I was recording on my Pod hd pro x yesterday on my guitar(as i have countless of time before). Suddenly today it stops working. The device turns on and I can hear sound from my computer, but it won't get any signal from my guitar. Not even the tuner. I checked my guitar and the wires. I have no idea what happened or changed. I would really appreciate some direction.

Has anyone worked how to get the best sound from a Pod HD500x with the L2t powered speaker - It is not obvious whether to use the full amp models or just the Pre-amps because the electric setting on the speaker emulates an electric guitar amp so logically it would seem that using the pre-amp versions in the pod not the full amp models should sound better - sorry if this is covered I could not find anything on this so far? Ps I am using a variax JTV Pod Hd500x and Sounsource L2t

Hello, I've just bought an egnater tweaker 40 and I'd like to use it for cleans and an amp model from inside the pod for a high gain metal sound. Can and should I do this? If so, how?

Hello, I was trying to update my Pod HD500x from version 1.0 to the lastest 2.62 and it has been stuck on updating flash for more than two hours, and i'm really worried as i can't disconnect it (i'm afraid this might brick it as is suggested when trying to quit) but it seems to be stuck and i'm really unsure what to do. I just bought this so this is really worrying, and i can't afford to buy a new one. I'm doing this on a macbook 2016, and am using a usb-c to usb-A converter to connect the pod to my macbook. Any help is extremely appreciated.

So I just bought a Pod HD500X and it has this problem that many people seem to be having with it. Often, it will reboot itself randomly over and over again until I unplug it or, occasionally, until I stop playing. I am using the provided power supply and not only have I tried other 500x power supplies but I went to guitar center and bought a new one and it's doing the same thing. Basically I haven't seen this problem resolved so I'm posting this hoping to figure out a solution for everybody who's struggling with these faulty Pods. Notes: I've rebooted myself, holding down the left arrow while plugging in power, to no avail. I've tried updating using Line 6 monkey, but it doesn't show up in the list of devices.

I’m not getting sound from my HD500x when I try to go direct to my Scarlett 2i2 when I go out from the 1/4†out. I’m running protools and I’ve also tried the usb method it shows up in the playback engine but I still get no sound is there a way to go directly out of the POD into the Scarlett 2i2 with a 1/4†jack? I get sound when I play directly from my guitar into the interface but as soon as I try to go direct from the POD I lose all sound and I get nothing.

Hello community! I'm kind of new here, I checked the compatibility post for pedals but I didn't get something. Can someone explain which devices are supposed to be compatible with a POD xt Live? I recently bought it used (as the best option according my wallet) and I was reading the manual to check about recording. I saw something about I could use a pedalboard as an extension and link it somehow to record what I play and play it background to jam. If this is possible, which pedalboard is the best for my multiefect? Or which is my multiefect for the compatibility list? (example: pro xt even when yours is xt live) Thanks for the help.

For the past year or two I have been unable to set up my Line 6 POD XT Pro to record properly into Reaper. I had to have a friend round to have a poke around for me with hopes that he may be able to fix it so this is said friend typing on my behalf! Presently, I am able to record but playback is very crackly. My setup is a little unconventional. I have an audio out port from my PC going to one of the Aux in's on my stereo system, to which my standard hi-fi speakers are connected. The POD XT Pro is connected to the PC via the usual firewire cable. However, I have to have a cable running from the Phones jack to the other Aux in port on my stereo system, so I have to toggle between the two Aux inputs depending on whether I want to hear sound from my PC (including audio playback from Reaper) or sound from my Line 6. Bit of a nuisance as it means I can't really jam along to YouTube videos or mp3s or whatever. I know this setup is weird but it's all I have. To attempt to solve the crackling problem I went to Preferences in Reaper and saw that the current Audio system setting in Audio > Device is "WASAPI (Windows 7/8/Vista)" My friend said that the norm is to have whatever ASIO device is available, so we tried this, and there are 2 sub-options of ASIO Driver, these being ASIO PODxt Pro or ASIO4ALL v2. Using ASIO PODxt Pro resulted in horrible noise when both recording and playback (earlier on trying it there was no sound at all). Using ASIO4ALL v2 resulted in smooth playback of existing recorded sounds but would not record anything. I presume the fact it says 'Not Connected' in the inputs section has something to do with it but there are no other options for some reason and the ASIO Configuration dialogue didn't give us any answers. I have made sure that the Aux input channel is on the right one every time with respect to whether I'm recording or playing back, so I presume the noise or recording issues are nothing to do with that but may make things more complicated. So can anyone advise how to eliminate the playback crackling when using WASAPI / ASIO PODxt Pro and/or how to get recording to work when using ASIO4ALL? System basic specs: Windows 7 Processor: Intel® Core i3 CPU 540 @ 3.07GHz 3.07 GHz Installed memory (RAM): 3.00GB System type: 64-bit OS Unfortunately I'm not especially computer literate so if anyone can help but explain things in layman's terms as much as possible that'd be great!

Hi, I've got a used Pod XT Pro which is connected to to Focusrite Scarlett 18i20 (1Gen) via S/PDIF. The problem is, that I do not know/understand how to setup both devices to get the signal from POD to Scarlett. The Scarlett is configured using MixControl SampleRate 41.1kHz Sync Source S/PDIF Sync Status Locked USB Driver Connected ASIO Buffer Size 6ms The POD XT Pro is setup using I/O & Dig Select Input Guitar Format 41.1kHz 24 Bit Mode Normal Gain +0db Having plugged a guitar in I see the signal led flashing. I also get a signal on the DI Out which I also connected the interface using 1/4inch. In MixControl I can see the level meters receiving signal on the analog input, but not on the S/PDIF ones. When I change the POD to 'Match S/PDIF' in the IO Select, still no signal can be received. When I restart the POD with this setting it gives a message saying: "CANNOT LOCK TO INPUT. WAIT FOR RE-CLOCK OR PRESS ANY BUTTON TO SELECT GUITAR IN AND 44.1kHz 24 BIT OUT." Can anyone help me out here, how to setup this correctly. Many thanks Sebastian

I have a pod hd pro x and a Rocktron Velocity 300. I was told I need to run my poweramp in bridged mono but when I do that I get lots of pops and buzzing noise. I'm not sure i'm doing something wrong or if the poweramp is broke? My pod global settings are all correct with the stacked power amp setting etc. Any help would be appriciated as its getting rather annoying. *Works perfect when its in stereo and only one speaker cable going to my cab. Thanks

Simple question here. I have a really awesome set of bluetooth headphones and just bought a Pod UX1 to compliment my Spider Valve MKII. I have opened Logic Pro X and also tried Garageband and noticed latency. I also noticed that Pod Farm will not work with the BT headphones at all. Like the original question asks, is latency avoidable? Also, is it possible to get Pod Farm to see the BT headphones. System is a MacBook Pro 2.8GHz i7 with 16GB RAM. Thanks everyone.

So, I am trying to register my board on the Line 6 website so I can add new tones to it and use the tone editing software, but I cannot register the serial number because it says there is an error. I tried connecting it to Line 6 Monkey and it says "The POD HD500X you are connecting to is not a valid Line 6 hardware. Please inform Line 6 Customer Support about this message to receive further instructions." I have called Line 6 support and they tried to register my HD500X on their end, but they could not do it either. The representative told me the ESN (serial number) cannot be recognized and I would have to send it in for troubleshooting or take it to a local service shop. I got the info for a local repair shop and gave them a call. I told them the scoop and they said they cannot do anything because they can only repair and fix broken components, not sync a serial number with a unit. The manager at the shop was almost irritated that Line 6 told me to call them and take care of this issue and he was like "call the company you bought it from and ask for a replacement, we only repair or replace broken components, we can't sync serial numbers to units." So I contacted where I bought it from (Zzounds.com) to see what they can do. I have had this board since June 4th, 2017 and have used and created tones solely on the board. I am now wanting to download new tones and take advantage of the tone editing software. Since this problem has occurred I am left in a bind. I contacted Zzounds and let them know the situation and asked if they can send me a replacement and I'll send back this problematic unit back to them. I am still waiting to hear back. I use this board every weekend and cannot afford to be without it for up to 4 weeks, which is how long Line 6 support told me it would take to get it fixed. I have tried everything. I reinstalled drivers and all of the Line 6 apps and restarted my computer multiple times. I even used different USB cables and USB ports to make sure it wasn't a connection issue. I have checked the serial number probably about 20 different times and tried different combinations, I assure you I am not entering it in wrong. Anyone have any ideas? Screenshots of errors are attached.

Pod creating awful feedback with nothing plugged in without gate
edfletch21 posted a topic in POD HD
I noticed a lot of feedback in a few of my tones. After some messing around I found that my POD is creating an awful, almost ground loop type feedback that is constant no matter what is plugged in, what output I use, or what outlet it is plugged in to. I have tried it at a friends house, and using a ground lift switch (60hz) feedback eliminator. Nothing seems to have an affect on the terrible sound that is almost louder than my guitars input. At this point I am 100% sure it is the POD and not dirty power, any pedals, cables, or proximity to my power conditioner. I need help, as this is driving me insane. Any suggestions, or fixes are much appreciated. -
HELP!!! I have a Variax 700 bass with VDI cable, it does not work with HD500x pod or pod XT live bass. Connecting to the XT Live pod freezes the screen. Until the cable is unplugged, it will restart. With the HD500x pod, I connect a regular RJ45 cable and work for a while but then the HD500X pod restarts. The VDI cable works well with JTV59 variax Can anybody help me?

After some price-drops in the last few weeks Thomann offers only the Line6 POD HD Pro X. The POD HD500x is no longer online and there is no upcoming stock information. Seems that the HD-Line is going to leave the market forever now. A pity especially after this surprising comparison… https://www.thegearpage.net/board/index.php?threads/ax8-headrush-helix-hd500x-shootout.1852940/ I will keep mine until it's death (and already bought a backup for 170 USD)

Is it possible to plug in a Digitech MC7 midi footswitch into the midi in of the pod hd to control it? For example, I need to change presets quickly on stage and I've had this footswitch laying around. I have searched for hours on the subject and there is very little information regarding it... Thanks for any help.

Hi there, I use my POD HD 500 as sound interface and it's been a few weeks I'm experiencing this issue: by no apparent reason the sound goes off and the only way I've found to fix this is to restart the computer (I tried disabling / re-enabling the POD as an audio interface, unplugging and plugging it again, both power and USB, nothing happens). If i'm listening to something in Youtube or Winamp, the player stops and can't play further, but strangely, if I'm working in Reaper (using ASIO drivers), I can still play things normally inside it. I have no clue why this is happening, it's the same Windows install for a while, although I'm guessing it's something to do with some recent Windows update maybe. Is there anybody else having this problem? My specs: POD HD 500 Windows 10 Pro x64 AMD Phenom II X6 1090T 4 Gb RAM ddr3 1600 Asus m4a89td GeForce 260GTX 1Tb HD* All drivers / softwares / firmware are up-to-date in Line6 Monkey. * I have only 5Gb left in my Windows partition, need to fix this, but I don't really see how this can cause the audio problem Thanks in advance

Suddenly pod farm 2.57 is saying that its not authorized/no license. Also, when I plug in my POD GX it doesn't seem to register with my system and does not appear in file manager. The red light turns on for about 10 secs then turns off. I run license manger and the gx is authorized but pod farm is not on the list. Should it be? I've never had to run the license manager before. Both these problems seemed to arise after the latest major windows update. I'm kinda a noob at all this and I'm sure the solution is pretty obvious...my friend set it all up for me and i would just use the gx/pod farm to practice and mess with tones without any problems ...until recently. I'm assuming the gx isn't working because pod farm "isn't authorized"? Any help much appreciated, thanks.

Hello everybody, i'm a bass player. I felt in love with helix but...it's so expensive, and I don't know if it worths the price for a bassa player. My need is to use some effects (comp. ocatvers, synths, wah) and sometimes amp models becaus I don't wanto to carrie all my stack. Now I have a zoom b3, a mark bass super synth and an ebs compressor, but I don't think b3 is good for amp simulation. My question is.....shall I consider POD HD 500x for bass or Helix is however better and worths the price? Shall I look for a used POD x3? I don't know what to do. It seems helix is designed expecially for guitar players (I know the firmware update introduced lots of amps for bass), and so the Pod HD (of course I would buy tha bass expansion pack), but pod hd costs about the half of Helix HD. Can you share your experiences with me? Can you give me some good advice please?

Hello Everybody!! This is my first post!! Years ago I had a bass pod xt live....then I sold it and bought a zoom b3 because i did not use any simulation of amps and cabs anymore. Now...I'd like to return to Pod, and here is my question. Shall I buy a POD x3 Live...ora a Helix Xt???? I know that POD x3 is fair better than the POD XT, and that it is used also with bass...! I'd like Helix becuase it's a more recent product and...is very sexy :) but....it seems to me that is more guitar oriented than the X3. Can someone give me a good advice? Shall I spend money for an HELIX ora can i go straight to an X3... Another question.....using this two systems...can i sell my mark bass supersynth? Do the octaver and synths works well? The synths are highly configurable? Yhank you for your answers!!

A pod 2.0 manual I downloaded has the brit hi gain listed as a 1986 Marshall JCM 800 in the manual, but as a 1990 Marshall JCM 800 on the reference sheet. Any idea which year is the correct one modeled? I'm no amp tech, so is there really much of a difference between those two year's models? Here is a link to the manual. You can find the discrepancies on pages 2 and 3. http://www.rudebadmood.com/badges/POD_2.0_User_Manual-English.pdf
