  1. Hey all, I didn't see any post that covers a potential bug I've found yet so posting here. I am using Helix Native 3.71 on Windows 11. My PC is decently high-end, 32gb RAM, 7900x CPU, etc. I've confirmed this occurs in both Cubase Pro 13 and FL Studio 21.2.2. Fresh installs of everything. UMC404HD interface. Helix Native works fine once added to a channel initially, and even after switching through a few different presets, but eventually after switching through many presets (30+) it stops outputting any audio. The plugin still does show the input levels are present (see pics), but even if you disable all the effects or switch presets, once it enters this broken state it will no longer output any audio. If you restart the DAW or delete the plugin from the channel and re-add it then it works fine with any preset again. In FL Studio, it actually makes a quick buzzing sound at the moment it breaks. When this occurs, other instances of Native on other channels don't cease functioning. This feels like it might be a memory leak within the plugin; resources are being allocated when switching between presets but never released, so eventually it presents an OOM exception in Native. It seems to happen faster when switching between more intensive presets (ie: DEVIN TOWNSEND). However, I don't see any increase in memory usage in the Task Manager when this happens. Does anyone know why this is occurring and how to resolve it? Is it possible to file a bug report? Would any other information could help debug this? Greatly appreciate any insight, thanks.
  2. If you run the standalone app and don't get any audio output from your interface, the root cause is likely that your Mac is not allowing Metallurgy to use its mic. During the installation or upon launch of the Metallurgy standalone app, if prompted to allow Metallurgy to access the computer’s microphone, click OK. You can also manually edit this setting within the Mac’s System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Privacy tab - Microphone settings.
  3. I've been using a Helix LT for a few years now and and recently bought a poweramp (Warwick Gnome mini bass head - Not technically a guitar poweramp but does the exact same thing)and 2x12 to play live. The setup sounds great, but I've noticed a squealing/humming sound when the guitar signal is silent or the amp is on but not being used. I have previously been using the Helix into the Effects Return of an amp (but I don't currently have access to this) and I don't recall this noise there. (Although maybe it was because I always wear ear plugs at practice). The hum sounds almost like the standing 'hiss' from a loud amp with overdrive but no signal, but plus a tinnitus-esque electronic squeal. It persists when even the Helix is switched off, so I also don't think its a software issue on the Helix. I've done some experimentation to isolate the Helix: When my signal is Guitar>poweramp, or Guitar>Normal pedal>Poweramp it sounds fine. Swapping all the 1/4" cables used, as well as the power supply to the poweramp and Helix (direct to wall vs extension lead), and unplugging everything except the 1/4" output on Helix (including the guitar). I've also tried it in every other 1/4" plug on the Helix, whether its an input or output jack. Helix>Headphones and Helix>HiFi via Aux (via phones jack and both mono outs) have no squeal. Using headphones from the poweramp also has the squeal. The issue has got to be somewhere between the Helix output and the Poweramp input, but the fact that the sound persists when the Helix is off is really weird. My full signal chain in full is: Guitar > Instrument cable > Helix Input > Helix 1/4" Output > Instrument cable > Gnome Input > Speaker cable > Cab Input. In the Helix settings I've switched between Line ad Instrument levels and various other settings, as well as Ground Lift (even though I'm not using XLR) on both the Helix and the poweramp. After some light searching I found a post on the Line 6 forum that details something similar, but he was "cured" by using an "impedance balanced TRS cable" I'm not even going to begin to pretend I know what that means but I'll try and read up. Alternatively, I have wondered if an XLR-1/4" cable would help, but don't currently have access to one. Can anyone offer potential insight to the cause of my issue here? It isn't loud, and it can't be heard over playing, but I know it shouldn't be there, and it does increase in volume in line with the poweramp output so I expect at band volumes it may be noticeable. I'm running out of ideas here. I'm not sure where the issue is, since helix output to any other speaker is fine, and poweramp input without the helix is fine too. Thanks for reading!
  4. Curious to know how other people use MIDI for volume control on their Helix and what block and parameter you're sending CC values to. I know answers will differ based on the how you're using your volume pedal in the chain. Right now I have my HX stomp set up to take CC messages on the Level parameter in the final Output block but I'm thinking of moving the volume control to earlier in the chain and controlling the Level parameter in my Cab block so it comes before all synth and time based effects. How are other people doing this?
  5. If you are having trouble with your DL-4 MkII stompbox modeler, please try the following: - Use a different guitar, cables, and amp to make sure they are individually working correctly. - Remove all other pedals between your instrument and the amplifier. Ensure that: - The cables you are using to test work correctly by plugging directly from the instrument into the amplifier. - All jacks and nuts on the pedal are tight. - The unit is receiving sufficient power from the correct power supply (fresh batteries or a Line 6 DC-3g, DC-3h or DC-1g). Do not use old batteries to test pedals. - Reset the pedal by pressing the A and 'Tap' footswitches while inserting the power connector and powering on. Continue to hold the switches for approximately 8 seconds, until you see the green LEDs light up. - The last thing to try is to reinstall the firmware. Go to https://line6.com/software/index.html, choose "DL4 MkII" and "Firmware" from the menus, then follow the directions listed with the latest firmware entry. If you are still having difficulty you will need to have the unit repaired at an Authorized Service Center. All Line 6 Pedals carry a 12 month parts and labor warranty from the date of purchase from an Authorized Retailer. Please take a copy of the dated proof of purchase to ensure the warranty is covered. 6. Watch the video - one of my output blocks flashes rapidly and then stabilizes toward the end of the video. However, the output signal cuts completely in and out, in time with the flashing icon. This does not stop. This is regardless of where the signal is coming from (instrument, USB). I have: Rebooted Unplugged all externals and rebooted Erases and restored to factory settings Reinstalled firmware Nothing. Anyone have any ideas? Helix_Vid.mov
  7. Hello, I have a problem with a live line6 pod xt. For some time the sound has stopped coming out, neither in the headphones nor in the speaker. Obviously I don't know if the problem is outgoing or incoming. She turns on quietly. I have read that a 9v a.c power supply is used and that is what is used. I tried to open it to see if there was something missing, but to the eye everything looks ok. Some time ago my father sprayed the contact cleaner product inside the jack inputs. I am attaching the photos I took inside on the central plate. Hope someone who had the same problem can help me solve. Thanks so much everyone for the help.
  8. hi, I updated drivers of Line6 UX2 and everything seems to work fine but whenever I hit the play button or try to record something I hear a tiny continuos 'beeeeeeep' on my phones that only stops if I close the application (i.e. garageband, youtube, spotify). I don't know if I need to change my phones or if the phones output is dirty and need some cleaning, and if it does... how do I clean it up?, I need that 'beeeeep' to stop for the sake of my mixes and any audio reproduction of any kind and any application in my computer that uses UX2 as 'default' audio output. Can someone help me with these please?, maybe a Line6 expert or someone that went through something similar and solved it?. thanks!!
  9. Hello, im new to the hx stomp and recording guitar in digital world. My signal chain from guitar to my headphones/speakers is Guitar -> hx stomp L/mono output -> line 6 GX interface -> pc -> Mixer app in pc (Voicemeeter) -> headphones and speakers. (hx stomp output is set to "LINE") It sounds very similar when i plug it into a PA system and listening through headphones output. Now I am trying to use the USB asio output, but it sounds harsh and thin. Then i try to use the L/mono output but this time setting the output to "INST", it sounds the same to what i hear via usb. Is it possible to make usb output sounds like "LINE" output on L/mono? Or am i wrong in setting up asio? I appreciate to you if u spend your time to read this. *i use voicemeeter because GX interface has only one output port and i want to output signal to many channels inside pc.
  10. I recently purchased the HD500X after owning the HD400 for a while and it got me thinking if it’s possible to use the HD500X as an IEM board? I play for a church and instead of personal mixers, we use on-stage monitors. I found that this is quite inconvenient at most points. My question is, is it possible to run a 1/4 through the aux-in or an XLR into the HD500X that has the audio from the other instruments and vocals, but not run the monitor mix back out through the PA? I know that the Helix could perform such task, but could the HD500X do the same? I feel like if it’s possible, but I’m unsure if it could be done. Thank you in advance!
  11. I was wondering if I need a High-Z input for the split signal I want to use for all my presets, so I record the DI guitar simultaneously, together with the processed sound from the Helix. For all my presets I have a A/B split going from the beginning of the chain (so before all the effects/amps/cabs) to the 1/4" output. It should be as dry as it can get then. There is a mono jack-cable plugged in, which goes to the mixer/interface of course then as well. So is the signal on that cable line signal or is it similar to a real high impedence guitar signal? Thanks in advance! Kind regards
  12. Hello people!, i need your help about this. I connect my piano into the input of the pod xt pro, and use some fx's of it and then i connect the headphones to hear it mixed, AND at the same time i want to connect the pure signal of my piano from the Unprocessed Guitar Out of the pod directly to a selfpowered monitor cab that i have, but there is no audio at all... what i'm doing wrong?. i thought that connected that way i could ear my piano just Dry without effects into the cab. Do i need something else between the unprocessed guitar out of the pod and the input of my selfpowered monitor cab?... I would appreciate any help about this since i want to hear the Dry signal from one Out and the Mix signal with all the effects thru the normal output of my pod or the headphones out like i use to do it. PS: I use normal 1/4 guitar mono cable to make all the connections from ins and outs Thank you!
  13. For the outputs, XLR and Line out If I’m outputting to a console, will it be mic or line? If both are connected to the same type of speaker, (all knobs same), will XLR and Line out have the same levels? Also am I correct in saying that I don’t need a DI box?
  14. Hello All, I have a Helix LT and I'd like to have two identical outputs...one to my FRFR speaker for monitoring/stage volume and one to front of house. Do I need split my signal in each patch and make separate outs or can I simply send a 1/4 cable to my monitor and an XLR to FOH without splitting the signal path? Thanks!
  15. Hey folks, I have a helix floor and two L3m's up on stands. They are setup in my stereo image (L and R). Both are set to be exact same unity gain level on the back. No matter what I do, it sounds like my "right" L3m is so much louder than my left. My patch(s) are always 100% panned center and I can never figure out what is up. If on the output block I pan hard left to -23, it starts to sound perfectly balanced (my right ear is sore!). Can someone tell me what may be happening? Attached patch for reference. D. 16. Hey everyone. I recently noticed that my Helix is outputting different levels through the left and right channels. I've always run a stereo setup so I thought maybe it was the way the amp settings were so I compensated with adjusting their individual volumes. I usually run 2 amps which are hard panned. However, I recently had to setup and run a mono system so that I could have 1 signal go to the mixing desk and another signal go to my own foldback. It was here that I found the signal from the left channel is far quieter than the right channel. I had the two xlr's plugged into the helix but only plugged one into the foldback at a time. This way I could check that the signal was just being doubled onto the other channel and ready for the gig. It was here that I realised that the signal level was different. To make sure it wasn't an effect on a patch I loaded a blank patch and tested the dry signal going straight through the helix and into the foldback. This had the same result. This has me kind of stumped. I can compensate it to make do however left and right channel should be the same. I want to avoid backing everything up and doing a factory reset. I always find doing this stuffs up with my midi programming and snapshots. Has anyone experienced this before?
  17. Hey everyone, I find it difficult to adjust the overall output volume as I create my chain. Do you find best to start with your master output at 12 o'clock or at MAX? Pros & Cons?
  18. I have this firehawk fx, it was working fine... But suddenly, the master volume knob stopped working. I can change the master volume from the phone using the app but the knob is not working. I need a solution.
  19. Ok, so I love my amps. I own a vintage AC30, Marshall Valvestate and actually thinking about getting the Mesa Boogie TC-100. Currently, I am using a Firehawk. I am thinking of upgrading to the Helix. I play in a cover band with quite a number of people. Sometimes bigger venues, but mostly small stages. So I would be playing my amps in some cases (preferably WDW, 4/7/10 cable), but in most cases probably use FOH directly from the Helix. So here's my questions: Are the presets of the Helix much better quality than the Firehawk? Is there an easy way to create presets that would allow me to toggle between playing on my amps and FOH? (I dread creating the same presets in different banks and keeping them synched) How does WDW work when sending the signal FOH? I have both a normal mono output guitar ánd a guitar with stereo output. Is there a way to use three input signals? Or do I have to use a splitter before the input? Any guidance of experienced users or Line6 would be great.
  20. No sound. When it's powered down, and I'm plugged in, audio passes through to the amp. When I boot up the HX, the audio cuts out once it's up and running. I didn't change any settings since my last session. Checked my cables - they are brand new, but checked them without the unit anyhow, they work. I did a factory reset. I have updated the latest firmware (2.54.0). I've only had it for a little over a month. Any suggestions?
  21. Just wondering if anyone has tried to use the headphone out connected to a bluetooth transmitter like this: Amazon.com: Bluetooth Tranismitter Then, simply pair it up to your Bluetooth headphones and you have a cheap on-stage/rehearsal in ear monitor for yourself? Would that work?!? **EDIT** I found a solution that works for me, see my detailed reply below
  22. In Global Settings on the IO page I often find that while adjusting the USB input trim knob my finger accidentally moves the adjacent USB 1/2 IN Destination knob - thus sending the audio to 1/4" jacks and not the XLR outputs which are the ones currently connected to my monitors... so silence..... HELIX Firmware developers :- Please can some thought be given to how the USB trim can be adjusted without the risk of something like this happening ? Its happened many times now and is hard to track down. https://line6.ideascale.com/a/dtd/USB-1-2-IN-Destination-knob-needs-relocating-or-locking-option/920174-23508?submitted=1
  23. Hello. I output signal from Helix LT via XLR L & R to my interface. I'm curious what would happen if: 1. I output only from XLR Left. What happens to the stereo effects such as stereo delay? Do the L & R channels get combined? 2. Sometimes I output XLR L & R to my interface, and then go from 1/4 L out to my guitar amp. In this case is the 1/4 L only outputting what is going out of XLR L, or do XLR out and 1/4 out function separately so that XLR L & R output as separate stereo signal, and 1/4 outputs a combined signal? Thanks.
  24. I am having a big problem with my HD500. The output has become extremely noisy... to the point where it's unusable. The output signal is literally about 60% noise and 40% signal. Also... it has changed all of my sounds (the names and settings appear the same on the display but the sounds are completely different and all very distorted). I'm a broke musician... I don't want to have to pay to fix this or buy a new unit if I can help it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. edit: Tried to reset and reload it... now every sound has a tape looper built in. Thanks.
  25. Hi, I'm a new Helix user and was wondering if the "Multi" Out option could be changed from the 4 (XLR, 1/4, Digital, USB) to just 2. For instance, to send audio only to XLR and Digital, or XLR and 1/4 (and leave the other outputs free for other routing). Could there be a way to mirror one output to another? If not possible, could there be a chance for a firmware update that includes more flexible routing options? Also, is there a possibility to monitor the audio coming from the "Digital" source in the headphones output? This option is not available in the HP settings. Thanks. Leo
