  1. The problem is pretty self explanatory, and will need an alternate download given the idiotic update model Line 6 picked for the Monkey.
  2. Hello guys! I purchased a HD500X 2months ago. It was sooooooo freakin' awesome!!!!!! But, when I was about to update the firmware... Line 6 Monkey 1.72 does not have HD500X on its list. So I am not able to connect my POD to Monkey... and so I'm unable to perform updates... I've tried the HD500Xedit and it was working well. I'm able to copy paste save patches and set lists. The USB cable is good, the HD500X driver is installed and working properly. Too bad I couldn't update to the latest firmware because Line 6 Monkey is not recognizing HD500X. I've tried re-installing Monkey 1.72 then the other previous versions 1.71 -----> 1.63 but all of them does the same thing. They don't recognize HD500X. Its still not listed in the drop down list. What else can be done to sort this out? Has anyone tried to connect their HD500X thru MIDI? Will it work despite the not listed problem in Monkey? Hope to hear from you guys soon! thanks! :)
  3. I have a ux8 that I bought probably about 4-5 years ago that I used mainly for recording drums. I have not used it though in about 1 1/2 - 2 years and it seems like there is a problem with the power. When I first plugged in the power cable and usb and hit the power button nothing lit up. After I hit the power button a couple of times it finally lit up but my computer would not recognize anything on the usb port. First I tried with an old p.c. someone had given me that still has windows xp on it and I had too many problems, not only with the power but also with the usb port recognizing it and with monkey not downloading and installing the drivers properly. So then I decided to instead try my mac and install everything and tried it on there but the drivers still will not download properly or at least monkey keeps saying that I need to DL new drivers or there is a little yellow triangle with a !. But the power is really what seems to be more of the problem. Most of the time it does not turn on or at least the 2 gauges do not light up and the 2 different times they did light up when I hit the power button the 2 lights did not turn off??? Did not matter how many times I hit the power button they would either not turn on at all or the 2 different times they did turn on when hitting the power button, would not turn off. I'm stumped.
  4. Hello, I'm trying to connect the old POD Pro to my PC via midi to USB cable. I can't find the specific drivers on Line 6 monkey and it won't detect it automatically. I tried the drivers for the POD 2.0, which seemed to having me getting somewhere. It said 'Turn off your pod, then hold the midi button and power on again', which I did. Then I got this message "Update failed (Code 8000900C) MIDI device timed out for a response make sure cables are connected and try the update again". My POD HDX works fine but I'm having no luck with this one. Any advice would be top banana, Cheers
  5. Hey there! I have a Line 6 POD HD 500. I've been trying to connect it to my PC to record and edit and all those things. The problem's that the PC does not recognize the POD. I've already downloaded hundreds of support files and installed them and there's no response. So, as I went to the POD to the "System and I/O" screen, is shown that the "USB Firmware version is 0.00!" Is there anything I might do to solve this? I've tried with monkey and donwnloaded drivers but the POD is just not recognized. Thanks!
  6. Bought my HD500 in 2012 when the laptop I had was running Windows XP - had no issues. Now that laptop has died and I've tried connecting to 4 different laptops running Windows 7 or 8 and having no success. My own laptop, when I open Monkey, only gives PodXt as an option in the "Please select the Line 6 device you want to configure" drop-down menu. Moving on to my daughter's laptop - I can select HD500 but the software states that I need to download the latest drivers. I do this and nothing changes. I've tried downloading the drivers before I open (or even download) Monkey and still there is no recognition that this has been done. And without the drivers I cannot connect my unit. I've trawled the forums, uninstalled and re-installed, still no joy. Any suggestions would be welcomed
  7. Dear, POD XT Live have a (ok, I know it's kind of old). First, the monkey can not connect to the server, even I uninstalling my antivirus, and allowing popups. I installed the drives and the editor manually, but the publisher can not connect. Also I downloaded the flahs memory manually, but has .XTF extension and can not open. Please help me!

  10. I have tried this over and over. Ok so I just got a brand new POD 2.0 and the online guide and such said it would come with software and a cable to connect to my computer and it didn't but that's not the real issue (just a frustration). I bought a MIDI cable and connected it properly (MIDI Out cable to MIDI In on the device and MIDI In cable to MIDI Out on the device) and also vice versa just to see if it would work. I am trying to connect to Monkey to be able to check for updates and also to locate the device on my computer so I can eventually use Line 6 Edit. So I boot up the program (picture 1) and check the top list for POD 2.0 and it is not there (picture 2). I then click the second option and selected POD 2.0 from the drop down box (picture 3). I also tested all 3 options that are in the MIDI Out drop box (picture 4) and every single one gave me the message in Picture 5. I went ahead and clicked OK (I have tried proceeding with all 3 options) and moved on to picture 6. I click on update selection and went through all the stuff it tells me to do including turning off POD 2.0 pressing and holding the MIDI button then turning it back on. The POD 2.0 display showed "F" and a flashing dot next to it. It then shows the error from picture 7. I have no idea what to do there are literally no instructions that came with the device and I don't know what else to do. Please help.
  11. Hi, I tried to reset my POD HD 500X to it's default factory setting by reinstalling flash memory using Line 6 Monkey (as recommended in the guide). But to no effect, all my input/footswitch settings stays exactly the same as previously. Beside reseting preset banks it seems like it had no effect on the settings of POD at all. I specifically would like to reset Global EQ settings but also few others. I'm using latest drivers for USB etc http://i.imgur.com/tJWODXE.png
  12. Hi guys, I've recently bought a Pod HD500X and have installed some software to go with it (license manager, monkey, HD500X Edit, PodFarm 2), but I can't seem to license PodFarm 2. I've uninstalled and reinstalled it, and unauthorized and reauthorized my computer, but I can't get it licensed. The application opens but prompts me to buy a license for the unauthorized software (which I already have from buying my Pod). Not sure if there's something simple I've completely missed or if it's a bit more of a tedious fix, but any help would be greatly appreciated! Just want to get recording :) Thanks in advance, James
  13. I recently launched the monkey and it prompted me to install the new version 1.65 It hangs when searching for devices. Line 6 edit works fine with my POD XT Live.
  14. Hey guys....i have a problem with my sound and i couldn't login at line 6 monkey...so decided to remove all files..so i downloaded pod farm version 2 and the same thing...it tells me problem 800038c unknown server error occurred...and i't tells me to remove antivirus and all these thing...i do it again and nothing....
  15. I have recently upgraded Monkey to 1.70. This is the first time since i upgraded to Yosemite. I cannot get monkey to launch. I have tried reinstalling, deleting plist files, deleting drivers and still no love. It happens onboth my Imac and Macbook Pro. I want to update all of my line 6 gear (JTV59, Pod HD500, FBV Shortboard, Spider IV Valve 2x12) but cant do anything due to the monkey software not working. Eventually it stops bouncing but i get an application not responding msg when i right click the icon. (see screenshot). Has anyone had this happen to them and has anyone been able to fix it. I have a current ticket open with L6 also.
  16. I have purchased a new computer solely for the purpose of recording. The line 6 gear box, pod farm, monkey and license manager are the first things I have installed. Every time I try to connect log in with the monkey or the license manager I keep getting error code 8000200b telling me I do not have a connection to the internet, though I clearly have a connection seeing as I am writing this post. If I do recall the line 6 monkey and license were extremely problematic on both of the other computers I previously had used the software with. It is a shame since the tones and gear sound so good. I am a loyal line 6 guy. I've even purchased all of the expansion packs.
  17. Hey all, first poster here, I'm part of the Strat- Talk community but now I need your help!!! A friend of mine bought her son a POD XT some years back along with a Classic Vibe Strat having seen some reviews on Strat-Talk and various websites about. She'd seen a lot of praise on both and went for it, he was 13 at the time but left everything to rot for a few years. She gave me the POD XT a week ago, great product. I've been using it through my fender amp but I now want to use it as an interface but after downloading Line 6 Monkey and getting the drivers through Monkey it still shows up as Not Connected and No drivers installed. I'm going through Mac OS 10.6.8 No matter what I do I cant get the thing to show up in monkey or my laptop. What should I do, I have no problem resetting the software on my POD. Any insight is much appreciated. FYI she lost the original box and installation discs. Thanks guys Strat-O-Holic
  18. Hello. I've been trying to fix my real bad tone issue for months now. I had a good tone and everything right up untill i had a rehearsal with a new guitar player in my band. When i brought my POD there everything went downhill, it sounded like **** and i have no idea what could've caused it. I figured it might've been the amp but i came back home and i had fuzzy sounds all of a sudden. I really hope it's not broken or damaged by any way and so turned to options such as updating my firmware and such.. and ofcourse, nothing. I attempted to do something about it today aswell (i am really depressed with what i am stuck with right now) and saw that my flash memory is not installed (shows - ). HOWEVER to make things more worse I can't update it. It shows a question mark and wont allow me to install it. After a while i somehow got it fixed, but the tone is still horrible and can't get ANYTHING decent out of it, even from downloading custom tones. So here is what i've done : resest to factory settings, reinstalled firmware and flash memory, download other tunes.. and im losing options. Some things i know what i can try to do is reinstall podhd300 driver completly, but other than that I am posting this so i can get other suggestions aswell, as im really frustrated with this issue. Many thanks ahead
  19. Hi everyone, I need your urgent help before I run crazy. I own two MACs (Book Pro and iMac). I used to link before my PODxt live to it without problems, but now I've updated the Monkey program and it does´t want to recognise my PODxt live. I've updated more than 10 times the drivers but the list simply doesn't include an XT live model. The strangest thing is that the Line 6 Edit and Gearbox can automatically identify the pedal board, but the Monkey don't. I've read through previous posts like unblocking the firewall, uninstalling and jumping to previous versions and whatsoever but I simply cannot get this crazy monkey to show me up a PDxt live on that list or recognise it. I really would appreciate anyones (or Line s's) support. A thankful customer will be waiting desperately. JP
  20. Help please!! I updated the firmware on my Pod HD Pro and updated the HD Pro Editor software today (27/11/13). After doing so, Monkey now won't recognise the installed drivers. I know they are installed as they're there in Preferences. Also, Monkey won't recognise any USB attached hardware (Pod HD Pro, Guitarport & UX8) which it did before. Monkey will not also connect to Line 6 to check for updates despite there being a solid net connection. Is this something to do with the firmware & HD Pro Edit updates, seems too much of a coincidence if it isn't as all was well before this. I have tried uninstalling both Monkey & the drivers and reinstalling directly from Line 6 website all to no avail. Anyone else experiencing this? Any help would be greatly appreciated especially as I am taking delivery of a JTV guitar tomorrow and want the whole lot to be up and running in perfect harmony. Typical, couldn't have gone down at a worse time! Thanks, Chris
  21. I purchased my new Pod HD Pro X back on 10/30/13 and registered it with my Line 6 acct that same day (NOT via Monkey). But now every time I fire up Monkey to see what's new - the thing tells me my Pod is not registered. With all previous attempts - I did not follow thru with a re-register. Today - I get the same message and today - I thought - I WILL re-register - just to get this annoying message to stop. So I attempt to re-register and of course I get a huge error in my acct panel - telling me the Pod is already registered. Sigh. What exactly is the right way to ensure that Monkey knows my rig is mine and is properly registered to my acct? VP
  22. There has got to be a better way to plug in my HD500 and JTV 89 and edit. Yesterday I was in the studio and had some clicking issues when changing patches and I also wanted to write a DADGAD patch for my JTV. So when I got home... I started Monkey and had to update several things. I forget exactly what I needed to update, but it took a while. Then I needed to open Workbench. So I opened the program and realized that it doesn't work with JTV, (but I need to keep it because I still have a Variax 500.) So I opened Workbench HD. I can't find the JTV Interface and cords. I search for about fifteen minutes and it is where I looked the first time! Oh yeah, I have to have a 1/4 cord plugged in to the guitar jack. Oh no, my battery is dead. I have to charge it overnight... Today, battery charged and ready to go. Everything is plugged in. I open Workbench. It seems to be working so I do some edits and I get a message saying it can't send the preset to the guitar... I go to Line 6 Support and do a search for the exact words of the error message and nothing comes up. I do another search and I'm searching within my current results, so I back out and try it again in the forum, in the knowledge base... Nothing. Am I the only one having this problem? So I try the "Error Code." No luck. I put my problem in my own words and finally get a result that seems to apply that isn't in Japanese or German. The guys ultimate solution was sending his guitar back and getting a new one!? Somewhere in the responses someone mentions a JTV firmware update. I go back to Monkey to see if I have the most current firmware for the guitar. Now the interface is only showing one green light and one red light. I unplug. I plug. I remove the battery. I put the battery back. Somehow I get Monkey to find the guitar. But in the process I realize that I'm now installing the midi interface, which I don't need, and it is telling me I'll need to reboot the computer to complete the installation. Rebooted and read to check Monkey! I have 2.0, I need 2.1. Now Monkey isn't recognizing my guitar again. I unplug. I plug. I remove the battery. I put the battery back. Two green lights! I update the guitar! I go to Workbench HD and it works! ...Almost 24 hours later. "Elegant and user friendly, this is not," said Yoda. I don't even remember why I wanted the DADGAD patch and I'm too frustrated to play even if I could remember. Then end result is fine. I'm a big Line 6 fan. Nice guitar, great versatility, but there has to be a better way to integrate all these updates. I'll bet you Line 6 guys know I'm right and you probably wish it was better as well. I'll bet you'd have a lot more customers. $$$
  23. I have a new hd500x and want to add new patches to it. I have spent the last 2 hours watching videos and reading through support things to try and fix my problem. I may be missing something basic here, but how do you get the "Backup and Restore" tab to show in Monkey? All I have is the update tab. Everything is updated with green check marks, but no matter what i do i can't see to get the "Backup and Restore" option to show...
