Inputs: 1/4" Instrument (guitar, bass), XLR mic (no Phantom Power), CD/mp3 player (1/8" stereo input), 1/4" Auxiliary. Outputs: Unbalanced dual-mono audio signal appearing in both left and right outputs on amplifier and headphone jacks. Product Dimensions: 12.5" (L) x 7.5" (W) x 3.25" (D) Weight: 4.1 lbs. Power Adapter: included Line 6 PX-2 only (Specs: 9V AC, 2000mA, 2.5mm diameter). No battery power option available. SD Memory Card: FAT 16, 16-bit Mono/44.1K .wav file (ONLY) import capability, 2 GB maximum capacity; SD Card NOT INCLUDED. Card function is for transferring of properly formatted .wav files from computer to JM-4; will NOT record to SD Card directly whatsoever. Note: Only SD Cards function properly; there is no support for usage of mini-flash cards with an SD Card adapter. For reference on functionality of SD card related tasks, please refer to the JM-4 Advanced User's Guide, found on the Manuals page. Application Q: How do I record from both the Guitar and Mic inputs at the same time on the JM-4 Looper? A: You can only record from either the Guitar input or the Mic/Aux input using the Record Select button on the left side of the pedal, but not both at the same time. The AUX input can be routed to be recorded in conjunction with either the Guitar input for guitar amp and effect processing, or the Mic input with the vocal processing effects by holding down the Record Select button, then selecting your routing option from the screen. Known Issues -Quick Capture = Hold the UNDO switch and then hold down REC switch (not REC + UNDO as it is silkscreened on the unit). In other words, first step on UNDO switch and keep it held down while also stepping on REC switch. -The "Clip" LED lights up upon powering up the JM-4. This is normal power-up behavior. -Some of the Artist/Song Presets from the original Spider III release were not included in the JM-4 release due to space restrictions. -The Guitar Tone Presets (70's sounds by Song Title) are simply guitar tones. They are not backing tracks. The backing tracks on the JM-4 are original compositions written and recorded by studio musicians specifically for Line 6 Spider Jam and JM-4 products. Registration & Warranty Q: How do I register my JM-4? A: You can register any Line 6 product to your account here: Registration. Q: What is the warranty on the JM-4? A: Twelve months from the date of purchase. Authorized Line 6 Service Centers will need you to provide a copy of the purchase receipt to validate date for warranty processing. Please be sure to have those materials ready, should you need to get your unit serviced under warranty. Troubleshooting & Service Q: How do I troubleshoot my Line 6 Pedal? A: Please refer to the Line 6 Pedal Troubleshooting FAQ Q: How do I perform a Factory Reset on the JM-4? A: Power on the unit while holding the Settings/Tone button down for 5-8 seconds. Q: I'm hearing this background noise present when using the JM-4, what should I check? A: Check to make sure the Mic Trim knob is turned OFF when not using the microphone input. Q: I am noticing clipping and or popping sounds on my backing tracks? A: Some backing tracks are louder than others and may clip. If you notice clipping occuring you can lower the song/drums playback level until the clipping is no longer heard. Replacement Parts & Manuals Some replacement parts are available from the Line 6 Store. If you are looking for the manual, please go to the Manuals section. jm4 presets.pdf jm4 presets.xls jm4 user banks.xls spiderjam loops and presets-1.pdf
  3. Hey guys. New to the Helix world and absolutely loving the Stomp - it’s replaced my entire Hot Rod Deluxe + FX8 for an upcoming tour requiring simple patch changes. I have managed to set up a Mission expression pedal (no toe button) to control parameters just fine. I have also set up 2 x FS5U foot switches as FS4 and FS5 no problem using a Y cable. So far, so very useful. But my problem comes if I have one FS5U and the Mission pedal through the Y cable at once. The FS works fine, but the expression pedal travels from 0% at the heel, through 100%, and back to 0% at the toe position. I have them both assigned as FS and EXP respectively, but I can’t seem to find the magic combination of position and polarity to get it just to dial from 0% heel to 100% toe... Any suggestions? Ps. I’m running all the latest software etc...
  4. Hey! Seems like it doesn't exist on the website, and also doesn't give me the option to download it in Line6 Monkey (the pedal is hooked up properly and is being detected by my computer/monkey). Any suggestions? Lena
  5. Using HX Stomp, there are black boxes touching some shortcuts. Also when we are selecting category in the effects list, and we touch the fs1 or fs2 sensor, we got a black box on the screen, and covers a part of the display. Also when you enter in the tuner option and you touch fs1 and fs2 sensors, you got a question 'swap fs1 and fs2' and with any option you select, this pop up stay there mixing with the tuner screen
  6. I am trying to set up a chain starting with volume pedal - assigned to EXP1 and a wah pedal assigned on EXO2 I want the volume pedal EXP1 to be ON all the time, when I TOE IN to switch to EXP2, I want the volume to remain on, and the wah to come ON as well the WAH functionality when on the EXP2. Right now when i toe IN the EXP1 goes to EXP 2 , but it turns the volume OFF. may be an overkill come to a forum for this, but I am just bouncing some ideas
  7. I am confused about how use a volume pedal block and where to place it in my preset signal path (chain) so that it only acts a true "louder quieter" pedal and does not change the sound or impact other blocks in the chain. Example: If I place the volume pedal at the end of the chain (last block before Output) it still changes the intensity of my tremolo . So if I turn my pedal down with my tremolo active, - it sounds like there is no tremolo at all, - and only if I volume up on the pedal does it start to sound like there is tremolo happening. So put the tremolo block after the foot pedal in my signal path. This is also happening with an EQ block I am using. If I set the Graphic 10 Band EQ where I like it at say 70% on my volume pedal, - when I turn the volume pedal down - it starts to sound super mid-rangy. Where can I place the volume pedal (or how do I set it up) so it makes everything sound exactly the same, but just a louder or quieter?
  8. Hi, I’m looking at replacing my original cable that connects my fbv express mkii pedal to my Spider V 240 head as Iv recently broken the clip on the rj45 connector and also noticed the plastic cable sleeve beginning to split due to wear and tear, exposing the inner wires. The writing on the cable itself says it’s a Cat5e cable and iv looked at the wiring pins/colours and know it’s a straight type, not a crossover type. My question is can I use a Cat6 cable to replace the cat5e? Iv heard that using the wrong cable can kill the amp and/or pedal. I’m looking at getting a nylon/flat cable for more durability instead of the cheaper hard plastic ones but can only find these types for Cat6 upwards. thanks scott
  9. Snapshots do not store or recall the EXP 1 and 2 assignment. So when you engage the Toe Switch, the onboard pedal switches between EXP 1 and EXP 2 assignment, but Snapshots do not account for that since they only store the Wah or Volume blocks On/Off bypass state. There is a workaround however. You can connect a pedal to Helix's EXP 2 jack (or even just a dummy 1/4 plug in the jack) that forces the onboard pedal to remain always as EXP 1, thus it won't change and the Snapshots are recalled as expected.
  10. Hi y'all In all patches in the firehawk when I move the volume pedal it sets the "drive" of the amp setting to another position than programmed. First I thought the "drive" is assigned to be tweaked by the pedal, but as far as I know you can not tweak amp settings with the pedal. I calbirated the volume pedal but this did not help at all. Example: "drive" is programmed to 80%. Sounds nice. Now I move the pedal to adjust the volume and the volume is controlled nicely, but also the "drive" parameter jumps to somewhere around 50%. When I move the pedal again the "drive" never goes back, it moves between 40 and 50%. No chance to bring it back up to its initial setting. Firmware version. 1.30 Anybody the same problem? Solutions? Thanks!
  11. Hi all! Just a quick question: is it possible to assign an expression pedal to control, for example, the volume, in a snapshot, and change the function of that very expression pedal in another snapshot, for example, a wah control?
  12. Hey guys, I was just wondering (and hoping this wasn't answered already) if it is possible to save a single effect(pedal) as a global preset/instance to be able to quickly recall it in different pedalboard presets. I am thinking of it as having your favorite physical guitar pedal with very specific settings of the knobs. Or a fx plugin chain in your favorite DAW that you always use. Maybe it could be reached through your standard effect selection path? Thanks
  13. I have a PODhd500x. My expression pedal doesn't function. I have rested global settings. I have updated firmware and flash memory. I have calibrated the pedal and pedal calibration says 'F'. What could be wrong and someone please tell how to fix it? I live in a place where there are no service centres close by. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
  14. I Everyone, this is my first post I'm Italian, sorry for the bad english ;-) the question is: Is it possible to use the HX Stomp as a controller for an exteral midi pedal switcher (like the disaster area dpc8ez) as described below? My goal is to set the unit always in snapshot mode, using a snapshot bank per song and the corrisponding 3 snapshot for the sections of the song (verse-chorus-solo/special) I want to use the unit solely for modulation, reverbs, delays and eventually amp simulation, using the dpc8ez (or other midi pedals switcher) as a controller for 3/4 analog drive pedals combination. So...can I assign each button for recalling a snapshot AND a preset on the pedal swicther? Example of a song/snapshot bank: - snapshot/switch n 1: no pedals from the switcher + some effects from the hx - snapshot/switch n 2: preset 1 on the pedal switcher and no effects from the hx - snapshot/switch n 3: preset 4 on the pedal switcher + some effects from the hx thanks in advance to everyone ciao from italy Teo
  15. I've been watching people set up some high gain tones by putting a pedal before the amp with the drive turned almost all the way down and the volume/bright all the way up. I have mostly seen this done with tube amps. Not sure about solid state. Either way, has anyone tried setting something up like this on the HD500X? If so, what do you guys think? Does it work about the same?
  16. NOTE: Please be aware that this is NOT for the Helix LT. The instructions contained in the document below illustrate how to resolve loosening and squeaking that may be encountered with your Helix® floor processor's built-in expression pedal. Line 6 recommends that this maintenance be performed by an Authorized Service Center. Please note that while opening your Helix to perform this maintenance does not void your warranty, attempting this procedure yourself is done at the risk of potentially damaging the unit. Helix_Expression_Pedal_Troubleshooting_Instructions_Rev_A.pdf The procedure is demonstrated in the following video: Line 6 recommends that this maintenance be performed by an Authorized Service Center. Please note that while opening your Helix to perform this maintenance does not void your warranty, attempting this procedure yourself is done at the risk of physical harm or death and/or potentially damaging the unit. Please note that for those of you in New Zealand/Australia, the unit is classified as a Class I appliance with an IEC mains power input. This means that if you choose to repair the unit yourself, you must have a licensed technician test and certify it as safe to use before it gets reconnected to the mains power. 17. Hi, Please create the POWER SOAK for the Helix This attenuator was created by Tom Schultz from the band Boston. This iconic device was placed between the speakers and the cab, stepping down the volume of a tube amp running at high volume. The result is a tone that is very uniquely the Boston guitar tone. Here is a review and links to audio samples of the product to get you started. https://www.rockman.fr/Reviews/Power_Soak.htm Regards, Allan
  18. Hi all. I am new on here but I am desperate for some help. Basically can you add extra footswitches to the helix? I want to be able to control the looper and maybe a couple of stomp effects from a different location to the helix (just a few feet away) Is there a pedal that can do this please? Many thanks Richard
  19. I've fallen in love with the 'Alpha Haunt' by Old Blood Noise Endeavours. But it's quite expensive after international shipping and the currency change. I want to try replicating it in the Helix, but I'm pretty new to Fuzz tones (mostly been an OD guy) and haven't done a good job so far. Who can help me get a preset together that works like the Alpha Haunt? PEDAL DEMO .
  20. Hey everyone, I find it difficult to adjust the overall output volume as I create my chain. Do you find best to start with your master output at 12 o'clock or at MAX? Pros & Cons?
  21. Just wondering if we could get a helix model of this in the new update? I figured it would help me have more game and increase my chances of satisfying my female audience members. Thanks! https://www.musicradar.com/news/steel-panther-court-controversy-with-lollipop-melter-signature-distortion-pedal
  22. Hello, I am thinking of buying the Helix LT but I keep hearing of the pedal breaking. Does anyone know if this issue has been resolved or should I just buy the more expensive Helix floor model?
  23. Hi all, help please!!!! I want to setup helix on a pedalboard for easy of use obviously with the added expression pedals now setup and the extra pedals coming in from the effects loops. I had planned on getting 1 of the larger pedaltrains but im now worring about the issue of helix obviously being angled as per any other multi effects pedal chassis layout but the pedaltrain will be on an angle as well, so is there any other good options or has anyone already set this up on a pedaltrain and found that its not an issue??? Thanks
  24. Hi Line 6 geniuses, I am in need of your expertise. Recently I purchased a Helix Rack to replace the Pod HD Pro. I'm having some trouble getting the tap tempo working from my pedalboard correctly. The pedalboard is a Fractal Audio MFC-101. Per the Helix user manual I have the tap tempo switch set to midi cc# 64 and on/off values of 127. I've tried on/off values of 64/64 and 64/127 as well but it just doesn't seem to be receiving the messages. All other midi controls are working (changing presets, enabling disabling blocks, volume control, tuner, etc.). Is there something in particular that I should be doing to set the tap tempo from a footswitch?
  25. In case you need to perform a pedal calibration for your Firehawk FX. Here are the steps: 1. Hold down footswitch A while powering on the unit. At startup the display will show "00" and footswitch D LED will be lit. 2. Press footswitch D to begin. The display will change to "01" and footswitch D LED will turn off. 3. Press the pedal forward firmly to toggle the pedal toe switch. The display will change to "02" and footswitch D LED will be lit. 4. Move the pedal to the heel position. 5. Press footswitch D. The display will change to "03" and footswitch D LED will be lit. 6. Move the pedal to the toe position (do not click the toe switch). 7. Press footswitch D. The display will change to "04". 8. Move the foot pedal and watch the values change on the display. Values will scroll from a min. of 0 to a max. of 99. 9. Press footswitch D to save the calibration values. The display will change to "05". 10. Power cycle the unit and your pedal is calibrated.
