Hi, For practice and experimenting with various tones I use a guitars via my Line 6 UX2 into my laptop and then into POD Farm 2.5 Platinum. I can also export my patches into my DAW, which is Reason 7, and use the Line 6 guitar and bass amps in that software. Now, I was thinking it would be cool if I could uses a small POD product (like POD 2) to plug into my practice amp but to also have the capability to transfer the tones from POD Farm 2.5 into the POD unit. Is this possible or is there a Line 6 product that will enable this. I don't want to go crazy on this as it is very much a practice set-up. I play through IV amp and have the M13 stompbox controller and a Digitech iPB10 pedalboard, so I don't need another expensive effects kit. Basically, I get a hugh amount of enjoyment out of the POD Farm and would like to expand its use by having the ability to download/transfer some patches/presets to another POD device. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks GM

Hey guys! About to purchase Pod Farm 2.5 for my ilok. I own an ilok first generation. Will this work? Or am I required to purchase an ilok 2nd gen? I have searched the system requirements on the Line 6 website and it isn't specified. Any info would be great. Thanks!

Does anyone no how to make a decent patch with both a clean and distortion sound in it. for instance, instead of switching from 1A to 1B, I can just stay on 1A with a clean sound, and flip on the overdrive as needed. I can't seem to get the distortion pedals to make a decent sound

Deutsch Français Mono/Stereo Table for the POD HD Series Effects. Special Thanks to JimRyanLine6 who originally researched and created this list. True Stereo - Left input goes to the Left output, Right goes to the Right output, effect is added to each channel separately. Mono - Left input and Right input are summed to mono, effect is added to the mono signal which goes to both the Left and Right outputs. Stereo Thru/Mono Effect - Left input goes to the Left output, Right input goes to the Right output, Left input and Right input are summed to mono, effect is added to the mono signal which goes to both the Left and Right outputs. Stereo Thru/Stereo Effect - Left input goes to the Left output, Right input goes to the Right output, Left input is processed to create a stereo effect and mixed with the Left and Right outputs, Right input is processed to create a stereo effect and mixed with the Left and Right outputs. The difference between the last two is a mono effect will sound like it is in the center of the stereo field, a stereo effect will lay across the stereo field. mono_stereo.doc Mono / Stereo-Tabelle für die Effekte de POD HD-Serie.

I purchased a new HD500X and It's not sounding very good. I have hooked it up to my Laney GH50L head via 4 cable method, change the Pods output through power stack, direct, and combo stack with no luck...it all sounds extreamly fake. Strangly the best setting is the studio direct ( cant remember exact name). What do I set my FX loop volume knob on back of my amp? I tried adjusting FX loop levels on POD I have my switches set to line Thanks, Jeff

Hey all- Curious if you can have one signal path be a vocoder with the carrier signal being a synth plugged in via aux in rather than a guitar. So the programmed synth parts would control the pitch and sound rather than the guitar. Essentially I want my guitar to be one signal path with it's own effects and then the 2nd signal path be the vocoder filter + synth via aux in. My setup right now is that I use an EHX V256. Plug my mic in and plug an outside synth in via 1/4". Sounds great, but I get some ducking and squashing since I have no compression or gate on the vocoder. Rather than buy more pedals or a compressor, I'm considering the HD500 which would allow me to put these effects on the vocal path. Thanks!

Hi guys, I recently bought a Pod Hd Pro rack off of a friend and I'm running this through a ART SLA-1 Power amp (100watts@8ohms) and into an Avatar 8ohm cab (120 watts) with celestian V30s. I was practicing with some guys the other day, and for some reason, I have to crank the master AND channel volume all the way to the max to even hear it at a decent volume compared to everyone else(Drummer+6505 guitarist). Are there any settings I should be changing on the pod pro so that it is used for live amp use? or perhaps maybe the power amp is just not that strong?..

Hi all! So I currently use a HD 500 at home which I run into my Scarlett 2i2 interface and monitors. Lately, I've been looking to get the most out of the unit itself, and I've found I'm getting a lot of tones I really like through more advanced tweaking and better setups of patches. My question is will I get more realistic tones and warmth by adding some form of poweramp after the pod and into the 2i2? Valve or not valve, I'd just like to try and bring the tones to life as much as possible! Any advice would be greatly appreciated as I'm a complete noob when it comes to this kind of thing! Cheers!

Heya you all! I would like to know if it is possible to control my Flextone II's channels (or presets?) via my Pod XT live -pedal using MIDI? If this is possible, how easy it is to set up? One more question; if I can get the POD xt live to control Flextone presets/sounds, can I still put it in effets loop and use some effects from pod? Thank you for your asnwers! :)

Hey everyone, Im trying to use my old Pod xt live as an audio interface to record on Ableton Live 8. Ive got everything set up to where I get a signal on Ableton, but Im getting two output signals from my Pod to my monitors. One signal goes from the pod output straight to the monitors and the other one goes to Ableton through the usb cable and then back through the pod to the monitors. (So that if my Pod tone is clean and I have a distortion effect enabled on Ableton I hear both the clean and distorted tones at the same time) The only output cable I have is a 1/4" from the l/mono output on the pod to the monitors inputs and my Pod is connected to my pc via the usb cable. Is there any way to have only the signal from Ableton play through the monitors? I want to use effects from the pod as well as effects on ableton.

Last night, it worked fine, but I woke up this morning to use it because I'm going to buy the metal shop pack, but now it doesn't work. I've connected it into both the USB Ports on my Macbook, the lines in the HUD moves ever so slightly when I plug it in, and the red button for phantom power doesn't even light up. Please help.

I'm a french user of the Diezel Herbert, I recently bought it and doesn't have any foot controler yet. I have a rack configuration and I would like to add a multi-effect rack such as the POD HD PRO. Can you tell me if is it possible to control it with the Columbus and save different tones ? Using a simple midi cable to connect them. I ask the question because some guitarists who use the POD seem to meet some problems when they want to connect it to a midi controller which is different from a Line 6 model (FBV,etc..) Thank you very much.

Hello, I'm new to the POD HD 500, i have less than two weeks with him and we are really hitting off lol. I was just wondering , is there a list or something that shows how much DSP those modeler consumes in the HD 500?? I read that the Pitch, Reverb and specially HD Amp models are the ones that uses more DSP, even thought not all the amps uses the same. Therefore I think is kinda' useful to own a list or something, sorry if there's a thread already similar to this.

I got a Pod HD300 and I have been really happy with it for like 2 months , a short while back , I downloaded some custom tones and when I was opening the in pod edit it suddenly stopped working , when I reopened it , It wouldnt recognize my HD300 anymore , all the other programs recognize my Pod , I even recorded some EP tracks with it , its just Pod edit now for additional information : I tried fixing it using monkey and I ran into something really weird line 6 monkey doesnt recognize my Flashdrive firmware (but its there in my pod ) and it wont let me reinstall it ! I might take a screenshot for additional info the question is : how do I fix this and get the pod edit to recognize my device again?

Hello all! We just posted a new video for the JTV89F and POD HD500X on the GearTunes site and you're invited to come on by - it's up on both of the following pages via the red "Video" tab. The HD500X page also includes a "Presets" tab where you can download a zip of the sounds used in the video... http://geartunes.com/gear/guitars/jtv89f/ http://geartunes.com/gear/multi-effects/pod-hd500x/ Cheers ~ Doug;)

Can I register a product that might already be registered? And what are the advantages to having your product registered? What all comes with the hd400 when you first get it in the box?

"Paul Hindmarsh from Line 6 shows us how the Line6 L2t Loudspeakers can be used alongside the POD HD500 to create an amazingly versatile setup that can be used in variety of scenarios" This Video was the Reason I upgraded my setup to include a L2t, I wanted to be able to get the amazing electric guitar sounds from my HD500X and the Amazing Variax Acoustic sounds in one single setup, I do own a DT25 Which I love but I have never figured out how to get a decent Variax acoustic sound to the FOH Mixer. Now that I have this setup, I have issues and questions to make it sound right. My main concern here is to find an answer or best advise on how to send a signal to the FOH Mixer for both the Electric Guitar Sounds and the Variax Acoustic Sounds. In a real life situation ( Live Setting ) When I connect the HD500X to the L2t via L6 Link, the default behavior HD500 to "Combo" and L2t to "Electric Guitar". - I am sure this is for a Reason. On that Video, Paul talks about programing both units for the desired sound behavior, for example: - He was using the L2t as an Electric Guitar mode and when changing to acoustic the L2t would reconfigure to Acoustic Guitar Mode. - I wonder what would be the ideal Output mode on the HD500 for this.. One thing that confuses me the most, he was MIKING the L2t!!.. So, This is telling me that there is not an easy way to get the best of both signals ( Electric & Variax Acoustic ) from the XLR outs of the HD500.. My questions is How can I Realisticaly use this setup in a Live situation and get the best of both worlds? I know I have already posted about this topic but I must be persistent and be able to figure something out based on the opinions and advise of what I think are some of the finest knowledgeable users and experts. Please Help.

The current version of the Variax Workbench HD software requires the usage of the Variax Workbench Interface that comes with the James Tyler Variax guitars. Usage of other VDI equipped hardware such as the POD HD500, HD500x and the HD Pro are not supported as this is a known issue with the Variax Workbench HD software and we hope to address this in a future update.
