  1. I'm trying to power my Firehawk and another small stomp box off the same PSU. The Firehawk one says it is good for 3000mA, which in my experience (having powered multiple stomp boxes from a single 1000mA supply in the past) should be enough for the Firehawk and then some, but when I try to daisy-chain the power with a splitter cable I get horrible hum/digitial whine on my signal. One usual cause for this is drawing too much power from one PSU by connecting multiple pedals, but like I say I've had several pedals happily powered from one 1000mA supply in the past, so my question is, how much power does the Firehawk actually draw, and is my over-drawing of current the reason behind this hum/whine, or it is something else (like a ground loop issue or my splitter cable needing to be grounded better or something)?? I'd love to know because I'd rather not have to take up TWO spots on my power strip just to power my Firehawk and a tuner pedal or something....
  2. In my past I managed to achieve a really nice distorted tone with the POD Screamer. Recently I tried to recreate that tone with real pedals and noticed that it sounded nothing like that which shouldn't be a suprise because the Pod-Screamer has Bass and Treble controls which the real Tube Screamer doesn't have. So what exactly is the real model of the POD-Screamer? The only thing I found with Bass and Treble controls is the ''Boss ODB-3 Bass OverDrive'', ''Ibanez TSB9'' and a Behringer-Copy of the Boss. I wouldn't mind buying one of these pedals but I don't really know if they do the same as the POD-Screamer since they're all bass pedals. Any experiences or suggestions (except buying and trying :D) ?
  3. Good Day Everyone. Been recording with my pedal successfully for years using the USB out on the pedal. Need to start recording using a 2nd DI box track but have not purchased one or small interface yet. I have an older P.C. with no capture card. Just USB and the standard 1/8" audio and video jacks Can you record your tone track and a separate plain tone track simultaneously to two tracks(on your recording software) from the line 6 pedal using just the USB out? If not Opt#1(without DI box) just interface Is it possible you can send the tone signal via (1/4" out) to an interface, then send a separate signal via (XL out) to the interface, then to the P.C to record on two different tracks? Or will i have to buy both the Interface and the DI box to accomplish this? Any incite will be greatly appreciated. Cheers Rick
  4. Hi all, I know theres a million questions about the pedals not working on these boards, and a simple calibration always seems to solve it. I have just purchased an HD500X used, and the pedal seems to work intermittently. It will work pretty good for 5 minutes or so then just stop working entirely. I have tried calibrating it, but when it goes to testing it the scale just sits at 0 instead of moving through to 255. I can not get it to register any sort of input at this point. Any ideas on what could be causing it, if it is hardware or software related? Any responses and advice are much appreciated!
  5. Hi, I'm pretty new to music hardware. I got an e guitar and I want to record on my MacBook in GarageBoard. I'm interested in buying the Pod HD 500, because it has an audio interface and pedal controls, but I don't know if I can use those to toggle effects on the virtual pedal board in GarageBand itself. I know the Pod HD 500 offers own effects, but I would prefer to use software effects to bypass any limitations like limited RAM on the device itself and I'm not interested in live performances anyways. I know that the foot switches can send MIDI signals and I found some indication that this should be possible in the manual, but I seek confirmation by any experts before I buy it. It would be very helpful to get fairly simple explanation how this can be done. Thank you so much!
  6. POD Go is fully compatible with the Line 6 EX-1 and Mission Engineering's EP1-L6 external expression pedals. Other pedals may work with POD Go, although they may not be fully compatible or tested, such as the Dunlop DVP1XL. In some cases, the pedals internal dip switches may need to be adjusted to ensure proper polarity. If you experience trouble with inaccurate expression pedal swing, try adjusting any internal or external dip switches the pedal may have. Also note that any expression pedals that appear to work backwards can be set to work properly by setting Global Settings > Switches/Pedals > EXP 2 Polarity to “Inverted.”
  7. I have a problem with the POD HD 500X. I'm normally playing at home then I want to change from the EXP1 to EXP2 to use the Wah effect, but the POD shuts down and it begins to restart over and over again without starting. Waht could it possibly be? FX overuse? Wrong calibration?
  8. Last week the exp pedal on my LT started getting tighter and tighter, and today it just stopped working. The pedal is still tight, and although it goes up and down it just stopped working (the click to swap between exp 1 and 2 is still fine). The pedal being tight shouldn't be much of an issue, probably fixable if i loosen up the screw on the side, but I think this looks like a problem with the optical sensor of the exp pedal. As far as I know we don't have any official line 6 customer service here in Spain and I bought it used, so no warranty whatsoever. Trying to come up with some DIY solutions, so I would love to hear your feedback Cheers!
  9. Hi, I use an external FX pedal on my HX Stomp and I have problem with the pedal position vs. FX range. I don't know why but my pedal range is not matching the FX range of a module like a WAH. What I mean is that on heel-position the FX range is at 0% then at about halfway the pedal (so 50% heel/50% toe) the FX range is at 100% and when I go further towards toe-position the FX range moves back to 0% when I'm at 100% Toe-position. I want to have the FX range match the pedal range, so heel=0% FX range and Toe=100% FX range. I've been through the settings but the only setting I could find is the MAX and MIN FX level for the module but this is not related to the pedal-position Can anyone please advise how to achieve this? Thanks in advance
  10. Hi everyone, I am new in this forum. My name is Jean-Michel, I compose as one-man death-metal band Mindkiller. I have since a few weeks a Vetta II HD, and I my guitar is a LTD MH400NT with EMG 81-85. I use the preset "Chaotic Bottom", so a mix between Mesa and 5150 and I record through garage band. I am not very satisfied with the sound when I record, as I would add more "chunck" and attack in my sound. I was thinking about mixing the preset with an extern pedal but I am not sure how to do it. At the back of the head, I find two entry for external loop. Do I need 2 stereo cables, then classically add my external pedal ( in this case a old Metal Zone, as I saw a video of Ola Englund from the Haunted showing a very impressive sound with this pedal combined with a Randall amplifier ), then press "loop" at the front of the head ? Thank you for your advices! For people interested to hear a few riffs, check the video at the front page of my project : https://mindkiller-band.jimdo.com Best regards, Jean-Michel
  11. Hi I am using a FBV Express MKII with my Amplifi TT. Does anyone know how to enable the 'tweak' function on the FBV Express with the volume/wah pedal? The advanced user guide states the following: Pedal VOL & WAH Indicators: These two lights at the left of the onboard Pedal indicate the current mode. When both lights are lit this indicates the Pedal is controlling the assigned TWEAK parameter I can switch between vol and wah modes with the toe switch, but how do I then enable the tweak mode with both lights lit? Ideally I want to be able to use the pedal tweak in conjunction with 'FX tweak' and 'Assign to Pedal' from the Amplifi App, so that I can change parameters on the fly. Thanks in advance! :)
  12. Hey guys. New to the Helix world and absolutely loving the Stomp - it’s replaced my entire Hot Rod Deluxe + FX8 for an upcoming tour requiring simple patch changes. I have managed to set up a Mission expression pedal (no toe button) to control parameters just fine. I have also set up 2 x FS5U foot switches as FS4 and FS5 no problem using a Y cable. So far, so very useful. But my problem comes if I have one FS5U and the Mission pedal through the Y cable at once. The FS works fine, but the expression pedal travels from 0% at the heel, through 100%, and back to 0% at the toe position. I have them both assigned as FS and EXP respectively, but I can’t seem to find the magic combination of position and polarity to get it just to dial from 0% heel to 100% toe... Any suggestions? Ps. I’m running all the latest software etc...
  13. I have several presents where I want the volume pedal and the wah. When I add these blocks to the path it automatically assigns the volume to exp2 and Wah to exp1. To change between you use the toe switch on the pedal. This is all good except as it's in volume mode as default I have to press the pedal all the way forward to activate the hidden toe pedal to get to the wah. The problem is now I'm at 100% volume as I've had to push the volume pedal all the way forward to get to the tow switch ie all my spare headroom, and it's too loud. Any suggestions please. Thanks
  14. Using HX Stomp, there are black boxes touching some shortcuts. Also when we are selecting category in the effects list, and we touch the fs1 or fs2 sensor, we got a black box on the screen, and covers a part of the display. Also when you enter in the tuner option and you touch fs1 and fs2 sensors, you got a question 'swap fs1 and fs2' and with any option you select, this pop up stay there mixing with the tuner screen
  15. Hey! Seems like it doesn't exist on the website, and also doesn't give me the option to download it in Line6 Monkey (the pedal is hooked up properly and is being detected by my computer/monkey). Any suggestions? Lena
  16. I am trying to set up a chain starting with volume pedal - assigned to EXP1 and a wah pedal assigned on EXO2 I want the volume pedal EXP1 to be ON all the time, when I TOE IN to switch to EXP2, I want the volume to remain on, and the wah to come ON as well the WAH functionality when on the EXP2. Right now when i toe IN the EXP1 goes to EXP 2 , but it turns the volume OFF. may be an overkill come to a forum for this, but I am just bouncing some ideas
  17. I am confused about how use a volume pedal block and where to place it in my preset signal path (chain) so that it only acts a true "louder quieter" pedal and does not change the sound or impact other blocks in the chain. Example: If I place the volume pedal at the end of the chain (last block before Output) it still changes the intensity of my tremolo . So if I turn my pedal down with my tremolo active, - it sounds like there is no tremolo at all, - and only if I volume up on the pedal does it start to sound like there is tremolo happening. So put the tremolo block after the foot pedal in my signal path. This is also happening with an EQ block I am using. If I set the Graphic 10 Band EQ where I like it at say 70% on my volume pedal, - when I turn the volume pedal down - it starts to sound super mid-rangy. Where can I place the volume pedal (or how do I set it up) so it makes everything sound exactly the same, but just a louder or quieter?
  18. Hi, I’m looking at replacing my original cable that connects my fbv express mkii pedal to my Spider V 240 head as Iv recently broken the clip on the rj45 connector and also noticed the plastic cable sleeve beginning to split due to wear and tear, exposing the inner wires. The writing on the cable itself says it’s a Cat5e cable and iv looked at the wiring pins/colours and know it’s a straight type, not a crossover type. My question is can I use a Cat6 cable to replace the cat5e? Iv heard that using the wrong cable can kill the amp and/or pedal. I’m looking at getting a nylon/flat cable for more durability instead of the cheaper hard plastic ones but can only find these types for Cat6 upwards. thanks scott
  19. Hi all! Just a quick question: is it possible to assign an expression pedal to control, for example, the volume, in a snapshot, and change the function of that very expression pedal in another snapshot, for example, a wah control?
  20. Hey guys, I was just wondering (and hoping this wasn't answered already) if it is possible to save a single effect(pedal) as a global preset/instance to be able to quickly recall it in different pedalboard presets. I am thinking of it as having your favorite physical guitar pedal with very specific settings of the knobs. Or a fx plugin chain in your favorite DAW that you always use. Maybe it could be reached through your standard effect selection path? Thanks
  21. I have a PODhd500x. My expression pedal doesn't function. I have rested global settings. I have updated firmware and flash memory. I have calibrated the pedal and pedal calibration says 'F'. What could be wrong and someone please tell how to fix it? I live in a place where there are no service centres close by. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
  22. I Everyone, this is my first post I'm Italian, sorry for the bad english ;-) the question is: Is it possible to use the HX Stomp as a controller for an exteral midi pedal switcher (like the disaster area dpc8ez) as described below? My goal is to set the unit always in snapshot mode, using a snapshot bank per song and the corrisponding 3 snapshot for the sections of the song (verse-chorus-solo/special) I want to use the unit solely for modulation, reverbs, delays and eventually amp simulation, using the dpc8ez (or other midi pedals switcher) as a controller for 3/4 analog drive pedals combination. So...can I assign each button for recalling a snapshot AND a preset on the pedal swicther? Example of a song/snapshot bank: - snapshot/switch n 1: no pedals from the switcher + some effects from the hx - snapshot/switch n 2: preset 1 on the pedal switcher and no effects from the hx - snapshot/switch n 3: preset 4 on the pedal switcher + some effects from the hx thanks in advance to everyone ciao from italy Teo
  23. I've been watching people set up some high gain tones by putting a pedal before the amp with the drive turned almost all the way down and the volume/bright all the way up. I have mostly seen this done with tube amps. Not sure about solid state. Either way, has anyone tried setting something up like this on the HD500X? If so, what do you guys think? Does it work about the same?
  24. I've fallen in love with the 'Alpha Haunt' by Old Blood Noise Endeavours. But it's quite expensive after international shipping and the currency change. I want to try replicating it in the Helix, but I'm pretty new to Fuzz tones (mostly been an OD guy) and haven't done a good job so far. Who can help me get a preset together that works like the Alpha Haunt? PEDAL DEMO .
  25. Hey everyone, I find it difficult to adjust the overall output volume as I create my chain. Do you find best to start with your master output at 12 o'clock or at MAX? Pros & Cons?
