  1. Hello, I use Line 6 UX2 with Podfarm as software to play my guitar. So this is how I usually connect: Guitar -> UX2 -> Computer (Podfarm) | Headphones Now I bought a Loop pedal and I do this: Guitar -> Loop Pedal -> UX2 -> Computer (Podfarm) | Headphones And it works perfectly fine! No delay or whatsoever. My question is whenever I play something, let's say Am C D F as a loop with CLEAN sound and then on my Layer 2 want to play solo over this, and click "Pedal ON" on my Podfarm the Layer 1 also changes. So how do I solve this problem? I want to be able to: Layer 1. Clean acoustic sound, looping! Layer 2. Distortion Solo. Layer 3. Another sound etc. So how do I do this with the UX2? Please help.
  2. Hi everyone, I have an Amplifi 150 and i kinda love the guitar effects and was considering to buy a pedal footswitch to control its effects. Which pedal is better suited/your preference while using it with an AMplifi? FBV Shortboard MKII or FBV 3? I noted that the FBV 3 has some features (E.g. Programmable lights) Which are not compatible with Amplifi 150. FBVShortboard MKII: https://line6.com/foot-controllers/fbv-shortboard-mkii FBV 3: https://line6.com/foot-controllers/fbv3 Thanks!
  3. Deutsch Français If the Onboard expression pedal of the POD HD500 does not sweep through parameter values as it normally would, you may need to perform a pedal calibration to reset the functionality of the expression pedal: Hold the down the RIGHT ARROW button on the 4 Way Nav Pad while powering the unit on, until you see the Test Mode screen (Pedal Cal, etc.), and then proceed with the steps below: If not already selected, use on the 4 Way Nav Pad to select Pedal Cal as shown above. Press the VIEW button. Set the pedal to the minimum "heel" position, then press the A footswitch to set a value for the Duty Cycle. You'll see the value set to "100". Set the pedal to the maximum "toe" position, then press the B footswitch to set a value for the Duty Cycle. Again, you'll see the value set to "100",as in step 3. Press the C footswitch to prepare for automatic selection of the Scaled Pedal Value and move the pedal from min. to max. You should see the Scaled Pedal Values read "0" at the heel position and "255" and the toe position. If you get values other than 0 and 255, power off and repeat these steps, starting at step 1. Press the D footswitch to save the settings. You be returned to the Test Mode screen and the Pedal Cal item will show to indicated that the pedal calibration is complete! Power your device off and back on again to start using it. ***Please Note: Re-calibration of the POD HD500's expression pedal is necessary after performing a Global Settings reset. Instructions for how to perform a Global Settings reset is available here. 4. Hello, I've tried searching for an answer for this but haven't had any luck. I have an hd500x with a dual signal path setup. Currently, I'm using one of the regular switches to switch between the clean amp and the treadplate amp- there is a noticeable lag/cutoff when I do this and I don't want to use it with that present. I downloaded a preset not too long ago that uses the expression pedal to make this same transition in a more seamless manner, I just can't figure out how to do it in the edit program. Basically, I want to avoid this lag that I currently have. If there are other ways to do minimize this issue I'll take tips/advice too. Thanks!
  5. Hey guys, I'm coming up on my ninth month with this fantastic beast, but I have never used the built-in expression pedal. It has always been rough, stiff and useless. A lot of people have told to use a hex key on the right side of the Helix, but every time I have done that, it only seems to move the expression pedal the way that I turn it, not loosening or tightening it. Is there any way to do get around this? I could always try being rougher, but I do not want to wreck this amazing board. Thanks in advance.
  6. Hello, everyone! I'm about to purchase the Amplifi 75 as a home training/jamming amp. I'm so used to using pedals to control everything that I also considered purchasing a pedal along with it. There I'm kind of lost. Is the FX100 compatible? Can I plug it to the amp and control stuff from it or is it standalone? I've seen videos about the shortboard mkII, and none about the A75 and fx100 combo, leading me to doubt the interoperability. Thank you for your help!
  7. Got my Helix today from Reverb.com (bought it used). Love it, but realized that I have a really squeaky and stiff pedal. With my purchase, I do not have the original receipt. Frank R. via email said if there is any warranty left they would transfer it to me - still waiting to hear back on that if there is any left. I am wondering what is the easiest way to solve the squeak without really tearing the unit apart. I live quite far from any authorized service centers. I am wondering too, if my unit has the black washers, is it even worth just trying to fix myself or should they be replaced? If anyone has an earlier unit with the black washers and was able to remedy the issue without taking it apart I would love to get some step by step instructions. I read some past posts but it didn't seem clear how to approach the pedal with lubricant (white lithium grease, triflow, etc) while its still attached, although loosened.
  8. Does anyone know if it's possible to configure the PodXT live so that if I turn on one effect, say my amp, that it will turn off my delay (or other effect)? What I'm wanting essentially is when I turn on my delay, it goes turns off my amp effect, and when I turn on my amp effect, it will turn off my delay. So, "clean with delay" and "distortion without delay" Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!
  9. If your Helix pedal squeaks or is loose and using the Allen wrench won't help, DON'T spray anything into your Helix. Instead, see this article's instructions and video: Please be aware that this is NOT for the Helix LT.
  10. I have recently purchased a line6 MP multi-pedal. Recently the 2 far left buttons (above and below each other) do not work when I press them. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks
  11. If you're using the FBV 3, or the FBV Shortboard MKII with the Spider V series, you have the option of utilizing an external expression pedal. The external pedal would be plugged into the EXP Pedal jack on the FBV. This is how they interact with the Spider V's patches. On patches without tweak assign to pedal, the external pedal becomes volume, the on-board pedal controls wah position, and toe switch toggles wah bypass. On patches with tweak assigned to pedal, the external pedal controls the tweak-assigned parameter. The on-board pedal controls volume and wah, and the toe switch toggles between wah and volume control.
(Google translate) Hello people!, recently my brother bought the HD400 and this happened: Yesterday I was playing for a while and the only thing I did was change presets with the buttons up and down, later, the presets don't sound. Some of them was heard but it was because the Wah was activated. Entering other questions I fixed the calibration of the pedal, and it turns out that the pedal itself is not working. When I calibrate it, I press the foot switch and the next step I have to put it in the minimum and then at the maximum, it does not. Then when I change the preset the volume is always at a minimum, because the pedalboard is not taking the pedal operation :S Any solution? I Update the firmware, then restore the factory and then the caliber. Gracias, espero tener ayuda! Thanks!
  13. Hi guys, During my rehearsal last night I step into a switch and couldn`t came back to stomp mode, can somebody help me with that..? does anybody know why this happened..? thank you..!!
  14. Hello, This is the first time I've posted to this forum. We've had a Spider IV 30 for about 2 years. It has the 4 channel foot pedal that comes with it. We don't drive the thing hard at all. Recently, after playing for 10-15 minutes, it goes a bit haywire. Spontaneously, the effect light and channel light will start to toggle and the effect might even change. We've been able to see that it only happens when the pedal is plugged in. I've changed the Ethernet cable and it still happens. It is not that the thing spontaneously changes channels. Say you are on channel A which is programmed to Insane. What happens is the effect will change to Clean and that light will come on, the channel A light will go off, then it will go back on. If you power cycle, everything is okay for a bit. Help, is the pedal dead already? Tom
  15. I just got my Firehawk 1500 and FBV 3 controller. Everything is great so far but I am having a problem. I can rock the volume pedal to its minimum setting but if I change channels, the volume pedal setting is reset and the new channel plays at normal volume. Is there a way to make the volume pedal "global" so that changing channels does not override the volume pedal setting? Thank you. Steve Lockridge
  16. Hi all! I've recently been experimenting with different options for an external exp pedal for my hd500x. I've tried both the EX1 line 6 pedal, and the mission engineering pedal. The ex1 lasted for only about a dozen gigs and rehearsals, then failed and was unfixable. I'm heavy footed and gig alot (80-100 gigs and rehearsals a year average) so the ex1 is not an option. The mission pedal is a much better pedal overall, but I don't like the travel of the pedal to use as a volume. Basically, neither of these work for me, and I'm not interested in an external wah. The on board exp pedal is currently doing triple duty as my volume, wah and whammy controller. I would like to free it up for mostly just wah and whammy; the external pedal will take over volume control duties. The primary function of the external exp pedal will be for min/max volume control in a live setting; mostly for rhythm to lead volume, and occasionally for fx control. I've been checking the forum archives and have seen that some folks have used other brands of expression pedals with varying degrees of success, such as the Boss fv500 series, etc. Anyone here have any experience using other expression pedals besides the ex1 or the mission? Any info will be much appreciated. Thanks!
  17. Anybody else run into this? Just recently the expression function of my pedal on my 6 year old MkII shortboard quit working. When it's in volume mode about half the time the light doesn't even come on, but there is no volume at all regardless of whether the light is on or not. The wah on/off switch works, but there is no expression throughout the range of the pedal in that setting either. I've tried running the pedal calibration procedure, but the board doesn't recognize any motion in the pedal. When I press the "D" button to move on to the second step, nothing happens and I just have to power back off and on, then play with the wah switch on. This cropped up right before a gig so I had to get creative in volume control throughout the night. Nothing like a little added pressure, eh? Is there a fix for this or will I have to buy a new board? Thanks. Hoop
  18. Hello Line6 forum, I'm Phil from Lunatic Man's Dream!. I am looking for a effect unit that can deliver the following specs: - Wahwah sound controllable via expression pedal. So I don't need to run audio cable to my pedalboard but only control cables to switch my rack. - I want to be able, to turn that effect off by putting the pedal to "zero-position" OR by an integrated footswitch(like in Dunlop pedals). Depending on the way, the unit makes that possible, I choose a fitting expression pedal. Does the M5 work this way or do i have to programm special midi presets for having the wah turned on or off? Best regards, Phil
  19. I tend to use the Exp2 for Volume/Pan as a master volume when live. When I switch between patches, the volume parameter is at whatever position the patch was Saved as, NOT the actual position of the pedal. So if I heel down to take volume to 0%, and then switch to a new patch that was saved with the Volume parameter at 100%, the volume is up even though the pedal is down. This is infuriating, especially if changing out guitars on stage and you want to be sure the volume is down. Alternatively, if the patch is Saved with the volume parameter at 0%, and I switch patches mid-song with the pedal up (toe), I have to rock the pedal down and up to get the volume up. It didn't work this way with previous HD500 and PODs. Is there a way to fix this? Can you make the patch read the actual position of the pedal?
  20. Have a problem with calibrating pedal on AMPLIFi fx100. I followed the instructions in this video When i moved the pedal to the toe position and pressed the display have not change number on the display to "2". (from this instruction http://line6.com/support/page/kb/_/amplifi-products/fx100/amplifi-fx100-post-update-reset-and-pedal-calib-r645 ) Before i made firmware update to the latest version and factory reset. Was my previous steps correct? And there is one more trouble with wah/volume pedal- it's going hardly while i change position. Also have a problem with bluetooth. I am using android 4.2.1 device. After pairing fx100 with my device i opened AMPLIFI REMOTE app, but i am always have a message " amlifi lost data connection ". Some times it's working only in tone editor (no tuner, levels and etc). Application don't see my amplifi and says "none". I will appreciate for any help. P.S. Sorry for my english.
  21. As the title mentioned, can AMPLIFi tt use fbv2 pedal board to switch tones? I usually use a high gain tone and a clean tone, when I play a song, sometimes I need to switch them during the play, so I wonder if I can us FBV2 to switch them. Anyone done this before? Thank u :)
  22. Don't do anything! It auto calibrates. If you're having trouble getting the pedal to stay at 0% it might be due to the tension being too loose. Try tightening it with the provided hex wrench.
  23. Hi fellow Line 6 owners, I purchased an hd500x several months ago for live use as the lead guitar player at our local church. I am very very impressed with the hd500x. It is by far the best multi fx unit I've had the pleasure of using. After searching multiple forums/posts I've come to you veterans for any advice or experience that you would be so kind to offer. I use the line 6 ex-1 exp pedal for volume and swells. I run it into the hd500x's "Pedal 2" input. It has great sound, but as many players have found, it isn't very good in the pedal-travel and durability department. So I thought, I'm gonna buy a heavier volume pedal with better travel/volume ratio. So after several hours of research I decided to try the Morley PVO+ Volume Plus Pedal. My error, I've found, is that it isn't compatible when plugged into the "Pedal 2" input on the hd500x. So I tried running my guitar into the morley, then from the morley into to the "guitar in" input on the hd500x. It works, but with inferior sound quality as compared to the ex-1 (Pedal 2 input). Not to mention I'm not impressed with it's volume taper, even after being "adjusted" multiple times with indiscernible results. So, my dilemma lies in finding a new external pedal to run into the (Pedal 2) input for volume and swells. Does anyone know of any well built pedals that are "compatible" to our beloved hd500x and its software? Any owners out there with success using other brands of volume or exp pedals in the (Pedal 2) input? I've read the forums and only found the Mission Engineering EP1-L6 For Line 6. Its nice and all, but $130? If that is my only option I'm inclined to stick with the ex-1. Thank you for patiently reading my lengthy post. Any advice or shared experiences would be very valuable to me as well as greatly appreciated. Sincerely, kkaustin
  24. Hi, I've been a BOSS user for the past 10 years, mastering every aspect Of the GT MultiFX line. I'm in the process of transitioning to The HD500x to expand and experiment with the LINE6 workflow. I bought one already but it won't arrive until next week. I would like to know if it's possible to attach a dual footswitch. According to the manual, I can plug an expression pedal into the "pedal 2" jack, but I don't need another one besides the built-in EXP. In the past, I used to plug a BOSS FS6 via TRS cable to the "CTL1,2/EXP" jack of the GT8, allowing me to freely program parameters to either of the footswitch buttons (labeled CTL 1 and 2 in the system). The GT8 allowed me to assign modes: latching or unlatching –to operate as on/off for effects– or min/max for specific parameter jumps. I believe the POD allows similar functionalities with the top row switches; nevertheless, I would want to use the BOSS FS6 with the HD500X. Has anyone done this?
  25. Hello everyone, Hope you enjoy your wonderful Helix like I do! My question is how to use the blocks? I mean I don't know do I have to place Compressor before or after distortion? wah pedal before or after Amp?! Is there any rule for pacing these stuff to get a better sound? Thanks in advance
