I was able to do this in the past, but have obviously forgotten some key element. I have a straight-through stomp-box configuration with no amp models. The signal chain is: Tube Compressor -> Conductor -> Chorus -> Distortion (several) I've had this in place for a while, but noticed that while I can activate the Conductor using the toe switch, moving the pedal does not do anything. This may have been something new in firmware -- I've updated that more recently than this patch. The L6 factory presets still work fine with the pedal and effect. Any help on what I may have done wrong is appreciated. The Conductor is set at 100% mix and the controller uses the toe switch to activate and the pedal position to control the effect 0-100%. Thanks!

So the helix has two exp jacks on the back. On my MFC-101 (Axefx) I have an Erine Ball vp Jr. That I modified to have a Mission latching switch so I can engage/disengage my wah but I need two expression jacks to utilize the Axefx wah function: one switch for engage and one switch for wah sweep. Am I going to need both of Helix exp jacks just for a wah? I'm going to try to use the onboard exp first but I am imagining not liking it because it's on the right side of the board and it seems kinda ...petite... It would be very cool to have a left footed version of this beast! I know it's maybe wired but I simply prefer my left foot for vol.wah.exp.whammy.... Thanks!

Hi everyone, I'm still reasonably new to the Line 6 world so bear with me. I have a AMPLIFi 150 and a Shortboard MKII which I use when my iPad isn't nearby to switch between presets, etc. My question is, can I use a Mission Engineering Expression pedal (say as a wah?) with the AMPLIFi + shortboard? I have it attached to the MKII but I don't know how (or if?) the AMPLIFi will recognize it? Thanks! -
Hi folks, I followed all the instructions (both video and manual) from Line6 and yt and I'm nowhere near to be able to control pitch shift (like Whammy) or Wah pedal in my chain of effects. What I do: 1. Put Wah pedal in chain of my preset, enter the switch assignment options and choose toe pedal to control wah effect 2. Result: effect is always on, and moving the expression pedal doesn't change anything In pre-made presets however I do can control volume level of some presets, and I also can control VOL level in my own made preset. I did calibrated pedal before using the POD HD500X What Am I possibly doing wrong?

Is there a way to set up the wah pedal on the pod HD500 to "switch" like a morley wah? i.e. toe up equals off, slight toe down movement turns it on then full sweep from the "on" point. Thanks!

My HD500 is connected to a PA system (with power amplification) via XLR cables, and the other day, the HD500 failed to put create an output signal. The only difference I saw between the time it was working and now is that both of the EXP LED's are lit next to the pedal instead of just one. Pressing on the pedal to try to alternate EXP modes does nothing. I would greatly appreciate any help! Thank you, Jon

Is there a good, reliable expression pedal made by a 3rd party that works well with the PODs? It's not critical that I get one before this weekend, but I would like to if possible, and none of the local places sell the Line 6 add-on pedal. I don't have time to order one from Amazon by then, either. What are some other brand external expression pedals I could look into at a Guitar Center or some place like that?

I'm really getting mad... how can I control the looper output volume using the expression pedal? This works fine in M9 but I do not find a way to assign the looper output volume to the exp2. I want to fade out the loop but of course keep the overall output. What am I missing?

I am having problem adding a volume pedal and a wah pedal to my patch. In the HD500 edit software, on the controllers page I have the Volume Pedal set to EXP Toe switch....EXP-1....0%min and 10%max. I have the Vetta Wah set to EXP Toe switch.....EXP 2.....0%min and 100%max. However they do not work correctly. When I use the board, on EXP-2 I go no wah effect and on EXP-1 my tone completely changes to a right high chimey tome. I thought I had everything set correctly on the software but no matter what I do I can not get the Wah to work or the pedal to work and no change the tone..........What am I missing??

OK so here is my first official problem with my HD-500. (That I bought the first month they were available) I can no longer use the toe switch to select between exp-1 and exp-2. It had been getting more and more difficult to get it to actually click and now it is not operative at all. I wonder if there is some type of solution that doesn't involve taking it to be repaired. Does gunk or dust collect that can be blown out? Is this a ridiculous and wholly idiotic question? (well maybe that was overstating it, but you get the point... :) Thanks for any help you may be able to share.

I'm a new HD500X user, and I have some problems since I loaded Paul Hindmarsh's excellent patch-pack. http://www.paulhindmarshmusic.com/#!line-6/c1n0o The Volume-Pedal is out of work, and most of the distortion/overdrive sounds sounding very bad, having some kind of unwanted distortion or clipping. The cleaner sounds are brilliant... Has anybody an idea what's wrong ? thanks, Toddi from germany

My pedal has stopped working for volume control on my hd400. The way still works but volume doesn't. I have done a factory reset and have calibrated the pedal. Anything else I should be trying?

Hi there. I couldnt find an answer to my problem on the web so im asking here now. My X3L's expression pedal stopped working. Since im out of warranty, i opened it and checked for solder problems and also cleaned the sensors, all seems fine. Then i rememberd that theres the Safe Mode with pedal calibration, so i fired it up and to my surprise the pedal worked, as in i was able to calibrate it (it goes smoothly from 0-255) and it also showed the "P" for passed settings (i think?) However, it doesnt do a thing in normal mode, neither in Wah, Volume nor Tweak mode. It also doesnt switch the Wah/Vol LEDs when using the toe switch, but im not to sure if it even does that in the first place since i only use it in Tweak mode. I already tried it with factory resets + firmware rollbacks. I dont really know what else i could try. Do i have to save/apply the changes i made in Safe Mode, appart from saving the calibration itself with the D stomp knob? Would be nice if someone could suggest anything, or maybe even had this problem before and solved it. Thanks.

I bought the FBV Express Mk II for my son about a month or so ago. It works fine in terms of sound, but it has an annoying squeak when he works the Wah pedal. Our usual solution is to crank the volume up but I kinda think this should only be temporary. :) If it's just a case of lubing the shims on the pedal shaft/axle I'm happy to do that provided it won't invalidate the warranty. Or does this indicate a fault and I should return it for a replacement? Amazon are usually pretty good with that sort of thing. It just seems a bit unnecessary if it's just some dry surface friction. Does the Ernie Ball VP JR work with the HD500 as the second expression pedal? I was able to get it to work with my old Line 6 M13 I just had to plug it through the output of the JP JR (not the input). I tried searching this forum, but couldn't find an answer. If it doesn't I may have to purchase a Mission Engineering pedal. Thank you in advance for your help!

I just thought of it yesterday, as I was thinking as well of the durability of the HD500. I honestly don't know much of it, but I know most wah pedals are optical since older ones seemed to use some kind of pot and they would wear out often. I'd like to know what kind of system the expression pedal uses so I know the life expectancy of it.

Hello, Could you tell me how to connect an additional distorsion pedal (Satchurator) with the pod HD500 and the DT25? Right after the guitar and then in front of the Pod using the link 6 to connect the pod to the DT25? Or should i use the 4 cables method ? Ty ;)

I am trying to set up an external pedal to control the tap delay. Whenever I play live, the clicking noise from the foot switches gets amplified in everyone's monitor. It is not really a problem except for when I need to tap in my delays since you have to tap several times to get it in tempo. It may be an external mic that is picking up my switches, but I figured the easiest thing would be to just plug in an external pedal that is quieter. I have plugged in a down=on up=off switch from my keyboard. I expected this to work, but it doesn't. Any ideas? Is this even possible?

Hi, I have a podUX1 with PODFARM2, I designed a preset for a cool VanHalen tone with soldano, compressor, tubescreamer, chorus, plate and short delay. I wonder if a solution exists to bring the preset onstage (in an hardware pedal for example). I don't care of the amp simulation, I would like to have the chorus, plate and delay only in the same pedal and not necessary change the settings of each effect. To summarize, the pedal with only a footswitch which has the settings predefined (for the VH tone I love :D). An analogic solution will not be very accurate and programm a DSP for a numerical solution seems to be really hard to emulate the same tone of podfarm :(. I hope someone has an answer... I own an old ver 2.0 POD and am looking to buy a used fb4 footboard. There is no cable with it - is this just a standard rj45 cable, or is there a special Line 6 cable?

I recently bought a hd500 (last sept 30, 2013), and it was great. The pedal works the 1st time I used it, but after few days, it's not working anymore. At first, most of the preloaded effects doesn't work, but some effects works, I thought i changed something in the settings. Now i tried creating a new tone, it worked, then I added a pedal wah/volume, now it doesn't work. I tried calibrating the pedal (as for the user manual), it says that in heel, it must be 0, and toe must be on 255. But it doesn't change, I can only see 0, that I concluded that the pedal is broken. Can someone help me? I tried to submit a ticket, but i also thought of posting it here. Thanks in advanced
