  1. I know this is a legacy product, but any insight would be super appreciated. I have a Variax 500 that used to work just fine, but recently stopped producing any sound. For the record, I'm strictly running off batteries at this point but this Variax did use to also work fine with a Pod XT using the variax cable. When I noticed initially the 500 wasn't working, all I got was occasional weird wooshing, spacey sounds, but absolutely no guitar sounds. I checked all the connections, made sure the batteries are fresh, and now I get no sound whatsoever. It doesn't matter where the knobs and switches are, there's just no sound coming out of this guitar. The online research I've done points to "maybe" the bridge cable being bad (it looked fine when I looked at it), but is there anything else I can try and fix to get my 500 working again? thanks!
  2. Greetings, I have an HD500 that I purchased in 2012. I also have a Variax. I use the two together, with the Variax Ethernet cable. At the end of 2015 I updated the firmware on both the Variax and the HD500 to the latest and greatest at that time. I have most of my patches set to also select specific Variax models, including custom tuned models that I created. Everything was working GREAT until yesterday. As a fully immersed computer scientist with an electrical engineering degree as well, it would be strange to hear anyone suggest upgrading the firmware yet again from a configuration that was working fine for over a year. Hopefully, someone has knowledge of the root cause of the following problem, and we won’t need to travel the path of “spray and prayâ€. At this time, I have about 40 patches that work flawlessly. But 3 patches have begun some odd behavior. All three are basic, clean sounds; a noise gate, a red comp, a clean amp with maybe a slight bit of modulation and reverb on the back end. Each patch selects either the Variax banjo, sitar, or a custom tuning. The problem now is that all three of these patches (and only these specific three out of the 40 patches I have programmed) are now dead silent when foot selected. They were working fine a week ago. Since that time, I only made some output balance adjustments between some of the other 40 patches, and not these. If I’m in the POD HD500 Edit app on my desktop, with the HD500 connected via USB, I can load these dead-silent patches to the HD500 from the app and they come alive and sound fine. I can do a “save†on the HD500, and they still play. But as soon as I select another footswitch patch, and try to come back to these problematic patches, they are once again silent. I can even “push†the sound from the POD HD500 Edit, have it come alive and be playing, hit save on the HD500, push the same footswitch assigned to that patch, and it goes dead silent. I have tried a “restore†of sorts by loading saved bundles from 3 and 4 weeks ago. Same problem. I have tried rebooting the 500 (power cycling) --- same problem. I can bring up any working patch, and manually select (on the variax) the banjo, sitar, and custom tuning, and they play fine. Those settings on the Variax are alive and well. WTF, BBQ?!?
  3. Hi! I'm using UX2 Studio Interface and PodFarm 2.59 in Reaper 5.15 x64, Win7 x64, and i have a trouble that PODFarm VST won't output sound. For example i have 3 identical tracks with the same settings and with 1 plugin podfarm on each track with the same settings. But 2 tracks are playing, 1 track not, If i delete podfarm from inserts i hear a direct guitar sound, if i copy vst from other track it works normally . but if i stop/play then again i hear 1-2 tracks, but the same track with the same podfarm settings won't output sound. What to do?
  4. Trying to set up my UX2 with new Surface Book, Win10. Direct USB (no dock), tried both USB jacks, loaded Monkey and all drivers updated, 1/4 cable inserted and input on Instrument in mixer settings, tried multiple cables (USB and guitar) and multiple guitars. Using headphone jack (tried multiple headphones). Uninstalled all drivers and software, reloaded with no change. I was using this on my Win7 pc 2 days ago, no issues. Tried to load on new laptop, meters not moving (hardware set to show input). I purchased the PodFarm 2.59 and it's authenticated. I'm out of ideas, please help.
  5. Hello everyone, I'm here to ask if it is safe to upgrade to windows 10 and my X3 will work; I've read of people having trouble with W10 so, to this day, have all those problems been fixed? by the way, do I need to uninstall everything from line 6, upgrade and then install again the proper drivers and all? thank you! pod x3's still an awesome tool!
  6. Hi I've had my Firehawk 1500 for about 3 weeks now - it sounds incredible, but I have been having problems with the amp freezing when changing patches. It initially happened when I was browsing patches on the iPad app, but has since done it when using the FBV shortboard MkII, with Bluetooth switched off on the amp. It seems completely random as to which patch causes the problem, but once the sound has cut out, I have to turn the amp off and on again. I found a thread with people experiencing similar problems with the Firehawk FX unit, but haven't seen any reports of this problem with the amp. I have installed the latest firmware, removed everything from my tones (there was nothing special in there!), and performed multiple factory resets, but if anything, it seems to be getting worse. I wonder if I just have a bad unit? .. I am going to see if the supplier will exchange it as I am still within 28 days of purchase. Any ideas?? Cheers
  7. Hey guys, I have a spider IV 120 Watt. And just recently had the circuit board replaced. everything was working great. and i hooked up some headphones into the back with the jack adapter and hooked up my ipod so i could play along with some songs i learned and practiced full speed. So its been hooked up like that for about 2 weeks. I had a buddy come over and wanted to hear me jam, so i unplugged the headphones and when to play. and No sound came out... i changed the channel volume and master, even maxed them out and nothing. no hiss, it was like the amp was off. i tried to changed the FX and mids and drive all that nothing. When i plugged the headphones back in, the sound worked, unplugged the headphones..no sound. I tried factory reset that did nothing. When i use the tuner function it responds when i play. and when i use the record function, it does not play anything back until i plug in my headphones then it registers exactly what i played during the recording. Im out of ideas, Its only under warranty until April...so my time is running short. ive also tried to change out the cable from the amp to the guitar, and with and without my boss mt-2 metalcore dist. pedal and that changed nothing. any ideas would be super helpful! thanks!
  8. So i got the Pod HD Pro X today, but I cant get a sound out of it. My headphones are plugged into the Phones input at the front, the guitar in the guitar input of course. As input mode i selected guitar and as output Studio/Direct. The Pod HD is connect to my PC via USB. I have installed all drivers/software and the monkey does not show any new updates available. I can change the effects in Pod HD Pro x Edit and the pod hd is also reacting but i still have no sound (when playing music and stuff) and no guitar sound... I used the Line 6 UX2 before and I just had to plug in the guitar, the headphones and the USB and I had sound when watching youtube videos and stuff and guitar sound when I opened Pod Farm... Help me please! Greetings :) Edit: i dont know what I did, but i hear the sound the PC makes now, but still no guitar sound, although the signal is shown in Reaper and the Tuner is also working
  9. Hello, I have owned a AMPLIFi for a week and everything has worked smoothly. Last night I suddenly did not get any sound from the guitar to the headphones. Furtherly, I cannot change any of the controls: Tone is fixed on A, and all other controls are off (no light diodes, no nothing). I'v tried to reset the whole thing buy pressing blend control and tone button BEFORE turning on the power button. It doesn't help. Anyone know what to do?
  10. Hey there Please can anybody help me? I was always using my POD HD 500 normally with USB and Reaper and everything, but today I'm having this issue: when POD is not plugged in the PC I can hear my guitar normally through Unbalanced Output and headphones, but when I plug it into my PC, sounds goes off in those outputs. I can hear PC's sounds normally, and Reaper is getting signal from it, but very distorted. If I unplug the USB, the sound comes back (despite my PC gets a blue screen, but I've had this issue before when unplugging the USB, and no problems with sound). My PC is a Sony Vaio VGN-FW460J with Windows 10, not sure if it's a problem with it tho. I'm hoping this is not a big issue, I'm depending a lot of my POD for these days!! Any help is welcome, thanks!
  11. Hello everybody, I was recording my guitar as usual with mi UX2 interface, and suddenly there was no sound entering in both lines entries. I was using a dynamic microphone to the interface, then I tried to change to the guitar directly and nothing changes. I actually updated POD Farm 2 with line 6 monkey to the latest version, but nothing happens. Does anybody had the same problem? There was no fall, no hit, no nothing! I was recording normally and suddenly there's no sound entering anymore. Help me please, I'm seriously thinking something happened inside both line entries. What is the next thing to do?? I'll be waiting for your comments!
  12. I bought new line6 ux2 and I install drivers, license and authorized, and install pod farm2 My problem is 1. in farm2 signal is up and down when i play guitar 2. no output sound.... I check windows speaker setting... how can i fix it?
  13. I was very happy with my line 6 wireless system when I bought it from guitar center in 2013. After the first month of owning it, it had audio problems. I sent it back and it was promptly fixed. The transmitter has always had little ticks (signal and audio dropouts, self muting etc.) A couple of months ago the transmitter stopped working. The receiver shows full battery level and rf signal, but no audio meter on the receiver. If you mute the transmitter, it will indicate with a red flashing light on the audio meter (which is normal functionality) I removed the capsule and tested the contacts. I got sound from the contacts which gave me the idea that the capsule was malfunctioning. I purchased a new capsule and updated the firmware on both the transmitter and receiver. There is still NO AUDIO and NO AUDIO METER on the receiver. I created a support ticket and promptly sent the capsule back. I got a confirmation email for my support ticket and NO response. Upon following the link on the confirmation email today it appears my ticket has been deleted. I'm beyond at my wits end with line 6 at this point. I would love to have a wireless for my tour. If I do not get help here, I will switch back to Sennheiser,
  14. I have been a user of the pod hd 500x and reaper for a while now and have had no problems at all. but after the windows 10 update I'm unable to record. my computer and reaper recognize the hd500x and everything is completely updated. but once I open reaper to record I make a new track and arm the track to record but reaper doesn't pickup the sound from the pedal. I can physically hear it myself through my floor monitor and even reaper uses the pedal to send sound to. so I can play old tracks I recorded before from reaper to the pedal to the speaker. I am just confused....... I have literally tried everything! there is nothing I haven't tried and I am getting frustrated. hopefully I can get some help, thanks.
  15. I just connected my new HD500X to my two studio monitors via XLR. I am getting no sound to the speakers. I can't find my headphone adapter so I can't test if audio is going out at all. Just to confirm, I don't need any device between my 500X and my speakers right? XLR cables go directly from pedal to speaker? Is there a setting on the 500X where I have to specify XLR instead of 1/4 line? I just went through the setup guide and found nothing. I just tested, 1/4 gives sound. XLR does not. Thanks for any help
  16. Just got the L2t and I'm wondering if I'm doing something wrong. All the videos I've see show that you simply plug a microphone into the front panel (input 1 or 2) and away you go. I've tried two different mic's and I don't get any sound out of the speakers. Do I need to go through a phantom power setup or something, or do I have a bad rig? The mic's are brand new too and work with my PreSonus.
  17. Hello , I have a problem with my x3 live . For some time after turning on no sound , if I press the pedal wah wah seems to work (though not modulates the wah wah ) but only with the pedal mode wah wah . after a variable period of time , from one hour to five hours POD start functioning correctly . if I turn it off and restart immediately the problem does not occur anymore, but if I keep it off for a while, for example, half an hour I have to wait again to make sure that everything returns to normal. I tried to reset it to factory defaults and reprogram the firmware but it does not change . To any of you ever do this ? It ' a known problem ?
  18. First time poster here! I am a long time L6 user and love the products. I have a SV MKII HD100 amp head that I bought used, just over a year now and when I power up none of the tubes light up and no sound to the Marshall 4X12. I've noted several similar issues posted on the fourum but none mentioned that the tube are not glowing. I have not tried to see if the direct signal works, but will check that next, to see if it works. I'm no techie, just looking for some info on what may be wrong...tubes, transformer, fuses (the fuse on the outer box is good, I don't know how to get at the internal fuses). Any and all info appreciated.
  19. I turned on my amp this morning and I got no sound when I started to play. I plugged in my iphone to the amp, and I do get sound....Does anyone have an idea of what the problem could be other than a bad cable?
  20. I'm not getting any sound from my Flextone II (there is only 1 speaker). It's just a "regular" Flextone II...not an XL, or a Plus, etc. I was playing, and then all of a sudden...no sound. This amp is about 12 years old, used fairly regularly, very good condition, never dropped (lol), never modified/updated in any way, completely "stock". I am getting power It seems to be ok when using the headphone jack....I can hear the differences when I move through amp choices The Line 6 speaker is not blown...(I ran the speaker leads of another small amp to the Line 6 speaker) I didn't notice anything different about the amp prior to losing sound I removed the head from the enclosure and looked at components....didn't see anything broken, no burn marks, etc. I will be checking to see if it might be the speaker/lead wire. Aside from that I don't know what to check. I'd appreciate any troubleshooting tips....things I can look for or test? Are there any "typical" issues, or components that blow out on this particular amp? Thanks Steve
  21. I've been using my Spider Valve MkII HD100 head for four and a half years at rehearsals and live on stage, usually running it through a 4x12" Marshall speaker. After weeks of tweaking I finally got "my" sound out of it, and the fact is I got it to sound really, really great. Through these years it was the most reliable tool, never letting me down even once in all this time. The other day I turned the amp on to rehearse and there wasn't any sound through the speaker outputs. Some days earlier it worked just fine and no one had touched it. The digital part of it worked perfectly, it works as a POD through the line output this is. Off course I've tried with various cables and speaker cabinets and also other amp heads with the cabinets. I did a factory reset, checked the two fuses on the back, but didn't solve the problem. Does anyone know what it could be? Has any had the same problem with these amps? Peace. / PM
  22. I bought a Line 6 UX-1 a while ago and ran it with Mixcraft 6. I wasn't having any troubles till recently. I cant get any sound from either pod farm 2.57 or Mixcraft 6. Pod farm picks up my guitar and mixcraft picks up podfarm but my computer wont pick up and playback from either. It does this on both my desktop and my laptop. I haven't made any changes to anything as far as I know. Yes my speakers are connected as I can still hear itunes, youtube etc. With Mixcraft 6 I cant even hear the sounds in the library so its not just podfarm / the ux1 thats being weird. Yes i have tried uninstalling and reinstalling all the line 6 programs. What is going on? Does anyone know what might be happening? Cheers for any replies.
  23. Hello Everyone, My name is Jim.I'm new to the forum and have a problem maybe one of you can help me with. I have a POD HD400 that I bought last month. I do my own recording and was using a Digitech guitar processor before this. The 400 is a great processor and has many editing functions. Problem is that i played with it for about a month and then plugged it in to update it. I got the new drivers and firmware and after all was said and done i have no sound. It's as if my guitar isn't plugged in anymore. Anyone have any experience with this problem? Windows 8.1, Instruments are plugged into a Yamaha usb audio codec, in my playback and record tabs everything is how it should be. Btw the installations were a success for the 400.
  24. I purchased UX1 yesterday and I've been trying to get sound, but there's nothing coming. I bought UX1 to get better quality for my streams that I will start on Twitch. I've checked for other solutions on the internet, (including old posts from this forum) but nothing seem to work. I've made sure that my settings are correct in the sound/audio settings in the control panel. I've tested the audio in Audacity and OBS, but no sound. I've downloaded and installed the recent drivers (from 2011 right?) but nothing. Is there more programs or something else I need for it to work? I got Windows 7 and my mic is Shure SM57. It would mean a lot if any of you could help, thank you :)
  25. Hello, I have an l2t speaker being driven with my Pod HD500x using a single 1/4" cable from the unbalanced output and into the line input of the l2t. I'm using the 'line' setting on the HD500x. I've been using it now in my band for about 4 months and never had a problem before last night. We typically play fairly loud during practice (seems like I have to really crank it to hear over the drummer). To give you an idea how loud, the master level is typically set at around 1 o'clock and the master output on the HD500x is around 2 o'clock. The modeled 'patch' amps for the HD500x are typically around 75% cranked. So the story is last night after about 1 1/2 hours of playing, it just cuts out and stops playing anything. I waited for a few minutes and it started making sounds again, then seemed to be playing fine for about a minute -- then stops playing anything again. The 2nd time when it started to come back to life, it was very faint -- like it was struggling to do anything. The speaker was facing me so I couldn't see it the master 'limit' light was coming on. I'm assuming if I was overdriving it, the limiter would simply clip the sound which isn't what happened - -it simply stop playing anything although the light in the front was on. Therefore, did I overheat it and it shuts down for safety? If that's the case, do I simply need more power? -- i.e., do I need TWO l2t's or say one l3t? Thank you
