  1. Title basically. Ever since I have had the HXS, the tuner does not work if the HXS is connected to my computer in an interface mode. It is fine when connected via USB, but, NOT as an interface. The moment the computer recognizes it as an interface, the tuner goes bonkers and runs around not recognizing any note/pitch. Is this by design or should I be doing something to correct for this? Thanks.
  2. Hey all, Has anyone run into this issue? it works on my desktop, but my surface pro 7 where I do on the go recordings cant recognize the helix as an interface. I see the "aiso helix" but it always comes back with a "failed to use" notification. Any help would be wonderous! thanks
  3. Hey guys, been searching for a while and haven't found anything about this. So, the thing is I'm looking for an audio interface to record my actual amp with a microfone. The thing is that, sometimes, I like to play quietly, using just headphones or want different flavors or just jam and play with different tones than my amp is able to provide. Would the POD Pro translate the mic signal well enough or is it possible that it adds something, some color to the sound? Should I go for an m-audio or a focusrite instead and use an amp sim?
  4. Is anybody else having a hard time with high latency using the Pod Go as an interface? I'm using the Pod Go through Studio One and the latency is basically making the Pod Go worthless as an interface.
  5. Hi All - I had a spare XLR>1/4 TRS adaptor lying around (not an impedance matching transformer), and I plugged my Shure SM58 into the L/Mono of my HX stomp and set the input on global parameters to line. The volume was still VERY quiet and it basically didn't work. I notice on the Main L/R there is an In-Z selector (auto, 10k, 22k, 32k, etc) which I had set to "auto," but there is no option to go down as low as the mic output impedance (150 ohm). Then I started looking on youtube to try and figure out why this wasn't working and found a video that talks about the need for an impedance matching transformer - yeah yeah, I know I prob. should have researched it first. BUT, I didn't see anything in the manual that said I shouldn't do this and since the mic is a passive device, I would never have considered there would be any risk of damaging the HX stomp. However, the guy in the video mentions potentially "blowing up your hardware" by NOT using one of those, and that gets me super concerned. Did I bugger-up my HX stomp in some way?! Man I hope not! Please help me sleep at night!!!
  6. In trying to use my HD500x as an audio interface, the audio level is EXTREMELY low... barely audible. Anyone else experiencing this or have a fix for it?
  7. I recently picked up a Variax 300 & was wondering if I could edit/update workbench by plugging my guitar into my hd500 pedal via ethercon cable & then plugging the hd500 into my Mac via usb cable? Or will I need to buy the vdi interface to be able to access workbench? Variax 300 - Pod HD500 Macbook Pro (2010) osx 10.11.6
  8. Hi all Longtime lurker, first time poster. I've had a Variax 600 for years and have finally got around to getting a USB interface for it (one of the newer ones) and cable in order to use Workbench. Now I've read many posts about this (big thank you for that!) so made sure I downloaded the standard Workbench designed for an older Windows (I run Windows 10), get the 32bit Java, Line 6 Monkey etc but it doesn't recognise the guitar when plugged in with the CAT cable. I've got 2 green lights on the interface, it seems like all the drivers are up to date but I go into Workbench and I just get the message 'no device detected' even though it can detect the USB interface? Any ideas? anything I'm doing wrong? Thanks Nick
  9. Hi, I'm using a Macbook. I connect my pod hd500x using USB cable. From the Macbook sound control, I can see from the input that the computer get the guitar signal. But there is not way to ear anything using any output. At this point my goal is to use bluetooth headphone connected to my computer, but even with internal speaker, I do not ear anything. How can I get it to work? Thanks in advance.
  10. Scenario: I have my Focusrite audio interface setup as my In/Out device Audio settings. I have my HX Stomp connected to the Mac via USB. I do not want to use the Stomp as an audio interface. So, I turn on the Focusrite, launch Logic, all is good. The Focusrite shows up under Audio device as my in/out. However, when I turn on the Stomp, Logic “grabs” it and makes it my Audio device. I can’t find a way to stop logic from recognizing the Stomp as the Audio device. I would like to use HX Edit with the Stomp, but not have it be my audio device. Current work around is to unplug the USB cable and only plug it in when I need it. But it just seems that there must be a way to stop Logic from using it as an Audio device but still allow HX Edit to be usable with the Stomp. many help would be greatly appreciated. Mac using Catalina and current Logic Pro. Stomp is current firmware.
  11. Hey Guys! I got my hands on an HX Stomp and today we are going to run through how to get up and running using it as your audio interface on a Windows 10 PC and with Presonus Studio One 4.0 I walk you through setup and how to record the processed guitar as well as the DI or, Direct Input so that you can reamp at a later time.

  13. Hello All - Writing to get some expertise on an issue I'm having with the 6 button looper on the Helix (LT if it matters)... The issue is simple, and I hope there's a simple answer but I can't for the life of me figure out what happened. When engaging the six button looper that has been assigned to one of the stomp switches the looper interface used to come onto the screen and show me which foot switches were assigned to effects/rec/stop ect. But this is no longer the case... NOW when I hit the looper the foot switches will light up - like they should, showing the looper is armed, and it does work - but the screen remains on the signal chain view, and I get confused... What did I do? How do I get the looper interface to come back onto the screen!?
  14. It was hard for me to realize it or maybe it is, but there is a sound cut when I finish recording, that is, in the recording track some sound cuts and sound saturation are recorded as if the sound was burned, I do not know if it's a problem or so is the product, please answer me posdata, I do not speak English I am using a translator from Spanish to English Thank you
  15. This is my elaboration on Round Trip Latency of Helix hardware used as audio interface based on research on closed fb group https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10156514192780269&set=pcb.1077888115728194&type=3&theater&ifg=1 This topic is hardly relevant if you are monitoring direct. Helix hardware latency is 1,8ms from AD/DSP/DA (measured for one DSP Path), no matter what buffer or sampling frequency you pick. If you use another interface for monitoring/recording it is not relevant neither. It is 2,70 firmware time. OSX - you have a choice of two drivers: 1. Multi sampling rate Core Audio driver. You get the lowest latency of 15ms using 32 samples buffer but this seems not to be stable (tested on 8th gen i7) . Safer buffers of 64, 128 samples are at 20ms range. 2. Class Compliant 48kHz driver at 64 samples buffer gives 8ms RTL. EDIT: I do not know if 8ms RTL is REPORTED by the driver or it can be REAL RTL. Windows - you have a choice of two drivers: 1. Supplied ASIO driver. Here are my figures for Round Trip Latencies: 21ms on "Small" 128 samples buffer@48kHz 17ms on "Extra Small" 64 samples buffer@48kHz 15ms on "Small" 128 samples buffer@96kHz 10ms on "Extra Small" 64 samples buffer@96kHz - but this setting is unusable because of artifacts. Bad news for virtual instruments players are 3/4 of RTL is on the output side. 2. ASIO4ALL driver - it is rather overlay for WDM driver, not compatible with Pro Tools. Round Trip Latencies are: 5ms at 128 samples buffer@48kHz 3ms at 64 samples buffer@48kHz 3ms at 128 samples buffer@96kHz Good news or virtual instruments players are buffers are 50/50 input/output. EDIT: I have proven that they are in fact REPORTED RTLs. They are fake numbers! I made my Windows tests using using Reaper (64bit), desktop Windows 10 PC with 3th gen i5 CPU, 16GB RAM. Reaper session was loaded with 5 Hx Native instances. CPU usage was monitored with Windows Task Manager and for the same 128 buffers on both drivers was at 30%. 7ms pictured vs mine 5ms is because I switched off additional 32 samples buffers used for latency compensation in ASIO4ALL (for aggregating devices?) Some pictures to back it up:
  16. Hi all, Just did the firmware update on my helix LT (2.70) and It now seems to have a stability issue when using Helix as an audio interface. Every half hour or so, the usb seems to disconnect for about a second or so and switchs back to the inboard sound card of the PC. It then reconnects as quickly as it has quit and works fine for another half hour approx. I was wondering if anyone had had this problem too? Helix is the only device connected via USB and if I don't use it as an interface (say I only use the midi over usb fuction) It works fine... I don't reject the PC being a possible cause for this problem but it didn't behave that way prior to update... Thanks
  17. Okay so I know Helix isn’t made for this but it almost works! I have a Behringer UMC404 which I use 3 mics plugged into XLR inputs. works great. but I’d like to use a compressor and some vocal effects live. I’ve gone from the Behringer to the Helix via the inserts on the back using a Y cable into the send and return of the effects loop o the helix. It works but I think because the helix output is Send 1/2 Send 3/4 for some reason, The first mic in input one suddenly picks up Mic input 2. so what I mean is when I use the mic plugged into the first input it also comes through input 1 and 2. everything else is fine except I can’t seem to get input 1 and 3 to be serperate. im sure no one has done this and not much advice but if anyone has an idea please let me know! sorry for my grammar etc I’m typing Ona. Japanese keyboard and English is hard to change to.
  18. I just got into the cubase program that came with my spider v 240hc, it works great and I have the drivers set up and installed correctly so I can record and playback with no issues. I am curious if there is a way to set up output to another device though because I dont like having to plug my mic into the phones jack on the amp, like I shuold be able to monitor form my mic out, or from my pc headphone jack. Is there a way to configure the spider v driver in cubase as input only, with another device (yeti mic) set for the output? Also can you configure multiple devices for input so I can have my mic and amp inputting adio simultanously? This might be a question for steinberg cubase forums but sine the programs is included with the amps I thought maybe someone here might have some info.
  19. Hi, I was wondering if there are vdi cables available to purchase in Europe? I am searching for a better quality that the one from line6 offers. Some previous posts discuss about such alternatives, but they seems to be only available in the US. Thanks for any advice you may have!
  20. Hi there, I really would like to use the Helix USB interface within my DAW (I use Reaper on Windows 7) alongside my desktop audio interface, to which my monitors are connected. From what I found online the only way to do that is using Asio4All instead of the native ASIO drivers. Sadly, the interface I currently use does not play nicely at all with asio4all and the helix. I have Behringer UMC202HD which I bought as a pure monitoring solution and for the occasional amp DI recording. Trying to use it in conjunction with the Helix in Asio4All results in all kinds of crackling, popping, skipping, you name it, no matter what settings I choose. I'd like to know if anyone here can name suitable interfaces that work together with the Helix and Asio4All. I don't need many I/O-channels; one or two inputs, two symmetrical outputs and a headphone out (preferably with its own volume knob), and I don't really want to spend hundreds of Euros either. So, can anyone name (small) interfaces that are known to work with asio4all and the Helix? Thanks! P.S. connecting the monitors to the Helix is not an option for various reasons (cable management at my desktop and the lower XLR and 1/4" outs on the Helix not reachable [there's an isolation transformer blocking those in the pedalcase] being the major ones).
  21. I can't seem to find a direct answer any where so I'll reach out here. I recently acquired Pro Tools LE 8(mostly because it's cheaper and will do what I need it to) and was wondering if it is at all possible to run the POD HD Pro as an interface or will I have to seek out a separate interface in order to run the POD through? I came across something that said everything Pro Tools 8.0.5 and prior required a separate interface. If it turns out I need an interface I will need some recommendations. Thanks in advance.
  22. Hi everyone! I'm new to the forum and joined just after buying a jtv-69 used. It came with a battery and a charger, but no digital interface in the case. So my question is: what exactly is needed in order to connect it to my macbook and eventually to workbench hd? will a regular ethernet cable work? do I have to use the line6 cable? even on that cable, it's written that it's meant for digital connection to a PodXT and the like - so I'm not sure that this is meant to be used to connect the guitar to a computer. Maybe it's mentioned somewhere but I honestly could not find the complete info. is the "DVI" the cable itself? or some kind of a converter/adapter? assuming I have the line6 cable, does it connect to a usb or the ethernet port? how does this chain look exactly? If you could help a newbie I would be very grateful!
  23. Hello everyone! I am wondering, if there is a way to use usb-interface while editing my patches in pod hd. Please, take a look on the scheme I drew: https://2.downloader.disk.yandex.ru/preview/d5273195fd5c327879d31dc73dd54ca87673a70ce179525cba8f0271ed650d34/inf/TBwbN1hIDpW1khBkar4de-IFiC4WnK6FcoTIEK6bD5Q5fXm9B-fDG1cFLLJN5lx8lC1mHcivs-ZJVtKMFE8eXw%3D%3D?uid=33198966&filename=scheme.png&disposition=inline&hash=&limit=0&content_type=image%2Fpng&tknv=v2&size=1280x776 I want my pc apps not to use POD as soundcard except POD's editing software. So my scenario is simple. I want to play a guitar while playing some songs in any player app. I can edit patches to create a sound I like. But for master volume control I use my usb-interface (just because it stands on the desk, it is more comfortable than to bend to the floor where POD is). When I'm done playing, I just turn the POD off and continue browsing/playinggames/watchingporn using usb-interface. So, again, I need to connect POD's USB to PC only for editing patches, while all the playback is performed by usb-interface. Sorry for my english and my explanation. If there is any simpler solution, I would be glad to hear it. Thank you!
  24. Is it possible to use the midi in/thru on the Helix to feed midi notes to a soft synth on my computer via a usb connection? I got it all hooked up to the midi send on my keyboard and my DAW was only recognizing one note/chord every 5-6 seconds. It would ignore all other input in the interim. If anyone has a walkthrough on how to set this up I'd appreciate it. Thanks!
  25. Hello. I got a question, is it possible to set up the dB Meters on the interface seperately for Mic & Headphones?
