Hi! I'm a new bass HX Stomp user and i wanted to use this beast like a no pc Guitar Rig. But i have some trouble to find some good tones for the style i want to use it with! I play various modern style of music like lofi hip hop, futur house and overall electro style, so when i use Guitar rig, i surch for weird effects preset and adjust with what i need... i use a lot of Octaver(oc2 for that), Bit crusher, phaser, stereo... But when a go through the HX, i don't find much of good starting point to go in the direction i want... I know that those type of pedals are usualy used by "rock" musicians so there is millions of good thing for that style, but i'm afraid i really have to dig a long time to find my way... :s So i wanted to know if you knew some place where people share thoses kind of presets... or at least a forum where people exchange there presets! Thank a lot !

Hello, I am trying to re-amp a dry signal recorded on GarageBand with the HX Stomp. I understand that Garageband output and input must be set to HX stomp, the dry signal send to output HX Stomp via USB 5-6 and the re-amp will be recorded on HX Stomp USB channel 1-2. I set all that. I have also changed the input of the HX flow to USB 5-6 as per explained in the manual (circle before the first block on the stomp itself) Here is my issue, the sound comes from GB (I can hear the dry guitar in the headset plugged into the HX stomp - only the usb is hooked to GB) but it doesn't sound like the signal is passed to the effects chain (no parallel split in my chain). Nothing is getting back to GB and again the sound in the headset is the dry sound. I found several videos explaining the output of the dry should be set to USB 5-6 but GB doesn't let you select that (I can only select HX stomp). Is there a way to do it? Any idea what could be set improperly ? Has anyone had any luck reamping with Garageband and HX stomp ? Thanks for your help Pat.

Hello, NEED HELP...PLEASE! I have an HX Effects and I am using Command Center to program a button inside a preset to flip between snapshot 1 and snapshot 2. I have the button programed on PRESS/RELEASE so that when I PRESS it goes to snapshot 2 and REALEASE it goes to snapshot 1. I currently have it set as follows, and when press the button it LATCHES to snapshot 2, then when I want I press the button again it RELEASE and it goes to snapshot 1, this is what I am looking for! The issue is, I set this up in one preset, and when I went to another preset to repeat this process the button is only momentarily switched, NOT latching. What did I do right the first time that I am messing up on repeat?

Hello! Does anyone know if it is possible to assign the tap tempo switch to control the pre-delay on any of the reverb blocks in HX Effects? I have an EHX Cathedral that does this and it has become one of my go to delay/reverb sounds. I'm wondering if this is possible within HX. I thought about creating a custom block that includes both a reverb and a single repeat delay set to full wet before the verb, but i'd love to find a cleaner way to do it. Anybody have any thoughts?

Does anyone know if presets for the HX Stomp Will work with the HX Stomp XL meaning can I import all my presets from my HX Stomp to the new HX Stomp XL?

Guys I need your help ..... some time ago I bought some “packs” for line6 Stomp hx exclusively for bass. Unfortunately I have been having problems for a few weeks! When I use a factory preset the volume is normal, while if I use one of the purchased presets the volume is very low, almost imperceptible. I upgraded the latest FireWire but the problem persists. I also tried to do a total reset but the problem persists! Maybe some incompatibility? The strange thing is everything worked correctly until a few days ago .... Can you help me?

Updated HX Stomp firmware today after quite a while of inactivity. Now for some reason buttons Home/view and back page not working. Cant get into menu/global/mode settings etc from unit. Everything works fine using HX Edit. Tried the obvious rolling back to previous firmware/global reset etc without any luck. Anyone having a solve would be greatly appreciated.

Hi everyone!! I have in my hands an HX Effects, and I would like to add a midi pedalboard like Morningstar MC3 but I would like to know if I can add more Footswitch The HX effects has up to 6 simultaneous effects and I would like to add some more as can be done in the HX Stomp

WARNING: Utilizing FX Loop, Send, and Return blocks within the same Helix/HX preset has the potential to cause a feedback loop based on the routing and their position in the signal flow. The volume level and severity of this is feedback loop is dependent upon what is contained within the FX Loops. We strongly encourage Helix/HX users to use extra caution and awareness when using these blocks in their presets. Specifically avoid placing duplicate send blocks AFTER their corresponding Return in the signal flow. This applies to both FX loop blocks which contain both sends and returns within one block as well as individual send and return blocks. For example, if your preset contains an FX Loop 1 block (FX Loop L on HX Stomp), which utilizes both Send 1 and Return 1, DO NOT place a Send 1 block AFTER this FX Loop. The same would apply to using individual send and return blocks. For example, if you have a Send 1 block and a Return 1 block in your preset, DO NOT place a duplicate Send 1 block AFTER the Return 1 block.

Hello everyone! First time using the forums, so bear with me here. I recently bought a Hughes and Kettner GrandMeister 40 and would like to be able to switch presets on the amp using my HX effects. I’ve used the HX in the past for channel switching, but would like to be able to jump to different presets depending on the effect presets I’m using on the HX. I know I’d need to use the midi outs on both the head and HX, but am totally stumped on what to do from there. Any advice or tips? Thanks in advance! -
Hi there, I'm trying to record my guitar using my macbook, audacity, and of course my HX Stomp. I read that no driver is required on Mac if I'm using 48Khz sample rate, so I simply plugged the stomp into the macbook and, indeed, it is detected by the system. But so far, I have not been able to get any sound from the usb audio interface. I set the HX stomp as recording device from the Audio MIDI Setup application, but I can't set master volume nor channels volume Yet, I tried to selected the proper interface and channel (1) in Audacity and expected a miracle : But of course I have a flat line. So is there something I missed (the audio output knob on the stomp is set at max) Many thanks !

Hi all I'm looking to expand my HX Stomp functionality with an expression pedal (or two). I'm not looking for brand recommendations but the following; Both the Line 6 & Mission Engineering pedals have 10k ohm linear pots in them but I've read on various sites (in researching for HX and Eventide H9 use) that value isn't a given and others say it is. So my question is has anyone had experience using an expression pedal with a 20k ohm pot in it with their Line 6 & other units and does it make any real difference between the two values? Thanks, Ben

Hi there. First time poster, long time lurker. I have an odd question about a very specific use case for the HX effects and using an external switch. But first, some context. Before the HX came into my life, there was the DL4. Well, lots of DL4s. I've long been in a love/hate relationship with the DL4 looper, and I've definitely driven a few into the ground. I love the looper because it's one of the few out there that has a dedicated "play once" function and that has other helpful, easy-to-access functions, like half/2x speed and reverse. I use my DL4 very much like an instrument itself. A sampler, if you will, where I'm able to "play" a short loop I've recorded in a rhythmic way. However, those foot switches are prone to breaking, and so I modded my DL4 so that I could plug in an external foot switch and use it to trigger the "play once" function. That way, if I destroy the switch with my frantic rhythmic tapping, all I have to do is swap out the cheaper switch instead of doing a big repair to or replacing the whole DL4. But even that system's not reliable, and the DL4 looper itself is pretty limited. Which brings me to the HX Effects. I was so excited to grab one, because it has the same DL4 looper algorithm and then some. The problem is, I've really struggled to find a way to hook up an external, easily replaceable foot switch to the HX to be able to trigger "play once". First, it doesn't seem that you can just plug any ol' external foot switch into the 1/4" external pedal jacks, because there's no way to configure the jack to control "play once". Second, I tried finagling something with midi, where I could use a Disaster Area DMC 3XL with an external foot switch plugged into that. The idea was that I'd be able to stomp on my "beater" external switch, which would trigger the specific midi message of my choosing to be sent to the HX, to control "play once". However, that failed when I realized that the firmware for the DMC 3XL won't allow me to customize to get the exact message I need (CC 62, value between 64-127). So, I'm kind of stuck. I really want to preserve the life of my HX Effects, and the simplest thing seems to be to hook up an external switch to trigger "play once" so I don't have to stomp directly on the HX. But something this simple currently seems impossible to do. Anyone have any thoughts? Any and all creative ideas welcome. Help! And thanks. -
Hello everyone, I have a problem with my HX Stomp. I bought it 6 months ago and been using it as both audio interface or plugged into my scarlett ever since. I'm really satisified. Lately, I decided to use it as an effect stomp in front of a tube amp (effects only, no amp or IRs) or straight into the PA. All I got from these two scenarios was disturbing noise and no sound. The routing signal has always been: guitar - jack cable - Hx stomp - jack cable coming out of the L/mono main output - Amp or PA. Nothing worked. Needless to say, I checked all the cables I used and they're all good, I used 4 different amps, 3 PAs. Has anyone ever experienced something similar? PS: as audio interface or in front of my Scarlett (L/mono output to interface preamp) works very well. Thanks so much! Love to all

Hi there, My fitst appearence here, so be kind to me:) Since a few weeks u have an HX Stomp on my pedalboard, fantastic machine! But since 2 weeks it doesn’t send out a stereo signal anymore. I use my pedalboard/HX Stomp at our local church, since the first moment i had it, i played stereo, by the usual way to put 2 jacks on the left+right output of the stomp. Nothing special so far. But since 2 weeks the sound guys @ the FOH (front of house) tell me that they don’t recieve a signal from the right output. Tried multiple jacks, switched between the left and right output, tried different DI’s, but no signal... I checked/compared some base settings with the HX Stomp of a friend, and those were no different. I use my gear very carefully, so i can truly say that i didn’t broke anything... it is only a few weeks old, it’s the limited white version, so i juist can’t believe it broke by itself... is there something in the settings that i forgot, or something else i didn’t think of? Hopefully there are some folks that can help me or send me in the right direction to solve this problem! thnx. Pieter

Hi all! New Helix HX user as of this week and still trying to learn my way around this new (for me) FX platform. Is there any manual or guide that can explain how the Multitap 4 and 6 effects work? I'm trying to create a 3 tap delay with 3 different delay times (example: 200ms, 400ms, 600ms) but I only see 1 delay time setting. How do the taps work in those two effects?

Hi everyoine. So I've been experimenting a bit with my equipment recently and I've found one thing that concearns me a bit. Bit over what I'm working here with: 1. HX Effects 2. Hughes Kettner 40W amp 3. Torpedo studio What I'm trying to achieve is a split signal from HX Effects to my torpedo (different effects on different lines and then different cab simulations on Torpedo), while at the same moment using FX Loop of my amplifier. What I've done is: So basically signal goes like this: Guitar -> HX input -> Send2 to amp -> Return2 from send of amp -> HX output to return of amp -> amp to torpedo cab input -> HX Send1 to Torpedo line input Because Torpedo is setup to take Amp + Line L inputs, HX outputs are panned: - Main L/R is panned 100% right - Send 1/2 is panned 100% left + I used Send1 block on path B to force signal to this output but I don't know if it does anything... And here's what's bothering me: if you can only use Send1/2 as output of the second path, is the Send2 signal to amp doubled (FX loop + output of Path B)? Funny thing in that situation is that even when my amp is in standby mode I can still hear guitar on left channel... Can anyone tell me if this setup is correct or am I doind something wrong here and can possibly damage my equipment... Thanks Art

Hi dudes, I’ve just purchased an Hx stomp and have had it running successfully with the 4CM with my Rc-30 looper in the chain. I would like to use the direct in method so I can make use of the Helix’s preamp settings instead of my Katana but I cant seem to integrate my looper into the mix as they both need to be connected to the return on my effect loop to work. I know it probably is something so simple and minor to remedy but my brain for some reason has left the building. Please someone help me before I explode

Hi Guys!, this is more like a little rant. I´ve been wandering in the custom tone catalog for the HX Stomp and found that those 802 tones are not that real in numbers... I see lots of repeated tones I mean, the same tone, same name, same authors; the exact same tone repeated a lot of times. For example, I´ve been seeing this "Mayer'ishStomp" from jaysadites repeated at least 1 time in every page for about 8 + pages. I´m not saying the user is spamming, but we clearly need some maintenance on the database to remove duplicates. Have you seen duplicates too? Regards

Hey everybody! I just got an HX stomp in my home studio for all my guitar and bass recording needs. I'm wondering if I can somehow setup a patch to have my wet signal go out the left output and to have a dry DI signal out the right output or vice versa? I know I can do that if I use the HX stomp as my interface but I'd rather not do that. I don't care if I'm wasting blocks because I tend to use very minimal patches. Thanks!
