Hi guys, I installed Helix Native and I am very impressed! I had to make a metal video to see how well this plugin performs in a full band mix and I am VERY impressed. You just can't beat the functionality of this plugin. The fact that you can keep tweaking your Helix settings right until the very end without re-amping is a huge benefit. Not that it needs a lot of tweaking because it already sounds very good with minor tweaking. I'm using an Emperor 4x12 IR for the upcoming Heavy Hitters Collection by OwnHammer. The release of this amazing pack is coming very soon so stay tuned for that. I love this Emperor cab for huge rock and metal tones, it just sounds great. I'm using the C65 speaker option. I believe that's the stock speaker that came in this cab. Hope you enjoy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yI10V7JLeDU

Available now: The OwnHammer Heavy Hitters Collection Volume II. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TC8JKHc2e6E (taken from the official OwnHammer HHC2 newsletter) The greatly anticipated sequel to last year's viral IR library, the Heavy Hitters Collection Volume I, like its predecessor contains four monumental cabinets, each loaded with three different speaker types, those being: “212 ZLFB†based on a Zilla Fatboy 2x12 cabinet. - “H75†based on Celestion G12H-75 Creamback speakers. - “LYN†based on Celestion G12-50GL Lynchback speakers. - “V30†based on Celestion Vintage 30 speakers. “212 ZLSF†based on a Zilla Super Fatboy 2x12 cabinet. - “M25†based on 6402 cone Celestion G12M-25 speakers. - “V30†based on Celestion Vintage 30 speakers. - “WLV†based on Celestion WH-80 Wolverine speakers. “412 EDVH†based on an EVH 5150 III 4x12 cabinet. - “EDVH†based on Celestion G12EVH speakers. - “SHF†based on Sheffield 1230 speakers. - “V30†based on Celestion Vintage 30 speakers. “412 EMPR†based on an Emperor 4x12 cabinet. - “C65†based on Weber Ceramic 1265 speakers. - “H100†based on Celestion G12H-100 speakers. - “V30†based on Celestion Vintage 30 speakers. Like the HHC1, each cabinet includes dual speaker blend permutations, global V30 cab blends, and a Summary area. In place of the A1 Picks from the HHC1 is a new set of inclusions unique to the HHC2, the Custom Mixes. This takes the A1 segment to a new level, incorporating what likely would have made it to that section, and some things that wouldn't on their own, and blending them together for five tremendous and versatile tones. Each of these comes in four different mix types, mirroring most of the multi-mic recipes from the recent Player Pack entries. Like the A1 Picks in HHC1, the Custom Mixes section takes a library with almost 10,000 individual options and puts you right in the middle of the cream of the crop with 20 files, should you choose to keep it simple. With the HHC2, getting a wide variety of amazing sounds couldn't be easier! The library along with more information and a wealth of sound clips can be found at and purchased from: ownhammer.com/hhc2

Anyone who's using Ownhammer IRs with Helix, I'd suggest reading the Ownhammer tutorial about that. My short takeaway for the subtly best results: If you're comfortable not mixing Ownhammer IRs with other brands, use the files in the Fractal folder rather than Helix His advice on keeping all parallel IRs on the same processor path seems more dubious. If that were an issue, seems like it would affect all patches, not just ones with IRs, Ownhammer or not.

Hey guys, Just released this new Helix video. I really wanted this to be a solid rock track with a few different types of tones. I initially wanted to use a marshall amp model but I ended up using the Solo amp models exclusively for the guitars. The midrange on those amps is just insane! For the bass I used the Tuck n' Go amp with the Obsidian 7000 drive pedal. After some tweaking with that pedal I found that for me it works best when the eq is set completely flat. I'm using some very nice IR's from OwnHammer that are quite new and unique! It's the MR82 which can be found here: http://www.ownhammer.com/store/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=179 It's based on a Marshall 4x12 tall cab. Definitely check those out if you dig the tones. Here is the song! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Sey4dPl_LU

Hi guys, Man, Line 6 did an INCREDIBLE job with that Badonk amp model. I honestly feel that for heavy music that amp model is my favorite amp in the Helix now. I used to be a big fan of the Big Bottom amp so naturally this one suits me well. The improvement however is definitely there. To me it feels and sounds more realistic and warm while still maintaining that HUGE crunch! Paired with the OwnHammer 412 Recto V70B it's just incredible..... I'm also digging the new Obsidian 7000 (Darkglass B7k) bass drive pedal. Anyway, so I made a video about these new features. Hope you enjoy this one! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhdb2LUHATc

Hi everybody! I just finished a new tune with my new LTD Baritone guitar into the Helix and it's sounding pretty darn massive! Someone suggested that I try the Fatality Line 6 original amp with this guitar and it is a great pairing. This guitar is tuned to drop-Ab so the amp model has to handle the low tunings well. I did use a tubescreamer model up front though, to tighten up the low end more. For the Cab sound I used some new OwnHammer IR's from the 412 Recto cab which is available now at http://ownhammer.com/412-recto I used the V70B for the main rhythms and a couple of the other ones for the additional parts. It's safe to say this is by far my favorite cab to use now so I highly recommend checking it out! Anyway, I hope you guys enjoy! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kfaPyhrBkRA

Hey guys, Here is a new Helix video for you! It's an alternative rock song using my Fender American Special Stratocaster. I'm running that into the Helix using the new wonderful OwnHammer Class-A Duo IR's. I'm using a couple of different amps but for the main tones I chose the Mandarin 80 model. It sounds pretty nice with my strat and those OH IR's. After the song I also demonstrate the presets. Enjoy! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A40IbRkB1Ys

Hi everyone, I think the ultimate way to test any modeler is in the context of a full band mix. That is why I recorded this song and made a video for you guys. This song covers some clean tones, heavy distorted riffs and little things in between. For all the guitar and bass parts I used the Helix combined with the wonderful OwnHammer Impulse Responses. I think the Helix holds up very well in the mix, what do you think? I'd also like to add that the Helix is an outstanding unit for bass! If you have any questions about this mix I'd be happy to answer them here. I'm also planning on doing a mix tutorial series on my channel that will cover every single aspect of the mix, including mixing and processing the guitar and bass parts. If you're interested in that stay tuned and subscribe. I hope you enjoy this video! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bVs8I8-mKgs

Hi everyone, Just released a new video. This one focuses on (modern) Metal sounds with the Cali IV amp model. I tried to make it as heavy as possible... After the song I also explain the preset and OH IR's I used. If you have any questions I'd be more than happy to answer them! Note that the bass parts were also done with the Helix. Enjoy! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uN6hIRc9nv8

Hi everyone! I'm new here but definitely not new to Line 6 as I have used their gear extensively for the past 15 years or so. I got my brand new Helix a few days ago and I am very happy with it! I made a video for my YouTube channel in which I give my initial impressions, show off some sounds (in a full mix, bass included) and I also talk a bit about using IR's with the Helix. I hope you enjoy this video, I sure had a blast making it. I'll be doing way more Helix videos in the future so if you are interested in seeing more please hit subscribe. If you have any questions I'd be happy to answer them all. Cheers! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AYv_oCBCQ2M
