  1. Hi Guys, Just wanted to know if there was a good way of connecting a POD HD500 with a RC 300 (or for that matter any external looper) and a DT 25. At the moment I have my JTV 89f going into my POD HD500 then the out from POD going into the instrument in of Boss RC 300 and the Out from Boss going into my DT 25. The problem with this setup is that I cant control the DT 25 from my pod this way. I want to be able to use the looper with the POD and still be able to use the DT amp from the POD patches. Is that possible?
  2. Hello, I'm trying to fully integrate the PODHD500x with Ableton Live so that I can use the "Looper" device in Ableton, because I want the master clock to be Ableton so that my loops are always in sync and in the right Time Signature depending of what track I'm running. So to clear some info about my setup. I'm already sending and receiving MIDI from Ableton through the POD. At this moment I can send program changes from Ableton to switch presets and banks in the hardware. Also I can even control specific devices in the Hardware, like for example sending Midi to the POD to activate FX and Modulate the Expression pedals. So this chapter is working like a charm. What is missing though is a way to use the Looper in the POD to control Ableton Live's Looper. So at this point I'm already sending MIDI to Looper. The way I've managed to don't have the POD's Looper over Ableton's Looper was to turn the playback volume of Looper on the POD to 0. This way I can only listen the Looper from Ableton. Now the biggest problem arises from the button behaviour in the POD itself when the looper switch is Activated. Because the REC and Overdub (as also the the PLAY and STOP) use the same Switch (alternately) mapping it to Ableton creates a problem that involves having to press twice for the Switch to do it's defined midi function. So the way I have it set up is by using 6 Switches. a) Switch #1 (FS5) - REC a) Switch #2 (FS6) - PLAY a) Switch #3 (FS7) - OVERDUB a) Switch #4 (FS8) - STOP a) Switch #5 (FS1) - UNDO a) Switch #6 (FS2) - CLEAR But for this to work as a normal Midi Looper too this buttons need to have an option to work as momentary and only send one CC event. So my suggestion is to have an option in the Hardware itself to "Bypass the Looper's Switches functions" (making all the FS switches "MOMENTARY" OR "NOTE") so that If anyone wants to use the Looper function as a MIDI CC's it won't be limited because of the way the Switches Work in the POD. Let me know what you guys think of this :) Thank you Andregmendes.com
  3. Hey folks. Here are a couple of videos that may help you get a bit more out of your Firehawk. How to use the Firehawk FX Looper - https://youtu.be/1cHcI0XBrkw How to use the Firehawk FX Live Edit - https://youtu.be/p2qlEX4Fwks
  4. Hei. I have been latelly experiencing that my jm4 is having and odd behavior. The Lcd screen suddenly shows that the volume is being moved while playing. Evenmore, it can happen while trying to hit play or stop on an overdub not allowing the action to take effect and even not allowing to record while it happens. It also happens very often, I would say with intervals of 10 to 15 secs or less but it is not a fixed time. I have come to the idea that the volume knob is damage. I am wondering if somebody else is experiencing the same problem? Eventually if this is due to the volume knob where could i posiblly get a replacement or what type of knob should i get for this equipment Thanks Jan
  5. Hello to all, I have searched the forums and had no luck so I'll post here for any feed back. First off let me say that this pod is awesome but only 1 complaint is that the looper effect doesn't work consistantly (seems to have a mind of it's own) when it works, it work well but when it doesn't ......GRRRR! so I was wondering if anyone else has had or is having this issue, or is there some thing that I'm missing or is it a faulty unit. Appreciated any feedback or wisdom that might help me out. Thanks in advance SJ
  6. Hi, I have the M13 love it but this looks even better. Two questions: 1. Does the Firehawk have a looper like the M13 pedal? 2. Can you bypass the Amp & Cab's by choosing No Amp So its only effects? Thank you,
  7. Hi We are using our DAW (reaper) to change presets on our POD HD Pro and POD HD Pro X through MIDI during our live performances. Now we would like to add some looper-functions and give us the ability to get the sound of 3 guitars simultaneously which would be awesome! I've found all the looper MIDI-values necessary i the manual but from what I've understood you can only access "Looper-Mode" when having a FBV-pedal connected int the POD?! Is this correct? In that case, is there any workaround? It would truly sting if we were forced to buy a FBV just to be able to use the looper-function since we'r already using MIDI to control everything else..
  8. Hi everyone. My lovely HD500x does not "record" in my loop for more than about 15 seconds, when it begins recording again in a new layer over the other one. What I want is to lay my first layer down until I turn it off (after 30 seconds) then record the next one on top of that. Help? Many thanks! :)
  9. A week ago the looper in my pod hd500x started stuttering. As in, I record something and when it loops the recording, the sound gets cut off and starts off after 1-2 seconds. I don't know if its a common problem but it's really frustrating. I've tried to re-flash the firmware too, it's still not working properly. Please help. Also, this cannot be because of any physical damage because I havent gone out with the processor in the last two weeks and has been in the same place in my room and i haven't picked it up or anything.
  10. Hi, I have a pod hd500x, which I am using extensively. The other day during a gig in a bar the following happened. I was playing as usual. It was a very noisy song. I couldn't hear my self very good. Then the song ends, everybody stops playing, a moment of silence in the room, except my guitar continues to play. I had accidentally engaged my looper while playing. This was extremely embarrassing. For a moment I just wanted to to existe anymore. :o I like the looper fonction of the pod but it should be possible to deactivate for this type of situation. I looked in the manual but could not find this functionality. Therefore my wish to Line 6 for a future firmware upgrade would be the following: In global settings allow to assign the looper footswitch to either - looper - toggle on/off the 5th assigned FX or Amp in preset mode This would really be helpful. Markus
  11. Hi, My looper on my HD500 has stopped working correctly. I think it is since last update. Example of what happens - Using variax set to 12 string. Record loop in post Change to distorted to play over loop Sound changes in loop it appears to change to normal acoustic guitat Some patches do not change sound of loop Brand new patch changes sound of loop This makes the looper pretty useless and I use it frequently in my band. I do have another looper to use, but great inconvenience as the FX loops is used as volume boost and I would have to chage all my patches to suit I have tried changing to pre once loop started to see what happens and it adds effects of new patch selected.
  12. Hello there, I have recently gotten a DT25 combo and a Pod HD500X to replace my aged and now defunct Spider III 120. I have enjoyed learning to use it and although i have come across a few quirks of using the two together and with other devices, I have so far been able to come up with a solution to all of my issues. However, a new issue has come up and I am hoping that this very knowledgeable forum can help! -Firstly, what I have been doing and enjoying; 1. DT25 is in LVM 1a. Looper is in post mode 2. Start on clean patch 3. Record chord progression 4. Exit overdub and exit looper to switch patches 5. Switch to lead patch (uses treadplate full and cab sims) 6. Loop is playing with the same volume as on previous patch, and I have my lead sound to solo with. 7. No issues with this method! It works how I would expect. :) -Here is where the issue arises. I had not noticed this yet as I had not had a chance to play with the DT in Normal Volume mode and use the looper; 1. DT25 is in Normal Volume Mode 1a. Looper is in post mode 2. Start on clean patch 3. Record chord progression 4. Exit overdub and exit looper to switch patches 5. Switch to lead patch (uses treadplate full and cab sims) 6. Loop is playing much louder as compared to the previous patch, and I have my lead sound to solo with. 7. What is causing this volume change when in this volume mode on the DT25? It makes it very hard to use the looper as the volume changes are quite abrupt and it creates a weird disparity between the original comp and the loop. I appreciate any comments that you all are able to offer, thank you! :)
  13. HI So Im currently running through a pod hd pro through my 5150 and using a line 6 shortboard MKII(not the express). I have no clue how to use the looper function. There is no block in the actual unit and no "looper" button on my pedal. I have read that you CAN still use the looper function with this pedal and that its a global function(thats why there's no block in the chain). I need some help asap. Thanks!
  14. When i record something on the podhd500x with the looper, when it is played back it sounds completely different. The playback is quieter and muddy, with much less clarity. I need to have exactly what i played into it looped back, otherwise the pod is useless live. Is there a way to fix this? Or is my pod faulty? Thanks Kyle
  15. Dear, Support Team! Can you provide an update for the Spider Jam amp, please? This Update should contain another user mode for the Shortboard MKII, because nobody needs a half time function on the D stomp. Better make it possible to switch between "Guitar" and "Mic/Aux" as a looping source on the D-Stomp. Further on, it would be awesome if you could give "Function 2" a function. As an example: It should be usable as an extended looper function. Let's say, it should be possible to individually program all the stomps when using function 2 or at least make it possible to switch on/off single looping tracks or at least regulate the volume of recorded loops with the pedal. There are so many stomps there with functions assigned, nobody needs when working with the looper. I'd rather use the stomps for changing banks (on function 2-mode) for changing looping layers and give the other stomps a function when looping. I bought the amp together with the board in order not to use a computer for looping on stage. You do not mention in the shortboard's description that one cannot assign the stomps individually when connected to the Spider Jam. I don't know who designed the looping function on the shortboard when connected to the amp, but I'm sure, this person didn't experience it for too long -.- Best! Anton
  16. The manual states that the "POD® HD Pro X includes a full-featured Looper Mode, which is accessible with the connection of a Line 6 FBV™ Foot Controller" But I have a liquid foot midi foot controller and 3rd party expression pedal. I feel like I should be able to access the looper with that. Anyone have any experience with that? Is it FBV or bust for the looper?
  17. I do a lot of fine-tuning of my M9 delay settings mid-gig, which requires pressing and holding the Tap pedal. However, pressing and holding the Tap pedal also activates Looper mode. Occasionally I can "get in" before the Looper kicks in and I can fine-tune the setting, but the window of time allowed for this is too small to be reliable. My current solution is to resign myself to going into Looper mode, keeping Tap pressed down, making the adjustment on the setting, letting go of Tap, then pressing and holding Tap once more to come out of Looper mode. This is time consuming. Does anyone know if there is anything I can do about this?
  18. Hi all, is it possible to control the volume of the looper on the M9 with an expression pedal? If so, how?
  19. Help! Trying to use the looper on an HD500. I press REC (FS5) and play my bit. Great. Press FS5 again and it starts playing back. Looking at the Performance view, I see "Dub In" for FS5 and "Stop" for FS6. FS6 is lit up. Now. According to the instructions, I should be able to press "Dub In" (FS5), play a bit, press "Dub Out" (FS5) again and what I just played will be mixed with the existing loop and play back for me. However, when I hit FS5, it does not change to "Dub Out" and the LED just flashes once. Nothing else happens. I hit FS5 a second time and the same thing. I don't think this is how it's supposed to work. Is there some setting that I'm missing somewhere?
  20. I just got my HD500x today, its pretty tricky to figure out, but im getting there. I cannot seem to figure out a couple of things so I joined this forum just to ask these 2 questions: 1: Is there a recommended way hook both my Boss RC-300 and my HD500x to my Vox AC-30? I have tried, and succeded, but I am sure whether or not I did it right. I want it so that I can get the best possible sound. There is a footswitch and speaker output on the back of the amp, and a input on the top (of course). 2: My looper on the HD500x is not working when I put it on POST(FS3 light on). I turn the looper on, and then I record a guitar part, but then when I finish and hit play, I cannot hear it, what is the problem? Thanks
  21. I've read that the looper will ignore your selected effects if you record your loop in "POST" mode. This isn't true for me. No matter what mode I record a loop in, it ALWAYS takes on the patch that I have selected. If I record pre, it just records my dry signal, and then when I switch back to normal effects mode, it sends that loop through my effects along with my live guitar input. If I record in POST, it records my signal with all engaged effects, and then when I switch back to normal mode, it passes that EFFECTED signal through the effects AGAIN. Distortion X2. This makes the looper pretty much useless to me. I can't seem to find any posts regarding the same problem. What am I doing wrong? Thanks in advance.
  22. I'm really getting mad... how can I control the looper output volume using the expression pedal? This works fine in M9 but I do not find a way to assign the looper output volume to the exp2. I want to fade out the loop but of course keep the overall output. What am I missing?
  23. Hey guys I have run into a recent problem with my Spider 75 IV when trying to use the looper. Whenever I create a loop, and then switch to another channel with my FBV express (i.e. recording clean track then switching to crunch to jam), the created loop and jam track switches channels also. For example, if a record a loop on the clean red channel, then switch the the red crunch to jam, the loop switches channels also; it starts playing in crunch red. I first i Thought it might be an issue with the footboard, but it also happens when I press the channel buttons on the amp as well; the loop simply changes and plays on whatever channel i select after recording. Anyone have any solutions??? Help is much appreciated.
  24. What are the foot controller options for accessing and controlling the looping capabilities of the Pod HD Pro?
  25. Hi Folks, Anyone encounter this issue? I play in a three piece, lead vocals and guitar, there is a lot happening on stage and more than once i have accidentally hit the looper function instead of fs4. while toe tapping and had some nasty loops kick in in mid song!!! Is there any way to completely disengage the looper on the hd500x? I saw a post that suggested wrapping an elastic band around the switch but wanted to hear if you have had the same experience and what your solution was... cheers!!
