Hi I am wondering is there a way to upgrade my sound presets I made from line 6 spider IV to to be compatible with line 6 Spider V?
-
I’ve been a longtime line 6 user... from the dl4 when it first released, the m9, echo park, m13, pod hd, and now the helix lt i just wanted to say thank you... to everyone who built this unit... how crazy is it that we can have access to so many different amps and effects, constant FREE updates, and it sound so amazing?! It’s a joy whenever I power it on and strum a chord... I didn’t know where to email this, and didn’t want to open a support ticket just to say thanks... no one has to reply to this or anything like that... but it’s especially been great to have my helix during quarantine, and through this crazy year. It’s an amazing product and you guys should be proud.

So i ended up getting a UX2 POD studio for christmas, i just recently started trying to get it started up, due to my computer being on the fritz, sort of got it working and functioning without any problems so i think its safe (my computer) So back to the topic, i cannot get this to work for the life of me, and i haven't had the best expierence with line 6 products in the past. I've been scouting around trying to see what the problem is and what the solution will hopefully be. The driver won't install. line 6 monkey? won't dectect it or allow me to download/update the drivers. The liscense manager isn't detecting anything either. This was a NEW product unopened when i recieved it with the 2 discs. I registered it and need some serious advice on what to do with this. thanks for reading.

Line 6 don't sell replacement cables or accessories. Recently my Sonic Port VX stopped working and I think -working with Line 6 Customer services -I've narrowed down the issue to the lightning port cable. I found: Sonic port VX >line6 lightning cable>ios device = No response Sonic port VX >standard mini USB out> official apple USB to lightning adaptor>ios device = message on apple device saying "accessory requires too much power" Sonic port VX> standard mini USB out> powered USB hub connection> official apple USB to lightning adaptor>ios device = everything works... but this is not a convenient and portable solution. Sonic port VX> standard mini USB out> windows computer = works fine So whilst I can use Sonic port VX> standard mini USB out> powered USB hub connection> official apple USB to lightning adaptor>ios device, to get it to work -the whole thing is no longer mobile, losing one of the main elements that attracted me to device in the first place. Customer services say they can't sell me the lead, and have only 1 supplier in the UK I can use Sontec. Sontec told me a replacement cable is £56.81 -and it's Line6's fault. This is nearly same price as a brand new sonic port (which you can buy new for £63). If anyone has a spare they'd be willing to part with let me know! Otherwise I suppose I'll have to buy 2nd hand sonic port from ebay or something in hope the cable works...

Will there be an iOS or Android editor? Probably not, Helix's presets are extremely large, and syncing 1024 tones would take forever. As Helix is more at home in larger studios and on larger tours, it makes sense to support Mac/PC editing. Can I reamp? Yes, You can reamp two instruments simultaneously. You can even choose which two physical inputs will be sent dry to your DAW. Does Helix pass SysEx data via MIDI Thru? No. We actively filter out SysEx data through Helix. Does Helix have delay or reverb spillover? Delays, Reverbs and FX Loops have bypass trails, where they'll continue to ring out after being bypassed (if desired). But this currently no delay or reverb spillover when changing presets. Why isn't there a metal protection bar for the knobs? Helix's top panel is carved from a solid block of aluminum (like a Macbook Pro you can stomp on) and its side panels and treadle are solid aluminum as well. There's no metal protection bar because our 210 pound lead tester kicked the crap out of it and the metal knobs worked flawlessly. How do I get Helix's footswitch mapping to be like HD500X's? Stay in Preset footswitch mode. Then, the Global Settings > Footswitches menu, set: *Knob 2 (Preset mode Switches) to "Lower Row" *Knob 4 (Up/Down Switches) to "Banks" How do I customize a footswitch's label and LED color? There are two ways. *From the Footswitch Assign screen, as long as the current block is assigned to a footswitch, press Knob 6 (Customize) *From the Command Center screen, select Footswitch 1-6, 7-11, or Exp Toe and press Knob 6 (Customize) The Helix Modeling Engine Is this the same old HD engine? No, Helix utilizes an all new from the ground up advanced dual DSP processor architecture with HX models. Are ALL the models HX? Not quite. The reverbs and 8 our of 10 wahs are HD, but they've been enhanced and tweaked for inclusion in HX. The popular Line 6 custom amps Elektrik, Doom, and Epic are technically HD, but have been rebuilt inside the HX engine and many advantages of HX. All other amps, cabs, and effects have been modeled in HX from the ground up. I noticed some model names are the same as in the HD models packs. Are you sure they aren't HD? The all new models in the HD model packs came from the original Helix modeling sessions (except for the Pete Anderson Custom which is based on POD 2.0!), but they've been stripped down somewhat to run on the HD architecture. Where are the deep cab parameters? Instead of reso, thump, etc., Helix has mic distance, Low Cut, and High Cut. Model list/DSP Allocation Will the I see the DSP LIMIT REACHED message like in HD500X? Why are some items in the model list grayed out? Even though Helix has 2.3 times the DSP power of HD500X, and we have more efficient code optimization, HX models are notably more sophisticated than HD. In practice, you should get about 50% more blocks than HD500X and 60% more than HD500. However, the message popping up and telling you you've run out of DSP is gone. Instead, Helix intelligently grays out and skips over any models that can't be accommodated. How can I move a block from Path 1 to 2 (or vice versa) Currently, Helix cannot move blocks between paths. You can, however, copy and paste blocks from one path to the other (even in a different preset) How do I create parallel paths? 1. Highlight a block you want to move to a parallel path a press ACTION to "pick it up" 2. Move the joystick down to move the block to the parallel path. Troubleshooting I hear some distortion/clipping from my headphone out. Why? Helix's headphone out is designed to drive even high impedance studio headphones. If you use low impedance headphones, you may hear a bit of distortion when cranked all thew way. This is normal. Why is the AUX IN volume different from the guitar in? Helix's AUX IN has a 10k Ohm impedance, and is meant to accommodate guitars or basses with louder active pickups or line-level mono synths. My S/PDIF output is low The S/PDIF output is a copy of the internal levels. The master will not affect the output volume. If you are experiencing a quiet output with SPDF, you can add volume somewhere in the patch. Add channel volume on the amp model, or even output gain on a some dynamics. Remember that a lot of patches have lower db due to compression and EQ. Mystery Train has a lot of low end cut out of the patch that would lower the total db, but still keep the perceived volume around the same as something with higher db and more low end. Helix Rack and Control What's the difference between Helix and Helix Rack? Along with the Helix Control Remote, Helix Rack's workflow and feature set is virtually identical to that of Helix. Plus you get duplicate expression pedal jacks, a 1/4" analog bypass (buffered) output, AES/EBU in and Wordclock in with terminator switch. Presets can be freely shared across both units with no file conversion required. Is Helix Control powered from Helix Rack? Why is there a DC IN jack? Yes, Helix Control is powered from Helix Rack. if you leave its power switch on, turning Helix Rack on and off will also affect Helix Control. The DC IN is for very long cable lengths (TBD, but probably over 100 feet) and for possible future use. Helix Control does not ship with a DC-3G, as it's not necessary. Why does Helix control have a USB connector? For potential future use. Helix's Control firmware is updatable, but only while connected to the Helix Rack. which would be connected via USB to a Mac or PC. Do not connect Helix Control's local USB jack to a Mac/Pc, at last for now. Why is Helix Rack 3 spaces? Couldn't you have crammed it into 2 spaces? No, but we tried. The color screen is far too large and there are too many ins and outs to fit into 2RU. What kind of expression pedal do I use with my Helix? You can use either the Line 6 EX-1 or the Mission Engineering EP1-L6. Helix LT What am I not getting with the Helix LT? First, remember that the Helix modeling engine is exactly the same as the rack and main floor unit. All units in the Helix family will sound the same, and you will be able to transfer patches between them all. The biggest thing missing is the scribble strips and a must leaner I/O. Click here to check out all its specs. Is the on pedal screen the same? Yup, completely identical. Weights and Measurements Rack: 19 x 5.05 x 8.80 inches, 11.9 lbs Control: 17.09 x 9.46 x 2.58 inches, 7.3 lbs Floor: 22.05 x 11.85 x 3.58 inches, 14.7 lbs LT: 20.87 x 11.93 x 3.66 inches, 12.5 lbs

I installed the Spider V Remote amp plus the Line 6 updated (which did it's job, everything it's supposed to) and when I go to open the Spider V Remote software, it starts to open... and then just shuts down. I really need the software. I sold my other amp just to get the Line 6 Spider back specifically for the software and the presets you can download. Anyone had any ideas?

USB Compatibility with Line 6 Devices
Line6Tony posted a article in Computer Audio Set Up and Troubleshooting
Français Deutsch Q: Which type of USB is my Line 6 device compatible with? A: Most Line 6 USB products are compatible with USB 1.x and 2.0. The UX8 and POD X3 USB Devices are USB 2.0 exclusive devices. Connecting these to USB 1.x ports will result in failed connectivity. The following Line 6 units are compatible with all 3 types of USB Ports: Guitarport Toneport Series (GX, UX1, UX2, KB37) Toneport DI (Gold/Silver) POD Studio series (GX, UX1, UX2, KB37) POD XT/XT Live/XT Pro Pocket POD Backtrack The following Line 6 units are ONLY compatible with USB 2.0: POD X3/X3 Live/X3 Pro Toneport UX8 Q: How are 2.0 USB ports different from 1.1 ports? A: As we all may know, USB ports are on your computer so you are able to connect external devices to work with your system. Most computers today come with one or more USB ports and they're so fast and easy to use. It's easy just to plug something into a port and go. Most newer computers come with USB 2.0 ports, but some of the older ones still have 1.0 or 1.1 (which are very similar to each other). To find out which version you have, follow these directions: Select the start menu, then go to "My Computer" right click on the "my computer" icon, then select "manage". Click on the "Device Manager" under "Computer Management". Scroll down on the right side of the box until you locate the Universal Serial Bus (USB) controllers, then expand the list by clicking the addition (+) symbol. If you have a USB 2.0 controller in your computer, the word "enhanced" will be listed somewhere in one of those names. Q: Can I use a USB Hub to connect my Line 6 unit to my computer? A: No, USB hubs are not supported in any application of Line 6 hardware. Q: I am receiving an "Error 10" code when attempting to connect my POD X3 or UX8 to my computer? A: An "Error 10" occurs when a USB 2.0 device (i.e.POD X3 and UX8 series) is connected to a USB 1.x port. Please connect these units to a USB 2.0 port. Q: I cannot find a driver to download for the Pocket POD, FBV Mk II controller or Backtrack? A: The Pocket POD, FBV Mk II controllers and Backtrack use "class compliant" drivers that are "pre-installed" in your OS.? If you are having trouble connecting to these devices you should try a different USB port and update your OS to ensure you have the latest class compliant drivers on your system. If you have tried all available USB ports on your computer and have either no device recognition or poor audio quality (clicks-pops), you will want to consider purchasing a PCI USB 2.0 card to connect your Line 6 USB audio interface. Q: I am receiving an error that says my hardware is not a valid Line 6 device (error 8000710B) / the ESN on my unit is showing "00000000" when I connect to Line 6 Monkey? A: This situation may happen when a unit is incorrectly repaired at a Line 6 service center. The unit needs to be returned to the service center that originally serviced the unit for repair. Hello! I am considering the Stomp as an option as a fly rig. I play on cruise ships and they require only 2 pieces of luggage, so I'm looking at options to replace my pedalboard. I have a two switch external footswitch already so I'd definitely use it with the Stomp. I just need to find out whether it would work for my set up. I would need Clean, Overdrive and Solo tone. I understand that you can do this in the snapshot. But sometimes I'd want delay on for the solo tone or others. Could the external footswitch be assigned to switch delay on/off in the snapshot mode for all of the snapshots. Or is this not possible? And is there another way to get this? By the way I've never used multi effect units so go easy on me! Any help would be great!

Line 6 generally tests with software Digital Audio Workstations (DAW) that are the latest and the last freely upgradeable versions. Line 6 does not test on 3rd party applications that are no longer supported by their own developers. While we use a wide variety of 3rd party recording applications during our software testing, it is simply not possible to test POD Farm's (or any other Line 6 software) compatibility with every DAW. We make every effort to be compatible with as many recording applications as is practical. Research performed by our Quality Assurance department, beta testers, and ultimately POD Farm users systematically help us to identify bugs and incompatibilities, and we continually strive to resolve these issues with incremental software releases and/or documentation in the form of release notes, online Knowledge Base items, and forum posts. POD Farm plug-ins are developed to conform to the standards established for RTAS, VST and AU and should be compatible with any DAW supporting these plug-in formats. It is important to note that the way that DAW manufacturers implement these standards varies, which, when combined with a given computer's unique configuration, may result in varying plug-in performance.

Q: What are Mobile In digital input adaptor and Mobile POD® app? A: Mobile In is a digital input adaptor that connects your guitar or a stereo line-level audio source to your Apple® iPhone® 4S, iPhone® 4, iPad® (3rd generation), iPad® 2 or iPad®. Also works with iPhone® 5 but requires an Apple-branded Lightning to 30-in adapter cable. Learn more Mobile POD is a free app that lets you rock anytime you want with 64 fully tweakable Line 6 models. Hear them in action Q: Why doesn't Mobile In work with my iPod touch 4G? A: At this time, iPod touch 4G only works with digital audio interfaces that include both audio inputs and audio outputs. This limitation is built into the iPod touch and nothing that the interface manufacturer can affect. Some digital guitar interfaces for iOS devices, including Mobile In and models from other manufacturers, contain inputs but no outputs and as a result aren't recognized by iPod touch 4G. This is why Line 6 does not list iPod touch 4G as a supported iOS device for Mobile In. Q: Will a Lightning adapter work with Mobile In? A: As it stands, we do know that using an adapter works. It is not packaged with the unit because we cannot assume that all users will need it. Q: How many models are in Mobile POD app? A: There are 64 fully adjustable models based on celebrated vintage and modern gear. 32 guitar amplifiers, 18 stompbox and rack effects, and 16 guitar cabinets. Learn more Q: What kind of inputs does Mobile In have? A: Mobile In has two inputs: 1/8-inch guitar input with 110 dB dynamic range and 1/8-inch stereo line input with 98 dB dynamic range. (One high-quality 6-foot guitar cable with 1/8-inch and 1/4-inch ends included.) Mobile In supports up to 24-bit/48 kHz digital audio. Q: Can I use Mobile In with other CoreAudio apps beside Mobile POD app? A: Mobile In works with many other apps besides Mobile POD. It's compatible with any app that uses CoreAudio for audio input, starting with iOS 4.2.1. Q: What Apple® devices are compatible with Mobile In and Mobile POD app? A: Mobile In and Mobile POD app are compatible with iPhone® 4, iPad® 2 and iPad®. Q: What does Mobile In come with? A: Mobile In comes with everything you need to get great guitar tones (or capture any stereo line-level audio signal with pristine quality) right of the box: Mobile In digital input adaptor and a high-quality 6-foot guitar cable with 1/8-inch and 1/4-inch ends. Q: Where do I download the Mobile POD app? A: Mobile POD app can be downloaded for free directly from your Apple® devices using the App Store app. Q: What kind of cable do I use to connect my instrument to the Mobile In? A: To connect a instrument to the Mobile In, use the included 1/8" to 1/4" guitar cable. Connect the '¼' plug into the output of your instrument, then Connect the 1/8" plug into the 'GUITAR IN' on the Mobile In adaptor. for a video tutorial on Mobile In Connections. Q: What kind of cable do I use to connect my stereo line level keyboard or mixer to the Mobile In? A: To connect a stereo line level audio source such as keyboard or mixer to the Mobile In, use a 1/8" Stereo Male to Dual 1/4" Tip Sleeve Male cable. Connect both of the '¼' Tip Sleeve connections to the left and right outputs of your audio source, then connect the 1/8" Stereo Male end of the cable to the 'LINE IN' on the Mobile In adaptor. for a video tutorial on Mobile In Connections. Q: What kind of cable do I use to connect my stereo CD/MP3 player to the Mobile In? A: To connect a stereo CD/MP3 player to the Mobile In, use a 1/8" Stereo Male to 1/8" Stereo Male cable. Connect one end of the 1/8" Stereo Male to the output of your CD/MP3 player, then connect the other end of the 1/8" Stereo Male cable into the 'LINE IN' on the Mobile In adaptor. for a video tutorial on Mobile In Connections. Q: How do I use the Mobile In with CoreAudio Apps like GarageBand? A: Check out our instructions on using Mobile In with GarageBand here. Q: How do I use the Mobile POD app with the Apple's Inter-App Audio? A: Check out our video tutorial on how to use the Mobile POD App with Apple's Inter-App Audio HERE. Q: How do I use the Sonic Port with the Audiobus App? A: Check out our instructions on using Sonic Port with Audiobus HERE. If you want to use the Mobile POD app to process the sound and then record the processed audio into a third party app then you'll need to purchase and use the Audiobus app. For a list of all of other current Audiobus compatible apps CLICK HERE. Q: How can I play along with songs from my iTunes® library? A: Launch Mobile POD, tap the 1/8th note icon in the lower right hand corner of the app. The in-app player will launch, tap the 'playlist' icon located on the bottom left hand corner of the app to choose which song from your iTunes® library you like to play along with. After selecting your song, the app will return to back to the normal amp screen at which point you can play, fast forward, rewind, and loop the track. Q: Does Mobile In interface work with the AmpliTube iRig apps? A: Sorry, no. It appears that the IK Multimedia apps only work with the low-fi analog audio input on the earbuds jack, not the high-resolution digital audio input on the dock connector that Mobile In uses. Q: What should I do if my Apple® device is not recognizing the Mobile In adaptor when it is plugged in? A: Check your iPhone or iPad to be sure the latest version of the iOS operating system is installed update if necessary, instructions to do so can be found here. Disconnect the Mobile In adaptor and reconnect it, making sure the Mobile In adaptor is firmly connected to your iPhone or iPad's device's 30 pin dock connector. Check Settings > General > Accessibility, and then turn Mono Audio off. If the adaptor is still not being recognized by your Apple® device, it may be necessary to backup and restore your current iOS installation using Apple's instructions located here. Q: Can I use Airplay or Bluetooth headphones with Mobile In? A: The current version of Mobile POD does not support the use of airplay or bluetooth headphones. Q: Does the Mobile In work with Android products? A: Many of you have asked why Line 6 mobile products only work with Apple devices, not Android. Since many smartphone and tablet manufacturers support the Android operating system and have different connectors, it is unfortunately very difficult to develop and support products for these various hardware configurations. Apple devices share a standard, 30-pin dock connector which is why we're able to create a single hardware solution for these devices.

Hi all, I got a new Spider V 240 combo today and I was really excited to try it out but it sounds awful, I think it may be broken, I was just wondering if anyone else has experienced anything similar? Basically, the amp sounds great through headphones or direct into my Mac but the actual amp speakers sound really muffled / muddy, sounds like there is a pillow or something in front of the speakers. I have tried updating the amp, adjusting the EQ, assorts of parameters but no joy, still sounds bad. I have a horrible feeling I have a faulty amp but I thought I would ask here in case anyone has any suggestions. Thanks

The Looper How do I find the Looper? Most factory presets already have a Looper block, ready to go. If your preset doesn't, or you cleared all the blocks, Looper blocks can be selected from the very bottom of the Model List, below the Send/Return category. How much looping time do I get? For mono looping, Helix gives you up to 120 seconds 1/2-speed or 60 seconds full speed. There’s also a new stereo looper, which gives you 60 seconds 1/2-speed or 30 seconds full speed. Why does the Looper stop when I switch presets? Helix's looper can maintain playback and recording across presets as long as the target preset: Has the same type of looper block (mono or stereo) Has the looper block on the same path (1 or 2) Has the looper block assigned to a footswitch Otherwise, loop recording/playback will stop. Basic Looper Usage Helix can add one mono or stereo Looper block per preset. The Looper can exist anywhere on either Path 1 or Path 2. See Looper Footswitch Mode for information on using the Looper. Using a Dual signal path: Keep in mind that the looper is only available for one signal path at a time. So if you're using a second signal path, you will noticed a significant drop in volume, since the looper is only on one path. Looper Settings Knob Parameter Description 1 Playback: Adjusts looper playback level. You may find it useful to turn this down a bit so your live guitar can be slightly louder. 2 Overdub:Sets the level of your loop while overdubbing. For example, if your Overdub Level is set to 90%, each time your loop repeats, its volume will be reduced by 10%, sounding quieter and quieter with each overdub pass. 3 Low Cut and Low Cut: Filters a portion of the loop's bass and/or treble frequencies, which can improve the mix with your live guitar. For more information check out the manual here.

Please be sure to have those materials ready, should you need to get your unit serviced under warranty. Troubleshooting & Service Q: How do I perform a Factory Reset on the M9? A: You can perform a factory reset by entering the Setup screen (press both B1 and B2 at once) and navigating to the Screen with the MIDI, GATE, Display header and turning the Model Select knob until the corresponding parameter displays RST FACT? You can then press down on the TAP footswitch then the Model Select Knob together twice to reset the unit. You can also re-install the flash memory to return the M9 to factory settings. Q: What is a "Scene"? A: A "scene" is a pedal board arrangement on your Line 6 M9 Stompbox Modeler with 6 available effects, up to 3 at once. Q: How many scenes are there and how do I access them? A: With the 2.01 update, you can create and save up to 6 different scenes in one Scene Folder. With 4 Scene Folders, you get 24 total scenes on the M9! Press 3A and the TAP button at the same time to access the scenes and turn the MODEL SELECT knob to access the additional folders. Q: Can I backup my scenes to my computer?A: You can backup your scenes via MIDI. Check out the M9/M13 Scene Backup document. Q: Which expression pedals can I use with the M9? A: We recommend using the Line 6 EX-1 expression pedal. You can also use any other expression pedal containing a 10k Ohm Potentiometer. Expression pedals allow you to change stompbox controls using your feet so you can adjust the sound while you play. On the fly, you can modify the delay time and feedback, speed of your tremolo, or sweep the pitch on the Pitch Bender effect. Connect an expression pedal to your M5 Stompbox modeler. Start with the pedal in the toe position. Once you have your effect parameters settings as desired rock the expression pedal to its heel position. Now set your parameters to your desired settings. As you move your expression pedal from heel to toe, you'll see all of the adjusted parameters move between these settings. All parameters affected by an expression pedal will show a pixel notch at the top indicating a parameter's setting for the toe position of the pedal. You'll also see a notch at the bottom that indicates a parameter's settingwith the expression pedal in the heel position. Additionally, if you don't want a parameter adjusted by the expression pedal, set the parameter's knob to where you want it with the heel down, then do the same with the heel up.
