  1. Hi, I'm trying to change the parameters that are controlled by the knobs 1-5 below the display. I want to assign the knobs to specific parameters of different blocks. I'm not sure of the terminology for this, I've tried to look it up in the user manual and thruough the settings and couldn't find it. Thank you!
  2. Hey guys, I'm still getting used to the transition to using a multi effects unit after being used to pedals for a long time. I know generally to dial in a sound on an unfamiliar pedal you 'start at 12 O'clock and go from there.' My question is when you load an effect, are the control parameters considered "12 O'clock" when the bar graphic is half full, or when the knob is in it's default state. Thank you!!
  3. Hello All, I've searched through these forums and haven't found an issue/post about this, maybe someone can help? I've had the HD500X for about 4 years now, been working well or acting as it should this whole time. Just recently noticed I'm having an issue with one of my controller knobs/pots. It is the "MID" knob. There seems to be a lag, or a "dead space" between where it shows the position on the mini screen, and where the knob is actually positioned. For example, I'll move the mid position all the way to 0%, then move the knob to 25% (9 o'clock). Though the actual knob is at 25%, it shows only 2% on the mini screen. The readings are way off by like 25%, until the knob gets to about 75%, then it seems to be closer to or on the money between the two. Working my way back from 100% down to 0%, it just jumps down way too fast below where I'm actually at. It's the only knob/pot that is having this issue, and I can't figure out why or how to solve it. I've tried global resetting, re-updating the flash, test mode/calibration screen. I have no idea if there's anything I can do myself to fix this issue. If anyone has had this sort of problem, and can help point me in the right direction I would appreciate it very much! Thanks
  4. Hi all, I have been owning a Helix pedalboard for two years and played lots of gigs with it. While I am very happy with it, last night I noticed that a couple of the pots under the display were loose. Before opening the unit and see whether I can tighten them up, I would like to know if that is actually possible. Problem is that, while gigging, it is very easy to accidentally hit those pots with the foot. Luckily they still work, however Line 6 should consider some kind of protection to avoid that in the next Helix generation.
  5. I wonder if it could be possible to connect some midi controller like the Behringer BCR2000 to my HD500X. The idea is to really get my hands on the effects (or at least the most commonly used ones) so that I could edit the effects parameters directly from the external controller. For instance, it would be nice to have a specific knob from the external controller to manage the amp drive (and other ones for each eq parameter) so that, independently of the current program I am in, it could be possible to make slight adjustments straightforwardly from those external controller's knobs.
  6. Hey guys, I totally understand the patch editing in the HD500X. To change the params of the amp, I use those big knobs on the unit: Drive, Bass, Mid, Treble, Presence, Volume. However, I feel much more comfortable using the 4 small knobs below the screen, the ones we use to edit everything else. The big knobs have 2 problems: 1) the start position of the knob is never the same of the parameter set. So when you move the big knob, you almost never can go back to the original value. 2) They are imprecise, it's hard to choose an specific numeric value. I remember in the old days of the great X3 Live, when editing the amp settings, I had the choice to use the big knobs, or the 4 small knobs below the screen. So I wonder: to edit the amp settings, is there any way to use the 4 small knobs on the HD500X?
  7. HI, needing replacement knobs for M5..Anybody know what type will fit? maybe from this store...or other.. http://www.mammothelectronics.com/Guitar-Effect-Pedal-Knobs-s/25.htm Tnx!
  8. Hi guys, I'm having a strange problem with my HD400. The thing is it randomly turns up or down any of the FX1, FX2, FX3 knobs of the "Smart FX" controls and the reverb knob too. It can be seen in the screen when it happens. I'm not quite sure what causes it, but I suspect that it has to do with the footswitches. Maybe hitting them a little harder than necessary causes this failure. Does anyone knows if it can be solved or fixed?
  9. Buying replacement knobs is a rip off. The knobs cost $11 and it's $10 for shipping. Come on! That's awful! Also, the email preference does not work, it keeps signing me up from everything. So I will unsubscribe from it all and get another knob somewhere else.
  10. Hi, I purchased a JTV 69 from a shop (display model) the guy said the battery had run out so couldn't see the Variax mode. I already have a Variax 500 and so a flat battery didn't seem much of a problem. Since then I've charged the battery and on power up the Model selector knob and altered tuning knob flash red continuously . I've looked through manuals and online threads and appears simply pushing the model select knob should be enough but not matter what i try the flashing just continues. I've tried different power sources (DI box and batteries) and powering up with 1/4 inch while having model select knob pressed down and pickup selected in the middle but still no result. I will be contacting line 6 tomorrow but in the meantime has anyone got a solution or suggestions?
  11. I just got a spider IV 150 2x12 combo amp and at the store the preset knob was acting funny, skipping presets not turning like it should then when I got it home the knob stopped working altogether. I spin the knob to select presets and the knob just spins and spins and does not change my presets and the knob is VERY loose and wobbles. Has anyone else had this issue or have an idea of what I can do???
  12. I need a set of knobs for my Echo Pro and Line 6 has told me that they are no longer available. If anyone has a broken echo pro and would like to sell me the knobs off of it, please email me fonesy@gmail.com thanks
  13. I know it's a stupid question, but I am finding very hard to remove the tone-volume knobs from my guitar to replace them...I can not remove it...Every time i try I am observing that the pickguard is pulled also a bit, I am afraid that I will destroy something... What to do?
  14. As the title says, when I select an amp model and then begin to either change the drive or bass settings, the setting I put seems to be affecting the amp model selector - ie if I choose the 'metal' channel and start turning the gain to 9 o clock, 'Class A' is being selected on the amp models. This hasn't happened before, and it's incredibly annoying. Is there a way for this to be fixed?
  15. Hey guys! New to the forums. I have one simple question. I just ordered a new set of knobs for the spider valve and noticed that the knobs braking are quite common. My problem is that i can't seem to get the old broken knob to come off. Anyone else out there with this problem? Any help is much appreciated Thank you, Nick
