  1. Hi We are using our DAW (reaper) to change presets on our POD HD Pro and POD HD Pro X through MIDI during our live performances. Now we would like to add some looper-functions and give us the ability to get the sound of 3 guitars simultaneously which would be awesome! I've found all the looper MIDI-values necessary i the manual but from what I've understood you can only access "Looper-Mode" when having a FBV-pedal connected int the POD?! Is this correct? In that case, is there any workaround? It would truly sting if we were forced to buy a FBV just to be able to use the looper-function since we'r already using MIDI to control everything else..
  2. When i record something on the podhd500x with the looper, when it is played back it sounds completely different. The playback is quieter and muddy, with much less clarity. I need to have exactly what i played into it looped back, otherwise the pod is useless live. Is there a way to fix this? Or is my pod faulty? Thanks Kyle

    PODHD500X Looper issue

A week ago the looper in my pod hd500x started stuttering. As in, I record something and when it loops the recording, the sound gets cut off and starts off after 1-2 seconds. I don't know if its a common problem but it's really frustrating. I've tried to re-flash the firmware too, it's still not working properly. Please help. Also, this cannot be because of any physical damage because I havent gone out with the processor in the last two weeks and has been in the same place in my room and i haven't picked it up or anything.
  4. I'm really getting mad... how can I control the looper output volume using the expression pedal? This works fine in M9 but I do not find a way to assign the looper output volume to the exp2. I want to fade out the loop but of course keep the overall output. What am I missing?

    HD500 Looper stopped working correctly

Hi, My looper on my HD500 has stopped working correctly. I think it is since last update. Example of what happens - Using variax set to 12 string. Record loop in post Change to distorted to play over loop Sound changes in loop it appears to change to normal acoustic guitat Some patches do not change sound of loop Brand new patch changes sound of loop This makes the looper pretty useless and I use it frequently in my band. I do have another looper to use, but great inconvenience as the FX loops is used as volume boost and I would have to chage all my patches to suit I have tried changing to pre once loop started to see what happens and it adds effects of new patch selected.

HOW TO USE LOOPER ON POD HD PRO

HI So Im currently running through a pod hd pro through my 5150 and using a line 6 shortboard MKII(not the express). I have no clue how to use the looper function. There is no block in the actual unit and no "looper" button on my pedal. I have read that you CAN still use the looper function with this pedal and that its a global function(thats why there's no block in the chain). I need some help asap. Thanks!

    Looping With Pod Hd500x

Hey there, I have this question about the looping function on the HD500x. Don't know if this is the right place to post it but anyway.. I tried playing a bit with my looper which I'm new too. So I tried for example recording a loop in clean sound and than go over it with a metal kinda sound (this is just an example). But what my pod hd500x does is change the entire sound of what I recorded with loop to a metal sound when I select that sound. I was wondering how I can record a loop in for example clean sound and than for example record another layer with a different type of sound and so on. I hope that someone can help me out here. Thnx.

Spider Jam + Shortboard MKII Loop Function

Dear, Support Team! Can you provide an update for the Spider Jam amp, please? This Update should contain another user mode for the Shortboard MKII, because nobody needs a half time function on the D stomp. Better make it possible to switch between "Guitar" and "Mic/Aux" as a looping source on the D-Stomp. Further on, it would be awesome if you could give "Function 2" a function. As an example: It should be usable as an extended looper function. Let's say, it should be possible to individually program all the stomps when using function 2 or at least make it possible to switch on/off single looping tracks or at least regulate the volume of recorded loops with the pedal. There are so many stomps there with functions assigned, nobody needs when working with the looper. I'd rather use the stomps for changing banks (on function 2-mode) for changing looping layers and give the other stomps a function when looping. I bought the amp together with the board in order not to use a computer for looping on stage. You do not mention in the shortboard's description that one cannot assign the stomps individually when connected to the Spider Jam. I don't know who designed the looping function on the shortboard when connected to the amp, but I'm sure, this person didn't experience it for too long -.- Best! Anton
  9. The manual states that the "POD® HD Pro X includes a full-featured Looper Mode, which is accessible with the connection of a Line 6 FBV™ Foot Controller" But I have a liquid foot midi foot controller and 3rd party expression pedal. I feel like I should be able to access the looper with that. Anyone have any experience with that? Is it FBV or bust for the looper?
  10. Hey guys I have run into a recent problem with my Spider 75 IV when trying to use the looper. Whenever I create a loop, and then switch to another channel with my FBV express (i.e. recording clean track then switching to crunch to jam), the created loop and jam track switches channels also. For example, if a record a loop on the clean red channel, then switch the the red crunch to jam, the loop switches channels also; it starts playing in crunch red. I first i Thought it might be an issue with the footboard, but it also happens when I press the channel buttons on the amp as well; the loop simply changes and plays on whatever channel i select after recording. Anyone have any solutions??? Help is much appreciated.
  11. I do a lot of fine-tuning of my M9 delay settings mid-gig, which requires pressing and holding the Tap pedal. However, pressing and holding the Tap pedal also activates Looper mode. Occasionally I can "get in" before the Looper kicks in and I can fine-tune the setting, but the window of time allowed for this is too small to be reliable. My current solution is to resign myself to going into Looper mode, keeping Tap pressed down, making the adjustment on the setting, letting go of Tap, then pressing and holding Tap once more to come out of Looper mode. This is time consuming. Does anyone know if there is anything I can do about this?

    M9 Looper Volume

Hi all, is it possible to control the volume of the looper on the M9 with an expression pedal? If so, how?

    Hd500 Overdub Doesn't Work

Help! Trying to use the looper on an HD500. I press REC (FS5) and play my bit. Great. Press FS5 again and it starts playing back. Looking at the Performance view, I see "Dub In" for FS5 and "Stop" for FS6. FS6 is lit up. Now. According to the instructions, I should be able to press "Dub In" (FS5), play a bit, press "Dub Out" (FS5) again and what I just played will be mixed with the existing loop and play back for me. However, when I hit FS5, it does not change to "Dub Out" and the LED just flashes once. Nothing else happens. I hit FS5 a second time and the same thing. I don't think this is how it's supposed to work. Is there some setting that I'm missing somewhere?

    Hd500x Looper Problem?

I just got my HD500x today, its pretty tricky to figure out, but im getting there. I cannot seem to figure out a couple of things so I joined this forum just to ask these 2 questions: 1: Is there a recommended way hook both my Boss RC-300 and my HD500x to my Vox AC-30? I have tried, and succeded, but I am sure whether or not I did it right. I want it so that I can get the best possible sound. There is a footswitch and speaker output on the back of the amp, and a input on the top (of course). 2: My looper on the HD500x is not working when I put it on POST(FS3 light on). I turn the looper on, and then I record a guitar part, but then when I finish and hit play, I cannot hear it, what is the problem? Thanks
  15. I've read that the looper will ignore your selected effects if you record your loop in "POST" mode. This isn't true for me. No matter what mode I record a loop in, it ALWAYS takes on the patch that I have selected. If I record pre, it just records my dry signal, and then when I switch back to normal effects mode, it sends that loop through my effects along with my live guitar input. If I record in POST, it records my signal with all engaged effects, and then when I switch back to normal mode, it passes that EFFECTED signal through the effects AGAIN. Distortion X2. This makes the looper pretty much useless to me. I can't seem to find any posts regarding the same problem. What am I doing wrong? Thanks in advance.
  16. is it possible to assign commands to send midi using the looper switches?, i mean "UNDO" "PLAY" "REVERSE"...etc? I could not find these functions on edit's controller page... and has no way to select them .. I do not use the looper functions, i would like to assing the looper buttons to send midi messages to ableton live... Thanks...
  17. Hi there this is my first time posting on the forums and i have a simple question. I have a spider III HD 150 Head and i just got the fbv shortboard mkII and cant seem to figure out how to make the looper on function 1 to work. my question is does it even work with my amp or is there a way to make it work and how? thanks!
  18. What are the foot controller options for accessing and controlling the looping capabilities of the Pod HD Pro?

    Internal Midi Messages For Looper?

Hi, I own a POD HD500 which I use for solo gigs. I generally leave it in looper mode with an acoustic guitar so I can do solos. However, I find the looper feature restrictive in that once I get a loop going I can't change sounds (for soloing) without exiting looper mode. I also have to switch my sound back to my clean sound before going back to looper mode. This constant switching between modes means that solos are less seamless, there's always a (musical) delay at the start and end of each solo. Is there some way to program extra midi commands into the looper buttons so that when I press the "play" button, it automatically switches my sound to a different patch as well? Currently I'm considering buying an external loop pedal which seems like a waste. Andrew.
  20. Hi Folks, Anyone encounter this issue? I play in a three piece, lead vocals and guitar, there is a lot happening on stage and more than once i have accidentally hit the looper function instead of fs4. while toe tapping and had some nasty loops kick in in mid song!!! Is there any way to completely disengage the looper on the hd500x? I saw a post that suggested wrapping an elastic band around the switch but wanted to hear if you have had the same experience and what your solution was... cheers!!
  21. I am trying to use a Boss RC-3 looper on a Spider IV 75 amp and the original loop sounds good, by trying to play over it or overdubbing sounds very choppy with reduced volume, Any one have any ideas or comments for me. Thanks alot.
  22. Has anyone fixed this bug yet and I am not aware of it? It is 2013 already and this still doesnt work. Ok sol I enter looper mode from the pod, I press A to record on the mkII express, try to press again to dub in....oh no it doesnt let me. So I press play and now the dub in function works, but I cant get out of it, unless I stop but oh wait now i can't play it again so I am force to start a new one, unless i sarted the whole thing in 1/2 mode..now it actually lets me stop AND play it back again so I can add more dubs, stop it again and do the whole thing again for the acclaimed unlimited dubs.....what if I want to toggle full speed for some crazy up an octave double speed effect? no, no can do, unless I toggle reverse then it will let me toggle 1/2 and full speed freely but I can't switch out of reverse... by now I am better off using the PODs buttons....
  23. the HD500 Looper could attenuate the recorded signal by 6dB ... ...depending on your routing and settings. (all of this should be valid also for the POD HD Pro and bean, but NOT for the POD HD500X since its looper routing is different) The point can be summarized saying that the Looper is a "mono wet / stereo dry" fx block; you only need to be aware of this if you use the looper in "pre" position and you are one of those who think it's better to disable input-2 (for example by assigning it to variax) also, please, understand that what I'm trying to explain here is complicated so start reading only if interested, thanks to understand what I'm talking about, you need to read this post of mine and follow the signal on my graphs here: ...so, getting to the point: "the looper is a mono wet / stereo dry fx block" means that if for example you have a situation like this: - guitar connected to guitar input - Input-1: Guitar / Input-2: Variax - Looper in "pre" position - no fx - Amp Block in Path-A (path-A at unity and pan centered, Path-B muted) and you record a riff in the looper, the looped level will be 6dB less than the original signal! explanation: as a "mono wet / stereo dry fx block" the looper attenuates his inputs and sums them, then it records the result and, when playng back, sends the recorded signal to both his outputs so if you have disabled input-2, your recorded loop will have 6dB less than the original signal and will be splitted to outputs 1 & 2 of the looper, WHILE your dry signal will be present only at the output-1 of the looper now, if the first mono effect you have is in path-A, the mixed dry and -6dB looped signals from output-1 of the looper will be splitted to Left and Right channels of path-A and that mono effect will receive them at both its inputs otherwise, if the first mono effect you have is in the pre path you will hear no difference between dry and looped signals: indeed the looped signal will re-gain its lost 6dB because it will be present at both inputs of the effect (while the dry is present only on one input). so, to summarize: if you have Input-1: Guitar / Input-2: Variax and the Looper in "pre" position: 1- if the first mono effect is in path-A, it receives the dry signal at unity and the looped one at minus 6dB 2- if the first mono effect is in pre-path, it receives the dry and the looped signals both at minus 6dB consequences: This meas that, if your purpose was to have the ability to tweak your amp settings while listening to the results on the looped riff, and your amp is in path-A, you're going to get the wrong gain setting! (because you will be pushed to turn up your amp drive pot more than needed) Now, in the same situation (even while your riff is still looping), if you move your amp in "pre" position the loop will play at the same level but the dry guitar will play less distorted! solution? set both inputs to guitar (before recording the loop), and none of this problems will occur
  24. The JM4 DESPERATELY needs an amp model for acoustic guitars. None currently give you true acoustic guitar sound like AUX does, but AUX can't be looped separately from the vocal. Turning off the amp model doesn't work either, because the acoustic still doesn't sound right in this input. Because of this, I can't even use my mic with it, which breaks my heart because the MIC features are AWESOME. This one change would make the JM4 the perfect tool for the 1-man band, which should be the target customer. We could even eliminate our mixers. How awesome would that be? One perfect little box for EVERYTHING! All we'd need is an inexpensive A/B switch between acoustic & electric guitars. Please go to Idea Scale, Line 6's place to submit ideas, and vote for my post (link below). Maybe they'll perfect this wonderful tool! http://line6.ideascale.com/a/dtd/JM4-the-ALMOST-PERFECT-1-man-band-tool./495841-23508
