  1. I just bought a hafler T3 tube preamp (sounds great in the pods FX loop BTW) and i'm sending channel switches to it from the pod HD pro for each bank. The default is 1A = 1 , 1B=2, 1C = 3 etc... is it possible to change what each patch sends as a midi signal, or am i stuck with the default? I really just want every patch to send either a 1 or 3 (clean or gain2), maybe a 2 for D, for the patches that i'll be using the preamp, the rest i'll still be using models so won't need MIDI. My banks all follow the same pattern, I use all 16 banks but with same general setup in each bank. What i don't want to do is send the MIDI signals by hitting a footswitch after changing patches- i want the T3 to go the correct channel when i hit footswitch a,b,c or d A=1, B=3,C=3,D=2 for every bank/setlist any help?
  2. This just started happening tonight, after working fine for a few months. I have my HD500 connected to an M5, Whammy 5, and Source EQ through a MIDI Solutions Quadra Thru. Was playing a few songs before I noticed that the tempo leds were falling out of sync. Never happened before. Tried resetting tempo a few times, but it kept on happening. The leds would flash in sync as I was tapping the HD500 tempo switch, and then after a few beats, they would lose each other. Has anyone experienced this and found a reason/solution?
  3. So I use an m-audio midiport to change my pod's patches during live shows. However when a patch changes, there is a small interruption of sound (for about half a second) which sounds bad in the mix... Is there a way to make the change faster? If not, I basicly change between rythm and lead patches, so can I change some parameters of the patch (like turning pedals on/off. or amp settings) using MIDI signals? I just want to make our live sound as perfect as it can get...
  4. Hi chaps, could anyone explain, in real idiot's guide style, how to set the L6 Link controls in my presets. Most presets I download seem to be set to Midi Ch 1 but the user guide and all the line 6 videos seem to suggest Amp A (Ch 1). This setting is never available to me, only Amp A (Ch 2). What does all this mean? When I change these settings "on the fly", it's definitely switching the topology on my DT25 so which setting is correct? Thanks in advance for any advice.
  5. I can't change pod presets using midi floor controller, pod ignore command. Is there someone can suggest me how to solve this problem? Thanks
  6. Hi everyone, I connect my HD500 to the DT50 using the L6 link. I have a new Strymon Big Sky (oh, so beautiful!) to use instead of the HD500 reverbs. I want to run it in the DT50's effects loop so I don't have to use up a slot in my HD500's effects chain. I also want the Big Sky to see the program change MIDI messages so I can create a reverb patch for each HD500 patch. When I wire everything up on the DT50, I am able to 1) get the Big Sky into the effects loop path successfully and 2) get the Big Sky to respond properly to program changes. However, the problem I run into is the DT50 seems to send a bunch of other unwanted additional MIDI CC messages to the Big Sky, overriding the saved patch settings. One hint of this is when I select a patch on the HD500, the Big Sky switches to its associated patch, but the reverb machine selected is Room instead of the programmed machine, plus the LED indicator is Orange instead of Green, which means the programmed patch has been modified since loading. When I rotate the patch selector knob to the intended patch, it loads properly with the correct reverb machine and the LED stays Green as it should. So I believe the additional MIDI CC messages are confusing the Big Sky. When I run the Big Sky off of my HD500 directly, it works as it should. So the DT50 MIDI out is sending more info that desired for this. I have a support ticket filed, but I figured I'd throw this question out there to see if anyone else has solved this. Thanks! Randy
  7. I'd like to use pro tools control pod hd500x. I use a midi channel to do this. But I cannot find "bank change( CC#00 ) in pro tools. I can change presets in the same setlist. I use pro tools 10.3.9.. How could I change pod hd500x setlists by midi signal in pro tools?
  8. Another idea which would make my life easier if implemented: http://line6.ideascale.com/a/dtd/Restart-internal-clock-by-MIDI-Footswitch/690702-23508 Shouldn't be hard for Line 6 to pull this off over MIDI. The tricky part would perhaps be assigning it to a footswitch (I'm HD Pro guy so not sure but I think Tap Tempo footswitch is hard assigned, right?). I understand if a drummer uses a click and I need to sync to it we should have it synchronized using an external clock but anyway, would be nice. Moreover, I don't think it's possible to control the start of the loop with external clock, or is it? Does anybody have experience with this?
  9. I know that a lot of people see USB connectivity making midi obsolete. I've noticed that the two latest pedal boards, both of which seem to be really awesome lack a midi connection. Our band runs on midi, we use it to control our lights, keyboard program changes, and program changes on both of our guitar effects units so we don't have to do the river dance during a performance. Lack of midi means that I pretty much will not be a buyer for either of these products which makes me sad. I'm a loyal Variax user and would have really like to run the Firehawk through the paces to see if it could best my Boss GT-100. I love the connectivity via bluetooth and see so much potential. If only it had midi......
  10. I am trying to do automatic pod hd pro x patch changing in Repaer with MIDI, but I can't see the Pod in the MIDI output devices, only as an input device.. Any ideas why? Screenshot:
  11. hey everyone I'm a guitarist who records with my Line 6 UX1 and POD Farm, and I'm looking for someone to do some drum tracks for me. A drummer or someone who can program drums for an online collaboration for 2 or 3 songs, even if its programmed drums or a MIDI file I can edit that would work as well, and I'm willing to pay. I'm recording some originals and covers in Reaper and I need drum tracks for the songs. Hard rock/metal songs for now probably one original and one cover. You need to be able to record your drums in your home studio or studio with good quality and be able to send the tracks to me over the internet so I can record guitar with what you played! Please let me know! E-Mail me we can talk over email, facebook, or by phone. It doesn't matter where you live. Here's some other songs I did with my band, Caidema, to show you the kind of style I play in: • https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=spt0o80FLgs and • https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qsq_CkjG52k Thank You -Matt • MatthewIan84@gmail.com • www.Facebook.com/CaidemaBand • www.Facebook.com/Mattianalbano
  12. I'm trying to control via MIDI the M9 with a Joyo PLX Live pedal switching system. But it isn't so easy. Does anyone have experience with that? Could you share with me?
  13. I've started using my HD500X as a midi controller in Ableton Live. I'm currently using it to control different parameters across several HD patches. For example patch 1A controls electric guitar settings (S Gear), patch 1B controls loopers in Ableton, patch 1C controls acoustic guitar settings, etc On patch 1A I put effects in the effects slots of the HD to give me visual feedback for what switches are turned on/off. This way if I turn delay on for example the corresponding footswitch lights up so I know it's on. This works out great, until I have to change patches to control something else and then come back to patch 1A. It restores which effects are on/off based on the saved state so my visual feedback is out the window. I don't think that there is a way around this but I thought I'd ask to see if anyone has any ideas. The two solutions I can think of are: 1. Have the HD500 return to the last state of a patch used instead of the saved state (from what I can tell it just doesn't do this) 2. Have the HD receive data from Ableton to coordinate when the lights on the footswitches should be on based on midi note on/off (pretty sure that's impossible). I'm stumped on how to accomplish this, or if it's even possible. If any one has any ideas I'm all ears! Thanks
  14. Hello, i have a pod pro hd and peak fcb8n. Preset works perfect, but the CC instant button doesn't work correctly. When set up fs1 fs2 fs3... on CC 51,52,53 works good, the cc active and inactive, the problem come when i change the preset, the effects not saved as the FCB8N is indicated. Sorry for my english :( greetings
  15. I have found some scaterred info on the MIDI topic, but not exactly what I want, so here it is: I wanted to use the POD XT Live as a foot controller for POD Farm/UX 2. Is it possible via MIDI? And if yes, to what extent (like, can I use the expression pedal to work with volume/wah/bender)? I have both the USB cable and a M-Audio UNO. Thanks in advance
  16. Hello World! I recently upgraded from a Spider IV 75 to a used Vetta II. I only play to entertain myself at home, which is why I didn't throw down the money for a Fractal AXE-FX. All is well except a couple of bugs that I was hoping you could help sort out. I'm assuming certain things are user error. 1. I was flipping through the factory presets, I'd find an interesting preset, attempt to turn off the effects one by one and the amp would either revert back to original settings or the effect wouldn't turn off at all. In the long run this isn't too important as I'll end up just setting up my own tones. I was just worried that this was indicative of some sort of issue. 2. When I turn on the amp with the FBV Shortboard plugged in, the volume pedal always seems to need resetting (just backed off to zero and back up). 3. When researching to connect to the Line6 Monkey software, I've seen that m-audio uno is the only way to go. However, there's no drivers available for Windows 8.1. Has anyone had any success on this front? Thanks for any input.
  17. Hey, I really REALLY like the Line 6 POD Pro X, because it's unbelievably affordable and sounds great. But, I don't like the Line 6 controllers very much. Can I hook up a normal midi controller to it? Also, how many other midi devices can I control at the same time? On an unrelated note, I play 8 and 10 stringed guitars, and will this be able to handle that kind of low end? Does the chromatic tuner work that well? Thanks!
  18. Question, My current set-up needs some help. My rivera KR7 Knucklehead has MIDI controlled by Rivera's Headmaster footswitch. The Headmaster sends PC changes only. My goal is to set a scene for each of the Headmaster's footswitches. Example; Headmaster footswitch 1 is Channel-1 "clean" with reverb and effects loop active. Midi PC 01 to M9 works fine for scene 2B Headmaster footswitch 2 is Channel-1 "clean w/boost, reverb and effects loop active. Midi PC 01 to m9 works fine for scene 1B Problem; The M9 will only switch scenes on channel 1 where I want 6 individual scenes for each channel ex.. (2) scenes ea for channel 1, 2, 3. why has the M9 choosen 1B & 2B with the MIDI PC from the Headmaster? Is there a way to dedicate a seperate midi channel per scene? The only option I haven't explored is changing the MIDI control flow. Should the M9 send MIDI PC istead of recieve them to accomplish this? Current hook up is, Headmaster MIDI out / M9 MIDI in. Do I need to go M9 MIDI out / Rivera MIDI in-thru?
  19. Is it possible? I'm not above getting MIDI distribution hardware to make it happen, but this would enable me to do some cool stuff.
  20. I tried to update to firmware v2.0 using Monkey. The update threw the following error: Tyler Variax update failed. (Code 80009000) Unknown MIDI Error After pulling and replacing the 1/4 connector on the guitar to reboot it and restarting Monkey, it showed that the firmware was at 2.0 -- but ALL OF THE MODELS ARE GONE, GONE, GONE... I tried rolling back to v1.71 but it ALSO terminated with the same error message, same result - NO MODELS and it also SAYS it's back at v1.3, NOT 1.71 as when it was delivered! THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE BEHAVIOR!!! PLEASE PROVIDE A FIX IMMEDIATELY OR THIS GUITAR WILL BE RETURNED!!!! I also logged this problem this morning as: "Download From Guitar Clobbering Workbench Hd Settings"
  21. Hello all! I recently purchased an old original Pod Pro Rack on Craigslist. I bought it to record with and am having issues getting other tones loaded onto it. The other guitarist in my band uses a Pod XT Pro rack to record with and I am wondering if it's possible to get his tones onto my incredibly old rack? We had to read the respective manuals for our units and tried to send his tones to my rack via MIDI cable. We sent his patches but we couldn't tell if they made it to my rack or not. If it did work I have know idea how to access the tones he sent. It seems that just the stock presets from my unit are all there is. My screen said "9 D" at the time we sent the patches. Is that what the tones would be under? Am I doing anything wrong or are our two Pods incompatible due to their age difference? Any help or tips would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
  22. I'm looking for some advice on hooking my HD500 up through MIDI. I've never used MIDI before so the concepts are beyond my current scope. I'm about to purchase a Hughes and Kettner Tubemeister 36, and was going to get the pedal for it, but then when looking through the specs remembered that my POD has MIDI in it. Would I be able to switch back and forth between channels using the foot switches? I want to use the effects in the POD, vs selling it and purchasing a M-13 or something so that I've got the range of other features the POD offers. Has anyone tried this? Curious about the "language" between the H&K and the POD to make sure that they sync up correctly, or does all MIDI do that automatically because MIDI IS the language? Any help would be awesome. Thanks! Justin
  23. I'm shopping around, and I'm trying to set up a rig ideal for a multiple punk rock sounds, as I have a variety of influences and dont want to be limited to one specific sound. As a one man project, I want to use this device as my sole effects box, for recording and live purposes, without a lot of clutter from multiple pedals, having to worry about batteries, patch cords, etc. currently I own a pod ux2 that I've had combined with its included licensed pod farm, while thats been nice for recording, I've had some issues regarding its dependability on constantly needing to verify my license, it wasn't always a problem, but lately its been problem. Almost every time I load pod farm as a plug in I need to verfiy the license. Not ideal for recording or live performance, so I want the ability to have these effects without having to drag a ux2 into it. Still usable for plug in edits, but not good for live. Getting back on track here, i don't know a lot about midi controllers, but I was wondering if and how I would connect the pod hd500x to my computer to control a media player to play my backup tracks, using a foot switch instead of having to go back and forth to hit space on my laptop, or play on a cd player, after all playing one person looks lame enough for a punk performance, interupting to press play on my laptop would look worse. I'd like to just be able to kick into my prerecorded back up tracks from my computer off to the side.
  24. Hi All, I got a problem with my X3 Live (MIDI settings) and Reaper. I use my POD for playing live along with backing tracks set in Reaper. I have created track for sending MIDI to POD and it works great BUT..... when I stop my DAW, my POD changes settings by itself (tap tempo is much faster, lower reverb mix). Is there any option to program MIDI to retain same settings while playing and while stopping? Please help. Thanks!
  25. Hi I am midi synching the new mybeatbuddy drum machine to the M9 "midi in" and the mybeatbuddy master tempo for example is 90 but the master tempo on the M9 is showing 89.6. The M9 is about .04 off on any tempo I chose. The good news is the M9 definitely is changing when I change the master tempo on mybeatbuddy which was my goal so my effexts would match the tempo. My M9 is new so I wondered if .04 was close enough? It is hard to notice being I am only synching effects like delay and modulation. I just thought it would read the exact same number as the other device if it was synched properly. Thoughts from those with more experience on whether or not this small error of margin is something I should worry about? I am running the latest firmware.
