  1. I recently entered a little group gigging in bars, every member enters into a mixer then out to speakers to the public, i would like to add my Headrush FrfR 108 to monitor my sound, what's the best connections to be made? Last night i tried Left Out to Headrush and Amp Out to the mixer but i'm not satisfied, the volume knob on the Pod Go worked only on Headrush and for some reason i was too low on the mixer with track on max! I know that i could connect Left out to Headrush and than through the Headrush to the mixer too (PodGO-->Headrush-->Mixer) it's a better option? Some other advices?
  2. Hi folks! Having changed from tube amp to the Helix as my main "amp" now, I have a very specific question on monitoring the Helix output. I might want to add, that my band's PA is a good, compact Dynacord PA with EV FOH speakers. Most event stages in my home city are quite small, so it is optimized to save space. For this reason we have only 3 wedges, one for the keys, one for the drums and guitar (this is me) and bass have to rely on the third one. The Helix is going by XLR stereo directly into the PA. Sometimes I unfortunately cannot hear myself well in the mix, so I ordered a Yamaha DBR12 to use it as a Helix signal monitor (Helix 1/4" mono out --> DI-box --> DBR12). I am afraid, that, getting the direct blast from the Helix then, I might not be able to hear my share of the FOH mix from the wedge, I have to share with the bassist (who usually is the man on the mixer, as well). So I thought of the DBR12's second signal path. I could feed it with the monitor mix and mixing down both signal paths (from the Helix and FOH) in a way that the Helix is just slightly louder than the guitar in the FOH mix. So I could - theoretically - be in the clean. But! There is an identlical signal in both signal paths, which is my guitar. Would that lead to problems that the guitar signal could be phasing out? If so, how could I avoid this problem? Getting an individual monitor mix without guitar in it, is, unfortunately, out of reach ... Equally difficult would be a modified signal for the 1/4" output with a delay of a few ms, because on a few presets I use all of the Helix' processor power or signal paths (especially on those, where I use acoustic guitar simulator and electric guitar sound at the same time). What are your experiences? Will the phasing problem occur? If so, how could I solve it?
  3. I have helix lt so it has only one volume knob. My issue was that all amps sounded very weak and i was unsatisfied with any of them. Suddenly i figured out that if i change headphones monitor setting from multi to 1/4 the sound became not only much louder but also fuller. Is this intended behavior? It was not very intuitive to figure out since i always had my volume knob turned up half way and i though that something is wrong either with my gear or the unit. But after changing this setting volume doubled. Thanks
  4. Hello Friends, I understand that we can use Our Helix Floor as an audio interface. I wanted to ask if its possible to be able to route the Helix's Audio Interface into a Monitor Controller (Ex: Mackie Big Knob, Palmer Monicon L)? This would allow me to go back and forth between two sets of monitors for referencing purposes when I use a Monitor Controller. If this is possible, how would the steps go for me to make this happen? (I'm currently learning how to Mix music and trying to save money by skipping on a dedicated Audio Interface and just use the Audio Interface the Helix can provide). I have a Helix Floor, an sm-58 and an FRFR Headrush 108. have a gig coming up playing some 80's power ballads, with a questionable sound person : we have 3 vocalists in the bare minimum power trio + singer band. I know that you can have parallel paths for guitar/microphone. My question is, from experience, what can I do to simplify the sound person's job, and make my on-stage experience better. For example: 1. Should I mix in my vocals into the signal that goes to the FOH 2. Not mix in my vocals, but run my mic through the chain and out the FRFR 3. In general, what should I provide as outputs: e.g.: left XLR is vocals and right XLR is guitar? Just wondering what works. In theory, I know my options, but in practice, that's another story.   6. I recently purchased the HD500X after owning the HD400 for a while and it got me thinking if it’s possible to use the HD500X as an IEM board? I play for a church and instead of personal mixers, we use on-stage monitors. I found that this is quite inconvenient at most points. My question is, is it possible to run a 1/4 through the aux-in or an XLR into the HD500X that has the audio from the other instruments and vocals, but not run the monitor mix back out through the PA? I know that the Helix could perform such task, but could the HD500X do the same? I feel like if it’s possible, but I’m unsure if it could be done. Thank you in advance!
  7. Hi, I was going to use my Pod HD500X through an active speaker for home use only. I have been looking at a JBL 305p mk II and was hoping that this would bring the unit to life, as I struggled to dial in a good tone and have just not used it for a while as a result. I have never been confident to use it live in case I couldn't get a usable sound during a short sound checks. I play heavier music, Metallica/Pantera, so I need a good clear high gain tone. So the questions I have are: - What is your experience of using the HD500X through an active monitor playing with high gain sounds at home? (I have read that this was not advised in the link below but had hoped this would be a gd space saving option https://www.axedr.com/pod-hd500x-complete-review) - Any tips to dialling in a good tone if you have had success? Also, to go off on a tangent, I have considered buying the pod go or helix stomp (with external footswitch/expression pedal) as a grab and go solution for gigs. Has anyone upgraded to pod HD500X to either? Thanks in advance for any replies.
  8. I want to share this idea with you guys. (I already shared this idea on FB's Hx stomp page, I hope this is ok with the forum) What if we could use the HX Stomp (and nothing else) as a two channel personal in ear monitor mixer? We are already able to use the Return as an AUX IN so that we can jam on backing tracks, hearing both guitar and our external source. In a similar way we could feed to the AUX IN the signal (mono or stereo) coming from a mixing board's monitor out with, let's say, drums, bass and vocals, and mix it with our guitar, so that we have exactly the in ear mix we need. There's only one major problem: what you hear in your headphones is the same as what gets out from the L/R OUTPUTS, even if you set the VOLUME control to act only on the headphones. By having the option of routing the AUX signal ONLY to the headphones this would be feasible, maybe adding an AUX IN volume control (in Global settings - Ins/Outs). Is it just me or this would be awesome?
  9. Hello, i’m using my Helix with 4cm in combination with a Mesa Lonestar Special. I want to use a monitor, just for me. I have connected the monitor to mono left xlr and in the settings i have set the volume button to xlr. This works kinda. I dont like the sound of my monitor this way. How do set it so that I can use a cab in between the helix and my monitor and not affect my amp. And stil use a separate volume for the monitor. Regards, Jan
  10. Hello, (my first post). I'm close to purchasing a Helix. I currently play Tom Anderson guitars (T, S, and LP) through a pedalboard into a Carr Skylark. I want to move to Helix only. (No guitar amp or pedalboard) I primarily play at church and at home. At church there are no wedges, everyone uses IEM. (So I don't need any wedge, backline, etc.) My main concern is how to monitor at home? I would like for it to sound good at home but my primary concern is being able to create tones at home that will sound as good as possible in the church FOH. We have a very professional sound system and full time audio guys. I've asked one of the Sweetwater reps and he has suggested the Line 6 L2M. I have read many forums and watched countless videos but I've not found my situation. It seems like most players are using some type of stage monitoring as well. (which I don't need) It doesn't seem like headphones are the way to go. So I'm primarily looking between studio monitors such as the Yamaha HS, or some form of PA speaker such as the L2M or the Yamaha DBR/DRX. I hate to ask the same similar question but I'm fairly confused. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
  11. I know by default when you plug in an external cabinet the speakers in the head switch off. Is there any supported method of allowing the built-in speakers to continue working even when connected to a cabinet? I'm sure I'm not the first idiot to think of this, but I'd like to use the head as a close monitor, with a cabinet pointed at FOH.

  14. Hi, week-long lurker, first-time poster. Just got the Helix and love it. Only played it through cheap-ish headphones and still blown away. I've sifted through this forum as well as ones on other sites and compiled a lot of helpful tips about my following question, but also enough confusion to warrant asking it here directly ... I am looking to buy a speaker/PA system that will cover the following personal needs: I am using the Helix to process guitar as well as some electronic drums, a synth sometimes, looping w/an external looper, possibly even my vocals. So--primarily I'm a one-man band (and having the ability to process all these things through the Helix, on top of replacing my pedal board, is why I got it; really, it's a revolutionary device, not that I need to waste time preaching to the choir, but truly, revolutionary is an accurate descriptor for it), and thus the speaker/PA setup should reflect this use, particularly w/the idea in mind that it'd be used as my amplification in small venues (coffee shops->small bars sizes). I also play guitar in a couple of bands and would like to be able to use the same speaker/PA as either a monitor if we play somewhere that has FOH or on its own if we play somewhere that doesn't. Again, small-size rooms; not expecting to play theaters any time soon. From all I've read, this doesn't seem like an unreasonable expectation from the various FRFR/PA options out there.. I'd like to ideally use the same setup at home so I don't have to be concerned w/creating different patches for different systems, and would like the patches I create to translate as well as possible to FOH (I've read a lot about all that and understand moving from one system of playback to another will always cause some differences in how the patch comes across, but just looking to have decent expectations that things won't shift too drastically). One concern I read about is that creating patches using low volumes on speakers won't translate when the volume is increased in a live situation (or it may have just been playing through them w/the volume low won't sound too good?), and thus a suggestion was to use studio monitors at home. I'm open to this idea, but again, ideally would like one setup that covers it all. My favorite comment from those I've compiled is the one that seems to directly address my needs--"I'd go for one L2M just to give me an all in one home jamming, jamming w/friends, and a gig solution"--so perhaps my question is really, does this answer to another user's question also successfully answer mine? I'll also mention I have a JamHub, if that's helpful to know/put to use at all. I wouldn't mind not using/needing it though; really hoping to keep things as streamlined as possible, and the JamHub usually stays in my office. Thanks a lot for any help you can offer-

Hey newbie here , I am looking for options - I want a powered monitor -FRFR to use as a speaker instead of a guitar amplifier and I want to use this as a stand alone unit but with enough grunt to be heard over my band - yes genre , hard hitting drummers,1 guitar band etc etc but everything aside , has anyone used or is using the behringer cheapie powered monitors as a stand alone speaker - ie plug ya guitar and pod into it and crank it for onstage live use? With a line out to the PA ? now can someone chime in on this , I get the impression the expensive LINE6 LT speakers etc that are being used as a must have if you intend n doing live gigs are nothing more than a powered monitor with built in mixer and perhaps a few cool features but in principle in plain simple speak - it's just a fancy powered monitor ? the reason I ask is obviously the lne6 speakers are expensive so I'm doing my home work and viable cheap alternatives for live work . So just to recap : Any ne using the behringer powered amps in their band as a standalone unit - and if so does it have enough volume to do what you want it to do - I'm wanting something for old stool 70s rock volumes , nothing sanely over the top volume wise but I do want that ability t be heard - so regardless of whether I go direct to PA desk or just the powered monitor as my " guitar amp" is this possible with out the over the top prices of the supposed purpose built lt series of inbuilt pa etc etc frat Im not wanting to run anything fancy other than plug my guitar into the pod into a powered speaker source instead of direct into PA For live gigs only , no stereo effects etc etc , genre is rock , no hi gain stuff Cheers
  16. Hi all! This is Andre, I speak from Brazil and I need some guidance on how to get the best out of my recordings with Pocket Pod. Hope this catch your attention. I currently use Pocket Pod’s AMP OUT plugged into a guitar link USB interface, which goes straight to my laptop. I set it to DIRECT MODE. To listen to what I’m playing while recording, I use POD DIRECT OUT into my peavey 15w amplifier. It’s working as a monitor. And to listen to what was recorded, I use an Edifier speaker, plugged in my laptop. Obviously, neither the amp nor the speaker are good references to the REAL sound. What I need is make sure that when I tweak the knobs on my pocket pod, I’ll listen to the real changes through my monitor, and listen to the same tone through my speaker after recording. Do I need a pair of proper monitors? I hope you can tell me what I need to do. Thanks in advance Andre
  17. hey... i just expirienced one more problem with my m20d. it seems that monitor "a" dies after 20 minutes of playing. the cables have been checked and the active monitors run very fine on all other monitor outputs of the m20d. suddenly, without any reason, the signal is back on but much too loud and the feedback destroys the running song. this is not cool!! after updating the system to the actual firmware the "screenfreezings" seem to be away but now i got that monitor problem instead. anybody else experienced that problem? since the device is more than 1,5 years old i guess i will have no chance to get it repaired within the guarantee-period. and i'm not willing to pay hundrets of bucks for crappy software-workings. sorry.
  18. Seriously considering to buy HD500X. I want to minimize my gear and think HD500X is good solution. I can not find information on the following issues: Can I use HD500X to mixed signals from the PA in in-ear headphones and so to use it as personal monitor system. If "YES" which input to use for the signal from the PA (CD/MP3, AUXIN?). Can I control the signal strength from my guitar and mix PA. Do I need additional settings to prevent the signal from the PA to be back in the mix from the processor output, ie to be heard only in the headphones. If "NO"... :( Thanks in advance for your replies :-)
  19. So I've spent quite a bit of time deciding which active monitor to buy to use at home for dialing in patches. I've been using an old Crate PA system with a left channel that no longer works. It's a big, heavy, and bulky 3 piece system that stays in my basement, but it worked for the purpose of helping create patches for when I play live. Since all of the rest of my guitar gear is upstairs (2 levels up from the basement), I've been using a decent pair of PC speakers plugged into the headphone jack on my POD. It works for practicing, although the POD clips the speakers on a number of patches, even with the volume fairly low on the speakers. I'd been planning on getting an active monitor and looked at Behringer, Kustom, and a few others. I finally settled on the Alto TS110a and it arrived today. It's bigger than I expected and is currently sitting atop my Peavey Vypyr VIP II amp. I've only had about 15 or 20 minutes to play through the speaker, but I am very happy with what I'm hearing so far. It sounds better than my Crate PA system and speakers, and is much closer to the sound I get when plugged into the deck playing live, and of course it's a huge upgrade over the PC speakers I've been using for practicing. So the big benefits for me are 1) not having to take my guitar and POD to the basement when I want to build a new patch and 2) having my practice time sound much better. The speaker also has 2 separate inputs, each with it's own volume control for mixing, and each input doubles as either XLR or 1/4". The speaker lists for $349, but the street price is $249, and so far I couldn't be happier with the purchase. I'd almost decided to go with a Behringer Eurolive until I stumbled upon an older post somewhere recommending the Alto speakers. After researching, it sounded like what I wanted, and now that I have it, I'm glad it's what I went with. At some point, unless I discover something I don't like (which doesn't seem likely at this point), I'll probably end up buying a second one to run them in stereo. I see lots of posts here and on other forums asking about affordable active monitors, so I thought I'd share. If you're looking for something like this, you might want to check one of these out to see if it's something that would fit your needs.

My M20D was working fine........we went on a tour, did not take the M20D with us, left it at home, and when we came back and powered it on, the monitor out (all 4) and the main left right, had nothing coming out of them. No settings were changed. The only signal coming out is from the Headphone jack. We are a 4 piece Rock and Roll Band and had our practice pad settings dialed into the M20D.....its strange, coz before we left town, everything was fine and working well. No one touched the unit in our absence (the house was locked). Any Help will be great. I live in Dubai and there are no service centres in my town for the M20D.......or atleast none showing on Line 6 site.
  21. I would like to use StageScape Mixer for recording and mixing of band rehearsal. I have pair of studio speakers and pair of power speakers. I would like to have both playing stereo main output and I need to be able to mute one pair of speaker. For mixing I want to use studio monitors, for recording I want to use power monitors without studio monitors. In some cases I want both playing same stereo mix. I use auxs for power monitors, but this is not in stereo and I cannot control volume of both power speakers at once as main input. It would help if I can send main signal to pair of auxs and control it. Is it possible? Thanks Honza
  22. I am currently attempting to properly connect my Edirol MA10D Powered Speaker Monitors to my Line 6 UX2 toneport. For now I have it hooked up from the headphone jack of the UX2 device (1/8 inch cable with 1/4 adapter), to the line inputs behind the speaker monitor (other end of cable splits into left and right RCA jacks seen in photo: http://www.sweetwater.com/images/closeup/750-ma10d_img_rear.jpg). The problem is I am concerned this is not the optimal way to connect my speakers. I am also concerned this will cause latency when recording and with playback. I tried plugging the cable into one of the "Analog outputs" found on the back of the UX2, but the sound quality isn't nearly as good and the volume is not as loud. What is the correct way to connect my make/model speakers to the Line6 US2 toneport? Maybe go from left and right RCA line inputs to both Analog outputs??? Thank you.
  23. Hello, I have a POD Xt Live and a couple of studio monitors (KRK Rokit 6). I plug them using L/MONO and RIGHT output of the pod. The problem I'm having is that sound only comes from the right monitor. If I unplug the right monitor, then sounds starts to come from the left monitor. It's like when the right monitor is plugged, no signal goes to the left monitor.. Any idea of what may be the problem? I haven't used these monitors for some time, but I recall they used to work fine... Thanks, Damian

  25. Hey everyone, Im trying to use my old Pod xt live as an audio interface to record on Ableton Live 8. Ive got everything set up to where I get a signal on Ableton, but Im getting two output signals from my Pod to my monitors. One signal goes from the pod output straight to the monitors and the other one goes to Ableton through the usb cable and then back through the pod to the monitors. (So that if my Pod tone is clean and I have a distortion effect enabled on Ableton I hear both the clean and distorted tones at the same time) The only output cable I have is a 1/4" from the l/mono output on the pod to the monitors inputs and my Pod is connected to my pc via the usb cable. Is there any way to have only the signal from Ableton play through the monitors? I want to use effects from the pod as well as effects on ableton.
