  1. One of my plans with the stadium was to run the band lights with Showcase, my DMX light controller requires midi notes to change the scenes, banks and chases. I can select midi notes from the Command centre but I can't see an option to send note messages from the midi flags in song mode. I've got a bad feeling that it's not possible, add that to not being able to trigger songs from an external midi source and I may have jumped on Stadium too early.
  2. Hello all! I'm new to my Helix StadiumXL and working on sending some midi commands to my amp. Question: In Command Center, can you send midi commands when you switch snapshots? It appears only able to do so using StompA or B and using the commands triggered loading the preset. Just wanted to double check I'm not missing something easy I can make it work using stomp mode but it would be nice to attach a midi out command to each snapshot switch. thanks!
  3. Hey guys, could need some help. At first let me explain the setup. Signal chain: Notebook (Windows 11) with show setup in Reaper -> USB-cable - Helix 1 -> MIDI-cable -> Helix 2 -> MIDI-cable -> Doremidi MIDI to DMX translator -> DMX-cable -> lights and fog machine In the Reaper project we have our click and backing tracks and MIDI-signals to change our Helix presets and snapshots and also to control the lights and the fog machine. Everything is set to a different channel. Helix 1 has its own, Helix 2 has its own and every part of the light show has its own channel. On Helix 1 there a three buttons set up to hit play and pause or to jump between the songs within the Reaper project. The buttons are set separately within every snapshot of our bass player to make sure he has the controls no matter which sound he’s using. Basically this setup runs pretty smooth but from time to time we have the problem that when we start the show then after a few moments Helix 1 does not receive any signal from Reaper anymore. It is to be seen on TAP LED which normally turns blue and flashes in the rhythm of the show but then just flashes in red and just in the Tempo which is set on the Helix itself and of course our presets and snapshots won’t change anymore and also the light show doesn’t work anymore. Also controlling the show via Helix 1 (play/pause/change song) isn’t possible in this state. The Helix itself runs normally and you can switch between sounds as you please but the connection to the notebook is obviously lost though reaper doesn’t state that the device can’t be found. Close Reaper, restart Helix 1, start Reaper again and everything runs again as it should. Can somebody explain this behavior to me? Windows Updates are made, Reaper is up to date, both Helix are up to date and the used cables are pretty fresh. Thanks in advance! Cheers Tim
  4. Hi, I would liket to find a way, to get a fixed note delay, where everything is the same, like normal, basic delay, except, the pitch is fixed, (for ex: E) I can accept some limitations, so I can live with a sampler, triggerd by the helix - I have some gear, so, for example, if helix can trigger a midi signal everytime, when I play a note, probably, I can figure the thing out, with a sampler, or something. It would be easier with the HX only, but it's probably impossible. In this point, after I tried to google it, it looks like, only the buttons can be used for midi, but it's possible, tha I've just missed something. Thank you!
  5. I feel like I may have unlocked some new possibilities but I don’t know why I can’t get it to work. I use my volume pedal a lot in playing so when I record guitar it’s easiest to just go XLR out from my Helix Floor into Logic Pro. However then all my effects are baked into the recording. As you know, it’s always better when you can edit amp and effect settings afterward but the way I play doesn’t really allow me to play a dry signal. So I tried something that seemed kinda smart but I can’t get it to work. I created three tracks in Logic. 1. A stereo track of my processed signal. 2. A dry signal with no effects. 3. An external MIDI track that captures the position of my volume pedal as I play. My thinking is that I would be able to copy that MIDI data from the automation window on the piano roll, apply Helix Native to the dry guitar track, and then paste that MIDI data into the volume pedal block in Native. I’ve set my Exp 1 for be MIDI channel 7 and when I record it works. I can see all the little key frames in the automation window of the piano roll for that track. I can then copy that data. However, I can’t find where to paste that data. When I turn the automation on in the track view and try to paste it in the region it just pastes the region from the MIDI track over top of the dry guitar. Also, when I right click and assign CC7 in the volume pedal position in Native, I can’t find that in the drop down menu in the automation section of the track. What am I missing?
  6. I am attempting to control my Digitech DT Whammy via Midi from the Helix Floor. I have it working correctly with my FCB1010, and it works correctly going FCB1010 > Helix and Thru > Digitech All I am sending is a PC, not a CC This does not seem to be an option in the Helix, unless I'm missing something as it seems to always require a CC# and I've tried ALL of them I have all clock settings off
  7. I set up a two-button midi footswitch where the right button goes to Preset List with just one click (CC-5, Value 1), as opposed to hitting the two on-pedal switches -- this works fine, gets me to the preset list. But then I can't get the same midi footswitch to select a preset from the list, by either using CC-5/Value 1 again or Value 0 (Home), this latter surprised me because clicking the Home button on the pedal does select the preset highlighted in preset list. Using the manual, pg. 31, isn't helping me find an answer. Is there a MIDI CC+Val I'm missing that will select the preset from preset list? Thank you!
  8. Using MIDI commands, after loading/selecting new preset and changing it, loading same preset again does not reloads effect rather keeping it with the last change. How can I reload the preset again?
  9. More than three years ago, I started a thread about a DIY Midi Controller I built. This thing has been on my pedalboard ever since, but I redesigned it to use another microprocessor (Arduino Pro Micro). I also created a website with all required ressources (3D-print-files, drill-templates, build instructions, programming guide,...): https://sites.google.com/view/ekano/start This new version will be recognized by you computer as an input device once connected to your USB-C-Port. This being said, it can control your DAW or plugins or anything midi on your computer as well... Enjoy reading, building, programming, playing.
  10. Oddball question: Is there a way to use an expression pedal connected to helix as a way to rapidly switch between a series of entirely different presets or snapshots? Say, using the 0-10% or a single expression pedal for a Van Halen inspired preset, the 11-20% for a Djent-inspired preset, the 21-30% for a jazz fusion preset, the 31-40% for a polysynth, etc.? I'm reasonably familiar with presets, and snapshots, but what I'm asking about isn't using an expression pedal as a switch to turn on and off individual effects within a preset, but having the exp pedal serve like an additional set of toeswitches in preset mode that are quickly rotatable, whether using one of the EXP inputs or MIDI. A basic use case might be holding down a single note or chord and rocking the exp back and forth to create a swirling series of entirely different, independent guitar tones. Is it possible? If so, how?
  11. Hello, How can we retrieve the presets, snapshots, bank names or list using MIDI ? (SysEx,CC, PC, Note or else ?) Is this possible ? Thank you very much for any help on it. Best regards.
  12. Hello, afters years with my trusty PodGo, I just bought a used HX Effects. Brilliant pedal, works well but I'm stuck when it comes to sending midi signals. I'm trying to use Control center in snapshot mode to send a program change to a ToneX pedal. I've seen a lot of people doing it with HXFX or HX Stomp, it's as simple as chosing the midi channel, setting the CC00 as the bank then chosing the program. Yet it fails changing anything on the destination pedal ( I'm plugged with a brand new 5 pin cable in the midi in of ToneX from HXFX's midi out). What I've tried : -> Turning MIDI PC Tx to OFF and also with Rx set to Midi -> changing midi channels on both pedals / setting HXFX to be "omni" -> Resetting the HXFX pedal to factory settings Basically I tried a lot midi setups in the HX. Am I missing something in the settings? Is there a way (some king of diagnostic?) to know the midi port is healthy? I'm of course investigating to see if the problem comes from the destination pedal too. Thanks in advance for your attention, My current setup :
  13. According to the manual, CC70 is "All Bypass". But is that analogous to Tap+Mode TRUE Bypass?
  14. I've scoured the manual and noted the various MIDI settings, but I can't see a way of scrolling up/down through presets via MIDI... Am I missing something? I'm running a GigRig G3 and it would be great to be able to assign a footswitch to "preset up/down"
  15. I have a HOTONE Ampero Control Sending MIDI to a Timefactor and then THRU to my HX One. Currently PC messages and some CC messages are working fine, but I cannot get it to respond to CC64-127 (tap tempo) or CC93-127 (enter tap tempo). I have tried everything I can think of... MIDI Clock RX off, on, auto. (When set to on or auto, MIDI clock is working fine -- Clock coming from Timefactor) As I said above, other CC messages are working fine, but can't get anything related to tap to work properly. Wondering if this might be a bug. I am on software 3.71.0
  16. Hi! I am trying to get some external control over Helix via Max Msp, through midi (midi over USB cable is what I use). I would like to control specific parameters like delay's feedback or mix level, things that need to be assigned to a DIAL, knob, slider- it cannot be a toggle switch. I have already managed to achieve this to some extend- I have assigned the ext pedal through the 'control assign' to control delay feedback. Then assigned the dial in Max Msp to control the ext pedal via midi. So that works and my dial influences the amount of feedback level. The only thing is that I would like now to have more assignments like this, and, in the command centre, there are mostly toggle switches to work with, and only two pedals which allow me to have a smooth movement. Is there a way to directly assign my parameters to Max Msp's dials, or any other way that will allow me to escape the architecture of the device? Or something I haven't thought of yet? I will be grateful for any suggestions, Aga
  17. I've been trying to figure out how to control my Strymon Iridium with my Hx Effect by utilizing the CC, alas, I'm a midiot and I haven't been able to figure out how. Is anyone using the Hx effect to use the Iridium's amp channels as a part of their signal flow? That's ultimately what I'm trying to do instead of relying on the effect processor's distortion pedals. I have the 1/4" trs- 5 pin midi cable.
  18. Hi! I have a problem with midi clock transmission via usb from the HX Stomp to iPad (i use AUM mixer app). AUM recognize HX Stomp as hardware interface but it seems that HX Stomp don't send any midi command via usb. I'm really frustrating because i would like to sync tempo via usb from XH Stomp to other plugin on AUM mixer (like delay or tremolo etc...). Can you please help me to resolve this issue? Thanks in advance
  19. I have a strymon BigSky connected to Helix floor via stereo effects loop and controlled by midi. All firmware and software is up to date, including Nixie and HX edit and global command is set up correct in Helix. The problem is anytime I tell the helix to switch to a plate reverb setting on the big sky (using instant commands), it switches to the plate reverb but makes the big sky display the low end parameter value instead of the name of the plate reverb. I don’t have this problem switching to other reverb settings on the BigSky, only the plate reverbs. Does anyone have an idea on how to fix this? I tried troubleshooting this with Strymon and using third party midi app to send the same messages works just fine, as well as selecting the plate reverb in Nixie using the Roland midi cable. I’m pretty sure the issue is with my helix somehow. TIA!
  20. Hello, I recently thought about an idea that could increase the flexibility and functionality of the HX Stomp. I posted the idea on the Idea Scale. I would greatly appreciate any feedback or suppor for the idea if you like it. Here is the link to the post on the Idea Scale: https://line6.ideascale.com/c/idea/103088 And here is the idea itself: Adding a LOOPER MODE as a footswitch mode to the HX Stomp would be cool. It could be accessible as other modes or via MIDI (0=Stomp, 1=Scroll, 2=Preset, 3=Snapshot, 4=Next footswitch mode, 5=Previous footswitch mode, 6=LOOPER MODE). In this mode, you could have the 3 footswitches on the Stomp dedicated to the looper functions of the 1-switch looper, expanding on its functionality to a full 6-switch looper: FS1 - REC/OVEDUB (long press UNDO) FS2 - PLAY/STOP (long press HALF SPEED) FS3 - PLAY ONCE (long press REVERSE) LINE 6 has introduced LOOPER MODES in the past (M9, POD HD-500X), so maybe it is possible with the Stomp as well. This would greatly expand the functionality of the Stomp in my opinion, since one could be more flexible with assigning the footswitches in STOMP MODE.
  21. Hey there, I am a newbie struggling with the HX Stomp Midi controls. In my setting I want the hx stomp to switch my amp's channels when I select a preset on the stomp. I already managed to assign the relevant midi cc commands to the footswitches. However, the normal hx's function would be that I have to press the footswitch when the preset is already active. However, I would like to customize presets that can be selected with a single hit on the footswitch including switching channels on my amp. Is there a way to send a midi command when a PRESET ist selected (and not when a snapshot or a FS "within" the preset is activated)? I am looking forward to you replies. Maybe there is a simple way I just have not found yet... Thank you! Edit: I was able to send the right midi commands by configuring the inserts in the command Center. Each preset can now change my amp’s channels. unfortunately, while the amp reacts immediately there is a noticeable gap until the right sound is properly dialed in. I assume it is an Hx stomp issue. does anybody have any experience with that problem?
  22. Hello, I want to send the MIDI Clock from my selected song in OnSong to my Helix - wirelessly. After days of experimenting I finally found this page OnSong's website that says OnSong' s MIDI Clock should never be used wirelessly due to latency problems. Since I'm a bit stubborn I thought there might be a way around this, where I can somehow use OnSong to send a MIDI message to the Helix to just set the BPM of the selected Helix Preset without using MIDI Clock. Any ideas if this is possible? Many thanks in advance! Peter
  23. I cannot seem to get the dl4 mkii to respond to the midi notes listed in the users guide when I send them from my morningstar mc6 pro. I found another user asking about the same thing on the morningstar site with no resolve posted as of yet. https://forum.morningstar.io/t/sending-midi-note-on-messages-to-the-dl4/4316/2 I have tried moving the octave to every possibly position and cannot get the looper to respond to any of the commands on any note. I am hoping to get this to work, because it simplifies the looper control from the mc6 side. If I end up having to go the cc# route it will take more switches. Any one got it to work using the midi notes they defined in the guide? Thanks!
  24. Is anyone here pretty experienced with automating preset and snapshot changes inside Logic Pro X? I’m having an issue with automating the changes to while sending hotkey messages to control Logic. Curious if my problem is in command center or in the setup of the midi track within Logic. Hotkeys work perfectly until I start to automate patch / snapshot changes. As soon as I add the automation track, the hotkeys glitch out. I've also used MIDI notes instead of hotkeys and still encounter the same issue. So, for example. I’ve got hotkeys set up for play, stop, cycle, next marker, and previous marker. Momentary switches. Works perfectly without issue. Then I add the automation track. When I hit the play button on the Helix, the button acts like a latching button and causes the whole project to glitch out. Only way to fix it is to turn off the Helix and restart Logic. Hopefully I’ve explained this in a semi-understandable way haha thanks in advance for any advice on how to fix this!
  25. Hi by using protools with another software mutools in the same computer i can use all rtas vst tdm plugins in realtime with a very few latency of 64 samples. just see the video demo here where i use protools with mutools https://www.ayewind.com/use-native-plugin-without-in-realtime-without-latency and another video demo where i use amp farm 2 rtas on bass and guitar with protools and cubase. thanks for your reply i will be happy to share with you how to make it wotk in your configuration. best regards weesch
