  1. We are pleased to announce the release of Line 6 Central, our new device management platform. The modern user interface in Line 6 Central brings a simple and clear experience for keeping all your compatible Line 6 gear updated with the latest firmware. The refined workflow in Line 6 Central walks you through the steps required to update your device. This new platform is built on the latest architectures, bringing improved security and seamless operating system integration. Using Line 6 Central is fairly similar to using our previous updater apps Line 6 Updater and Line 6 Monkey. We encourage Line 6 Updater and Line 6 Monkey users to try Line 6 Central for keeping their compatible devices up to date. Otherwise, please continue using the latest version of the applicable software to update your hardware. Please know that Line 6 Central does not replace any of our editor/librarian apps. We still strongly suggest using these apps to back up your presets and settings before updating your firmware. If Line 6 Central gains backup capabilities at any point, we will provide information regarding when and how to transition between apps. The current version of Line 6 Central is compatible with the following device families: Helix (Helix, Helix Rack, Helix LT) HX (HX Effects, HX Stomp, HX Stomp XL, HX One) POD Go (POD Go, POD Go Wireless) Catalyst (60/100/200) DL4 Mk II Spider V (20/30/60/120/120HC/30 MkII/60 MkII/120 MkII/120HC MkII) FBV 3 Relay G70/G75 Relay G10 (G10/G10S/G10T/G10TII) AMPLIFi (30/75/150/FX/TT) Firehawk (FX/1500) POD HD500 (HD500/Pro/Bean/500X/Pro X) James Tyler Variax (59/69/89), Variax Standard, Shuriken (Cannot use Helix as interface) POD Studio (UX1/UX2/GX) Toneport (UX1/UX2/GX/DI) Variax (300/600/500/700/VDI) Support for Powercab will be coming soon. "Please Relaunch" Error Message The Line 6 Central app cannot be run as administrator on any Windows system. If you experience this error message, we suggest you go to the root .exe file (C:/Program Files (x86)/Line 6/Line 6 Central), right click it, select “Properties”, and uncheck “Run this program as an admin” located in the Compatibility tab. We encourage you to contact our Support Staff if you run into any other issues with Line 6 Central.
  2. Hi there guys and girls !! I recently obtained a Bass PODxt which was to be a present for my wife. As you can guess, the unit is second hand. There was no power adapter with it so that I bought too (9VAC, 2000mA). Upon connecting the unit and switching it on, At first I thought it was a kind-of start screen. The Line6 Monkey shows in the display. This stays on for about 3 seconds, then the LCD turns off for approx 1 second and the monkey comes up again. This cycles through indefinately. Turning the knobs on the outer edge of the PODs facia provides the screen with the knob positions showing. This occurs in an intermitting fashion, just like the showing of the Line6 Monkey. As long as you keep rotating knobs, after turning off, it switches back to the knob-position screen. Keeping it steady, the screen goes back to the Line6 Monkey on-and-off. Same happens using the encoder knobs (SELECT and EFFECT TWEAK). The display shows either a SETTING modification screen or the EFFECT TWEAK modification screen... again, after some 3 seconds the screen shortly switches back to "off". If you keep rotating the button, the screen switches back again to the SELECT or EFFECT TWEAK screen (depending on which knob you rotate). Being guided by the icon of the monkey, my first impression was: Problem with the firmware update. For a factory reset, on the internet, I found and tried the option of pressing SAVE and EDIT whilst powering on the POD. With this action came the Factory Recall screen. The screen did not switch again and invited me to execute the recall. I pressed the TUNE button. This lead to..... nothing. The POD returns into the same mode of showing the Line6 monkey on and off. All of this can be seen in the attached movie Still, as the Line6 Monkey is showing on-and-off whilst all buttons are untouched, to me it indicates some mode (probably an error indication mode) which has specifically been provided and demands action. As the monkey showed, I thought Line6 wants to put me on the trail of the Monkey software to use this to solve this. I have installed Monkey 1.77 and, as an update whilst running Monkey 1.77 i presse the button to update to driverset 4.2.7.7. Following the instructions on the screen (NOT connecting the POD whilst installing the driver and CONNECTING it when requested, I connected the POD through a USB cable directly to a USB 3 port directly in my computer. Starting Line6 Monkey 1.77 as administrator, with the POD USB connected, Monkey asks for the connection of the POD through MIDI. There is no other option so I uninstalled, downloaded Driver 4.2.7.7. directly from the Line6 download page and reinstalled Monkey again. I ran the monkey 1.77 installer as administrator. After that I ran the 4.2.7.7 driver installer. Then I restarted Monkey with the POD attached through USB and swiched on (in Monkey-off-on-mode). During the startup, Monkey asks a connection option of the POD. showing only MIDI as the option. No other option available, I click OK and enter the main screen of Monkey. The POD shows to be not connected. And, though the driver update of 4.2.7.7 which I just ran, is not recognized. (see pic06) Monkey however does require this to be done prior to possible firmware updating of the POD. This too becomes a closed loop, installing 4.2.7.7., restarting Monkey and ending up with the message that drivers need to be updated to 4.2.7.7. To break this loop, I switched to another option I read. Switch off the PODxt, and whilst holding the first of the fout buttons under the display pressed, power it up. This leads to the SAFE MODE. Switching off the POD, closing Monkey on the computer, disconnecting the POD from the USB cable, I powerd up in SAFE MODE. see pic 07 on that. Now I restarted the computer to be sure the drivers would be loaded (if the software refered to it correctly, which I have to assume is the case). This however ended in the "Windows Blue Screen of Death". After that I booted the computer again and connected the POD with the USB cable. After that I started Monkey again as administator. Now finally Monkey starts with the POD recognized as being connected (see pic08). Driver 4.2.7.7. seems installed and up to date. USB drivers are showing up to date as is Monkey itself. only the Firmware is not recognized, shows as "unknown" and the latest version, 1.04 is ready for updating the POD. All lights show green to flash the firmware. So I give it a go. After question about loosing presets (what do I care at this point) and the license agreement, which I gladly accept to the fullest, the flashing finally seems to start. The screen provides a progression bar (pic 09) and the POD shows "UPDATING SOFTWARE,,," (pic 10). Patience is a virtue so we wait the unfolding of this. Monkey comes back with the message to close all applications using the POD (have none running, so I am safe) and subsequently turn off and back on the POD. The POD itself shows more or less the same message (see pic 12). Let's follow the instruction, turn off the POD and tu....... Windows Blue Screen of Death........ rn it back on..... result: We're back to square one. The Line6 Monkey is coming up in the screen and all acts the same. I repeated the complete sequence of this with the program running in Windows 8 compatibility mode (Windows 10 is not available as compatibility mode in this), but at that moment, driver 4.2.7.7. is never recognized as being installed. Back in Windows 11 mode, I finally tried to manually download the firmware file from the site of Line6 as Monkey provides the option to install the firmware file from the local hard drive. This resulted in the same actions of Monkey showing the progression bar, the POD showing that it is being updated. At the end of that road, there is no different outcome... Removing the USB jack prior to switching the POD off gives no different outcome. What I have also initiated more than once was the self-check functions by powering the POD up whilst holding the 4th button under the display. There I must say, are two fails which can be seen: these are for MIDI and FBX. The other functions, SDRAM and SRAM both pass. Some code, 0487A8E3 shows up. Pic 13 provides an image of that. The LCD check, passing a column of pixels from left to right and passing a bar from top to bottom, passes too. I dont know whether the MIDI and FBX fail could be because they're not connected. I am not sure of that. Long story, my appologies... but..... I am now at a loss... wanting to have this present for my lovely wife........ CAN ANYONE HELP ME GETTING THE POD BACK ON ITS OPERATING FEET???
  3. I think that title says it all, but I have some specific ideas on how and why it might currently benefit Line6 to do this. My brother works in a similar hardware/software environment and said it would be super easy. Users just have to be willing to make it worth their while. Please, for your first post, vote “YES” or “NO.” Then, post again, so it will be easy to tally the vote.
  4. primera vez conectando el Ux1 en la pc.. el monkey no me reconoce el usb, por lo tanto no puedo instalar los drivers.
  5. After much consideration, Yamaha Guitar Group has decided that Line 6 Monkey is to no longer be developed to support newer OS releases, such as Windows 11, macOS Catalina and macOS Monterey. We understand that this decision negatively impacts some customers. However, there are workarounds that align with Monkey's two main features: application/driver retrieval and installation, and firmware installation. All software and drivers that Line 6 Monkey "fetched" can be manually downloaded from www.Line6.com/software at no cost. For firmware installations, Monkey would have to be used on a computer running an older supported OS, or on a computer running multiple OS installations that include an older supported OS. This article supplies details on running discontinued software: .
  6. Hey, I've just dug my old PODxt out of a closet and am having a blast getting to know it again! Looking at the manuals, I see there have been a lot of flash memory updates, and that my model isn't capable of being updated via USB. So two questions: 1. I see reference to a USB/MIDI cable that I can use to update old PODxt flash memory via Line6 Monkey. Is this a very specific cable? Or will any MIDI interface work, in theory? 2. Is flash v3 so great that its worth going through the trouble? Or, if I'm jammin on version 1, should I leave well enough alone?
  7. I'm trying to connect my new JTV-69 variax and while the computer sees the Variax USB adapter, and the USB adapter indicates (via the two green lights) that it sees the Variax, the computer doesn't see the Variax. I've tried multiple computers and versions of the software. As far as the computer is concerned, there's no Variax there. Up front: I am using the small black Variax USB adapter and included VDI cable The battery is fully charged (though by the end of troubleshooting it only had 3 dots) I have a TRS cable plugged in I have the volume turned up The lights are on on the Variax I have two lights on the Variax USB adapter I have tried both the included VDI cable and 2 separate Cat5/Cat6 cables I have checked with Line6 Monkey on a separate computer using all of the combinations of troubleshooting I have checked with the OLD Workbench on a separate computer I have repeatedly connected / restarted / removed battery; replaced battery I have wiggled and jiggled and swabbed and double-checked all the connectors. Everything is in-place. The Variax doesn't show up, not even in Monkey. I'm really not looking forward to returning this guitar, but the inability to use it with Workbench is a deal-breaker.

Is there any news regarding software updates compatible with Catalina OS for Mac? Thanks
  9. Hey! Seems like it doesn't exist on the website, and also doesn't give me the option to download it in Line6 Monkey (the pedal is hooked up properly and is being detected by my computer/monkey). Any suggestions? Lena
  10. Hello everybody, Another thread about these problems. I know there already are a lot, but none of them helped me. I bought a used HD500 with an dead USB port (i changed it, i work in electronics) and the famous boot loop problem on Line6 welcome screen. I would like to reinstall the device's firmware. First, Monkey (last version) won't install the drivers (the wizard does the work, the files are where they are supposed to be, but when i reopen Monkey, it still displays that driver aren't updated, even when i do it manually). Is it linked with the fact that the device was never recognized by my computer? (Win 10, Lenovo laptop, USB 3.0 may be another source of problem?). It never appeared in Windows Device Manager. Edit : i disabled USB 3.0 in my bios, so they work as USB 2.0 ports, no result. (but may work for other issues) I've tried to reset with left arrow, nothing, reset with down arrow effectively opens update mode, but still nothing, reset with right arrow, nothing. USB cable is OK. Do you know a way to check if device's USB chip is OK ? Thank you in advance.
  11. Base info: System: macOS Mojave 10.14.2 Hardware: MacBook Pro 2016, Line 6 Pod X3 Pro Line 6 driver version: 7.6.8 Line 6 Monkey version: 1.78 Line 6 License Manager version: 1.13 Line 6 Monkey does not recognize installed driver and connected device, same as License Manager. However Pod is avaiable in System Preferences as Audio-MIDI Device and works perfectly with Pod Farm 2.59. Because of problem with License Manager i cant use full version of Pod Farm. On Windows laptop everything works like a charm (via usb 2.0 and usb-c connectivity). Any ideas what is wrong with License Manager on macOS Mojave?
  12. Hello everyone! My Line 6 Monkey doesn't recognize my pod hd 300 anymore. I've updated it at the last version but it keeps telling me that drivers are not installed. Instead I've installed them successfully more than once but Monkey still doesn't report them as installed, as a result my pod is not recognized. I've already tried disabling the SmartScreen filter for the download but the result is the same. it's not a matter of downloading or istallation because they go both fine. Does anybody could have had the same troubles or could know how to do to make it works? I am desperate :( ... Here a screenshot about it, it doesn't report drivers as installed even if I did it successfully
  13. Can't log into my monkey account as there is an error with the server? error screenshot attached. internet is fine and firewall is off.

  16. Hi I bought a Line 6 Variax Standard about a year ago, I have got a 2011 Macbook Pro running OSX 10.7.5 and yet I cannot get the guitar to talk with either Monkey or Workbench. Each time it gets to the update section in Monkey it freezes then crashes. Any ideas? One side of the USB interface is green, but the side where the guitar plugs in has a red light. 17. I know it's happened in the past... and it seems to have happened again. My line 6 Monkey cannot connect to Line 6 Servers. I tried the three older methods of "fixing" the problem by uninstalling/reinstalling (including a registry clean). I also tried to deleting content of the app data folder (windows 7), as well downgrading to various older versions of Monkey. No joy. I'd really like to flash my new HD500x with the latest firmware... any help?
  18. Getting back into my JTV-89 after not using it since I got my Helix. I know it must need to be updated with new firmware, I registered it with Line 6 in 2014, but it is failing to connect to my Windows 10 PC (which works great for Helix) via USB. So it sounds great thru the Helix via DVI, but I cannot get Line 6 Monkey to see it, I do have the latest 1.74 Monkey. Going into the Line 6 DVI/USB box directly into my PC Line 6 Monkey can't see the guitar but it does work with the latest WorkbenchHD, which sees the guitar just fine.. I do get both green lights on the box, but still can't connect to update firmware. I don't see any drivers to download. Any ideas?
  19. I need some help with Line 6 XD-V75 Firmware Updates Seems like youtube info is out of date with current Line6 support pages. I think I need to use Monkey - but can't find good instructions on it. I've downloaded Monday versions 1.72 and 1.74 - USB pick list stops at Variax... I don't see XD-V70 or V75 on list. I have several XD-V7x systems (75s and 70s, handhelds and body packs, and want to update to most current firmware. Hoping someone here can help point me to links and/or YouTube that can help. Do I need special USB Cable or interface box to do this? Thanks in advance! Mike
  20. Hey everyone, I just got a awesome Spider MK 2 HD100, and iam really happy with it, but it has come with the older floorboard with no connection to pc so I have bought a midi to USB cable to connect from the head into my pc but everytime I begin the firmware update i get a few popup windows open saying everything is ok click "yes" to proceed and then tick the user agreement and then i get a error window with the code 8000000, any clues please? Windows 10 btw. Cheers. Shaun.
  21. I recently downloaded Line 6 Monkey off of the website and have went to install it however when I got to the page allowing me to check for updates it says it cannot connect to the internet even though I have and there are other tabs open on my laptop that are working just fine with the internet connection, I've tried disconnecting and reconnecting but it still says there's a problem and I have no active anti-virus' or anything that may obstruct it so i'm really stuck on what to do here?? :(
  22. Hi, I tried to connect with Line 6 Monkey Version 1.72 to my pocket POD. But here is no pocket POD in the dropdown box of the devices... Must I use another, compatible device? Thx!
  23. Hello guys! I purchased a HD500X 2months ago. It was sooooooo freakin' awesome!!!!!! But, when I was about to update the firmware... Line 6 Monkey 1.72 does not have HD500X on its list. So I am not able to connect my POD to Monkey... and so I'm unable to perform updates... I've tried the HD500Xedit and it was working well. I'm able to copy paste save patches and set lists. The USB cable is good, the HD500X driver is installed and working properly. Too bad I couldn't update to the latest firmware because Line 6 Monkey is not recognizing HD500X. I've tried re-installing Monkey 1.72 then the other previous versions 1.71 -----> 1.63 but all of them does the same thing. They don't recognize HD500X. Its still not listed in the drop down list. What else can be done to sort this out? Has anyone tried to connect their HD500X thru MIDI? Will it work despite the not listed problem in Monkey? Hope to hear from you guys soon! thanks! :)
  24. I have a ux8 that I bought probably about 4-5 years ago that I used mainly for recording drums. I have not used it though in about 1 1/2 - 2 years and it seems like there is a problem with the power. When I first plugged in the power cable and usb and hit the power button nothing lit up. After I hit the power button a couple of times it finally lit up but my computer would not recognize anything on the usb port. First I tried with an old p.c. someone had given me that still has windows xp on it and I had too many problems, not only with the power but also with the usb port recognizing it and with monkey not downloading and installing the drivers properly. So then I decided to instead try my mac and install everything and tried it on there but the drivers still will not download properly or at least monkey keeps saying that I need to DL new drivers or there is a little yellow triangle with a !. But the power is really what seems to be more of the problem. Most of the time it does not turn on or at least the 2 gauges do not light up and the 2 different times they did light up when I hit the power button the 2 lights did not turn off??? Did not matter how many times I hit the power button they would either not turn on at all or the 2 different times they did turn on when hitting the power button, would not turn off. I'm stumped.
  25. Bought my HD500 in 2012 when the laptop I had was running Windows XP - had no issues. Now that laptop has died and I've tried connecting to 4 different laptops running Windows 7 or 8 and having no success. My own laptop, when I open Monkey, only gives PodXt as an option in the "Please select the Line 6 device you want to configure" drop-down menu. Moving on to my daughter's laptop - I can select HD500 but the software states that I need to download the latest drivers. I do this and nothing changes. I've tried downloading the drivers before I open (or even download) Monkey and still there is no recognition that this has been done. And without the drivers I cannot connect my unit. I've trawled the forums, uninstalled and re-installed, still no joy. Any suggestions would be welcomed
