  1. Hello Line6 forum, I'm Phil from Lunatic Man's Dream!. I am looking for a effect unit that can deliver the following specs: - Wahwah sound controllable via expression pedal. So I don't need to run audio cable to my pedalboard but only control cables to switch my rack. - I want to be able, to turn that effect off by putting the pedal to "zero-position" OR by an integrated footswitch(like in Dunlop pedals). Depending on the way, the unit makes that possible, I choose a fitting expression pedal. Does the M5 work this way or do i have to programm special midi presets for having the wah turned on or off? Best regards, Phil
  2. Hello all, This is my first post in the community, and I'm wondering where I can learn how to automate my Helix Rack to properly and effectively change presets as well as manipulate the values of individual chain loaded effects. Here is what I'm looking to accomplish with Helix (for live use) and as of right now I know nothing of where to start: I'm running my show with Ableton live 9 lite. I want to use MIDI tracks (envelope automation) in Ableton to change my patches throughout the songs and set, as well as automate the toggling the on/off of stompboxes and delay/reverb swells & ramp-ups of the mix percentage within each patch. All I know is that I need to assign the parameters in which I want to control to the open MIDI CC channels in Helix, but I do not know how to technically achieve this the most effective and proper way. Any input or direction to reading materials on this subject is greatly appreciated. Like i said, I know nothing about this process. Thanks! 3. Hello everyone, I've got the line 6 Pod HD Pro and I want to use it with my Rocktron Midi Raider. If I build my first preset (clean A1: 2 amps, noise gate, chorus (off), delay (off) & tremelo (off))everything wordks fine, can control 3 effect seperatly without a problem. Once I create a second preset (dirty clean A2 sound: FXloop, 2 amps, noise gate, chorus (off), delay (off) & tremelo (off)) and switches between them everythings change. Sometimes preset 1becomes like this 1 amps on , noise gate, chorus (on), delay (on) & tremelo (off) or 2 amps, noise gate, chorus (on), delay (off) & tremelo (on). Same goes with the second preset and so on. Also at sometimes when working with my preset my pod gives a * at the top left. Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong? I'm not planning on using a Line 6 FBV board because I've got the midi raider and other effects from my wife. When I've looked into this system it said it was controllable by midi but now I've been wondering if I should go with eleven rack or something else. Hope someone could help me out. Sorry for any miss spellings, I'm from belgium so englisch is not my main language. Jeroen
  4. On the M13....It sure would be nice to find some "secret" documentation other than the Line 6 "advanced" manual with more MIDI CC#'s or better yet PC#'s that aren't in the book... Is there anything out there like this? example:: I want to be able to use 1 scene per song. I am using a voodoo lab pedal switching system running dirt boxes. Lets say each of my songs has 3 parts. An intro, verse, solo, etc. I would like to stay within that scene, switching to an entire section on each part change A, B or C. This way I could have my three parts per song and have a total of 48 songs at my disposal. (corporate coverband gigs) If this possibility doesn't exist, couldn't this feature be added in an update? I'm sure I'm not the first to think of this. Thanks.
  5. Hi! I'm trying to configurate my FCB1010 (UnO chip) with the software but i can't really make it work with my gear (Pod Hd Pro X). Do you have any guide that could help me? (already checked on the UnO website and also on Line 6 forums but unfortunately i didn't find something that helped me) or maybe a working Sysex file for the Pod HD Pro X (or also the Hd Pro) that i can send to my Fcb1010 ?? Many thanks in advance to everyone!! :)
  6. Does anyone out there use their Firehawk FX pedal with an iPad app called MIDI Guitar 2? It's an app that will allow your guitar (or in my case Harmonica) to sound like a horn using MIDI. Since the FX doesn't have MIDI, I'm trying to find some kind of solution. Looking for some suggestions and/or routing solutions so feel free to chime in here :)
  7. Can I change via MIDI, in a PODXT, between diferent channels and enable/disable effects with a midi controller like Korg Nanopad? Cheers.
  8. Hello. I bought a Korg Volca Sampler to create drum patterns to complete my one man perfoming, but i've a problem with the sync of the tempos. My pedals are: (the amp is always the same, it has diferent inputs for diferent devices) Guitar -----> PODxt-----> Boss RC-30 ------> Amp Korg Volca Sampler------> Amp I've noticed that the Boss RC-30 doesn't have MIDI SYNC to late :/ So my question is, can I syncronize the tap tempo of the PODxt and the Volca with a MIDI cable? Cheers from Argentina.

    X-Y Pad

Hello, I don't know if this has been answered already, but can you use an XY pad like Matt Bellamy to control the POD HD500? Has anyone tried it? Could it be done? like this
  10. I've been a long time user of the HD500 and recently I've been using it with the 4 cable method and midi to control my EVH 5150 III 50W head. I just bought a DT50 head the other day and i was wondering what the best way to connect my pod to it would be if i just wanted to use it as a pedalboard in front of and in the loop of the amp as well as switching channels with it. The whole l6 link is kind of confusing to me but if that's the best way then I'd appreciate if someone could explain how to use it to me or at least point me in the direction of some helpful resources that aren't just the DT50 manual. I use the amp for pretty much only metal tones so Topology IV is really all that gets used
  11. Hi! Got my Helix this Friday and have spent some time setting things up, it is really transparent, even in my amps extremely transaprent FX-loop there's hardly any discernible tonal change (had to tweak around a bit with line vs instrument level, input impedance etc). HOWEVER!!! Going absolutely crazy here and need HELP! My channel has 4 channels, each channel has boost, pregain, fat-switch and other functions dedicated and midi switchable. So, I set up the helix with bottom row presets (one for each channel) and top row stomps within that preset. This way I can have 5 "variations" on each channel (and 4CM). So, the preset row was easy, I just hit that preset and activate the combinations I want ont he amp, and flip the save toggle on the amp, done! However, example: on preset one (clean), I want the stomp right above that to activate the boost (via midi) and delay at the same time. However, whatever I try in the midi menu it doesn't work. if I save the preset with the delay/boost stomp in off mode and save the amp, fine, that's what engages when I activate that preset. but if I now activate the boost on the amp and hit the delay stomp, and press the save toggle on the amp (not saving on the Helix) it will save that info to the PRESET. So, if I now hit preset two to go to channel two, when I hit preset one again, it will default to the clean channel WITH the boost engaged (and switching the delay stomp on and off does nothing). It's like ONLY the preset row can send midi program change info to the amp PS. for all the presets, I've no assigned ANYTHING to those switches in the global menu, it's like the Helix is still sending something out and the amp saves that info, hence the presets always work just as any midi footswitch I've used in the past, but the stomp row does not. OF course, I could opt to ONLY use presets, but that would leave me with 8 only, I would MUCH rather have it set up as above with on/off switchable stuff within the preset for a total of 20 variations on bank 1 alone. HELP, HILFE, HJÄLP!
  12. Don't know if it's ok to post in two threads (moderators, sorry), but will try my luck. Hello everyone, I'm quite new to the MIDI thing. Say we have two PODs (X3 Pro and HD Pro) in a band and we want the DAW to change programs/presets automatically on both units. From what I've learned I need two midi tracks in my DAW. One set to Channel 1 (X3 Pro), one set to Channel 2 (HD Pro). Corresponding channels are set in the System settings of both PODs. The routing is the following: DAW (Logic Pro X) --> USB to midi cable --> X3 Pro midi in --> X3 Pro midi out --> HD Pro midi in. Problem Markers in midi track 1 (X3 Pro) do make changes on Pod X3, but markers in track 2 (HD Pro) do nothing. The only way it works is setting HD Pro to Channel 1 as well, but then changes are made simultaneously to the same preset (1A on both with program value set to 0, for instance), which is not quite usable. Any ideas?

  14. Is there a MIDI implementation document available for the Helix?
  15. Hi - I was just in the process of putting together a pedalboard with MIDI switcher and effects pedals to change channels / presets on Diezel VH4 and for fx. I just realized that the Helix might be able to cover off both of these. Can anyone confirm or attest to using the Helix in 4cm with a VH4 to change amp channels / presets and be able to use fx before amp and in loop? Unfortunately I just don't know enough about MIDI yet to answer my own questions or understand potential limitations. I see people are doing this with other amps though. If it works though would end up being cheaper / simpler than direction I thought I had to go, so potentially very cool! Thanks
  16. Hey. I have a simple question i'd like to: connect for example a piano/keyboard with midi cable to pod hd500x midi IN then connect Pod's midi out/thru to pc with midi/usb interface then use pod hd switches to control ableton functions via midi, and at the same time control my vst virtual instrument with keyboard. so: is it possible to use pod as midi controller and send midi notes from piano to pc at the same time (with one usb/midi interface)? Sorry for my english (polish native) Thanks in advance Kacper
  17. Okay, I'm gonna take the plunge, and this weekend will sever the umbilical cord, i.e. L6 Link. I have an HD 500, a DT25, a PC with no MIDI connector, and a Tascam US-800 Digital Audio Interface with MIDI connectors that I used for the firmware update. I want to use DT edit instead of my HD500, but I don't know how to send the commands. Is this something that will be obvious once I begin? To be clear, I am able to connect my amp to my computer via the US-800, but I don't know if this connection will serve my new intended purpose. Also, is there any way to control the amp via my HD500 using the MIDI connectors rather than the L6 Link? I haven't heard that this is possible... Thanks!
  18. Hi guys, Trying to sort out reaper sending midi CC's to my Pod to turn effects on and off. We run backing tracks from Reaper live and I want to use CC51 + to turn on and off blocks. I can do this fine. Problem is when our drummer skips through the set list on reaper I have to reset the patch on the pod as the effects turn on and off depending on the last state. Any way I can send say, CC51 Velocity 127 for effect on, and CC51 Velocity 0 for effect off? OR is there any other work around for this apart from resetting the patch each time? Cheers Ash
  19. Hello, I'm trying to connect the old POD Pro to my PC via midi to USB cable. I can't find the specific drivers on Line 6 monkey and it won't detect it automatically. I tried the drivers for the POD 2.0, which seemed to having me getting somewhere. It said 'Turn off your pod, then hold the midi button and power on again', which I did. Then I got this message "Update failed (Code 8000900C) MIDI device timed out for a response make sure cables are connected and try the update again". My POD HDX works fine but I'm having no luck with this one. Any advice would be top banana, Cheers
  20. My M13 is booting up in a strange way. Only the far left screen is on and it says something like "flash,sd, midi, jacks". Has anyone had this problem?? Please help.
  21. Hi! I am a brand new DT25 user. After 10 years without any guitar playing I have restarted it (played guter for 25 years). The DT25 is a amazing little box and I was extremly surprised about what Line6 did in the past years. I struggle with the control of the different Amps and their different Volume Level hat makes it pretty difficult to just use a Midi Floorboard to change between Models. I don´t want to use a HD500 because of size, price and complexity even if it is not that complex to hook it up. Maybe it is the "Guys, I have already payed for the Preamp and I don´t need more!" A solution for me is to use the Midi Event Processor Plus from Midi Solutions. Ive got a used one cheap and I can map 32 CC Events to Program Changes. 32 are enough to switch between actual 5 to 10 Amps (Sounds) plus Volume plus some slight tone control changes. For me it is mostly the presence value. Yes it works fine and the little box can be easily programmed if the CC values are available. I check it with DTEdit plus the Midi OX to analyze (send output A to input B) But if I need, or better want to change a CC setting, I have to attach it to the PC and re-programm the CC setting. Ok for home usage. But not if you go to a differnet location for jamming / playing. You have to reconfigure at least bass, presence and volume to match the locations requirements. To save a new volume level to a program change....... Cool would be a controller with PrgChg to CC Change mapping plus 2 or 3 knobs to map these settings to. Okok, you can use a Behringer DAW Controller for example but the key is something small, easy, cheap. Ok, different world but maybe therer is a solution. Maybe Line 6 accept that some users (and I read tons of similar requests, topics in the communities) want to keep it small and sinple. Maybe they come with a small controller without preamp and effects, Different world again :-) So again - I would appreciate your ideas, solutions, products (if this is allowed within a Line6 portal). Cheers, Peter
  22. Hello everyone, Is it possible to record bass guitar as midi in logic pro x? Thanks in advance for your advice ;)
  23. Hi, I'm trying to sync the tempo in the POD by sending the clock from my DAW (Reaper) via midi. I have two problems. 1.The POD only syncs the tempo when I go to the midi page in the system settings or when I press a footswitch. 2.The synchronized tempo always drifts by -/+0.2bpm and takes a bit of time to sync. I tried with both global and preset options for the tempo. Is there some workaround for these problems? What I'm trying to do is to play backing tracks with tempo changes during the playback and I would like the tempo in the POD to sync with the DAW without me having to press footswitches and without any drifting. Any advice or setting i'm missing in the DAW or in the POD? Thank you
  24. I have a suggestion. I don't know if it is possible within the Firehawk FX firmware to enable a "midi control" effect or box or whatever. Something that works kind of like the internal looper. Set a specific switch to send a midi signal (over USB) or have a way to make the "Tap" switch a midi control... Here is my issue. I'd like to record guitar in to a scene in Ableton Live 9 on the fly (keep the creative juices flowing). Starting and punching in is no problem, but triggering the punch-out is impossible with a guitar in your hands. I've rigged some stuff up in the past with a qwerty keyboard on the floor, but that thing was ugly as hell and killed the vibe. So I've got my Firehawk, a beautiful $400 multi-effects pedal with a USB port. Strange thing is, you guys made that USB port exclusively a firmware update port. Seems like a weird decision to me... but I feel like, since the hardware is already there, you guys could patch in a firmware update that unlocked that USB port so that it could be used in ableton. Also, while we're on the topic, why didn't you create an effect editing tool for PC? Bluetooth connectivity with my phone seems silly when I'm sitting next to my full Windows workstation... and it can be downright annoying with disconnects and whatnot. Just some suggestions.
  25. Hello. I own a Pocket POD with firmware version 1.01. I've been playing with puredata sending MIDI messages to the POD controlling things like volume and wah position. I'm facing something I believe to be a bug on the firmware. Upon receiving lots of MIDI messages (~9/sec), the POD reboots itself both on batteries and power supply. It shouldn't be a fault with my computer (I'm running everything on Linux Mint 17.2 with no additional drivers) since it works at smaller speeds. I tried resflashing the latest firmware 'just in case' today. Around 2 years ago I managed to burn an internal capacitor on it's power stage by misconnecting the power supply. Even tough Line6Hugo said "The Pocket POD is not repairable", I managed to replace the burnt component (which Line6 wouldn't tell me the value of). Everything works fine by now, except that my Pocket POD turns on even with no guitar plugged in, which for me is not a big deal. I just want to know if this is a firmware bug or hardware related. I'm willing to cooperate as much as possible, since MIDI is a supported feature and should be working. Thank you in advance. PS.: pic related. My pocket POD and a second capacitor I bought just in case I blow it again.
