  1. Hello, I'm looking to buy a helix soon and have been constantly reading forums/watching videos. One thing I read about is mono vs. stereo delays and reverbs. I read that using a stereo delay on a mono speaker would sound bad. When I'm playing live, I will go stereo XLR to FOH and then mono line to my QSC K10 for stage sound. If I keep the same stereo patch, will it sound bad through my speaker? What's the best way to do this? Thanks!
  2. Hello, I have a stereo signal path that I would like to collapse to mono. When I use the 1/4 output, the signal gets collapsed automatically. However, I want the output to be set to USB and the only option I have is to make output stereo - USB 1/2, USB 3/4 etc. How can I select the output to be just USB 1, and send a collapsed mono signal through it?
  3. I'm thinking of getting a Helix LT next week to use as a 4CM FX only board with my Orange Dual Dark 50. I've been led to believe the amp has a line level tube FX loop. Would the following configuration of I/O and level settings work to maintain correct gain structure through the rig?... Guitar > Helix In Loop 1 (Inst Lvl) Send > Amp In Amp Send > Loop 2 (Line Lvl) Return Helix (Line Lvl) Out > Amp Return Thanks.
  4. Hey guys I have a question that confused me for a long time I don't have any stereo effect in my chain, all effect is mono. . So, I am using direct out mode XLR L out to PA Mixer And XLR R to a IEM system for myself and other members to listen to ensure my best guitar sound. and I also want to use my 1/4 out L to plug in the Amp/Cab Return as a ampflier (NOT for F.O.H.) Because I want to give the front part of audience just listen only Drums (if we don't use Amp/Cab anymore) But i heard that there is a problem that it will cause the gear break becuz of the "Ground" will be the same between 1/4 and XLR output and it will make "Electricity backfeeding" damage the console and POD HD! REALLY? Can I use 3 output or even 4 output at the same time? Can Someone help me to solve my confusion, and tell me if there's other problem not include? Thx a lot!
  5. I've bought my POD HD300 few years ago and it works perfectly. But recently the output seems to be malfunctioning, either plug to amp/ phone (coz when I test the tuner, it still works, input seems to be working) There's only noise when playing. I ve done the factory reset/ calibrating and it makes no changes. Any ideas to repair it?
  6. Help needed! Firmware 2.11. Brand new unit. Reason for posting is that I can't find this problem described anywhere else on the internet. Been programming on helix (using out of the box 2.01) for an upcoming tour and tech rehearsal for the last few days. Solid 8 hour sessions of tone finding, each day. Zero problems. I had my guitar in the Guitar In, L/Mono 1/4" to amp, Send 1 to Powered Monitors. Pretty standard, nothing too strenuous. Randomly, this clicking starts coming through my amp. Very quietly. Then disappears. About 10 minutes later it has overtaken the entire output board and no signal is heard from the guitar. [uPDATE: even through the USB outs... which have not been an issue for me as I only need the unit for live mainly, but worth seeing if the problem was there, too... which it is!] I've tried every combination of things to find a solution - every jack cable in every jack in and out... every xlr cable in each output... this click is everywhere and no sound is coming through from the signal chain that's loaded. I even tried updating to 2.11, which didnt work. So I tried a rollback to 2.01, 2.00... but to no avail. The click starts during the loading screen, about halfway through (time wise). It sounds like a digital sample rate mess up somewhere in the deep dark internals... Any help I would be so unbelievably grateful for!!! Thank you!
  7. Hi Guys, probably another beginner question if you don't mind. :) So far, I have tried the TRS (Amp mode), S/PDIF, and Phones output of my HD500x. They all sound different and I believe I have yet to dial in the best sound from them. Lately, I am inclined to try out the XLR output of my unit. My question now is, is there any significant differences in output between the S/PDIF and the XLR output? I mean, yes, one is analog and the other one is digital, but am I missing out on a significant difference in sound quality? Or am I missing out on a feature of the HD500x if I do not use the XLR output? I plan to send the XLR output to my monitor speakers via RCA input. One more question, if I use the TRS output in line mode, will it be the same sound I would get from the XLR output (minus the XLR and TRS noise cancellation feature)? Thanks in advance guys! Cheers!
  8. I apologize if this topic has already been addressed. If so, please help and direct me to the information that was discussed. Thank you! When connecting my Firehawk 1500 via the Main XLR outputs on the back to my PA system (Behringer X18 iOS Live Sound Console), I am getting a clipping sound through the PA speaker. As I play and listen simultaneously to what is coming out of the PA and what is coming out of the Firehawk 1500, the clipping sound is only coming out of the PA speaker, not coming out of the Firehawk 1500. I will say that I first experienced this issue while running a mono output from the Firehawk 1500, but there should still not be any clipping even if I run a mono output feed. I have the gain on the mixer turned down very low to where it is almost off and there is still a clipping sound. This is not a grounding issue so I do not need the Ground Lift activated. I already checked that while troubleshooting. I troubleshooted with other XLR cables; all still with the same clipping result occurring. It is not a cable issue. If anyone has had any issue similar to what I am currently dealing with and had a resolve, please let me know exactly how you solved this issue. I will answer any questions that are posed. Thank you! Charlie
  9. Hi there, Does anybody know what kind of DAC and/or amp is behind the headphone out jack on the Firehawk FX? When I connect the Firehawk to my computer via USB and play AIFF for FLAC files from iTunes, the music has much more clarity, instrument separation, and clean power than just plugging headphones straight into my iMac headphone jack. Jamming with my favorite songs is a very high sound quality experience. I use Sennheiser HD598 headphones, so that helps. Because the result it similar to using a dedicated USB DAC/headphone amp combo, I just wondered what's in the Firehawk that makes it sound so good. Anybody know? Or is that a trade secret?
  10. Hi all, I've just upgraded from Amplifi 150 to FH1500 so I'm not too sure about the input/outputs yet. One reason I upgraded was that I could play both electric and acoustic through the amp. I'm not the sound man in the band and the one that is isn't too happy about line6 but I am. Question; can I plug both electric and acoustic in at the same time? I have an Acoustic with XLR out and a Variax Standard connected with a Line6 G10 so which inputs would I use. That might sound a bit basic, but it would really help if anyone could help. Line 6, user manuals would really help. Stew
  11. I apologize if this was asked previously elsewhere. I tried perusing the manuals and searching the forums... For the last 4 years, I have been using Guitar Rig with Rig Kontrol live. Honestly, I might still be a happy user if NI would keep their products up-to-date and not discontinue their hardware. I can't do a live show anymore without experiencing bad audio drop-outs and worse. Time to ditch and look elsewhere... One of the cool things I was able to do with GR, however, was route speaker simulation (cab sim, etc.) to ONLY one side of the outputs. My common setup was to run the output with NO cab sim to my on-stage amp, and the output with the cab sim ON to the DI/PA system. The tones were just a little off from each other, but my stage amp has V30's, and so I'd run the V30 cab sim for the house line, and with a little EQ, I was a pretty happy camper. This became the better option, rather than A) Mic'ing the stage cab for the house feed (not a fan), and B] Running the cab sim ON to my amp signal (Redundant yuck.), or C) Using NO cab sim (horrible shrill line out). So obviously, that's my question. Can you, somehow, route the outputs on the HD500X in such a way where the speaker simulation is running to, say, the Balanced XLR output(s) - meanwhile the 1/4" amp outputs disengage any cab sim? Or...is there another option/configuration I'm not aware of that addresses this issue? Thanks for the help!
  12. I've been using Reaper for years on a Mac without much of a problem. However, recently I switched over to a PC and I'm having trouble getting my POD HD500x's output to come through the computer built in output. It was very easy on a Mac, but I'm having trouble making it happen on WIndows 10. I don't want the audio to output to the POD, I want to hear it through the speakers.
  13. Hi, I've got a problem with my new FX100. From the "Phones" output, only the guitar sound comes out, not the bluetooth/streaming music from my tablet (Ipad) ou smartphone (Android). Did I miss something to have both on my headphone ? Thanks for your help
  14. Hey there - I'm noticing a very considerable difference in level when connecting via the g90 vs. connecting straight to the amp. This is detrimentally increasing the noise floor and causing a great deal of squealing and feedback through the amp. I've moved things around the signal chain and tried alternatives with gain structure and am confident this is not the issue - the only variable that seems to change output level is the line 6 g90... FYI: I'm not currently utilising the 'cable tone' setting on the g90. Signal flow is - Guitar> Line 6 G90> Line 6 Pod HD500x> Amp>
  15. Hi, I've encountered an audio output problem with my POD X3 Bean - it is connected to my PC via USB with all the latest drivers and utilities installed and updated. The thing is, that Pod Farm gets my guitar signal and indicates that there should be output sounds coming through, but I can't hear a thing. Is there a way to redirect the output to my system's default output (speakers)? I don't have enough cables to make a L/R setup from the POD to my PC, so the USB is my best chance. I didn't hear any of the POD's output sounds when I was messing with ASIO, either - same thing with the Control Panel -> Sounds, although I could hear the signal only when I checked the "Listen to this device" box, with enormous latency. So it's definitely getting and giving a signal, though I have no idea how to get the output playing through my speakers. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
  16. There's lots input and output options with the Firehawk line. Here's a breakdown. First let's look at what's the same on both units. USB port for updating firmware and use as an I/O interface. Variax input for any Line 6 Variax guitars 1/4" Stereo headphones (This will cut the speaker off on the 1500) 1/4" Stereo out XLR Stereo out 1/4" Stereo FX Send and Return Bluetooth Wireless for use with the Firehawk Remote app and any other Bluetooth streaming device Firehawk FX unique: 9VDC input for use with the DC3g power supply 1/4" jack for use with a outboard expression pedal (compatible with Line 6 EX1 and Mission Engineering EP1-L6) Firehawk 1500 unique: IEC power cable jack FBV cable jack for use with FBV 3 or FBV MKII MIDI in and out/thru Check out the Midi implementation chart in the manual for details XLR+1/4" Stereo Combo jacks with Gain Adjustment Knob. This is to be used with any source that you want the 1500 to be a FRFR stereo monitor. Like a Pod, Helix, or even an iPhone to play music.
  17. Hello. Is it possible to connect 2 guitars to the L3t and send only 1 output to the FOH? Here's the scenario: 1 guitarist is using a Kemper and has his own amp. He sends his signal to the FOH through the kemper. However since he is on the other side of the stage, I would like to hear his guitar on my L3t. (sort of a monitor for myself) Now, I'm running my guitar into a Pod Hd Pro X into the L3t and would like to send only my signal to the FOH. (sort of a reference speaker / monitor) The hiccup is that I use stereo patches. Is this possible?
  18. Hi! I am currently using the Line 6 UX2 connected to my computer. I have the audio Technica AT2035 connected to my UX2. In the pod farm interface I get the sound and the waves are showing. But when I am trying to record with UX2 I get no sound. When I try to choose the ux2 in windows (recording, not playback devices) I get no sound. I can't here my microphone in my recordings.
  19. I have searched high and low and have not found a straightforward answer. I have an HD500x on the way and a pair of Rokit 6 G3 to pair with it. The Rokit 6's have the following inputs: Balanced XLR Balanced TRS(1/4" jack) Unbalanced RCA I believe I have read that it is preferred to use the unbalanced 1/4" output on the HD500X as the XLR output signal is low. Can I connect the 1/4" unbalanced out to the 1/4" balanced TRS on the Rokits? What cable should I be using? Or should I use a 1/4" unbalanced to RCA cable? I am so confused! Thanks for the help.
  20. Hi, i'm using the pod xt with a valvestate Marshall 100 watt head and cabinet, and i'd like to know what's the perfect output for my equipment. I know i've got several options, like direct, Studio etc... which one would you recommend me for my marshall amplifier? Thanks.
  21. helllo my fellow man, definitely have been dying to create my first pod post and im already a year old user, procrastination is a harlot but uh this here sitiuation had to be brought up to the boys for this here noobeh. thanks aton. so here is my desired signal chain: ---PODHDPRO--crownXLS1500 rack'd amp--PeaveySP-2 600wPA speakers--- First question: shall i run the outputs of the pod hd into the crownXLS using balanced(XLR) or unbalanced(1/4) i plan to use the pa speaker for all around use, from band practice, to live, and to just me riffing off on myself. i want clarity like most and im playing an electric guitar with a back track from desktop btw... Second question: i also have a yamaha emx 640 6channel mixer i could put in the signal chain right after the power amp and then into pa speakers but honestly i have no clue if thats is useless or necessary..? (i have been using studio monitors when writing but im just tired of it sounding like runny shards when i plug into my spider iv combo amp or our other pa system for practice) Third question: would you guys recomend using an old arse pa like the peavey sp-2ti 600w for this setup or should i go with another rig setup approach. i always thought just my pod hd pro to pa system would do but apparently not but im not to sure on this point, so far im just following directions of a god-like guitarist friend of miine (refering to new power amp addition). id like to say the help would be for the greater good lol but i appreciate all who read this.
  22. Hey all. So I've got a 6 channel interface. I use all 6 inputs for drums. Would I be able to utilize the S/pdif connections on both my interface and the pod? What input, in logic, would I have to pick in order to record what my Pod is sending through the s/pdif?
  23. My UX2 came in a few days ago. I got some decent Bose headphones with a 1/4 inch adapter so I could hook it up to the phones jack, and I noticed something strange. When I plug it in all the way there is no sound or it is at extremely low volume. I've checked knobs and settings and it doesn't make sense why it isn't working. But then, I noticed if I plug in the phones about 3/4 of the way in I can manage to hit a "sweet spot" where the sound actually comes in, but this is bothersome as it doesn't always like staying in place. EDIT: Resolved. It was just a crappy adapter.
