    Snapshots and Command Center Crashing

My Helix crashes when I try to load a snapshot that has Midi Notes commands set up in the Command Center. I am running Firmware 2.82. Has anyone been able to find a solution? Here are some more specific details and examples:: If I am in snapshot one's Command Center and assign a foot switch to a Midi Note On command, I can load snapshot two just fine. I then can then make changes to the Midi Note On command(s) in snapshot two Then when I try to load snapshot one again, my Helix crashes, the screen is dark, and I have to reboot. The Helix would have a lot more value to me if I could use the same Midi Note Commands assigned to the same foot switches in all my snapshots for a preset. As it stands now, I have the Midi Note Commands set up only in snapshot one. I would appreciate your experience, insight, and suggestions!
  2. Hey fellow musicians! Well, the question is kinda simple. Can I/how do I make the Digitakt trigger the Line6 Helix’s looper to start and stop via MIDI? If it is possible please explain it to me in details as I am pretty new to the MIDI world and really have a hard time understanding all the CC messages and so on… Note: I already have my Digitakt sending MIDI cloc, so that the Line6 Helix’s tempo is in sync - I just need it to make a loop that fits(starts and ends) perfectly in grid. Thanks in advance!! <3

externally Control the volume of Powercab

Hi, As I find very difficult to control the volume (home usage) of Powercab 112Plus specially when placed at an angle using the back slide legs , what kinda of options I have? e.g. using a volume pedal (or expression pedal with midi) e.g. using the HX stomp (volume knob) with my foot without obviously affect the volume of the USB interface? e.g. using old blood noise express volume etc. only asking cause i don't know how volume pedals work (why would I add a boost maybe dirty my signal/sound) and yes I don't like the back control panel despite liking the clean front design.

    HX Effects expression button

I am currently building an HX effects into a rack for someone. They will be using 4 cable at the amp. For the most part the drive will be coming from the amp but, they were asking if they could have 1 boost in front of the amp that they could click off/on from the front of stage. All that will currently be at the front of stage is a Voodoo Lab Commander. This will only have MIDI to the HX Effects. I've looked everywhere and can't seem to find a switch that can be run to the expression jack that can be assigned to an effect. I've so far tested a regular switch and a hard switch, both TS/TRS and nothing seems to work. I see that Mission has a pedal that has a toe switch (not sure if that's Helix/Stomp only) but, I don't need an expression pedal. Thanks to anyone that can point me in the right direction of a product or the how-to (switch type, cable type, etc.)!

    Helix MIDI preset changes V2.81

This post is for those who use a PC to trigger MIDI events in Helix. Since I updated to the 2.8 firmware, my USB connectivity for MIDI is not working. I’ve checked all of my settings, reinstalled the ASIO audio driver and validated my USB connection to the PC as I’m able to control Helix perfectly through HX Edit app. I also validated the issue by reverting back to 2.71 and testing and everything worked fine. I also copied all of the global settings so I could reset them all in 2.8. Well, the issue is back and I don’t know what to try next. Any known issues or ideas you can share with us? I really need to resolve this before my upcoming live performances, thanks!

    Midi amp switching per snapshot

Hi there! First post here! Been a happy L6 user since X3 days until my Helix LT and this community has been a source of inspiration. Now I recently got a HX Effects to use with my JVM410H, and everything sounds killer but I wish I could assign different midi messages to different snapshots so that I can switch the amp channels. What I'd like to do is assign snapshot 1 to my clean channel, snapshot 2 to crunch and so on. I've search the forum and only could find info about EXT AMP switching (TS cable) but nothing about midi and snapshots. I guess it has something to do with INSTANT COMMANDS but can't find an answer. What am I missing? Is there a way to do so? Thank you very much, any help will be appreciated.
  7. When I've got my Helix connected to ableton, every time I select a new patch, it sends a pitch bend signal to ableton, which makes programming buttons across multiple patches really obnoxious. Any idea how to stop this from happening?
  8. Hello, I saw a post back in 2016 asking if it is possible to add MIDI foot switch to Pocket POD. (Here is the link to related post https://line6.com/support/topic/19104-pocket-pod-midi-footswitch/) In the below link you may see my solution for controlling Pocket POD using Raspberry Pi W as a MIDI controller. This video shows Pocket POD connection with Raspberry Pi Zero W https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U2I2CBarQQ8 Program runs on Raspberry Pi Zero W. It is also working on Raspberry Pi Model B. You may connect your cell phone or tablet to Raspberry Pi to change presets etc. on Pocket POD. Also I have added buttons and Pots to Raspberry Pi via IO Pins. Therefore I can control Pocket POD with hardwired buttons and potentiometers. I modified a volume pedal to add wah wah control on Pocket POD. Here is the method Volume pedal pot ---> MCP3008 (ADC) ---> Raspberry Pi(running PD) -----(MIDI Control Commands) ---> Pocket POD * Only OTG cable required to connect both devices * At the end of the video I tried Wah Wah with tablet's motion sensor. I forgot my tablet does not have motion sensor :). But it works with my phone. Shake your phone and you get Wah Wah effect. 9. Hi, I bought an HX Effects yesterday, absolutely loving the tones and functions. Now I am looking to delve into using MIDI to change the channel on my Blackstar Series One 45; to change from 'Warm Clean' with an Orange LED to 'Super Crunch' with a Red LED, changing between these two on a footswitch press. Any advice please? This is the first time I've ever used MIDI and I'm not fully sure what to do. Thank you all.
  10. Hey Everyone!! I am wondering if the Helix Control outputs general midi through the USB port like a standard USB midi controller and if so would that mean its possible to use it to control a daw as a stand-alone midi controller without the helix rack? Im just looking for a good midi controller that has scribble strips... and the helix control would be perfect for what I need!! if it sends midi. Also, would it be possible to edit the scribble strips without the helix rack? Thank, Cheers!
  11. Hi, new to the forum and am the owner of a new Helix. I am..was MIDI illiterate, and tried to get info online on how to control my Invective with the Helix without much luck. Any threads regarding this topic usually had very vague information, probably with the notion that whoever was reading it already had an understanding of MIDI...which I didn't. So...this is for the people out there like me. Step one...plug in the footswitch that comes with the Invective and press the Channel 1 select button. Then press the Preset Mode button until all the buttons blink red. Then select Channel 1, and disconnect the footswitch from the amp. Insert MIDI cable from Helix...a 5 pin unlike the 8 pin that the Invective comes with into the amp. Next, go to Global Settings and select MIDI/TEMPO. Select Midi Base Channel as Omni. Then toggle to Preferences and make sure that Snapshot Edits are on "Recall"...not "Discard". Next..hit Menu, and select Command Center. I use the Instant Commands so I can use it with snapshots. Toggle over to Instant 1 in Bank/Program Mode. Set MIDI Channel to 1, leave the Bank CC00 and Bank CC32 blank. Then look in the Invective manual Pages 13-15, and select the Program number with the configuration that you want into the "Program" box in the Command Center. Exaple: If you want the 1st channel with Loop 1 on..enter 36 If you want the 3rd channel with the Gate, Boost, Master boost, and Loop 1 enter 59. It's so simple. I can't believe it took me as long as it did to figure out. And lastly, press save before leaving the Preset and all your settings will stick. I hope I can help some other clueless people like myself with these instructions.
  12. Hi I have Line6 Pod Hd500x as a multi-effect unit when I play with my guitar. At the same time, I want to use Ableton Live 10 during live performances to launch midi clips (e.g. a Violin part). I know how to map midi keys from controllers or laptop. So, I know how to do this using a dedicated midi controller (e.g. M-AUDIO Keystation32) or my laptop keyboard. My question is can I also map the knobs of POD HD500x (e.g. FS2, FS3 etc.) as midi “keys” in Ableton so that I don’t have to use a separate midi foot controller for this purpose? Has anyone done this with Ableton Live and Line 6 POD HD500x? Thanks in advance George
  13. Hi there, I have benn using my Helix LT for a year or two now and one of the feature I use the most is midi remote control from Cubase 10. We play to a clic and follow a Cubase project and all my preset and snapshot changes are triggered from a midi track in cubase assigned to helix through midi over USB. What I would like to do now is to get rid of the FBV shortboard MKII that I use to start, stop and navigate through Cubase markers and use Helix to do that instead. The problem I run into is that whenever I go to a certain marker using Helix as my midi remote, Cubase then sends back a midi program change command to Helix in order to go to the appropriate preset. When this happens, Helix then transmit back a midi command to Cubase telling it where it's at and releasing the footswitch now that I'm in a new preset also sends a midi command back to Cubase... this gives some weird behaviors like midi feedback and dual commands (press once but feels like I pressed twice) and most of the time all will fail. Is there a way to seperate the midi channel from the DAW remote from the midi channel from the preset/snapshot control? Thank you!

    HX Effects midi control stomp

I’ve had the HX Effects for a while and I’ve loved it so much I decided to get the Stomp for the amp modeling. My question is can I use the FX to midi control the Stomp? Specifically I would like to be able to change between snapshots and presets on the stomp and blocks within a preset on the FX. I’m new to midi and I am totally lost. Thanks in advance for the help.
  15. Is anyone aware of and can point me to a tutorial on configuring my Helix Rack to be controlled with my DAW? I know the information is available in the manual(s) if you know what you're doing and how to use it, but I don't. I'm using Presonus Studio one pro for my DAW (win7), a Presonus sutdio 18/24 for my interface. I've also downloaded and installed HX edit. Hooking up cables, establishing midi channels is easy enough, but getting things to talk to each other, not so much. I'm a reasonably tech savy kind of guy and can probably figure it out eventually but finding a tutorial and some tips and tricks to speed that along would be nice. In hindsight, I probably should've gone with the helix native plugin, and will probably go ahead and get it, but, I've got the rack so here we are. :)

    Can the Looper be synced?

Can the looper be Midi controlled to start and stop recording? I've been writing some tunes that for live use I could really use a the looper on the helix but we play with a click and I've been working on midi clocking my preset for the set list and it got me thinking if I could set it up loops to match up with the click.

Triggering patches in hd500 via midi

Hey guys. My band recently got a program called Showbuddy which will be controlling our entire lightshow and backing tracks. All of our songs have been pre-programmed with cues for the lights. This program also does midi cues as well so I thinking of using it to cue up all of my patch changes within my hd500x so I never have to touch it all show. Has anyone done with this specific program before?
  18. Hi, I just got my Helix Rack yesterday and i bought an used FCB1010 foot controller to go with it, because I needed the Rack version and can't afford the Helix Control right now. I would like to configure it to work with the Helix but having absolutely no experiences with MIDI and amp modelers, I really don't know how to do it and where to start, or even what is possible to do beside switching presets. I pretty much only find informations on how to use the Helix AS a midi controller but that's obviously not what I want to do. So, If someone could help me, and/or point me to good documentation about this, It would be greatly appreciated!
  19. Hi all, I'm Chris. A couple days ago - and completely on a whim - I put in an offer on an HX Stomp and won it for a price I didn't expect. After a weekend spent searching for answers on how to make it work for my rig, I give up and this is my first post. I have a couple amplifiers and I've been looking for somewhat of an "all in one" pedalboard solution for a while. My main amp is a Mesa Triple Crown 50, which (as I'm sure many of you are aware) has MIDI channel switching capabilities, an FX loop, all that jazz. I've been looking at replacing a good chunk of my pedal board (SA Nemesis Delay, Boss DC-2w, Walrus Audio Lilian Phaser, EHX Pitch Fork, Wampler Ego Comp) for a while and don't doubt the HX series, on a high level, has what it takes to do the job. I intend on fully utilizing the 4-cable method to make the most of it. Here's my dilemma. The TC-50 is a three-channel amplifier and has MIDI control over channel switching, FX loop, reverb and solo boosts. In a perfect world, I would have access to all three channels and solo boost in various combinations along with various effects from the HX. Ideally, I'd be able to access 6-8 presets encompassing channel switching/effects combinations readily. I was sold on the HX Effects (due in part to the additional loop to add a fuzz/drive/gate pedal on top) until I read about latency when using MIDI to switch amp settings. The snapshot workaround isn't something that'd work for me when limited to 4 per preset. So, enter the need for a MIDI controller. I've looked at them all at this point, from Disaster Area to BOSS to Morningstar. It seems as though the Morningstar MC6 MKII is the gold standard. Here's the big question - can I use an external MIDI controller to switch amplifier channels while simultaneously pulling up different effects combinations on the HX Stomp/Effects without lag/latency issues? And, as an alternative, would there be any benefits to adding a Boss ES-8, if for nothing else, to be able to switch amplifier channels while sorting effects placement, if I added an overdrive/boost/etc pedal to the mix? Would an HX Effects/Morningstar combo make more sense for that? Agh! Thanks in advance -- I should also note that there's a decent chance I'm overthinking this. :)

    Midi Sync - Ver. 2.71 - help

I cannot get the midi clock from my sequencer to affect the tempos in Helix. What am I doing wrong? Where can find good documentation? I'm using an MPC 1000 sequencer - it's midi out is plugged into the midi in of the Helix. Nothing is happening at all.
  22. Hi everybody. I have an issue. I recently bought the Behringer V-amp pro and i will like to use it with my Line 6 M13 as a midi controller. I can do that, when i am in the mode scene, i can change the presets right on the v-amp pro, but when i try to add an effect of my M13 the settings on the v-amp are changed too... Can somebody explain me how can i solve this mistery?? Connections: M13 into the loop (stereo) of the V-amp for all my modulations/effects, and also connected by a midi cable to change the amps. Thanks
  23. I've been racking my brain over this for a while. Granted, I'm pretty much a MIDIot, although having finally taken a class on MIDI last Spring (mainly covered electronic music development, sadly) I just can't seem to figure this out: I have a Helix Floor connected to my Mac via USB I have an Akai MPK Mini connected to my Mac via USB How can I get the MPK to bypass a footswitch or change a parameter on my Helix? Thanks in Advance

    HX Stomp midi footswitch question

Hi Folks, Just got a HX Stomp. Great pedal! One seemingly silly question I have is: will a 3 or 4 button midi amp footswitch work with the HX Stomp? (Like a Peavey or Randall 4 or 5 switch for amps) for turning fx on and off? Or would I be better off with a Midi Mongoose. I don't want to spend any more than $125 if possible. Whats an inexpensive way to add foot switches. -Sorry if this has been covered elsewhere. Just joined. Thanks!
