I have a 7 String ESP, HELIX and FRFR. Trying to come up with a tone that has that metal chug but enough high end to stand out, whilst not being overly distorted. Any help in replicating this sound to its closest would be much appreciated. Please check out Beggin cover by Violet Orlandi. -
(Preset + IR in attachment) Hi all (some older members may know me as VTM, when i created metal patches for the good'ol podXT). Today a title which was fully recorded with the HX Stomp (all guitars and bass). This one is special as it allows the guitarist to also play a bass line at the same time, using a signal split and a pitch shifter ! Does anyone know what sort of tweaking i would need to do and what inductor to use in order to get the chrome custom sound in my v845? i also have a cry baby standard i could use for some part swapping if needed. thanks in advance just in case i miss you.

Hi! I wonder if someone knows about why we can't expand the one-size only plugin window. There's a lot of options in it but nothing to resize. Even a 'fullscreen icon' is there on the right corner but it's blank and unclickable. Would there be an update ?

So I have been trying to create a Metal/Metallica preset for my Helix LT and I have been having problems. Either it sounds way too over compressed, there is way too much background noise, or the tone just doesn’t sound good. Does anybody have any setting recommendations? I have seen tons of them in CustomTone that don’t sound any better.

Hi everyone, I hope you can help me. My Uber Metal line6 pedal is not turning on. The light goes green and immediately it goes red, flashes red a couple of times and goes off. I tried with a battery and a 9v adapter but the same thing happens. Any help is appreciated!

Hello, good day everyone. Guitar noob question here. So I have a line 6 pod hd bean, an orange dark terror and orange 1x12 cab. I'm not so much liking the stock amps in the line 6 hd edit and wish to use the dark terror along with the pod. Is that something that could be done? Can I just send a cable from the input in the dark terror into the pod hd left or right input and then connect my guitar to the pod hd? Or should I connect the pod to the fx loop in the dark terror? Which I am quite unfamiliar with. Cheers!

Hail, folks! I'm having a bit of a issue here. First things first: I own a POD HD500X, and a ESP Ltd AX-50 (cheap guitar but do the job for my metalworks). So... I used George L's cables for many years. The thing is, I lost my cables. And actually, they aren't that good as many people say. Got to get brand new cables them. Ernie Ball Braided, the weapon of choice. Ok. So here's the problem... In my country there's ONLY 25ft long cables. That's 7 meters. And I need TWO. One connecting the guitar to the HD500X, and other to connect the HD500X to the amp. Two cables, 50ft long. It's just too much. Actually, who needs that!? But, again, it's the only size for sell in my country - welcome to the third world. So what now? I will obliterate my signal!? I am a metal player, but yeah, I do love blues and other stuff... I'm working on some Eric Johnson's song too. The thing is, some people said that IN THIS CASE it just doesn't matter, because I use digital effects, a processor - therefore the only worry to be concerned is the length of the cable between the GUITAR and the POD. 1- That's true!? Anyone with a solid opinion about it!? Also, some guys said that "you play extreme metal, higain and stuff... Don't worry, your tone will be fine. Let the Stratoguys deal with that". Some said "if you put ACTIVE PICKUPS this wouldn't be a problem, because active pickups kick-lollipop". These stuff... 2- Higain is unnefected by 50ft cable length? I mean, at least no one would notice it? 3- Active pickups does break the rules and keep my tone 100%? Hope you guys can help me. And yeah, I do want that specific cable. Thanks by now! -
Hey guys! The new Helix firmware 2.9 is here and it came with the purple channel from the amazing Revv Generator 120. Brutal sounding for sure. I put together this track with of course, my Solar Guitars A 1.6 Artist and I am using Ownhammer Impulses. What's the best way to get a better palm mute chug sound out of the Standard? The models, so far, to me don't seem to be tight enough. Seems like a fairly common problem due to the piezo being behind your palm. So is there a good setting to use on the model that works well? I'll keep playing around with my Firehawk to see if I can get a good sound from it using the single coil magnetic pickup, too. My existing patches don't sound great with the magnetic pickup, so any tips there are welcome. Last resort would be replacing the bridge pickup. Any particular ones anyone has had good success with?

I bought a used Pod HD Pro X through Guitar Center that has the Metal pack installed. If I want to reset my Pod will I lose the Metal pack? How do I save the Metal pack on my PC? Thanks.

Hey, i recently got my HX STOMP, I play bass (metal band) and the way i have it set it up in my preset is i split crossover the signal into a high freq and a low freq. I added a compressor into the low freq chain and thats it, and into the high freq i use distortion and a cab sim. My question is: Can i send a signal to my cab (without the cab sim) for stage fill and a signal with the cab sim on to the FOH (that would be my main sound) Thanks a lot!

Don't worry, this isn't me asking if I can use it as an interface. I know I can and it's better than the 200$ focusrite or presonus I can afford (it was like 1300$ for helix and headrush frfr 108). I was wondering what else I need to use it as an interface. I have a razer laptop with an i7 and gtx 1070 and klipsch pro media 2.1 thx but I was wondering if I should invest in studio monitors and what else would be a good investment for my rig and studio.

Hello, Randall Satan has been my all around favourite sounding amp since the 1st time I've heard it live. Since their availability in my country is an issue, I never got to buy an actual unit. Well, now I have a Helix - reasoning behind going digital - that I'll leave to myself. All I can say is that I sold all my tube thingys. I saw Collin from Plague Scythe Studio dial in a Randall Satan patch with the AX8. Since AX8 can do it, I bet Helix does too - "Sky is the limit" is the common phrase around this forum. I bet that we can get somewhat close to the real thing. I already cracked the Grind pedal - all it took was a 10 band EQ with specific settings (I'll post a screen later, it works great). I just don't know where to start... The Badonk? Elektrik? What amp would be a good starting point? Maybe somebody already tried tonematching the Satan? I have a wide array of IRs available - ML Sound Lab Mega Oversize, Ownhammers Mesa, Orange and the HHC2. I even laid my hand on Ola's own Hesu IR - I already use it as a "to go" IR. Truth be told, I can't even imagine using the Helix without third party IRs. I think this is where Helix fails, and if the stock cabs were better, we wouldn't hear about AXE FX eating the HX for breakfast. All advice is welcome - lets crack this thing, and prove once for all that the Helix is capable of good, modern, tight, djenty high gain. Down the rabbit hole, Cheers, Chr1s

Hi! So I'm about to buy an Helix Rack, that I'm gonna use live and at rehearsals with my "modern metal" band (Architects, BMTH, Deftones type of sound..). I'm looking for the best FRFR speaker I could get for this usage between 300€ to maximum 400€. I already looked for the Mackie Thump15, Headrush 112 and ALTO speakers, and heard good and bad things about these but struggle to find good feedbacks from users with a similar situation/need. What would you recommend? Any help would be appreciated! ps: also, what would be the most suited speaker diameter? 10, 12 or 15"?

Hey Guys, Today I have a playthrough of my newest instrumental track, Beautiful Burden. This song was recorded using my Solar Guitars A 1.6 Artist LTD. All guitar and bass were tracked with the Line 6 Helix Rack using Ownhammer Impulses I’m really proud of how this track turned out. The gutters cut through and sound aggressive and heavy. That bass is low and gnarly and the overall mix may be one of my best. I'm thinking about releasing this as a single on all digital platforms.
