  1. I have a Windows 7 computer running Cubase 8 Pro and I'm using a Pod HD Pro for guitars. My question is this: Is it possible to set up the Pod HD Pro as the audio interface and use it for zero latency monitoring of my effected signal along with Cubase playback while, at the same time, recording a totally dry signal for reamping later? I would appreciate any help I could get. Thanks,
  2. Hey guys, I'm running a 27-inch late 2012 iMac with MacOS version 10.9.4 (13E28) I installed an update for MacOS a few days ago and noticed that Garageband (and POD HD Pro Edit) no longer recognized my POD HD Pro. When I run Line 6 Monkey it does prompt me to install Drivers version 7.3.6, which I have done two or three times (restarted when prompted at end of installation each time). But once my iMac comes back up and I re-launch Line 6 Monkey, it still shows that I need to install the Drivers update. I'm certain this is the issue seeing as everything was functioning fine prior to the MacOS update, and the Drivers update info even says "This driver adds support for Mac OS X 10.9 Mavericks) Is anyone else having this issue or might happen to know a fix for this? Any and all help is greatly appreciated. -J
  3. New video I just did of Neil Zaza's song In My Dreams. The lead guitar is only the patch I created direct to the Focusrite Scarlett 2i2. You can download the tone here: http://line6.com/customtone/tone/608051/ The backing track and tab were purchased at www.neilzaza.com.
  4. Hey so I'm new when it comes too gear, recording and stuff thought you guys could help me out. So i have a pod hd pro that i use as a audio interface and dial my tones and record directly to my daw. I've had some latency issues and sometimes it would bug if i used it as my playback device. So i got an scarlett 2i2 that i wanna use that as my audio interface and use the pod the same way i normally do. Is it possible? if so how do get it to work? I figured i would use the unballanced out but I don't get any signal tried with both xlr and trs cables i only managed to get sound from the dry out.
  5. Hi everyone, I added a Voodoo Lab GCX to my rig and I'm experimenting with using my FBV Shortboard MKII to send it MIDI control change messages through the POD HD Pro. I have it working where I can hit my FS1 button to toggle Controller #80 on or off through channel 16. The only thing that needs improvement is I was wondering if it would be possible to have the LED on the FS1 stay on when the value is 127 (On) and have it off when I toggle the button again. Is this doable? Thanks, Anthony
  6. Hi all, I was wondering if any of you are using the tap tempo function with the FCB1010? I've tried and failed multiple times to set this function up. I'm trying to set up Button 10 to send the tap tempo command to the Pod HD Pro X. Can any of you advise how to do this? Many thanks! Ash
  7. 8. Hey guys, kinda at my wits end with this truthfully. I understand that there's been some Windows 8/Pod HD compatibility issues, so I'm trying to get to the bottom of this. Plug in my HD Pro via USB. Reaper volume reads about 50% no matter where the volume knob falls, even though the POD wasn't selected as the MIDI output for the track. Therein lies the problem, I can't seem to get it so the POD is available as an output at all. Updating the POD's flash memory to the current version (2.31) seems to be causing some intermittent BSOD errors. Either the thing is bricked until Line 6 rolls out new drivers/flash/whatever is making this such an issue, or there's some kind of fix to be had. I imagine the fact that it doesn't show up might have something to do with everything not being completely up to date? I did roll the flash back to try that, still no luck. Sorry if this seems a little disjointed, just trying to document my troubleshooting process. Has anyone here had similar issues?
  9. So I'm currently playing through a Pod HD Pro. I was initially able to find some serviceable tones, but was honestly a tad bit discouraged. Then I found out about the "Input 1-Guitar Inputer 2-Variax" thing and holy lollipop, it worked like a charm. However, I stumbled across a thread from someone stating that using this method also lowers the volume. I tested his observation, and found it to be true. I don't quite remember the specifics, but I think it had to do with the Pod's pre-chain area being 2 mono signals rather than 1 stereo. So when you set input 2 to Variax, the Pod somewhat averages the Input 1 signal and Input 2 signal, and since Input 2 is essentially set to 0, the overall signal is reduced. Does anyone have any experience/insight on this matter? Is there a way to get the desired sound of "input 1-guitar input 2-variax" without having the drop in dB? thanks!
  10. Hello everyone, I was wondering if I could use a friend's Pod Floor Plus simply as a footswitch controller on stage for my Pod HD Pro. The things is that I only want the Floor Pod to switch the presets of my HD Pro and to assign the effects to the buttons (as it can eb done in a shortboard MK II). How would it be connected? Thanks in advance to you! :) Xavi
  11. I have a POD HD PRO X and now that I have a tone I'm happy with, I want to run it into a cab. I understand that I need a power amp to do so, and I understand that I use the effects out and in to connect the pod with the power and I use the Pod's own line out into the amp, but how do I control the amp's Ohm impedance so that it matches the cab?
  12. I recently purchased a POD HD PRO, and last night I connected it up to my Macbook Pro, downloaded and installed the latest drivers, flash upgrades etc for the POD HD PRO, and then downloaded POD HD Edit. The program looks all good and well, and a much simpler and efficient way to work on your tones rather than doing it just through the POD HD PRO's interface itself. The only problem is... I can't hear anything... Not a single thing. I've tried all the input modes on POD HD Edit, I've tried reconnecting the unit, I've made sure that all my sound settings on my Macbook are correct. My POD HD PRO is selected as my external sound card input, and I'm just using the built in output. The POD HD PRO is recognising the signal from my guitar, as the built in tuner is working just fine, and my Macbook is recognising the POD HD PRO, because it's transferred all my existing patches that I had previously made. So where am I going wrong...? is it not just as simple as, Plugging in my guitar to my POD HD PRO, plugging in my USB chord from my POD HD PRO to my Macbook's USB 2.0 port, and then letting all the software do the rest? Am I completely missing something? or is there an unknown complex problem at fault? getting an answer ASAP would be greatly appreciated... This is pretty much the reason I bought the POD HD PRO.
  13. I have a Pod hd pro and i'm trying to record the dry output but it's not working can someone please help? I have my guitar plugged into the dry output and the pod is connected to my laptop by usb and in my daw there is no sound or signal.
  14. I'm new to this forum and I hope someone can help. So I'm getting a static/buzz sound when I record with my pod hd pro in GarageBand and Logic. I'm connected via USB and when I physically lay down a guitar track it sounds fine. But when I play the track back there's a static/buzz sound. This happens in both GarageBand and Logic Pro. I've done lots of recording before with the line 6 ux8 and have had no issues with either program. Is there's a problem with my pod? Some help would be much appreciated. Thx
  15. Hello. collegues, I just wonder if setup like this is safe from electrical point of view. I just want to tweak a little bit the knobs, compare the sounds. Also this will allow to have several purpose setup at the same time: You can play and record using POD HD Pro sound, You can reamp from PC, You can play and record using all external hardware. Thank you!
  16. Whenever I use the tap tempo on my FBV Shortboard MKII going into my POD HD Pro, it'll work for a few taps, but then it suddenly maxes out the tempo at 240bpm. I've tried re-installing the flash memory, but the problem persists. Any ideas?
  17. I've got a Peavey 6505+ and I'm wanting to know if I can run my Pod hd pro before and after the actual amp, like I'll explain what I want to do: I want to run the pods effects like comp, gate and things like that before my peaveys pre amp and then run things like delay reverb and eq's n what not after my peaveys pre amp and before the peaveys power amp section So sort of like: Guitar-> pod guitar input (run some fxs)-> Peavey guitar input-> get peavey distortion -> fx loop send of peavey to pod-> pod fx-> pod out to peavey fx loop return-> Power amp output to actual cab. So I won't need to run a amp and cab simulator in the chain on the pod obviously. Anyone able to let me know if I can do this and if so how I would arrange for the pod to put the delay on the fx loop send and returns instead of through the guitar input at the start before the pre amp Thanks in advance!
  18. Hey there, Before i bought a pod hd, i literally crawled through the web to see whether someone has experience in using the pod with a wireless and/or h&k switchblade combo and control everything with an mk2 shortboard. I didn’t find anything usefull so for anyone out there looking for this setup this is for you. First, my signal chain goes like this: >> XLR-Out >> Mic-In POD HD Pro Guitar >> Wireless Shure SLX14 >>FX Return H&K Switchblade Combo 50 (without -10db) >> Unbalanced Out >> LineL/Mono in POD HD Pro The Wireless is at -10db Mic-Input is at 100% (just to make the setup easier) Bass-Reduction is active -20db is active For the standard patches i use mainly only one pre-amp per patch. Several amps have very...i mean very low output (e.g. the VOX AC 30 TB) i try to figure out if this is my error or by design. Any tip is appreciated. The sound? it’s absolutely fantastic. Much more than i was hoping for. It was actually so good, that i put all my effect pedals aside and don't use a 4CM method. I didn't sell them yet, because the pod has to prove itself road-able. It’s in a SKB-Rack with short cables to the wireless, but it has to take some smashing and staking etc. so, we'll see. For high gains i use sometimes up to 2 noise gates (threshold lower than 40% to avoid weird sounds). The Switchblade is just set to the clean channel, with everything turned off, and the B/M/T/G are in middle position. Maybe you add a tick more presence, since this will give some more punch to the tone. And our technician showed me a glorious trick: If you would like to just add gain, but not volume, assign the drive to the exp. Pedal with your desired value in max. and min. then assign the output of the same distortion effect to the same exp. Pedal, but set the max.-value to e.g. 30% and the min. value to e.g. 100%. You need to twiddle a bit so you get the amount right. With that setup, you add gain and lower output and vice versa. Hope this helped. Cheers exile
  19. Hey there guys, brand new here on the forum! I just picked up a Pod HD Pro a few days ago and it's my first rack modeling system, really excited to get deep into all it has to offer! I'm pretty familiar with recording and audio troubleshooting but I've noticed I'm having some weird playback issues. I'm running the HD Pro via USB directly to the computer with 1/4 unbalanced outs to connect to my monitors. I don't seem to have any trouble with the signal going in while playing or recording but when I am playing things back through the monitors I notice some skipping is occurring, sometimes subtle, sometimes quite obviously. Previously I was running an M-Audio Fast Track Pro interface and using the outputs on there for my speakers. I tried using the same 1/4 unbalanced cables and connecting my monitors through that again and I noticed no skipping. I also have the most updated firmware and drivers installed for the HD Pro so I'm not sure where the problem could lie. Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated!
  20. I am looking to invest in PA Speakers to use with m POD HD Pro X. I don't need anything super pricey or powerful, as I don't have too much more money to spend at this point, and I will mostly be playing basement shows, bars, outdoor gigs, etc. for a while. I am a bassist for my band, but I play guitar as well. Guitar Center is selling a Harbinger HA120 Portable PA System for $199.99 (a hundred less than normal) and I want to know if anyone has had experience with these speakers. How is the panning? Are they sufficient for playing in venues that don't have their own PA system? Can you recommend anything better that is in my price range? Unfortunately, I don't know too much about PA systems or their quality. Thanks for the input.
  21. i keep trying to download, or rather "get tone" from custom tone, and it keeps prompting me with "There is no application set to open the document “Streets Have No Name.hre".". Am i missing something simple here? because out of all the tutorials I've seen, the computer recognizes the file as a tone, or whatever. Ive downloaded all i can from line6 monkey. I'm running a mid 2012 MacBookPro with OS X 10.8.5
  22. Hi! I have a simple question that I hope someone can answer for me. I just need a sanity check before sending my Pod HD Pro back to the store. The problem is that when I connect my jtv-89 to my Pod HD Pro using variax interface I get no power to the guitar. Using the battery with the guitar works fine and when I connect the guitar to a Pod X3 Pro (using variax interface), it also works fine. So, are there any special settings on the Pod HD that I need to set or something? I couldn't find any information regarding this in the manual but I just want to make sure I'm not missing something obvious. And yes, I've set input to variax. Thanks! / Mattias
  23. Hi, I'm having a problem connecting my Shortboard to my Pod HD Pro, it simply won't connect. I am using the correct cable but it just won't connect, no lights, no recognition. I know the connector on the HD Pro is working as I can connect my JTV Variax to it and I know the Shortboard is working as it functions perfectly with my Pod X3. I have updated both the Pod HD Pro and the Shortboard via Monkey with the latest firmware. Has anyone else had an issue with this and if so, is there a workaround! Any assistance greatly appreciated. Thanks, Chris
  24. I have a Pod HD Pro set up with my Carvin DCM 200L going into an Orange 4x12 cab and I play pretty heavy metal/high gain type stuff. I'm having an issue with the low end sounding overwhelming or even slightly clipping when I hold a palm muted note. I play an Ibanez RGA8 8 string so naturally there will be a lot of bottom end anyway but it sounds like the tone begins to swell and just overwhelm everything when I hold an open palm mute. I was wondering if its my signal chain or the power amp or the cab or even that's just how the guitar will sound because of the low tuning. Any input will help!
  25. What are the foot controller options for accessing and controlling the looping capabilities of the Pod HD Pro?
