high E above the 12 - 15 fret. It sounds like a very fast, very irritating tremelo. This happens on most patches that are higher gain. Up to that point the sounds is great and then sounds like a cat mating. Any suggestions would be appreciated. thanks bruce
  8. Hello guys, I am new into Amp modeling and I got my pod go since a week. I bought it to record my cover and own riffs. Now I got a big problem. The sound is fine in every tuning (Standard D, Drop B/Bb) but in drop C the lowest String sounds horrible when I am palm muting. This vibration/hum is hurting my ears. But just this low C. My setting: Ibanez Iceman ICT 700 with Ernie Balls (not even Slinky 12-56). Pod Go What can I do to fix this? I tried a low cut but I need to cut so much, that I lose all my base.
  9. I updated to 2.8. If ir data is loaded in the ir block, hum noise will occur. It is a 60Hz hum noise.
  10. I'm getting some bit of weird noise with high gain amps, where it's humming if I'm not touching any metal part of the guitar, but goes away as soon as I touch the strings or bridge. I'm using headphone out to stereo amp & speakers, and just a guitar in cable... Getting the same with multiple guitars, and what's strange is that it does it even with humbuckers. It's almost like if there was a ground loop... Sure, noise gate does help, but it doesn't feel quite normal that I'm getting that much 'electrical' noise for no apparent reason... Any idea what could be causing it and is anyone getting the same thing?
  11. Hi all, just got my HD500 unit. Its was used. Works great but when playing directly through the unit using headphones I can hear a relatively loud hum that is constant. When I touch my effects buttons it goes away and is crystal clear. When I touch the looper or up down buttons on the left it goes away by about half. Of course its more pronounced on tones having heavy distortion effects. Seems to be a ground problem. I've checked and its not the cord, nor my guitar. Its definately the POD. Hum if affected only when i touch the pod. Question is how can I fix this without having to run a ground wire to my toe? Thanks.
  12. Hi everyone. I'm using the following setup: Guitar to helix, 4 cable method to Carvin Legacy VL300 amp, amp to Carvin Legacy 412 cab, and xlr outputs to mixer then stereo cabs. I'm also feeding a stereo loop pedal via sends 3 and 4. So: Guitar -> Helix guitar in -> Helix Send 1 -> Amp In -> Amp Send -> Helix Return 1 -> Helix Send 2 -> Amp Return (i use the send 2 instead of the 1/4" out because this way the volume is not affected by the helix volume knob). Also: Helix Xlr Outs to mixer, and Sends 3 and 4 to Loop Pedal, then mixer. You can see the scheme in the picture Problem is, when i plug the guitar straight to the amp, there's no noise, no hum, everything clear on all chanels. When i plug the guitar to helix straight to mixer, with amp simulations, no noise, no hum, everything clear. When i use the 4CM, lots of noise. You can hear it in the video. first guitar straight to amp. then plug the guitar to helix guitar in, and the remaining 3 cables. And you'll hear the diference... https://youtu.be/D6eNThp-BkM Already tried: -change all the cables, audio and power. -plug the power to diferente places, then same place. -change the outs from line to instrument, and vice-versa. Nothing works. Any guesses??
  13. So, having an issue with unwanted hum that I've never seen before. Using the Helix as an FX board in front of a Dr. Z Carmen Ghia. This amp is very simple. 2 knobs, no effects loop. Brilliant tone. Here is the scenario... If I plug my guitar directly into the amp, no hum. If I unplug from the guitar and into any output of the Helix I get terrible hum. This is true even if the Helix is turned off. I tried several cables. All had the exact same behavior. Anyone know how to fix this. The Helix/Camen Ghia combination is unusable the hum is so loud.
  14. so I recently got a hx stomp, tried it out, everything was working fine and it was dead silent, then I updated to the new firmware and all of a sudden got this buzz noise (its attachedto this post). it goes away after some time, but comes back. I also tried different power supplies and outlets , its always the same result, does anybody else have this problem, it seems like a software issue, since it was working fine before doing the update. hx stomp buzz.mp3
  15. Hi! Wondering if anyone knows if a new input jack would fix this. Or if i should chase something else. Here is what happens: JTV89F -> VDI -> HELIX. Mags give extra hum until I touch the end shroud of the VDI cable. Either end will do it. JTV end or HELIX end. It hums like a single coil. Using my 69S through the same path and I do not have the same issue. No change whatsoever when touching an end of the cable so I am thinking that at least rules out other components in the chain. Thoughts?
  16. I just saw this in the DAW forum I frequent. They had a bad hum when a Focusright audio interface was USB connected to their computer. The hum went away when they replaced the USB cable with one that had a ferrite choke on it. Perhaps that may solve some of the problems that pop here now and then.
  17. So I just got a new amp that finally allows me to use the 4cm. I have a blackstar HT 60 which is an amazing amp and I am using my POD 500x to run fx pre and post. My problem becomes that I get a slight hum whenever I insert the FX block into the chain. This hum stays even when I take the fx block into bypass mode or off and the hum stays it does not leave until I have the FX block deleted from the chain. I am unsure if this is an amp issue or Pod. I believe it to be the POD as this only happens when the FX block is added and is in bypass or off mode. I can put a noise gate up to block most of it but when you play you can faintly hear the hum underneath etc. I have used the 3cm method as that is what the Line 6 people recommended because I do not use amp modeling and this did allow me to use the three built in channels on the amp but then from what I have learned and messed with is that I lose the ability to put compression etc in front of the pre amp of the ht 60. I did manage to get the hum softer by not having those cables from the amp fx send and return not run parallel and have now upgraded those cables to balanced to also combat the signal hum but the hum is still slight and annoying. I would like to be able to run the amp as quiet and clean as possible without having to worrying about having enough blocks for the FX block, Noise gate etc. That eats up two blocks when I would much rather have it run as one block. Does anyone else have this same problem or have any insight of something to try to help combat this? Thanks
  18. I have an issue with excessive hum and the jtv59. I'm running guitar via VDI cable into a HD500. I'm using the magnetic pickups and the modelling at the same time and using a panner to switch between them. For example: Acoustic jmodels and panning into a heavy magnetic-based tone. I'm running XLR right out to a EV monitor on stage and XLR left out to board. I'm getting a horrible hum now. It has happened before but seems to have gotten worse. I switched inputs in the presets in the pod to just the variax (right before the gig in a panic) and the buzz is gone. Trying to brainstorm causes and solutions. The hum sounds like a typical ground loop. I've tried the ground lift on the pod and it seems to have no effect. This venue has bad power (as does a lot of places we play). Getting a few furman SS-6B filtering power strips that may help. I could just run to the board and the send guitar back to wedge. Thought about getting the pyle PHE400. http://www.mcmelectronics.com/product/555-16055?scode=DD1443&trk_msg=5JJO54U26DJ4B18OSAJ6TRMJ1K&trk_contact=765CTN3VQE3OND4R5FLA07VMJO&utm_source=Listrak&utm_medium=Email&utm_term=555-16055&utm_campaign=DD1443 Thought that is maybe a grounding issue in the JTV. If this was a normal guitar, I would gut it and foil and ground the pickup cavity. I'm a little hesitant to dig into it but will likely crack it open soon and take a look. I saw the pickup diagram that is flowing around. Afterthought: I don't know if switching to the magnetics would bring hum back. That would be a great test. Any help would be most appreciated.
  19. ISSUE RESOLVED.. Just a ground lift needed to be added to my computer and the hum is gone and everything works. Hi, I just got a Helix and a DT25 yesterday. Figured out the Line 6 link ain't happing so I'm using the RETURN on the DT25 to bypass the pre's on the DT. That seems to work but now I want to use the Helix Edit software via USB and I'm getting a LOUD hum noise coming from the DT25 like it's wide open and turning up/down the volume does nothing on the DT25 or Helix. I can still hear the Helix tones but the loud hum makes it useless. I tried to use the DT Edit software (unsupported) but it has not effect on the noise. If I used the headphone jack on the Helix the hum is not there when using the Helix Edit software. The issue is between the DT25 return and the Helix when it's in USB Edit mode. Any ideas? Thanks, Gary
  20. Hello all, I'm trying to cleanup a ground loop situation happening between the Helix and my Mission Engineering Gemini 1 FRFR cab. In certain situations, when both are plugged in, I'm getting a nasty ground loop/hum out of the cab. I've determine through trial and error that this is the result of a ground loop thus my question, does anyone have any recommendations for a power conditioner that I could use to eliminate this hum? It'd be nice to ensure that no matter where I am playing my rig won't succumb to the ugly hum of a ground loop. Oh, one more note, I've tried separating the signal from the Helix to the cab via a DI box with no luck. Perhaps a Furman M-8x2?
  21. My DT50 212 has a prominent hum, even when no guitar is plugged in. It is not affected by the master volume level. It changes level slightly when using different voicings, but is quite loud in all of them. A tech listened to it and said that it is somewhat higher pitched than a 60 cycle hum. It has always hummed and been noisy, but it was not such a problem in a band setting. Now I would like to use it more for recording and it has become quite a problem, as the noise floor is very high. I have experimented with one or two different 12AX7 tubes in the past with not much difference that I could tell. I have not tried a Mesa SPAX7 as has been suggested in other posts. I have opened a support ticket, but any help/guidance/info from the forum would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much!
  22. I have a medium large pedal board with a few 'dirt' pedals, and which had a Line6 M5 for the rarely used effects such as rotating speaker. All the pedals use an isolated output 9v supply, and hum and noise is at very reasonable levels, all things considered. However, when I put the M5 in line (using its own independent power supply), I get an awful(!) hum from the gain pedals when they are engaged. If I disconnect the M5 power, the hum goes away (M5 still inline with the other pedals). I tried two different supplies for the M5, with no apparent difference in noise level, and the hum is there even with the M5 in idle/bypass mode - it just has to be powered up. I'm scratching my head wondering what might cause this. Any ideas?
  23. Hi. My POD HD 500 X has a hiss noise and its hums to the tempo of the tap tempo. Why would it do this and how do I fix it ? Here is a video that shows what it does. https://youtu.be/mFg8CBlv940
  24. I just plugged my bass guitar into the Line 6 Pocket Pod 2.0. I get a lot of noise and not a lot of bass. I've looked through the settings too. Am I not doing something right?
