  1. Just found this on TGP: ( https://www.thegearp...3#post-25887560 )
  2. Hi I can't seem to get my setup to work I purchased Pod Farm 2,5 Platinum standalone to use with my Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 v2 USB but when I try to set it up Pod Farm doesn't recognize the inputs. I can manually select the hardware to tell Pod to "use this device" but to no avail. I can get my interface to work well with Logic Pro X and GarageBand but I really wanted to to back to Pod Farm for versatility's sake on tone, and it's such a letdown that I can't get this to work at all. Anyone know how to fix this problem? Because I've tried EVERYTHING that the manual says setupwise and I'm starting to feel like I've spent 250 bucks for nothing and this thing doesn't work on Mac as advertised on standalone with this interface. I'd appreciate some help on this. Thanks in advance.
  3. I have searched high and low and have not found a straightforward answer. I have an HD500x on the way and a pair of Rokit 6 G3 to pair with it. The Rokit 6's have the following inputs: Balanced XLR Balanced TRS(1/4" jack) Unbalanced RCA I believe I have read that it is preferred to use the unbalanced 1/4" output on the HD500X as the XLR output signal is low. Can I connect the 1/4" unbalanced out to the 1/4" balanced TRS on the Rokits? What cable should I be using? Or should I use a 1/4" unbalanced to RCA cable? I am so confused! Thanks for the help.
  4. Hey Folks, Just starting to get used to my Helix LT. There's only one guitar input on the back panel. Wondering what guys do when using multiple guitars (ie: acoustic and electric) on stage? I've used an AB pedal with my last board but don't really want to have to include one in my setup. Can one of the sends/returns be set up to accept a guitar input? Thanks Randy
  5. JTV-59 & POD HD500x users: How do you use the "Guitar in pad/normal"-switch on the POD HD? I feel and read that the PUps on the 59 are very hot, so I use "pad" to prevent peaking the gain-stages at the POD.
  6. Hi. Can someone please verify the behavior of the chosen input-type of a patch. I have a traditional e-guitar, a Variax 600 and a JTV-59 and I have recognised a strange behavior, I would like to understand. For every type of listed guitar I have a setlist with similar patches and every setlist contains patches where the input-type (guitar, variax, variax mags) is chosen on the level of the preset (not global). I thought this would be necessary to get the different guitar-types to work. Today I recognised that I was playing in a wrong setlist on my POD HD500 (backup-device, no X) using a VDI-cable. This was my main setlist where I have selected "Variax Mags" as the on and only input (2. is the unused "Aux"). So I wondered why there ever was a tone and I could switch models too? So I like to ask if there is a fallback logic which I can count on, so I can reduce the needed setlists to a minimum. I recognised that "Variax Mags" allows a fallback to "Variax". But what about playing with Input "Variax Mags" and storing a chosen model and/or tune when playing my JTV? Does the stored state overwrite the chosen input-type on a preset-base? And is there the possibility to fallback to "guitar" if I play a "Variax" or "Variax Mags" preset too? Unfortunately I am not able to test this by myself because I have left my POD HD500x and my two other guitars at rehearsal and just have my POD HD500 and my V600 in reach for the next week. I always play VDI-cables on both Variax. Thank you in advance, Sascha
  7. Hello to everyone. I connect the guitar to the Guitar In and doesn´t work. Apparently HD500X is OK but does not get the sound from the guitar. Volume and Master up and nothing. I actívate the tuner and the screen is clean, play a string and doesn´t no appear on the screen. OK: guitar, amp and cables but Guitar Input and Aux In don´t work. I have reset the unit and the problema persists. I would appreciate any help. Thanks.
  8. Hi everyone, I bought my pod hd500x last and I've been loving. Truly an amazing tool. I have been using my guitar plugged in guitar input, and run backtracks trough the aux input. But today, from nowhere, the pod started to apply the preset in usage to the aux input audio, although when using other presets the aux input audio is now being cut out. I tried changing the input settings, but that isn't solving my problem. Could someone provide some help solving this issue? Thanks in advance.
  9. Hi everyone, hope I did my search right. I couldn't find what I am looking for. So, here it is. I play mandolin and don't want to lug an amp with me. So, I made a patch I called Mandolin in my HD. My Variax JTV 89F and other guitars use the regular guitar inputs. So, I wanted my Mandolin patch to use the Aux input. My question is, I only want my Aux input 1 source when I call up my Mandolin patch, and input 1 to be guitar for any other patch. I can't seem to get this to change back and forth to Aux or to guitar as I change patches. I won't have my HD edit connected to when I am on stage so, I would like my patches to control my input sources. Any suggestions?
  10. Hi everyone. Ive recently purchased a POD studio GX and i can't seem to get any audio input. Im running OS X 10.10.4 and driver version 7.5.7. Pod Farm starts up correctly and i can get output via the GX in cubase but the box itself doesn't see any input signal from my guitar. Im using a brand new cable and i know the guitar is electronically sound. Ive tried everything i can think of (i even returned the first unit i bought as i assumed it to have a faulty input jack). Is anyone else running a GX on 10.10.4? Is the something else i can do to fix this, maybe a legacy driver? Any advice is gratefully received. Cheers!
  11. Hey there! Here is the deal: Yesterday for the first time I tried recording direct input guitar using my UX2. I'm using an active guitar and the manual says specifically that in this case you need to connect your guitar to the PAD input. I did exactly that, but the resulting wave was very small and barely audible. This makes it impossible to work with, because I can't really hear if I'm playing the part correctly and I also can't see where to crop the take. I tried switching to the NORM pad and suddenly the result was perfect. I could both see and hear everything very well now. But the manual says I'm supposed to be clipping if i use an active instrument with the NORM input. But I'm not. It just works. In the attachments you'll find the snapshots of both NORM and PAD input takes. What am I doing wrong? Is my interface broken? Thanks! NORM INPUT.bmp PAD INPUT.bmp
  12. Hi. I switched from Variax 600 to JTV-59 TSB and find some problems for which I hope somebody can enlighten me. Using input 1 "Variax Mags" and input 2 "Variax" seems to lift the signal, so I have chosen "Aux" on second input path. Same on all patches which are using the modeling exclusively (bank 2). I use just one centered path, so path B is muted at all. But there are questions appearing... is "Aux" the best choise for a deaktivated signal-path? what happens in case 2 when I play 1/4 and batteries are weak? Is there still a mags-fallback, even if the second input is deactivated? My first bank is optimized for the mags. My 2nd bank is optimized for modeling. Both banks are configurated path-wise as described above... ...but why is the modeling-knob on the JTV enlighted, when I chosse patch C and D in my 1st bank? They seem to be configurated the same way as A and B  In my 2nd bank it is patch B where the light is off    I am really confused at the moment  This behavior can be reproduced with or without USB/HD Edit connection.
  13. I've never bought or tried any line6 products but I'm looking for a new rack FX unit. If I used a POD HD Pro I would intend on having it connected via the 4CM to my amp head (traditional valve head and 4x12) and also to a PA system. I wondered if any of you could answer some questions for me. 1) Assuming that the guitar, microphone and line inputs being used at the same time, can you route the following simultaneously... Guitar signal with fx but without cab modelling to the unbalanced outputs (going to a valve amp and a 4x12) Guitar signal with fx / cab modelling, microphone and line inputs to the balanced outputs (going to a PA system) 2) It is my understanding that the POD HD Pro can also be used as a USB audio interface for DAW. Can it provide separate audio interface signals for guitar, microphone and line inputs at the same time (i.e. can i record a guitar track, a vocal track and a line input track on my DAW simultaneously using the POD HD Pro as my audio interface)? Cheers! Paul
  14. Hi all, I've just upgraded from Amplifi 150 to FH1500 so I'm not too sure about the input/outputs yet. One reason I upgraded was that I could play both electric and acoustic through the amp. I'm not the sound man in the band and the one that is isn't too happy about line6 but I am. Question; can I plug both electric and acoustic in at the same time? I have an Acoustic with XLR out and a Variax Standard connected with a Line6 G10 so which inputs would I use. That might sound a bit basic, but it would really help if anyone could help. Line 6, user manuals would really help. Stew
  15. Excellent report. Last night the Helix with FW 2.0 knocked it out of the park. Great tone, many compliments (including my wife who is very critical ... which I actually admire and enjoy), and great band mix. Using the Global EQ, setting the output to max letting the mixer channel control signal, and just playing was very easy and extremely enjoyable. I didn't get to the snapshots of any of my presets during the 4 hour show so at this point the Z value was not addressed nor did it in any way detract my tone from FH. Thought maybe someone would like to get a report on this. That's my story and ... Dennis
  16. Hello, my Line 6 UX2 has suddenly stopped working. I had had intermittent problems with it but it worked fine for a week or so, and suddenly stopped receiving any input from any of my guitars, all of which are working perfectly with my amplifier. If I set up my UX2 as a default playback device in the Windows mixer and play audio, the needle moves but all I hear through the UX2s headphone jack is a high pitched whine. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling Pod Farm 2, the latest drivers, and toggling settings in the Windows mixer. I have also tried the device on multiple computers, my two desktops and my laptop, all running Windows 10. Line 6 license manager authorises the UX2 and my computers fine. I have tried setting different inputs in the Line 6 control panel applet but still, it is not working. Is there anything I can do?
  17. There's lots input and output options with the Firehawk line. Here's a breakdown. First let's look at what's the same on both units. USB port for updating firmware and use as an I/O interface. Variax input for any Line 6 Variax guitars 1/4" Stereo headphones (This will cut the speaker off on the 1500) 1/4" Stereo out XLR Stereo out 1/4" Stereo FX Send and Return Bluetooth Wireless for use with the Firehawk Remote app and any other Bluetooth streaming device Firehawk FX unique: 9VDC input for use with the DC3g power supply 1/4" jack for use with a outboard expression pedal (compatible with Line 6 EX1 and Mission Engineering EP1-L6) Firehawk 1500 unique: IEC power cable jack FBV cable jack for use with FBV 3 or FBV MKII MIDI in and out/thru Check out the Midi implementation chart in the manual for details XLR+1/4" Stereo Combo jacks with Gain Adjustment Knob. This is to be used with any source that you want the 1500 to be a FRFR stereo monitor. Like a Pod, Helix, or even an iPhone to play music.
  18. Hello. Is it possible to connect 2 guitars to the L3t and send only 1 output to the FOH? Here's the scenario: 1 guitarist is using a Kemper and has his own amp. He sends his signal to the FOH through the kemper. However since he is on the other side of the stage, I would like to hear his guitar on my L3t. (sort of a monitor for myself) Now, I'm running my guitar into a Pod Hd Pro X into the L3t and would like to send only my signal to the FOH. (sort of a reference speaker / monitor) The hiccup is that I use stereo patches. Is this possible?
  19. helllo my fellow man, definitely have been dying to create my first pod post and im already a year old user, procrastination is a harlot but uh this here sitiuation had to be brought up to the boys for this here noobeh. thanks aton. so here is my desired signal chain: ---PODHDPRO--crownXLS1500 rack'd amp--PeaveySP-2 600wPA speakers--- First question: shall i run the outputs of the pod hd into the crownXLS using balanced(XLR) or unbalanced(1/4) i plan to use the pa speaker for all around use, from band practice, to live, and to just me riffing off on myself. i want clarity like most and im playing an electric guitar with a back track from desktop btw... Second question: i also have a yamaha emx 640 6channel mixer i could put in the signal chain right after the power amp and then into pa speakers but honestly i have no clue if thats is useless or necessary..? (i have been using studio monitors when writing but im just tired of it sounding like runny shards when i plug into my spider iv combo amp or our other pa system for practice) Third question: would you guys recomend using an old arse pa like the peavey sp-2ti 600w for this setup or should i go with another rig setup approach. i always thought just my pod hd pro to pa system would do but apparently not but im not to sure on this point, so far im just following directions of a god-like guitarist friend of miine (refering to new power amp addition). id like to say the help would be for the greater good lol but i appreciate all who read this.
  20. I've read a few useful guides (meambobbo amongst others) on the subject of using one or both inputs to get a "purer" input signal. Consequently, since i've had my HD i've run as one input only believing there is a trade-off running both inputs parallel. Obviously, the main factor being a loss of level when disabling input 2 (set to variax when using a regular electric guitar on input 1) Now i'm wondering how much of this is psychological but i will need to tweak all my patches if i change this. I'm interested to know who else feels there is any "loss" as a result of setting input 2 to "same" or "guitar" through phasing issues? Perhaps on paper or a bench test there is some time-shift, but can anyone comment on a loss of tone through setting inputs the same? What settings do the rest of you use for inputs 1 & 2? thanks all
  21. A few months ago, I got a new microphone and preamp and did a handful of recordings though my old TonePort KB37. The preamp has a balanced TRS output and an XLR output, so I connected it with a balanced TRS cable to the KB37's Line 1 input. Because I just wanted a dry vocal signal, I didn't install Pod Farm or any of that stuff, just the driver. Recently, I've switched to recording on my POD HD500X. To record dry vocals, I just switch on the tuner (in bypass mode) or use an empty preset. However, I noticed that my recordings sounded very different. So, I did some side-by-side comparisons. I also tested the Mic input on the KB37. What I found out is that everything sounds exactly the same except the KB37's line input. I've attached some samples for comparison (the HD500X recording was connected with a TRS cable via the Aux input). Is there any explanation as to why the line input on the KB37 sounds this way? Can I fix it? Should I redo all of those recordings? Here are the samples: KB37 Mic Input: mic.mp3 KB37 Line Input: line.mp3 HD500X Aux Input: hd500x.mp3
  22. Hi, I´ve already seen some people with my problem. But I still didn´t understand it. The problem is that when recording my electric guitar in Ableton, through the UX1 I get a very low input signal. Since it is convenient for modifying it afterwards to have a larger one, I would like to know how to get a good input signal.. If anyone knows please let me know. Thanks
  23. I know there's a few topics already on this sort of thing but I am the ultimate n00bie when it comes to this. I was wondering how to go about recording with my HD Pro via my UX2 into my DAW, YES I realise you can record direct with the HD Pro connected via usb to the computer but I heard that you can't re-amp/change tones on the fly once the track is recorded. Here's what I tried POD HD PRO -> (14")OUTPUTS L & R -> UX2 INPUTS L & R - > UX2 -> COMPUTER(via USB) I know I'm clearly doing something majorly wrong here so any advice would be very much appreciated. I'd also like to know if you can open HD Pro Edit in your DAW or simply have to have it open outside of the DAW to record. I know these are probably otherwise stupid questions but forgive me, I'm used to recording with the simplistic luxuries of pod farm. ALSO Is there a way to record both dry and wet signals(simultaneously of course) in your DAW(mine is mixcraft 6.... I know) without connecting the HD Pro via an interface?
  24. I bought my UX2 one year ago and it worked fine. I've been recording voice and instrument tracks last year without problem. Today, after months without using my UX2, I wanted to record an instrument track, but when I pluged my guitar and selected the instrument input in POD Farm 2 nothing happened. The analog panel of the UX2 shows that it's not receiving input signal. I already checked the guitar and the cable on my amp and they work fine so the problem is from the UX2. I tried then with my mic and that input works fine, and my UX2 is receiving the feedback signal from my computer too. What can I do to make the instrument input work again?
  25. Hi, just looking for some quick help. I'm currently using a Line 6 UX1 with PodFarm 2.5 through Logic Pro 9. I've had no issue with recording guitars, but when I went to use the microphone, I noticed there was no input. I have looked through a few other forums and seen where the option to change input is meant to be found and have had no luck within Pod Farm (Please see screenshot for view of problem area) I have tried running Pod Farm in standalone mode too and also had the same issue. I have all current drivers and licenses installed and authorised, this is my only issue with any of the Line6 software I currently have. Help much appreciated, thankyou Tom
