Hi everybody ! I am using currently HX Stomp and I really love how simple and dual pitch blocks sound ( which may be strange to some people ). The reason is that they have no noticable latency or pre-delay. I recently compared it to Micro Pog and the Pog had a noticable lag ( compareable to Dual Pitch set with delay option to 20ms). I know that polyphonic pitch shifters is all about latency vs preciseness and I love that not really precise ( when playing chords ) but very fast sound of HX Stomp pitch shifters. I use them only for octaves and only in monophonic way. To the point - I look for a pedal for one of my pedalboards which would be very close to what HX Stomp Dual/Simple pitch sound like. Unfortunaetly I cannot put HX Stomp on my pedalboard due to the space limitations. Do you maybe know what pedal was those pitch shifters based on ? What pedal would be the closest ? I will be really grateful for help because I would die to get that tone on my pedalboard in one single pedal.

I'm currently splitting my signal with a boss oc-3 into the helix and I have it set on the range setting where it only picks up the lower notes, I would like to switch over completely to the helix. Is there any ways to achieve this same effect?

Hi all, I have been using the HX Stomp for a while now but I'm new to the forum game. I'm wondering if there is an octave effect i'm overlooking that has a variable range filter like the Boss OC-3. For those of you unfamiliar with this, it simply allows you to set the frequency range you wish to be effected with the octave down. This allows you to play bass lines while you comp and not have your entire chord getting altered. Is there anything like this in the helix world? Or could we assuming this will be introduced in a coming update? Alternatively, Is there anywhere we can suggest this to Line6? Thanks in advance! :)

Short version: How can I improvise a low pass filter out of the EQ on my HD500 so that I can get only the E and A strings, like we get in the polyphonic mode in the Boss OC-3 pedal? Detailed version: I've been trying to emulate the polyphonic mode found on the Boss OC-3 on my HD500. I'm running two parallel effects lines, with a graphic EQ as a low pass filter on one (to get just the E and A strings) and a hi pass on the other (just to give some presence while trying to retain the natural sound as much as possible). My signal chain on the bass side is the EQ and a bass octaver running into a Flip Top amp (which has the bass boosted and mids, treb and presence turned off). While I've gotten 70% there, I've run into some expected problems, mainly with the way the improvised low pass filter is working (it doesn't completely eliminate the other strings), because of which there is a constant compromise between the levels of the two channels, which either results in 1) the unwanted octaved D,G,B and E strings leaking in (if I want a stronger bass sound), which clashes horribly when I play chords, or 2) a softer bass sound with a trebly, unpleasant characteristic (owing to the EQ settings on the second effect line). Any ideas on how to get around this problem? Any insight would be appreciated. The video I've attached demonstrates the sound I'm aiming at (it's time-stamped)

Hey there! I use to play with a drummer, just me and him, and with the Helix I do two guitars and the bass. But I have an issue... I don't know how I can play a chord with the guitar and make that the bass line just make the lower note, not the entire chord. I tried with a fliter, eq... and the result isn't great. Isn't there a monophonic octave? Does anybody know how I can get it? Thank you very much for you time!

Does the Firehawk 1500 offer any type of octave or harmony effects in it's internal library of effects? If not, can they be added using the side chain loop? If added to the side chain can they be placed in any order along with the internal effects? I am using 2 different Variax guitars. I just started using the Firehawk 1500 and the FBV 3 pedal. Since I am using the Variax cable and not a 1/4 inch I can't just include outboard effects easily. I am a working musician and there are a couple times a night I would love to have an octave pedal. Any input would be nice.

I'm thinking of buying the Amplifi TT. Does it have an octave down effect? If not, can I program it myself somehow? Thank you.

Electro Harmonix is releasing yet another pedal in their line of <type>9 effects, the Mel9. If you're unfamiliar, check out the videos for the Mel9, Key9, C9, and B9. These things are crazy cool. Limited use, perhaps, but incredibly cool. And of course, they've got the older classics, POG, POG2, HOG, Micro and Nano POG...Pitchfork...maybe one or two more? I didn't submit an IdeaScale for the Mel9, because there are already several for other variations, but this is a line of pedals that I would pay to add on to my Helix. Yes, I would gladly pay for an add-on pack to a $1500 unit that gave me some of these effects. If there isn't the specific fuzz pedal you want on the Helix, you can substitute one of the existing models and have something similar. Same with reverbs, delays, and so on. But there's nothing that can get you the sounds of the Mel9, Key9, etc. Even the octaver in the Helix, which is pretty good, is just not up to the standards of the POG line (in my opinion). Glenn D has a decent organ patch, but he made an entire patch for that and it still isn't in the same league as the B9/C9. So here's my suggestion, which will probably get me mocked, ridiculed, and downvoted. (Is downvoting a thing here?) They have a head-start and they've already nailed this stuff. You can't catch up. So work with EHX, license their code, and sell add-ons for the Helix that contain these effects. They've got this style of effect down. They know what they're doing, and they've clearly got a generic code base that does the tracking for them to use in all these separate pedals. There are two reasons I would pay for this: 1) I don't think it would ever be possible to get it done without licensing the code from EHX. 2) They're very niche effects. Not so much the generic octave sound, but the B9/C9/Key9/Mel9 definitely are. It's a lot of development effort, even if you license the effects, for such a niche effect. (To be clear, I am not claiming it would be simple to implement these from the coding side, even if you license their codebase. I understand it's built on a different platform and would not be something you could just drop in. But there's got to be math and formulas and so on that you could pull out and refactor for your code, right? Or sub-contract their developers to work on your system...) Side note: having just sold my Boss SY300 to help fund my Helix purchase, I'm pretty disappointed in the synth effects on the Helix. I know the Helix can't compete with a $600 box whose soul purpose is to create synth tones, but you're still behind your old Line 6 models in this, and even things like the Zoom B3 have better synth sounds. It makes me sad. :( I really really want my $1500 multi-effects pedal to be the only pedal I use, but right now there are some areas that are lacking. Obviously, this is all subjective, just my opinion, and so on. You're free to disagree. Having said all that, I do love my Helix. :)

Hi, One other minor thing I notice with my HD500 is when I have a high pitch shift (More than +12.0), I notice if I play a single not it sounds fine, but if I combine notes together or have one ringing then pluck another one or play a whole chord, sometimes it tends to make the sound "pixelated or digital." I don't know if the example of the sound I provide makes sense. Basically if I have a high octave setting and play more than one note, it tends to sound bad haha.
