  1. I have a post up already about transferring SysEx files to/from my M13 but this is specifically about getting a CLEAN dump from the M13. I now know for sure that when I have a good, clean 16 messages of 157 bytes each, that I can successfully load that scene onto the M13. However, if I then do a dump of that same scene back to either my PC or MacBook Pro, that extra bytes are added the files gets corrupted. How can I ensure that when I transfer SysEx MIDI files as a manual dump that it is CLEAN? Has anybody had this same issue?
  2. I have been struggling to get my saved SysEx scenes loaded back onto my M13. I've tried every method but so far, without success. My latest attempt was using a MIDI SysEx Transfer Utility (MSETU) from the Microsoft Store. It does a validation check and I received a message saying that it was invalid as F0 and F7 were mis-matched! MidiOx transfers the data, as I can see the data in the Monitor and the flashing screen 4. However, if this MSETU message is correct, then it won't update. Does anyone know what the SysEx is meant to be, v.v. F0/F7 messages matching? Also, are there SysEx files online that are downloadable, or can someone attach an example for me to try? Thanks in advance.
  3. Hi can someone tell me how to edit each individual efx volume, when i kick in a synth sound the volume is way to high but no way to fix it, is it possiblr i don't see it even in the manual? thank you so much, cheers from the south of the world
  4. Hello folks, since MIDI Ox still does not run under Windows 10 I don't have any idea how to backup (and restore) my M13-scenes. Is there any easy to handle software (I don't have an knowledge about MIDI at all) on the market which can do the job? And which MIDI-USB interface would you recommend if you only need it for backups and restores once in a while? Any suggestions are mostly appreciated. Thank you very much for your kind support in advance. Best regards Blue
  5. Hey Folks, I'm having issues sending a backup file to my Line 6 M13, I tried both a USB - Midi cable and my Focusrite Scarlett 18i20 's midi output. It was possible to send my backup to SysEx but not the other way around. Any tips? Thanks David
  6. I've been using my M13 for a couple months now and generally love it. But I cannot figure out how to get a volume boost for a solo without using an overdrive or distortion effect. Often I want to do a clean solo, perhaps with just some delay or phaser. But those types of effects don't have a gain or output level parameter that I can adjust to boost my signal loud enough for a solo. Am I missing something? Is there some type of "transparent" effect that has an output level parameter I can use for a "clean boost"? Is there some overall setting/preference I should be tweaking? I don't have a volume pedal and I don't want to be dependent on an expression pedal for this. I want to be able to hit one foot switch and not have to do the pedal dance. I run a mono set up, simple input/output with a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe IV. Thanks for the help and suggestions.
  7. Hi, my M13 (Firm 2.04) have a big humm when I use distortion stomp. Why? I possible to resolve the problem?
  8. I just got a used M13 modeler. I love the effects as they are absolutely amazing for worship music. However, I cannot get it working. I tested both cables first and then began my setup. I plugged my amp into its main "input" and into the "output L(mono)" slot on the modeler. I have plugged my guitar into the "input L(mono)" slot. I also did a factory reset and for whatever reason, I can't get any sound to come through. There is a dry noise I can hear but nothing from my guitar. The tuner also isn't picked up on anything but when I turn the modeler off, I am able to play through the amp. I am so new to this type of setup, any feedback on how I might solve this?
  9. If I have a spider IV and a fbv longboard can I use an m13. Are they compatible?
  10. Hi everybody. I have an issue. I recently bought the Behringer V-amp pro and i will like to use it with my Line 6 M13 as a midi controller. I can do that, when i am in the mode scene, i can change the presets right on the v-amp pro, but when i try to add an effect of my M13 the settings on the v-amp are changed too... Can somebody explain me how can i solve this mistery?? Connections: M13 into the loop (stereo) of the V-amp for all my modulations/effects, and also connected by a midi cable to change the amps. Thanks

  12. Hi guys, newbie here. I recently brought a second hand m13. This morning I went to set it up and I only get sound while the pedal is in bypass mode. If I engage an effect then I get silence. I tried on about 5 different guitars, 3 amps and a host of cables to rule out any other silly problems. My dignoses is that the fault is within the m13 unit. Has anyone else had this issue? Is it resolvable or have I brought a fluff? I was very excited to map out some sounds but alas I won’t be able too!
  13. Received this m13 as is from someone. Before I buy a new power supply for no reason or open up and replace lcd screens, I wanted to get an opinion on what could be possible issues here. The m13 works and all the screens power up with colors. However, starting from left to right, each screen text display gets worse until the far right screen barely has anything displayed. The first screen is at least readable, but the others are not. The progressive degradation from left to right leads me to think it could be a power issues, but IDK. (FYI, I just flashed the latest firmware update with no change.) Pics below, Thanks!!!
  14. i cant figure out how to switch scenes by only pressing one button. i have to first press the scene button and then select the scene. what am i doing wrong?
  15. First off, Hey to Everyone. Hopefully y'all can help. I purchased a used M13 from Reverb and it has the most updated Firmware (2.04) It worked perfectly for about 3 months and I did quite a few gigs with it. Recently, when I plug in my guitar and also have it hooked up out to my amp, I'll get a clean signal that runs through. But when I turn on the M13 the signal cuts. I go to select my tuner and it just reads "B" with the chromatic tuner leaning to B flat. Sometimes when I select my tuner, it runs though all the different notes that the tuner can read super fast and then will go blank for a few seconds, then go back to showing "B". My current patch for this has been to turn the unit on, leave it on the tuner setting, walk away for a while and when i come back the tuner is usually blank. I plug my guitar in and it will register notes, and then allow me to use the stompbox fully effects and all. However, yesterday at practice, I let it "warm" up, which took way longer than normal, but it worked, but by the end of the practice I was getting a horrible buzz coming from the amp. This buzz went away once I took the m13 out of line between guitar and amp. It was not an instrument cable issue, I tested that, and it wasnt any of my other pedals i use with the m13. Hopefully I'm not doomed here, but wanted to throw out a line and see if anyone has known a fix or solution to this. Thanks!
  16. Hey, I just bought an M13 with firmware version 2.04 If for example I use the octisynth in fx slot 2 I hear this filter sweep sound. If I then bypass the effect (true bypass mode) and I wanna turn on another effect (even another fx slot) the only thing I can hear coming out of the M13 is the sweeping sound of the octisynth. I read that it's a software thing and it schould have been fixed with a firmware upgrade.. So since I have the latest firmware it should work right? Anybody else with this problem that knows a solution? Many thanks in advance! Gr, Maarten
  17. Hello! I am wondering if it is possible to create a blank preset with no effects or a true bypass without having to double tape my preset button when in screen mode. I am using midi to switch channels on my 5150 iii. I would just like a quick way to switch to my distortion channel and have no effects on it.
  18. Hi, I have recently acquired a line 6 M13. It's great and saving me a ton of wedge not buying individual pedals (for the moment). One thing I want to do is blend the OD/Dist/Fuzz signals with my dry signal so i'm getting Boss LS-2 in the next couple of days so i can stick the M13 in a in on the loops and blend. This however causes me an issue with the effects I would want to run fully wet (synth patches/filters etc). Current signal: Bass > M13 > Laney RB9 (which has a series effect loop) Best guess proposed loop: Bass > LS-2 (a+b mix setting) >M13 (in one LS-2 loop) > LS-2> Amp My question: Is there a clever way i could link these 2 units using the M13 effects loop and/or my amp effects loop to isolate the just one(more more) bank of effects to be blended with the rest wet? I want the flexibility but without having to change cables between songs. Caveat: I'm new to all this multi effect wizardry, so be gentle. Thanks for your help Cheers
  19. Can you use an M13 to change channels on Spider 4 as if it were a FBV? I doubt it from searching around and looking through manuals, but I am hopeful that there's a way to possible do it. Thanks for any insight or help :)
  20. Hello Forum: I'm looking to get a used M13. I know they've been out for several years so is there something I should be looking for when comparing units? Or as long as it's in good shape and the firmware is updated it shouldn't matter if it's 1 or 5 years old? Thanks! Bob
  21. i Have a Line 6 M13 a few years and I always used with external drive to achieve the best tone i could ever get, but it always was on the input of my amp. now I'm buying a new amp with an effects loops. my question is if I use the 4CM and use external drive do the overdrive signal will go to the effects loops of my amp? Because it's not been processed inside the M13. If the overdrive signal is going to the effects loop what should I do to not damage my amp and still use external drives with the M13?
  22. Purchased an m13 the other day. I want to use it mainly for delays and verbs for now. I would also like to keep bank 4 for fuzzes, screamer, and classic distortion for future consideration of dumping my external dirt boxes. Current Chain before the m13 was purchased Guitar>tu-2>ibanez ts9>Daredevil black yorba fuzz>line 6 m5>tc electronic spark mini>vox ac30 c2 Of course I'm ditching the m5 for the m13. I would like to take advantage of the ac30's fx loop and the m13's fx loop while also being able to continue using the ts9 and black yorba for now (the spark mini will probably not stay). I would like to do this using the 4cm. How would I set the fx loop settings on m13 and how would I chain it together? I would like to use the 4321 setting as this is how my brain sees signal flow. Lastly, I think I read somewhere that I could leave the ts9 and black yorba on all the time and utilize the m13 to control when they are fed through the signal, Is this true? If so, how would I do this?. Thanks in advance for your patience with me as I'm a complete noob when it comes to multi effects.
  23. I have a Line6 M13 and I would like to hook up my external effects to get the best possible tone out of my gear. I don't know a lot about effect loops etc so anyone who could possibly advise me, it would be greatly appreciated. Please see my gear list below: Line6 M13 Vox AC15C1 Amp (No Effect Loop) Ibanez TS808 Boss BD-2 Vox Wah - V847 Is it possible to hook up my external effects into the effects loop in the pedal without using the 4 cable method since my amp does not have that? I love the tones I'm currently getting out of my M13 and the Vox amp but I would like to use my external pedals as I like those drives better than the tones internally. Anything you can do to help would be greatly appreciated.
  24. Hi I'm getting a Hughes Grandmeister and need some help to conect my M13 via Midi to the head to control the banks from hughes .. he has a Midi input/out and 128 banks of memory that are controlled by a footswich ... how can I use the M13 to control him? Help please
  25. first off, hello everyone! apologies in advance for the wall of text. after many a struggle with this, i'm in need of assistance. perhaps there is something very simple that i'm doing wrong. i have an older three channel dual rec (which i have modded the parallel fx loop into a serial), and for the life of me i cannot get this hooked up right. currently signal chain is going guitar -> tu2 tuner -> isp decimator g string gtr in -> gtr out -> m13 input -> m13 output -> g string in -> g string out -> amp loop fx return m13 fx send -> ego comp -> oc2 -> octafuzz -> pharaoh fuzz -> syb 5 -> wah -> amp input amp fx loop send -> m13 fx return i should also mention that i have the m13 to 'post fx 1'... (i assume i am using this correctly) i run all the synthy stuff and other crazy effects on the first row. the last three rows are reserved for modulation, delays, verbs, etc etc. delays and verbs are generally around 50-80% mix level, depending. i'm getting tons of noise. i have to set the threshold on the decimator to the point where verbs/delays are completely cut off and useless. when playing at lower levels (with the threshold lower and playing through an attenuator), i'm still getting that ...hollow sounding just-about-to-feedback sound. i've tried running the m13 AFTER the decimator in the loop (just as an experiment, i read it on a different forum), but that causes serious feedback at even normal playing levels. what am i doing wrong? or is this just the nature of the beast? or, do i need to run another noise reduction pedal between the wah and the front of the amp? EDIT: also noticing that the looper is also affected by the decimator. it seems to consider it noise. also, if i turn any of the other effects on (for example the oc2, which is not in the loop), it puts the effect on the loop as well as my guitar. surely, this must be wrong?
