  1. My POD HD 400 automatically activates the "preset" knob which I use as a Reverb knob for my effects. It doesn't only modify the amount of effect by taking it to 99% instead of the 10% I usually have it set up, but it even changes the kind of reverb (I usually use the "room" reverb, but it goes to "plate" on its own). This is the first time it happens. I tried updating the firmware and the flash memory with the Line6 Monkey, but the problem is still there. What else could I do to solve this problem? Have you heard of something similar on other Line 6 products? Thanks in advance for your help on this.
  2. I am interested in hacking an old Pod (or whatever) to provide a simple 1U (or smaller) unit that can be midi controlled. Basically it's a way to build my Variax VDI Idea so I don't have to wait for Line 6. What is the smallest / most hackible Variax controller that can work with my JTV and output both mags + model? Can you order just a mainboard from Line 6? This would be just for controlling the models and providing both feeds as inputs to another system.
  3. Many threads have been started about how the overdrives and distortions are not the strong points of the POD HD series. However, there are some great blind tests on YouTube that show they actually do a great job modelling the real units they are based on. That leads me to believe that its not a weakness of the POD but rather the models themselves are dated compared to some of the ones in use today. Instead of asking for new amp models (I think the ones we have are plenty anyways) perhaps we would be better off with a collection of new overdrive and distortion models. I imagine these are easier to program than a complete amp but I could be wrong. Anyways, lets start a list of ultimate OD pedals that we would like to see in a future update. Here is my selection to get started: 1, Fulltone OCD V3 2. Wampler Sovereign 3. Wampler Triple Wreck What overdrive or distortion pedals would you add to the list?
  4. Currently I have PodHd500X, Steinberg UR22 (audio interface) and Garageband. For recording, should I directly use the USB from POD into the computer? Or should I plug the output of the Pod to the input of UR22? Which method will give me better recording quality? If I use the UR22, is it better to use the balanced (XLR) output of the Pod or the unbalanced output? I tried messing around with both the methods but can't seem to distinguish much in quality. Your suggestion will be highly appreciated.
  5. Hello. I have a little problem with my POD HD500. I notice that the sound of the preset, when I hear it on the speakers, it sounds one way, and when I record via USB sounds a little less quality. There is a small difference. Someone has been the same? Can be resolved? I have the latest drivers installed and the last firmware. Thank you very much from already.
  6. On the HD500X...Which ones have better worked for you and how? I mean, how have you used them, for which styles, etc. If you want to answer, please do it, you may save some lives, including mine, haha Greetings
  7. So I'm trying to find out if there's a way of using my old floorboard as a midi controller for my MAC (logic/mainstage). Obviously it sends some sort of signal over CAT5 which I could hook up to my MAC but is there any way to get the 2 talking? Anyone??
  8. I'm trying to use midi triggers with my POD HD bean. like at a certain time it'll go to a certain effect. is this available with the bean? i read about gearbox. i need more help...
  9. Just installed the line 6 monkey on my new computer to try and record some more and before I did anything I had to install the Line 6 drivers v4.2.7.6 installers, Line 6 v1.72 installer and the POD HD300 edit v2.02 and during the installation of one of those my studio monitors cut out, I tried restarting my computer and even tried getting audio out of just my computer and other speakers and I'm not getting any audio at all and I don't know what the lollipop is going on. help??
  10. So, I'm on a tight budget but am looking for a way of creating a foot controller for my Mac MainStage rig. I've got a Line 6 long floorboard and am wondering whether I could hook it up to a POD, then via midi into the Mac. Then use the lovely pedals and buttons to control MainStage. Anyone got any experience or knowledge on this?
  11. Hey everyone! New Line 6 owner here. Later this week I'm going to be doing a trial run where I use my HD Pro X live to a PA system and then run the dry-out signal into my conventional amp for on-stage volume. Does anyone know if the Dry Out is an isolated output in the sense that it can prevent ground loops from occurring via an isolation transformer (or similar)? I don't want to drag all the gear out only to find that linking the Line 6 to a real amp could cause a ground loop and some nasty sounds because of it. Thanks! :)
  13. Does anyone else have an issue with the POD HD Pro X (or other POD versions) overwriting patches seemingly randomly? This has happened to me on multiple occasions and it's kind of annoying when the only way to get the patch back is to restore it to defaults. I don't want to have to keep doing this. It seems like it happens when switching from one Set List to another, but there might be other factors, and it happens so sporadically that I am only just now coming to this conclusion after having the device for almost 3 years. For example, say I'm in the "User 2" on patch 5D. Then I switch to the "Best of HD" setlist and the 5D from "User 2" will now be the 5D there. Does this happen to anyone else? Is there a solution for it? It's really annoying and seems like something that should be patched.
  14. I'm on the verge of buying the FX Junkie model pack. I'd like to know, will I be able to use it on my pod xt as well as on my flextone iii XL? do I have to pay for an extra licence?

  16. Hey guys, I am a bass player looking for a really good multiefect and I am a big fan of line6s PODs. Especially the hd500. Now, I didn't tried it out but I heard that the hd 500 is equally good for the bass and the guitar and has all sords of efects and bunch of amps is that true? I am not very in to it so that why I am asking. Also, I have a really good chance to buy the POD 500x, but I don't know is it that good for the bass as the guitar. Because I want to use it for my bass guitar, does it have a bunch of efects and amps? I saw that the POD pro has only one amp for the bass I don't know is it with the hd500x the same? Anyway pls help me :)
  17. Hi everyone, what about something a little bit smaller than POD? ;) http://line6.ideascale.com/a/dtd/Amp-Preamp-Stompbox-with-effects-loop-and-headphone-output/836960-23508
  18. I have a Spider Jam III and absolutely love the "Soil" preset on it. As you can well imagine, a 75watt combo is not sufficient for any moderate venue, so I would love to be able to export/import that specific preset (or all if there is some constraint) to either my POD HDPROX rack unit or my POD HD500X pedalboard. I have played around with audibly trying to get something to sound like this on the POD units but am not really happy with my results. I have not found anyway to export the Jam presets and/or if they are portable even if I could. Perhaps someone has already done this porting (line6)? Thanks in advance.
  19. Guys I need your help D: I got my HD500X yesterday, and so far I'm hating the pitch glide When I set it +1 octave up single notes sound great, but when I try to play songs like My iron lung or subterranean homesick alien, the sound is horrible, I've seen in the forum that the pitch glide is not polyphonic, but I've heard that some people were able to fix this, and I dont want to buy a Digitech Whammy just for multiple notes. Is there a way to fix this? I play a lot of radiohead, muse and U2 covers in my band, so...+1 octave up is a crucial effect :) Thanks in advance.
  20. Hi all! I am a proud owner of a PodXTLive and I'm really happy with it! I'm also a developer and my project is to create a VST Host under Raspberry Pi2.. all is going well, but (as far as I know) there aren't Line6 drivers for Linux based on ARM architecture.. There is someone that can help me with the project or that can give me some hint or ideas to make it work? Raspberry Pi2 would be perfect for a vst host and It would be nice to make my PodXTLive do the sound processing like I do (for example) on windows! Thank you all and I hope to get a clear answer just to understand if I have to give up and try with some other solution. Luca
  21. I plugged the HD500 into the Spider Jam Aux and was practicing some clean and distortion riffs with the Solo-100 Clean amp model and a plate reverb and added the Line 6 Drive model before the amp and a volume pedal after the distortion model to adjust the volume of the distortion before the amp model. The distortion and volume pedal are toggled with FS2 and the reverb toggled with FS3. I didn't change any settings on any of the models except the max volume of the volume pedal model which ended up being 56%. Now I know it's a simple thing and probably common knowledge but the sound was just so good I had to say something, lol. I was using an Epiphone Special II (humbuckers) with the guitar volume at max and settings in and on the pod were as follows: Input sources were input 1=Guitar and input 2=Variax, Guitar IN switch set to normal, guitar in Z (Auto), "Line" setting for the 1/4" L out, Output mode=Studio Direct, global EQ off, the master volume I had set to 10-11 O'clock and it was pretty loud for practicing. Spider Jam settings were: Aux EQ Tone stack all at noon, Delay and reverb off, I forget what the compressor setting was but I'm sure it wasn't compressing much, the input setting was 0 Db and the master was maxed. Rock On! Patch > http://line6.com/customtone/tone/2382315/
  22. I picked up a Beatbuddy drum pedal and I have it plugged into the POD HD500x through MIDI. The problem I'm facing is the time clocks are off by .08 bpm. Does anyone have any thoughts to calibrate or correct the time clock sync?
  23. Hey there Please can anybody help me? I was always using my POD HD 500 normally with USB and Reaper and everything, but today I'm having this issue: when POD is not plugged in the PC I can hear my guitar normally through Unbalanced Output and headphones, but when I plug it into my PC, sounds goes off in those outputs. I can hear PC's sounds normally, and Reaper is getting signal from it, but very distorted. If I unplug the USB, the sound comes back (despite my PC gets a blue screen, but I've had this issue before when unplugging the USB, and no problems with sound). My PC is a Sony Vaio VGN-FW460J with Windows 10, not sure if it's a problem with it tho. I'm hoping this is not a big issue, I'm depending a lot of my POD for these days!! Any help is welcome, thanks!
