i need some help. my pod xt live starts to restart and crash after some minutes of use. it get's a orange lcd and some leds of the efects ( amp,stomp and mod) are turnning on and off. i did the reflash tutorial but still the same .... if i turn off the pod ...and after some hours turn on again ...it work okay but...just for some minutes. sorry for my english ....hehe -
Is anyone else having trouble with using the Pod XT Live with the new Variax HD update? I just updated, sounds great, directly to amp, however when I run through my XT, the variax setting does not seem to work. Anyone? Such could use some help. -
I'm a line 6 user owner of multiple Variax Guitars, POD's, Amps and other equipment and I find that is not fair that I can't update my POD XT Live because of a ESN verification error. This the 2nd POD XT that has the same problem and the solution from Line 6 is to send it to a repair center. Locally there's no service center and with the first XT I did send it and received an estimate of $75 plus $50 shipping which I decline and went ahead and purchased another XT Live which now has the same problem. I search the forum and the internet and is a common problem with the POD XT's and now the HD500. I haven't found a logical reason for Line 6 to verify the authenticity of the unit because there's no way to clone the device. I would love like to have the POD HD-500 to use with my 4 Variax guitars, but I wont risk my money so to have a product that can't be updated. Line 6, eliminate the verification of the ESN and I know you will have more happy customers. -

Hey peeps, I am new to the HD500 community (bought one last week off ebay), but not new to the Line6 cvommunity. I presently have a POD XT Live and have owned the Spider 1. Here is my question. I want to convert the the patches from the POD XT Live to the HD500. I know you can't do a direct transfer (that would be nice). What I have done is take screen shots of my patch settings from within Line6 EDIT and want to mimic them the best I can. Here is my question: I am using the METAL SHOP Pack amps (i.e. CRIMINAL..aka 5150), that I bought originally for my POD XT Live. What amp is closest to that in the HD500?. Thanks in advanced!

Hi, I’ve had an XT live for years now and always gone straight from the Left jack to a line input on our desk and not used a DI box, nor bothered running two jacks to the desk. The POD has always been set to Studio Direct. Now I want to know how to maximise the PODs potential and get that sound you get in your headphones, but through the PA. So the questions are: Should I use a DI box? If so, does it need to be a stereo DI box running from the jacks into the DI and then XLR to desk? Can I just run a jack from the Headphone socket to the DI, then XLR to the desk? Is there anything else I need to setup on the POD to maximise the sound potential (ignoring EQ on my sounds or anything like that)? Not that relevant I don’t think, but I mainly use a Variax JTV-59.
