  1. Hello, I've noticed a bug while using HX Edit. If a user were to expand the window to show the setlist while the screen is maximized then the window is partially cut off because it goes offscreen (image 4, highlighted in blue). This would make it inconvenient for a user because they cannot see the path outputs, nor the parameter values unless they resize the window. I believe the fix for this would be to resize the "main view container" when the setlist is expanded/collapsed instead of resizing the whole window. Would someone from line 6 support be able to review this? Please see my notes below. Thanks, Steps to Reproduce Maximize the HX Edit window with the setlist expanded (image 1) Collapse the setlist (image 2) Maximize the HX Edit window (image 3) Expand the setlist (image 4) Parameter values and path outputs offscreen
  2. If Helix Native / HX Edit crashes or loads with an empty screen on your Windows computer, check to see that your system drive is assigned to Disk 0. We have seen numerous reports of this working for customers running into this problem, as shown in this forum post: https://line6.com/support/topic/49342-hx-edit-281-and-helix-native-starting-with-with-a-blank-screen-and-crash/?do=findComment&comment=330021 The workaround was found and reported by user Camelot_One, and his post goes into detail on checking your drives and ways to rearrange them so that one of them shows as Disk 0. Microsoft Surface Book/Surface Pro users and HX Edit: Some users have reported that ejecting their internal memory card slot on the Surface book/Surface Pro has helped solve this issue. If HX Edit is having trouble opening, it's a possible work-around.
  3. I updated both my HX Stomp and HX Edit to 2.92. My IR's work great on my Stomp but are not selectable when connected to HX Edit. When I select a preset with Stomp connected, Edit displays a previous version of the preset prior to my adding IRs to the Stomp preset????? HX Edit 2.92 does not acknowledge any of my 2.92 HX Stomp presets containing Celestion IR's. I did try to backup my HX Stomp but got a bad data error Code - 8606. The pics below show the preset selected using the HX Edit.
  4. Probably a bit specialised but... Background I use HX edit with Helix on 2.82 by sending the USB data over a local area network using VirtualHere ( which in their words allows "USB devices to be used remotely over a network just as if they were locally connected" https://www.virtualhere.com/). I use Windows 10 as the client and a raspberry PI for the server. It allows me to sit at the PC playing guitar while the Helix is the other side of the room. The USB connection to Helix appears and HX Edit uses it. Question Since updating to 2.8 HX Edit keeps disconnecting so I wonder if anyone else has managed to find a way of connecting to the Helix USB over a network? USB servers such as Lindy (https://www.lindy.co.uk/usb-c4/4-port-usb-2-0-gigabit-network-server-p8641) might work but I don't really want to spend £80 finding it doesn't! Cheers
  5. I have a 2018 Macbook Pro and up until about 2 weeks ago, the DAW I use and HX edit doesn't recognize my HX Stomp. Is this likely because of a problem with Catalina? If so, when will it be fixed? Anyone else experiencing this problem?
  6. Ok, so I am a noob to Helix, but not a complete noob. I'm a software developer, good with tech. But, I'm seeing some weird behavior with editing snapshots in HX Edit that doesn't seem to match up with how they are supposed to work. Before I dig into this, let me say my global preferences are set to discard changes to snapshots. So, I have to save them or they get discarded. So I have this lead patch, and I want that exact setup for Snapshot 2, but I want to customize Snapshot 1 and save it as a more dialed down sound. Basically 1=rhythm, 2=lead. I bypass a couple of effects, and I make some significant tweaks to parameters on the 10-band EQ. I save the patch (thus saving my snapshot changes), then switch to Snapshot 2. When I do that, the bypassed pedals are no longer bypassed, which is what you would expect. However, the EQ parameters stay the same. They don't bounce back to Snapshot 2 settings. If I now edit them again, save the patch, and go back to Snap1, they are once again NOT restored to Snap1 EQ settings. What gives here? My understanding is it should restore the individual parameters on each block?
  7. Hi folks; First time posting on the forums, and I'm hoping you all can help me out. I just successfully updated to firmware 2.50 for Helix (which is everything I hoped it would be :D ), and I'm trying to use HX Edit. I downloaded it successfully, but when I click on the application icon to open it, it starts to open the black window, then immediately shuts down with the message "HX Edit quit unexpectedly." I've tried deleting and re-downloading with the same result. I opened the app directly from the 'Applications' folder, not from a shortcut. I'm running a Mac with OS X 10.8.5, and haven't had any trouble with Line 6 or Helix software heretofore. This was the first version of 'HX Edit' that I've installed. Prior to this I was using the old 'Helix' app (which I've already deleted). I'm not worried about restoring any preset or IR backups, I just want the app to open and work properly. Any tips or solutions to this problem would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! [Moderators, if there is an existing topic on this issue, feel free to move my post there. This is my first time posting and I don't know how all of this works just yet.]
  8. Hi all, I've seen some discussion on this, but nothing so far that has been able to help me figure this out. I just downloaded HX Edit and bought the OwnHammer 412 Rect IR pack. I'm pretty sure I have everything updated and am signed in, but keep getting the following error message when I try to import them: HX Edit was unable to import IRs in this set due to following errors: -8209 - Service does not support the requested function. Any ideas? I have the Line 6 Updater, although it doesn't show any devices that I can update. It currently shows that I'm running Helix LT 2.30 and HX Edit 2.71. Thanks in advance for the help!
  9. I'm trying to install the newest HX Edit update, but it fails to verify. Line 6 has a note on the download page for if that issue occurs to download the Line 6 MD5 Checksum utility but the link leads to a page that says there is no Line 6 MD5 Checksum utility download. HELP! Not sure what I did. But it works. haha
  10. Hi, I'm having a problem when transferring files from HX Stomp to HX Edit or Helix Native. I keep getting this error message:- HX Edit was unable to import presets in this set due to following errors:- 8309 incompatible target device type. I only bought the Stomp yesterday and have loaded the latest version of the software onto the Stomp and I also have the latest versions of both HX Edit and Native on my Mac. Any ideas anyone? Thanks in advance for any help you can give me Les
  11. HX Edit 2.51 crashes on my MacBook Pro 2012 running OS 10.8.5 whenever I turn on my Helix LT. This happened before I upgraded the LT to from firmware 2.30 to 2.50 and after I upgraded to 2.50. For you computer nerds (like me :) ) the crash report states that there was an uncaught exception 'NSInvalidArgumentException'. I was able to run the previous version on HX Edit just fine, and there is nothing stating that OS 10.8 is incompatible with HX Edit 2.51. Does anyone have a fix for this (without just stating to try uprading to a newer OS, please).... Thanks!!! P.S.: I upgraded to firmware 2.5 using Windows 7 on a Bootcamp installation, in case anyone is wondering.
  12. laptop/HX Edit nearby but HX Stomp out of view, can I see the tuner on my laptop screen somehow?
  13. I am trying to import some of Jason Sadites presets from the customtone page. I download the .hlx files, and import them from hx edit onto the helix. The tones are loaded just fine, but the bypass/controller assignment does not show up on the actual Helix LT. Is this the intended behaviour (I hope not), or am I doing something wrong. Best
  14. Cant connect my hx effects on hx edit, it says code 8207 I just recently purshased this device and I cant use from my pc.
  15. I just uploaded a request in IdeaScale asking for the ability to view parameter differentials between snapshots in the Inspector window. Anybody else wish they could see all parameter comparisons without jumping back and forth block-by-block?
  16. Hi! hoping to share some presets for the HX effects and try some from others. Is their a good place to find / download these as well as IRs. Thanks
  17. Disclaimer: I have a fully up to date HXFX and HX EDIT software. Have rebooted and restarted software many times. Brand new MacBook Pro. No dongles or usb hubs are being used. Usb c to usb b cable. Also I don't own any other HELIX family pedals. The issue I'm having is when connecting my HXFX to the edit software. It will not save the Bypass state of a pedal when SAVING via EDIT software. (command s) It will also not save different parameter values between Snapshots when saving via sofware. Now If I change the Bypass state or Snapshot parameter values of a pedal via the software or hardware, and hit save on the hardware it self, it will save that. The only thing (that I notice) the HX edit will actually save is what pedals I put in the chain, and preset parameter values. When using (command S). My workaround is to just use the SAVE buttons on the pedal itself. Is anyone else experience this.
  18. Hi there. Just got my HX. Hooked it up with Windows 10, updated firmware and downloaded latest HX Edit. It runs, but the Windows Flow Windows, does not appear. Is this a trimmed down version of the Normal Helix and just functions as a preset manager, or it is a full blow editor? Thanks,.

    HX Effects

Running HX Effects firmware v2.54 & HX Edit v2.52 on a Windows 10 PC. HX Effects cannot run a backup as error code -8606 appears when the program gets to 'Presets'. Also, the only screen that is available in HX Edit shows the Presets but no further info is shown and the only options are to copy/import/export them. The 'Impulses' screen is blank. I've tried on 2 PC's and the results are identical. Any ideas as to what's wrong?
  20. Hi all. So I've been told by Line 6 support to return my HX Effects for a replacement as they think the -28 boot error is in fact a hardware issue. So I've spent a lot of time programming multiple presets all with 4 snapshots for key parts of songs, I don't want to lose ll that work so I've run a backup using HX Edit which seemed to work fine but after reading a report that a restore does not restore snapshot settings I'm concerned. Can anybody please tell me if they have had success restoring to the HX Effects and retained all settings including snapshots? Thanks

    Update 2.50 Help!

So I wanted to update my Helix floor unit. I downloaded the latest HX edit update but when I go to "create backup", HX Edit unexpectedly shuts down. I tried uninstalling HX Edit and installing HX edit 2.30 but the same result happens. I'm using a MacBook Air and after HX edit shuts down it gives me the option to "report" it but it sends that to Apple. So this may be a computer issue... I don't know... any advice? Thanks
  22. You can download it here: http://line6.com/data/6/0a020a3f991d5a1de0bc033cb/application/pdf/HX%20Edit%20Pilot's%20Guide%20-%20English%20.pdf (...don't know how long it's already available ;) ...)
  23. This is a major improvement if you have a high-res Windows display (beyond 1080), the text in the old editor was microscopic (even with display scaling on) and certain features were overlapping or displaying incorrectly. First time I've ever been able to actually use the editor with my laptop while I'm playing, finally!!! Great work, thank you. Now if only they'd completely redesign the reverbs, I'd be a very happy camper. :D :D :D PS - Space Echo is AWESOME.
