  1. I'm writing a song that uses a square or saw tooth tremelo effect synced to the beat with a 100% intensity for the primary rhythm element. I've found that though you can sync the tempo to the track, you can't control the start of the tremelo cycle with the DAW to sync it up with other elements. This means that each time you start the track, the phase of the cycle may not be what you expect. That makes it very difficult to sync up properly... For example, I've set up a sine wave generator, then an instance of Helix Native with a single Modulation > Mono > Tremelo: I've then set up my DAW to enable the effect at a particular spot in the "song" so that the effect would theoretically start the cycle the same each time. Then, I rendered the same section of song 3 times and added them to the project. As you can see, the first bar is the solid block sine wave, and then the tremelo effect is kicked on. You'll notice that the phase of each cycle is quite different, even though they all are turned on at the exact same time. (Three may have been me accidentally leaving one unmuted before the next render) Next, I attempted to bypass the Helix plugin entirely, rather than just the tremelo effect block. The same behavior is exhibited. The start time of the cycle is entirely unpredictable, and appears to simply be running non-stop after you load the plugin into memory or something. As suspected, this is true for other Modulation effects as well. Here's the same test using a whole not with the Script Mod Phase effect: Helix Native needs to honor the Host Sync's start event (assuming that actually exists) to reset it's LFO for Modulation effects. Otherwise, results are unpredictable and potentially unusable during rendering. :( I haven't tested the Helix Floor pedal to see if the bypass/enable of a trem effect resets the LFO, but I wouldn't be surprised if it had the same basic problem...
  2. Hi guys, is it possible to set the HX Effects in a way so that the effects types that include “movement” (meaning sweeps, ramp up/down etc.) - for example the Throbber filter - begin from the starting position every time the effect is engaged or on snapshot/preset change? In my case I was looking to create a lo-pass sweep and I was able to achieve this result by using the Throbber filter, pretty much the way I needed (I’d prefer the option to control the starting and ending frequencies, but still). The problem is that the sweep is always “moving” while I need it to start over from the beginning when I engage the snapshot. In another thread a user (btw thanks duncann) wrote that this is possible to reset the LFOs by sending a CC64 command to the HX Effects or by touching the tap tempo footswitch once, but I need to do this automatically on snapshot change, without having to send a CC from another device or phisically touching the tap tempo. Is that possible? Thanks a lot
  3. Had my Helix for a few days. Is there a way, other than the expression pedal to modulate parameters ? My Boss GT100 could do this & I assumed Helix would but I cant see anything to do this. Thanks!!
  4. I've been asking for an auto wah since I got the HD500. The mutron model doesn't cut it for me, and I've missed the "plain but nice" auto wah on the XT Live. Why not, instead of a dedicated auto wah, create two kinds of modifiers for parameters? One, an LFO that can be tempo synced, and two, a touch/pick dynamics sensor, both assignable to any parameter that can be now controlled by the expression pedals. That would make customizable auto wahs and "auto" lots of things If you like the idea, vote on it http://line6.ideascale.com/a/dtd/Auto-wah-or-auto-everything!-for-Helix/727014-23508
  5. Hi everyone I recently purchased the line 6 Helix after researching different options. I am a bit gutted to find that I can't setup an autowah since parameters cannot be automated according to tempo. I upgraded from a Boss GT8 where I could do this. Basically telling the unit to oscillate between the X and Y position constantly at 120bpm (or equivallent in milliseconds) I tried playing with the Mutant Filter (which I understand is based on the Mu-Tron) but I am not getting the fast and constant "up-and-down" sound that I need since the filter responds to the dynamycs of the string attack and I need the effect to be constant while doing fast 16-note string obstructions. I want to know if there is any way around this. If someone has been into a similar situation and has come up with some settings that could help. My bass player suggested getting a separate autowah and add it to the physical chain. However, I don't know to what extent the Helix would be able to control an external unit. I also bought the Helix in order to avoid the piling of different pedals/stompboxes and be able to rely on presets instead of switching settings and oscillators between songs while playing live. I saw this entry on the ideascale site but I don't know if this could become an upgrade soon and whether it is possible to get this via a simple upgrade of the firmware in the future https://line6.ideascale.com/a/dtd/Auto-wah-or-auto-EVERYTHING-for-Helix/727014-23508#idea-tab-comments I found a video of the settings I want to control (sorry about posting the link to another similar product) and want to know of any workarounds with the Helix. Any light so I can play the songs the way they sound on the record and still rely on the Helix. I have been regretting the buy because of this tbh Sorry for the long post and thanks for your help
