  1. Hi! I wonder if someone knows about why we can't expand the one-size only plugin window. There's a lot of options in it but nothing to resize. Even a 'fullscreen icon' is there on the right corner but it's blank and unclickable. Would there be an update ?
  2. What is the Metallurgy Collection? The MetallurgyTM Collection of amplifier and effects plugins was created specifically for guitarists who wish to quickly and easily access contemporary versions of classic and modern metal tones—as well as craft original tones of their own. The Collection bundles the Modern, Thrash, and Doom plugins, which are also available individually. The Metallurgy Collection plugins feature amplifier and effects models drawn from the award-winning HX® family of products. How many amp models per plugin? Each Metallurgy plugin features four amplifier models carefully chosen to deliver a full range of genre-specific tones. What kind of effects are included? Pre-amplifier Effects Each Metallurgy plugin features 3 (or more) mono. style-specific effects, as well as a polyphonic capo, that can be used before the amp in the signal chain. Post-amplifier Effects Each Metallurgy plugin features two stereo, style-specific effects that may be used after the amp in the signal chain. What about Cabinets, Microphones, and IRs? Each Metallurgy plugin features a choice of eight speaker cabinets and eight microphones, all based on IRs. Two mics may be selected and combined with a stereo room mic array, and up to two third-party Impulse Responses (IRs) may be substituted for the factory mics. Once you’ve logged in and authorized your Metallurgy software, IRs purchased from the Line 6 Marketplace on the same account will be made available in Metallurgy. Can I automate parameters in the Metallurgy Collection? Yes. Nearly every parameter in the Metallurgy Collection can be automated. Does the Metallurgy Collection support MIDI parameter control? Yes, nearly every parameter in the Metallurgy Collection can be controlled via MIDI CC. Is amp switching and amp bypassing via MIDI Learn or automation available? Switching channels via midi/automation is not available because the plugin would have to load the DSP of the alternate channel – which is essentially another model being loaded. Changing amp models in general is not supported via midi and automation. You can bypass an amp model and its DSP by disabling (bypassing) the amp view in the top toolbar. That also is not supported via midi learn or automation. There are other ways to bypass/mute that are midi/automation supported within the cab view’s mixer. Is the UI resizable? Not at launch. We’re working on it. Does the Metallurgy Collection support Retina displays (2x resolution)? Yes. The Metallurgy Collection includes Retina support. Is there Undo/Redo functionality? Yes, Undo/Redo is included at launch, along with A/B Compare. Does the Metallurgy Collection have a built-in tuner? Yes, it does include a chromatic tuner. Will there be a standalone version? Yes, each plugin includes standalone functionality. Are there any artist presets? Not at launch. 4. Hello all, Currently I am using an HX effects into an amp. Because I registrered the HX, I got a nice discount on Helix Native. Combined with cyber monday, it was a nice deal. I initially bought Native just for recording stuff, but now that I've experienced the full range of Helix soundscaping, I am thinking about using Native live. To do that, I need an audio interface (already have one), a midi controller (HX Effects could double as one) and a host for the Native plugin. Currently I am using Reaper, but I have read about programs that transform Native into a standalone plugin. VSTHost/Savihost for example. My question: does anyone have good experiences using Native live with either a DAW or another type of host? I already read some sparse info on using midi commands within Reaper, but it seems better to use another type of host that might require less CPU usage than a full-on DAW. Is there a host-type of program that includes midi-commands? I only need to be able to switch between snapshots. Hopefully you guys can help me out.

    Echo Farm Operation

All the Echo Farm knob controls are designed to be adjusted using a straight left-to-right or up-and-down mouse motion. Click on any knob and drag to the left or down to lower the parameter's value. Drag to the right or up to increase the value. For best results, avoid clicking and dragging a knob in a circular motion. TIP: For most knob controls, simply double-click directly on the knob itself to reset it to its default value. The Echo Farm buttons are generally configured for single-click operation. Click on a button to change the parameter to its opposite state, and click again to change it back. The exception is the Note button; click and hold on the Note button for a pop-up selection and choose the desired note division value. Additional model-specific details follow on the next few pages. 1. Echo Model Menu This is where you select the echo model you would like Echo Farm to use. 2. Echo Model Info Button (the question mark button) - Click for additional details and to get a peek at the inspiration for the currently selected model. 3. Delay Time Knob and Display Use to set the delay time, or simply click on the display and type in a numerical value (displayed in milliseconds). 4. BPM Tempo Display In addition to the Delay Time controls, you can alternatively set the delay time by entering the tempo (Beats Per Minute) of your tune. Or, click the little lock icon to the left of the Tempo title to sync to the session timeline tempo. Never worry again about your delay repeats falling out of sync! 6 NOTE: The BPM Display becomes grayed out and inactive when you enter a delay time using the Delay Time knob. Type in a delay time value in the millisecond box or tap in the desired delay time with the Tap button. Use the Pro Tools Plug-In Automation options if you need to set Echo Farm to change tempos to follow your music while using this Delay Time mode. 5. Note Value Buttons Here you can select a note value to set the delay time. Simply use the BPM Tempo display (or the Tap button) to enter the tempo of your song, then select a note division value from the Note button menu (click and hold on the Note button to pop-up this menu). The buttons to the right of the note value allow you to modify your selection to become a triplet or dotted value. 6. Tap Button You can click on this button a few times to set your delay time. The BPM display will then be grayed out to let you know that your delay time no longer matches whatever BPM tempo you may have chosen. 7. Time Ramp Button This button lets you choose what is heard when you make changes to the Echo Farm delay time. With a realworld tape echo, speed changes are made by moving a tape head's position or varying the speed of a tape transport motor. As a result, time changes are smooth, with an audible "pitch-schmearing" effect (yes, this is a highly technical expression) which is part of a great tape delay's magic. That's the experience you'll get with this button on. If you want to immediately switch from one delay time to another, without any audible pitch-schmearing effect, click this button off. This is a handy control to use with the Pro Tools Plug-In Automation functions, allowing you to mix and match time ramping and immediate time changes within your session. 8. Pro Tools Plug-in Controls These top panel options are provided by the Pro Tools host application for effects plug-ins, offering preset selection, bypass, automation options and more. Please refer to your Pro Tools documentation for details. 9. Model-Specific Knobs The controls that appear within this row for each particular echo model are designed to emulate the functionality of the similarly-labeled knobs, switches, and jacks on the original units we modeled. For each model, two model-specific parameters (typically the two left knobs) are mapped to the Control 1 and Control 2 items in the Pro Tools Plug-In Automation dialog. Within the on-screen display graphics, Control 1 is always the left extra function for that model, and Control 2 is the right one. For example, in the Maestro EP-3 model, the Bass and Treble knobs correspond to Control 1 and Control 2, respectively. The following table summarizes the Control 1 & Control 2 assignments for all models: All information is taken from the Echo Farm 3.0 manual located here: http://line6.com/data/6/0a020a3de280588aa57190e8e/application/pdf/Echo%20Farm%203.0%20Pilot's%20Guide%20%20-%20English%20.pdf
  23. What is Echo Farm 3.0 ? Echo Farm is a 64-bit delay modeler plug-in for the Pro Tools 11+ AAX Native platform. It offers 12 different delay models based on a combination of actual hardware devices and Line 6 originals and provides simple and effective controls for delay time, repeats, and other specialized parameters, such as magnetic head pattern or bit reduction. Echo Farm was introduced in the year 2000 as a Pro Tools TDM plug-in and became extremely popular, used on a multitude of award-winning records and soundtracks. Due to popular demand, we now make Echo Farm available as an AAX Native plug-in. When will Echo Farm be available and how much will it cost? Echo Farm 3.0 is available now through the Line 6 online store. The standard AAX license costs $199. What are the OS requirements? Mac OS Mountain Lion version 10.8.3 and higher Windows 7 and higher Is there an upgrade path to the AAX version? Yes there is, for registered 2.x TDM owners. The upgrade from 2.x TDM to 3.0 AAX costs $49. Both the 2.x TDM and the 3.0 AAX Echo Farm licenses need to be associated with the same iLok account for the upgrade to work. Will I have to surrender my Echo Farm TDM license when I activate the AAX license? Yes, the TDM license will be surrendered and voided when the AAX license is activated. This is irreversible. The AAX license will not authorize the TDM plugin. How can I tell if I own the 2.x TDM version? If you can see an Echo Farm license in the iLok License Manager program, you qualify. From Digidesign's archive: Echo Farm 2.0 or higher requires iLok authorization Beginning in December, 2002, all registered Echo Farm owners that purchased the older retail version of Echo Farm that shipped with floppy key disk authorizations were automatically sent Echo Farm 2.0 update kits with the installer CD and an iLok License Card. Is an iLok device required to use Echo Farm 3.0? Yes, it requires a version 2 or version 3 iLok device. Echo Farm 3.0 cannot use your computer alone as an authorizing device. Can I try it before I buy it? Yes. A time-limited demo version of Echo Farm 3.0 can be activated at line6.com/ilok. What changed in Echo Farm between the TDM and AAX version? Are there any new delay models? Our design goal was to provide 100% session compatibility and ensure that older projects open smoothly in Pro Tools 11 and higher. For this reason, we kept the Echo Farm AAX feature set unchanged from the TDM version. However, the AAX version now supports sampling rates up to 192 kHz, which was not possible with the older TDM version. What are your plans for an AAX DSP version of Echo Farm? We plan to release the plug-in on the AAX Native platform initially and evaluate demand for AAX DSP subsequently. Will Echo Farm AAX work with Pro Tools 10? Echo Farm AAX is a 64-bit plug-in and thus requires Pro Tools 11 or higher to function. What about Amp Farm? Will you port Amp Farm to AAX, too? Absolutely. We plan to make Amp Farm available for the AAX platform after the release of Echo Farm. At this time, we cannot comment on specifics related to pricing or availability.
  24. I would like to record clean guitar and bass lines and then add effects afterwards. I have always recorded the wet signal however sometimes when I play it back I am not 100% happy with the sound, meaning I have to re-record the whole thing again. I know Ableton has effects that can be added on post-recording but frankly they are not as good as those available in POD Farm (I am using version 1.12 by the way through a POD Studio UX1). I have tried directing the MIDI folder to the VST folder in the POD Farm programme file file but Ableton does not show anything there, whereas I have downloaded some after market Plugins to a different folder and it sees them fine. The Ableton version is live lite 8. Can this be done? Thanks, Steve.
  25. Hi all, Creating a thread for this since I don't see it anywhere. My problem is that I want to record two dry guitar tracks and pan them left and right, so I can use my POD farm vst and tweak the settings to get a nice sound. However, when I put the two tracks through the plugin it comes out mono, not stereo :( is there a way around this? I don't want to have to put the guitar tracks on two separate channels and have an instance of POD farm for each of them, and have to tweak both plugins, etc. Please help!!!!
