  1. Line 6 generally tests with software Digital Audio Workstations (DAW) that are the latest and the last freely upgradeable versions. Line 6 does not test on 3rd party applications that are no longer supported by their own developers. While we use a wide variety of 3rd party recording applications during our software testing, it is simply not possible to test POD Farm's (or any other Line 6 software) compatibility with every DAW. We make every effort to be compatible with as many recording applications as is practical. Research performed by our Quality Assurance department, beta testers, and ultimately POD Farm users systematically help us to identify bugs and incompatibilities, and we continually strive to resolve these issues with incremental software releases and/or documentation in the form of release notes, online Knowledge Base items, and forum posts. POD Farm plug-ins are developed to conform to the standards established for RTAS, VST and AU and should be compatible with any DAW supporting these plug-in formats. It is important to note that the way that DAW manufacturers implement these standards varies, which, when combined with a given computer's unique configuration, may result in varying plug-in performance.
  2. Hello everyone I recently had to reinstall completely all my OS from scratch and nothing survived. No backups. all from zero. Unfortunately the UX1 drivers previously kept on a folder in the old hard drive won't open now, and Monkey line 6 seems unable to reinstall my software. Is there any way to recover my software for the UX1/
  3. Q: What are Mobile In digital input adaptor and Mobile POD® app? A: Mobile In is a digital input adaptor that connects your guitar or a stereo line-level audio source to your Apple® iPhone® 4S, iPhone® 4, iPad® (3rd generation), iPad® 2 or iPad®. Also works with iPhone® 5 but requires an Apple-branded Lightning to 30-in adapter cable. Learn more Mobile POD is a free app that lets you rock anytime you want with 64 fully tweakable Line 6 models. Hear them in action Q: Why doesn't Mobile In work with my iPod touch 4G? A: At this time, iPod touch 4G only works with digital audio interfaces that include both audio inputs and audio outputs. This limitation is built into the iPod touch and nothing that the interface manufacturer can affect. Some digital guitar interfaces for iOS devices, including Mobile In and models from other manufacturers, contain inputs but no outputs and as a result aren't recognized by iPod touch 4G. This is why Line 6 does not list iPod touch 4G as a supported iOS device for Mobile In. Q: Will a Lightning adapter work with Mobile In? A: As it stands, we do know that using an adapter works. It is not packaged with the unit because we cannot assume that all users will need it. Q: How many models are in Mobile POD app? A: There are 64 fully adjustable models based on celebrated vintage and modern gear. 32 guitar amplifiers, 18 stompbox and rack effects, and 16 guitar cabinets. Learn more Q: What kind of inputs does Mobile In have? A: Mobile In has two inputs: 1/8-inch guitar input with 110 dB dynamic range and 1/8-inch stereo line input with 98 dB dynamic range. (One high-quality 6-foot guitar cable with 1/8-inch and 1/4-inch ends included.) Mobile In supports up to 24-bit/48 kHz digital audio. Q: Can I use Mobile In with other CoreAudio apps beside Mobile POD app? A: Mobile In works with many other apps besides Mobile POD. It's compatible with any app that uses CoreAudio for audio input, starting with iOS 4.2.1. Q: What Apple® devices are compatible with Mobile In and Mobile POD app? A: Mobile In and Mobile POD app are compatible with iPhone® 4, iPad® 2 and iPad®. Q: What does Mobile In come with? A: Mobile In comes with everything you need to get great guitar tones (or capture any stereo line-level audio signal with pristine quality) right of the box: Mobile In digital input adaptor and a high-quality 6-foot guitar cable with 1/8-inch and 1/4-inch ends. Q: Where do I download the Mobile POD app? A: Mobile POD app can be downloaded for free directly from your Apple® devices using the App Store app. Q: What kind of cable do I use to connect my instrument to the Mobile In? A: To connect a instrument to the Mobile In, use the included 1/8" to 1/4" guitar cable. Connect the '¼' plug into the output of your instrument, then Connect the 1/8" plug into the 'GUITAR IN' on the Mobile In adaptor. for a video tutorial on Mobile In Connections. Q: What kind of cable do I use to connect my stereo line level keyboard or mixer to the Mobile In? A: To connect a stereo line level audio source such as keyboard or mixer to the Mobile In, use a 1/8" Stereo Male to Dual 1/4" Tip Sleeve Male cable. Connect both of the '¼' Tip Sleeve connections to the left and right outputs of your audio source, then connect the 1/8" Stereo Male end of the cable to the 'LINE IN' on the Mobile In adaptor. for a video tutorial on Mobile In Connections. Q: What kind of cable do I use to connect my stereo CD/MP3 player to the Mobile In? A: To connect a stereo CD/MP3 player to the Mobile In, use a 1/8" Stereo Male to 1/8" Stereo Male cable. Connect one end of the 1/8" Stereo Male to the output of your CD/MP3 player, then connect the other end of the 1/8" Stereo Male cable into the 'LINE IN' on the Mobile In adaptor. for a video tutorial on Mobile In Connections. Q: How do I use the Mobile In with CoreAudio Apps like GarageBand? A: Check out our instructions on using Mobile In with GarageBand here. Q: How do I use the Mobile POD app with the Apple's Inter-App Audio? A: Check out our video tutorial on how to use the Mobile POD App with Apple's Inter-App Audio HERE. Q: How do I use the Sonic Port with the Audiobus App? A: Check out our instructions on using Sonic Port with Audiobus HERE. If you want to use the Mobile POD app to process the sound and then record the processed audio into a third party app then you'll need to purchase and use the Audiobus app. For a list of all of other current Audiobus compatible apps CLICK HERE. Q: How can I play along with songs from my iTunes® library? A: Launch Mobile POD, tap the 1/8th note icon in the lower right hand corner of the app. The in-app player will launch, tap the 'playlist' icon located on the bottom left hand corner of the app to choose which song from your iTunes® library you like to play along with. After selecting your song, the app will return to back to the normal amp screen at which point you can play, fast forward, rewind, and loop the track. Q: Does Mobile In interface work with the AmpliTube iRig apps? A: Sorry, no. It appears that the IK Multimedia apps only work with the low-fi analog audio input on the earbuds jack, not the high-resolution digital audio input on the dock connector that Mobile In uses. Q: What should I do if my Apple® device is not recognizing the Mobile In adaptor when it is plugged in? A: Check your iPhone or iPad to be sure the latest version of the iOS operating system is installed update if necessary, instructions to do so can be found here. Disconnect the Mobile In adaptor and reconnect it, making sure the Mobile In adaptor is firmly connected to your iPhone or iPad's device's 30 pin dock connector. Check Settings > General > Accessibility, and then turn Mono Audio off. If the adaptor is still not being recognized by your Apple® device, it may be necessary to backup and restore your current iOS installation using Apple's instructions located here. Q: Can I use Airplay or Bluetooth headphones with Mobile In? A: The current version of Mobile POD does not support the use of airplay or bluetooth headphones. Q: Does the Mobile In work with Android products? A: Many of you have asked why Line 6 mobile products only work with Apple devices, not Android. Since many smartphone and tablet manufacturers support the Android operating system and have different connectors, it is unfortunately very difficult to develop and support products for these various hardware configurations. Apple devices share a standard, 30-pin dock connector which is why we're able to create a single hardware solution for these devices.

Q: Can I use the purchased Mobile POD app on more than one iOS device that I own? A: Yes, you can. In order to use it on multiple devices, Mobile POD needs to be downloaded with the Apple ID that owns the in-app purchase on that device. 6. Hello people, i just wonder if the Input of the POD XT PRO rack is a balanced or a unbalanced input, i'm asking this because i have an electric grand piano wich has outputs like a guitar does (1/4 plug) and besides XLR outputs too, but i always use the 1/4 plug output with a normal guitar cable (wich is TS ) to connect it to the front input of the POD XT PRO but i can hear the Radio Station when i do, and i was wondering if instead i can use a 1/4 TRS cable in both ends wich goes from the output of my piano to the front input of the POD, or maybe a XLR from the output of the piano to the input of the POD using a TRS male on this end. Thank you!
  7. Hey guys, I've read all the posts about POD UX2 in this forum, but nothing seems to help :( Please help me out ;( About two months ago my POD UX2 did not have any problem with its sound or signal. Now that I have spare time, I connect the device again, but no sound & no meter movement :( - I use POD Farm and Window 10 with my device - The issue is not about my guitar--no active pickups, guitar knobs at full, working perfectly last week - The output level and volume on Pod Farm are also not the problem - The unit lit up, but showed no meter change whenever I played something on the guitar - The screen (on Pod Farm) also shows no meter change as well - I can hear other audio sounds (i.e. youtube) through the device, though - The mixer input was on instruments, so no problem with the mixer - Unfortunately I have no access to other amps, so I cannot tell if the problem lies on the guitar cable... hopefully if that's the case I would simply be able to change it out. But is there any other possible issue that I might be overlooking? Please help! :( :( :(
  8. Q: How many Rack Units does the X3 Pro take up? A: 3 Rack Units Q: What are the dimensions of the POD X3 Pro? A: X3 Pro Dimensions: Width: 17" (19" including the ears) Heighth: 5" Depth: 8" Q: The Specifications on the web states that the X3Pro requires USB 2.0 but the actual USB input on the back panel is not labeled. Does it required USB 2.0? A: POD X3 Pro, as well as POD X3 and X3 Live, requires USB 2.0. For details on USB connectivity please refer to the USB Connectivity Guide Q: How do I restore the X3 Pro to it’s the Factory Presets? A: Press and hold the 'Home/Hold For Commands' button, select'Reset User Presets' and press the 'Save' knob to reset the User bank to its factory presets. Q: Will the included POD Farm Plugin require us to use the X3Pro as a dongle? A: The POD Farm Plugin works with the POD X3 Pro just like it does with other compatible products. The answer is yes. Q: Are any of the inputs/outputs, processors or other hardware/software sonically superior to the X3L/Bean? A: No Q: What are the MIDI implications of the X3 Pro? A: The MIDI Implications are the same as the POD X3 and the POD X3 Live. The X3 series include a USB connection, and these units will both expose a set of USB MIDI In/Out ports on your Windows or Mac computer. However, these devices utilize different types of commands and, therefore, will not respond to MIDI control data. As with POD X3 Live, the Pro includes 5-pin MIDI In/Out jacks that can be used strictly for receiving MIDI Program Change messages (For scrolling through User Presets) and for sending MIDI CC data when using the onboard pedal for Volume, Wah, and Tweak parameters. Q: What is the software compatibility of the X3 Pro? A: The POD X3 Pro is currently compatible with Line 6 Monkey, Gearbox, Guitarport Online, Workbench (w/ a Variax Guitar), and as a dongle for the POD Farm Plug-in (within your DAW only). Q: How can I tell which version of Flash Memory & USB firmware is installed in my X3Pro? A: Press and hold 'OUTPUTS' for system settings. Use the directional keys to scroll to the last page: The versions are displayed under 'CNTRST'™ Shown as: FLASH MEMORY VERSION: x.xx USB FIRMWARE VERSION: x.xx Q: How do I sync the POD X3 Pro to slave over S/PDIF? A: The POD X3 Pro expects the master clock signal on its S/PDIF input only, so, connecting the S/PDIF IN must be connected to master clock source. Make sure you connect the S/PDIF OUT on your POD X3 Pro to the S/PDIF IN of your clock master unit and S/PDIF IN on your POD X3 Pro to S/PDIF OUT of your clock master. In the INPUTS page of the POD X3 Pro, set anything BUT Variax as Tone 1 and Tone 2 and DIGITAL set to S/PDIF. In the OUTPUTS page of the POD X3 Pro, set your S/PDIF outputs settings in the Studio Direct Mix menu, and MATCH DIG IN for RATE.
  9. Update Instructions Available HERE NOTE: For X3 Live and X3 Pro users, see notes on subsequent firmware releases at https://line6.com/software/index.html. POD X3 Product Family Flash Memory v2.0 RELEASE NOTES: If you are a POD X3/X3 Live/X3 Pro owner, please download and install the latest version of Line 6 Monkey software and use it to update your POD X3 Live to this latest version of Flash Memory. For best results, calibrate pedal after update] POD X3 v2.0 is a FREE update to all POD X3 Product Family customers. It includes 12 additional FX inspired by the sounds of sought-after stompboxes and rack gear! What does it include? Vocoder: Our 14 band Vocoder is based on the classic rack units employed by recording studios and modular synths since the early '70s. Use the decay knob to slow down the Vocoder's responsiveness to create some haunting drones. Dynamic Delay: Made popular by the T.C. Electronic® 2290 Dynamic Digital Delay. While you play, the Dynamic Delay keeps the volume of the echoes turned down, so that the echoes don't overwhelm what you're doing. Dimension: Based on* the Roland® Dimension D. One of the first true stereo chorus units. Relatively subtle in its nature, it became an industry standard for double-track effects. Pitch Vibrato: Based on* the Boss® VB-2. It contained a circuit that produced bubbly vibrato, but was popular for its 'rise time' control that when engaged, sped up to where you last set it. Voice Box: Inspired by Vocoders, Vocal Tracts & Surgical Tubing. This model gives your guitar a sound that's typical of a classic talk box. V-Tron: Voice Box meets Mu-Tron® III. In this model your guitar again 'speaks' with an almost human voice, but now it does so in response to your playing. Octisynth: Inspired by eight armed denizens of the deep. Everyone knows that all you need is a bottleneck and a reverb tank to get whale sounds, but how about our friend the Octopus? Q Filter: Your very own parked wah! You've heard it before from Mark Knopfler and from Brian May of Queen's a wah 'parked' in one position. Pattern Tremolo: Inspired by* Lightfoot Labs Goatkeeper. This effect is what you'd get if you could hook up a vintage keyboard sequencer to a tremolo. Frequency Shifter: A ring modulator gives you both up and down shifted frequencies. Here you can select just the up or down shifted frequencies. Barberpole Phaser: A classic effect from the world of modular synths. This phaser either sounds like it's always going up or always down depending on how you set it. Set to stereo you get both! Script Phaser: Based on* MXR® Phase 90. Just like the original our model only features a Speed control * All product names used in this webpage are trademarks of their respective owners, which are in no way associated or affiliated with Line 6. 10. Deutsch Français Important Notes: These instructions also apply to POD HD400 and POD HD300 and their associated editors. It is highly recommended that these updates are installed in a specific sequence. Please see the installation notes* below. Bug Fixes These updates address a bug which allows invalid data to be introduced to presets. The invalid data is caused by asynchronous communication between the POD HD/HD500/HD Pro hardware device and the POD HD/HD500/HD Pro Edit software application. In rare instances, recalling presets containing invalid data may cause intermittent high volume events. Installing POD HD/HD500/HD Pro firmware v2.62 and POD HD/HD500/HD Pro Edit v2.26 prevents invalid data from being introduced into presets. During synchronization between POD HD/HD500/HD Pro and POD HD/HD500/HD Pro Edit, the hardware displays a ‘Sync In Progress’ message and does not respond to any buttons or knobs until synchronization is complete. Additionally, any presets which contain invalid data are reset to an initialized state. These presets are easily identified as ‘New Tone (Reset)’. *Installation Notes Please follow these steps sequentially: Disconnect any audio connections to the POD HD/HD500/HD Pro, connect to the computer via USB and save a preset Bundle, Set Lists, or individual presets from POD HD/HD500/HD Pro Edit v1.06 (if you do not wish to save any existing presets you may skip this step) Quit the POD HD/HD500/HD Pro Edit app and launch Line 6 Monkey to install POD HD/HD500/HD Pro Edit v2.26 Complete the POD HD/HD500/HD Pro Edit installation and launch Monkey once again to install POD HD/HD500/HD Pro Flash Memory v2.62 During the installation, Monkey will ask if you want to keep your presets, click ‘No’, and complete the installation following the on-screen instructions. On the POD HD500, you *must* reset the global setup options which includes resetting the Setlist names and pedal calibration by: Disconnect the USB cable connection between HD500 and host computer. Power off the POD HD500. Power on the POD HD500 while holding the LEFT ARROW [*] If you do not do this, one of the tell-tale symptoms that may surface after a Monkey Flash Memory update is that the HD500 will be stuck in a continuous re-boot/power cycling state (you'll keep seeing the Logo and the unit keeps re-starting itself). Sometimes this may not occur, but a secondary telltale sign that a user has not performed a Global Settings reset is the USB communication between the HD500 and HD500 Edit software will be extremely slow/sluggish. ***NOTE: Please also make sure to re-calibrate the onboard expression pedal of the HD500 after performing the Global Settings reset. Instructions: How to calibrate the POD HD500X\HD500 Expression Pedal. [*]Launch POD HD/HD500/HD Pro Edit to restore any saved presets. **Please note that any previously saved presets that were corrupted in any way will be discarded and set to New Tone (Reset) once imported into POD HD/HD500/HD Pro Edit 2.00. For more information about POD HD/HD500/HD Pro, visit our POD HD500X\HD500\POD HD\POD HD Pro FAQ. Advanced User's Guide The latest version of the Advanced User's Guide for the POD HD500 can be found here. Ces presets ressemblent à ceci: "New Tone (Reset)". Hi, I have an issue on my great POD HD500 with foot switch FS3. Specifically, I found it broken with spring out of slot. I am unable to find any way to mount it properly. If I click on the button underneath it works, so it's not electronic, just the switch to be mounted correctly. I am attaching some pics, can anybody help me? I hope this is not irremediably broken and need a replacement. Thx!
  14. I am looking to use POD Farm to help clean up a simple USB headset mic. Some day I will get a good mic and interface but for now I just need to do some narration of a PPT presentation and would like the sound to be better. Any ideas?
  15. I have been using a Pod X3 Live for about 4 years. It was bought 2nd hand so its well out of date now, and parts cannot be easily obtained in the UK. Last year the power supply went down totally and my techie boffin pal rigged up a workaround, because the parts to reinstate it were not available. He did warn me that it may not be economic to repair again and would probably blow again. Anyway it suddenly stopped dead and went blank a week ago, admittedly after I had been perhaps over-enthusiastically wa-wa-ing, (which might be a clue?). I smelled burning so something shorted out. My boffin pal had a look and tells me its all powering up OK, and there is no obvious burned out part visible, but there is no audio output at all! Its probably bound for the scrap heap to be replaced by a second hand HD500X off ebay, but I'm wondering if anyone knows if there might be a simple fix for this? My immediate thought is either that the sound output power supply (on the board?) has blown, or its something to do with the expression pedal failing. A second question is whether I will be able to load in my setups via Gearbox into the HD500X? I think so, but nobody I have asked knows for sure. It would be so great not to have to reinvent the wheel!
  16. This strange thing happened to me today, i plugged my hd400 and after booting i noticed that the presets triggers ABCD weren,t working, not even the green lights, the mode switch neither, all the other buttons were functional, i can change amps, effects, tweaks, i can even change banks number, but cannot select any of the letters in the selected bank number. Please help, is this a firmware issue or a hardware problem¿¿¿

A: The way around this is to use Gearbox (free download from http://line6.com/software/) to open the tone once you transfer it from the POD Pro to the tone folder on your computer. With POD Pro connected, transfer all the tones you want to the tones folder on your computer using Edit. Disconnect POD Pro and connect POD XT. Open Gearbox. Open a POD Pro/2.0 tone in Gearbox. Save the tone to your computer in whatever location you want. Close Gearbox and open Edit Locate tone and transfer into POD XT via Sync button Q: I am getting a Java Error when I try to run Line 6 Edit? A: See the following link for resolution: Resolving Java Errors with Line 6 Edit and Workbench Q: How do I set up my Line 6 device using MIDI to connect with Line 6 Edit? 1) Please ensure that you have the interface's latest drivers installed on your computer. We recommend downloading the drivers directly from the manufacturer's website and installing the drivers BEFORE connecting your USB-MIDI interface. Consult the manufacturer's website for the correct installation and troubleshooting procedures to ensure your drivers are installed correctly. 2) Connect your Line 6 device to the MIDI Interface, making sure the cables are connected correctly. Traditional MIDI connections will have the Line 6 device MIDI IN to interface MIDI OUT, and the Line 6 device MIDI OUT to interface MIDI IN. The MIDIsport Uno will be labeled "to MIDI in" and "to MIDI out". 3) Turn your Line 6 device ON, then open Line 6 Edit. We will use a Vetta II head for these screen examples: 4) If your unit is not being recognized by your computer, select "configure": 5) In the MIDI devices window, select "add": 6) Under the MIDI in port, select your USB to MIDI device: 7) Under the MIDI out port, select your USB to MIDI device: 8) You can leave the device window in "auto detect" or choose the device you plan to use. Once this is completed, select "add": 9) When your device appears in the window, select "OK": 10) Once your device is selected, your computer will import the tones that are currently installed on your device. Do not change any settings or or turn your unit off during the information transfer: 11) Line 6 Edit will now display the tones and bundles currently installed on your computer on the left side of the window, while displaying the tones installed on the Line 6 unit on the right side of the computer. If you need help navigating the features of Line 6 Edit, select the help menu for assistance in connections, backing up your tones, and importing tones. Q: What is Customtone? A: Customtone features a gigantic Line 6-authored library filled with selected tones from the vast treasure trove of GuitarPort Online, including tones matched to many of the greatest classic and new guitarists, bands and songs. Was ist Customtone? 19. Q: What is the KB37 used primarily for? A: It is a 37-key USB MIDI keyboard/control surface and TonePort USB audio interface. The KB37 will be able to send and receive MIDI CC information and process audio input and output across the USB connection to the host computer. Q: What are the knobs in the center top of the keyboard for? A: They are 4 software-assignable MIDI Continuous Control parameter knobs with 4 soft-buttons and a dedicated set of MIDI transport controls. The KB37 can control assignable MIDI parameters in most software synthesizer/samplers on the market today, along with most digital audio recording application sequencer track transport controls. Note: The KB37 does not have any of it's own onboard sounds. It is a MIDI controller that sends MIDI data to the computer and any installed MIDI software synthesizer/sound software. Q: What are the Audio Specs for the TonePort I/O section? A: Sample rate conversion at 16 and 24 bit at 44.1, 48 and 96 kHz. 2 XLR inputs with mic preamps and +48V phantom power. 2 Guitar/Bass Inputs – use the Pad input for guitars and basses with high level pickup outputs, or the normal input. Dual analog VU meters (software assignable to input, record send, and output levels). Q: Can I use GearBox editing software with the KB37? A: Yes, the KB37 is a GearBox software supported TonePort family device. Reference Links: Assigning KB37 Transport Keys To Logic 7 MMC Input must be enabled in Logic 7 in order to receive MMC from the KB37. From the main application menu, open Preferences>MIDI Select the Sync tab Click the MIDI Sync Song Settings button in the bottom right; this launches the Song Settings dialog. In the section labeled "MIDI Machine Control (MMC)" check the "Listen to MMC Input" option Note that this is a per-song option. To make this option global, you must modify your template file. Open Line 6 Audio/MIDI devices. Go to the MIDI tab. Click the Settings button. Choose a preset from the presets list. For each transport control, change the "To MIDI Out" parameter to "MIDI CC", assign a MIDI CC (for this example, we'll use 20-24), and change Switch Mode to Momentary. Click the Apply button, name the preset, click the Save icon and click OK. Click OK on the next screen. Assigning KB37 Transport Keys To Sonar 6 Go to Options/MIDI Devices and choose the KB37 as the input device and choose OK. Go to Options/Controllers/Surfaces. Click the Add New Controller/Surface icon. For Controller/Surface, choose ACT MIDI Controller. Input port should be the KB37. Click OK. Go to Views/Toolbars and ensure Controllers/Surfaces is selected, then close the window. In the Controllers toolbar, click the Controllers/Surfaces Properties button that is at the right end of the Control Surfaces toolbar. Although you can choose any preset, the M-Audio Ozone is laid out closest to the KB37 layout, so use it for this example. In the Controllers tab, you'll see 8 columns, each containing 4 three-row sections, three of which should be labeled "N/A". Go to the last of those 3 rows and click the n/a label to name it Rewind. Name the next 3 N/A fields from left to right: Stop, Play and Record. There is an empty field two slots below each of the labels. When you click the empty field for each of the 4 columns you just set up, press the corresponding transport button on the KB37 and it will be learned by Sonar. Go to the Options tab and under the Buttons category, drop down the second field to choose a control label and the third field to choose the transport control. Uncheck the "Exclude this button from ACT" setting each time. Click in the Presets field to name your new preset then hit the save icon. This preset will be stored and available to use with the KB37. Control Garageband With KB37 In order to control the Transport functions in Garageband with the KB37 you will need to have version 2.0.1 of Garageband or later. The Garageband software cannot do this natively and so you will need to download add-on software that permits MIDI messages to control the play and stop buttons in Garageband. GarageRemote is one such software and is available here: http://www.muratnkonar.com/otherstuff/garageremote/ This software is from the company: murat n konar Once GarageRemote is installed and set up, start GarageRemote's Listener off by default) so that it can relay MIDI notifications to GarageBand. GarageBand responds to MIDI CC 007 and 010 for current track volume and pan, and these parameters can be assigned to the existing GarageBand MIDI preset of the Line 6 Audio-MIDI Devices settings. Setting Up The KB37 Transport With Cubase The KB37 has control wheels and buttons like many other Mackie or others transport cotrollers. You can get the two working together by simply going into: device setup, click on the + button, add MIDI MACHINE CONTROL SLAVE, and select the Line 6 Toneport KB37 from the menu on the right. In order to set the control on the KB37 itself you will need to go to: Line 6 Audio Midi Devices in your Control Panel and select the MIDI tab. Setting Up The KB37 To Control Reason First, ensure that you have downloaded and installed the latest version of Line 6 Monkey. Run it and verify that your TonePort KB37 is running the latest driver, firmware and flash memory. Download the latest version of GearBox application and install it to your computer. Launch the "Line 6 Audio-MIDI Devices" program from the Line 6/Tools folder. Next, make sure the KB37 is the active device. Select the MIDI tab and from the drop-down list of Controller Mapping applications, select Reason (version #). You are now ready to use the KB37's transport, Sound Select and 4 assignable real-time parameter controls with Reason. Keep in mind that you will be using the default parameter control settings. If you wish to customize those, click on the "Settings" button to access the Parameter Map screen. The drop-down list titled "MIDI CC/Action" is where you can modify which device parameters are to be controlled by the available controllers on the KB37. Keep in mind that each Reason Device has it's specific parameter CC# assignment. To access those values, refer to the "MIDI Implementation Chart" located in the Documentation folder within the Reason application folder on your computer's hard drive.

Online help is available in English and other languages HERE Note: This version of POD Farm includes support for both Line 6 hardware and iLok USB Smart Key. Licenses for each hardware platform are unique and not interchangeable. POD Farm or POD Farm Platinum iLok licenses are required for use with iLok keys. Activations for iLok keys are included with the retail version of the plug-ins or can be purchased from the Line 6 Online Store POD Farm and POD Farm Platinum iLok users may may choose not to install the components required for Line 6 devices. Likewise, POD Studio and other Line 6 hardware users of POD Farm may ignore any iLok specific installer components. All supported Line 6 devices require a POD Farm license for VST/AU/RTAS plug-in functionality. If your device does not already have a POD Farm license, one can be purchased at the Line 6 Online Store System Requirements: WINDOWS® Pentium® 4, 1.2GHz or better (2.5Ghz or higher recommended) Windows® XP® (with SP2 or better) XP x64, or Windows® Vista® (32 bit and 64 bit versions are supported) 512MB RAM minimum (1GB or more recommended) 1GB free HD space minimum (10GB or more recommended for recording) USB port on computer Internet connection required for activation (once activated, Internet connection is not required) Host application that supports RTAS, AU, or VST Plug-ins MACINTOSH® Intel® or Power PC® based G4 800MHz or better (G4 1.67 or better recommended) OS X 10.4.6 or better 512MB RAM minimum (1GB or more recommended) 1GB free HD space minimum (10GB or more recommended for recording) USB port on computer Internet connection required for activation (once activated, Internet connection is not required) Host application that supports RTAS, AU, or VST Plug-ins Known Issues: When using DAW automation to change model types all model parameter settings revert to their default settings. Work around is to instantiate POD Farm on separate tracks for alternating amp/effect setups or automate all parameters after a automating a model change. Loaded presets which include unauthorized cabinet models do not provide a graphic indication that the model is not active. The user must look at the drop down menu to know if the cabinet model is available or not. A user will never be able to create a preset (from scratch) which includes a model which is not owned. To avoid presets consisting unauthorized models, sort the preset browser's metadata by Own All Models. Not all automation parameters are available in Ableton Live's automation menu. Ableton Live is designed to display 128 automation parameters. POD Farm may not find previously installed GearBox presets by default. Clicking the refresh button in the "Presets" view will show the presets properly. If you create a preset with an amp and then delete that amp and perform a "Save As", you'll notice the deleted amp is called out in the "Save Tone As" window. This is just a GUI issue and your preset has been saved with no amp. Digital Performer does not process Pod Farm plug-in audio when bouncing. POD Farm subsequently freezes when the bounce is completed. The direct audio is bounced, but without the POD Farm effects. Digital Performer does not crash; you can still go to the inserts and remove the frozen POD Farm instance. Mac Exclusive: Clicking on a tone icon will automatically launch Gearbox if it is also installed on your computer. You need to manually associate tones on your Mac to open using POD Farm. Right click or CTRL click on the icon and select "Open With."

You must run Line 6 Monkey on each computer first in order to authorize that functionality.
  22. TonePort UX8 Frequently Asked Questions Q: Is TonePort UX8 an audio interface or software? Does it record? A: TonePort UX8 is a USB audio interface. Every TonePort audio interface works with the included GearBox modeling software as an integrated hardware/software system. The TonePort device gets audio signals into your computer and GearBox software makes everything you record sound amazing. TonePort UX8 is a unique integration of professional hardware and amp and effects modeling software. Designed with high quality electrical components and a rugged exterior, TonePort UX8 provides a wide dynamic range and an exceedingly low noise floor. The UX8, like every TonePort device, works together with the included GearBox software as an integrated hardware/software system, making everything you record sound amazing. Additionally, TonePort UX8 features Line 6's exclusive ToneDirect Monitoring, which lets you hear your GearBox-processed signal instantaneously, providing unmatched responsiveness while you record. Q: What is ToneDirect monitoring? A: ToneDirect monitoring allows you to monitor a fully processed signal with extremely low latency, regardless of the buffer size of your recording application. This means that there is an incredibly small delay between when you play a note and when you actually hear the sound from your speakers. This is unusual among audio interfaces because with other more traditional monitoring solutions, you either have to listen to processed audio with significant latency, often such that it is hard to play along with what you are recording or listen to a signal with no processing. It's uninspiring to say the least to hear completely dry electric guitar with no amp, cab, or effect processing. Q: What is GearBox? A: GearBox is the standalone software application that works with your TonePort audio interface, providing everything you need to record professional sounding tracks. GearBox contains models of vintage and modern amps, speaker cabinets, stompbox and studio effects for guitar, bass and vocals and can be applied while recording to any pair of inputs. Q: Can I apply Gearbox effects to all 8 inputs at once? A: Yes, using the Gearbox plug-in that is included with the UX8. Q: Will Gearbox be able to record at 96K? A: The UX8 driver can process audio at 96K, but Gearbox operates at 48K. Gearbox converts the 96k signal from the UX8 driver, converts it to 48k, processes it, then sends the signal to the UX8 driver, which then converts the signal to 96k. Q: Can I use TonePort UX8 without the GearBox software? A: Yes, you can use the TonePort hardware without GearBox software. Q: Can you re-amp with UX8? A: Not the same way you can with a PODxt, but you can via the GearBox Plug-In. The method for re-amping with a PODxt is pointed out in Knowledge Base document 3940. Q: What is GearBox Plug-In? A: GearBox Plug-In is a VST, AU and RTAS plug-in, providing the same models as the standalone application and additional flexibility when mixing and mastering. Q: Is the GearBox Plug-In included with TonePort UX8? A: Yes, it is. Q: Are TonePort UX8 and GearBox Intel Mac compatible? A: Yes, they are. Q: What recording software can I use with TonePort UX8? A: Every TonePort supports the ASIO standard on Windows and Core Audio on the Macintosh and should work well with any recording application that supports one of these protocols. The UX8 is designed to work with most major applications such as ProTools, Logic, Cubase, Nuendo, Sonar and Ableton Live. Q: Can I use TonePort UX8 and GearBox processing as a front end for Pro Tools? A: Yes, if your Pro Tools® hardware interface has a S/PDIF input you can run the stereo S/PDIF output of your TonePort UX8 directly into your Pro Tools hardware, complete with ToneDirectâ„¢ monitoring and GearBox processing. You can also utilize the Pro Tools compatible RTAS-format GearBox Plug-In for mixing and mastering. Q: Is RiffWorks 2 Line 6 Edition compatible with TonePort UX8? A: No, RiffWorks Line 6 and Riffworks 2 Line 6 Edition are not compatible with the UX8. However, the Standard Edition (full version) of Riffworks available for purchase through the Sonoma WireWorks website: http://www.sonomawireworks.com/. Q: Can I expand the model set of TonePort UX8 with Line 6 Model Packs? A: Yes, you can. They are available as optional Model Pack purchases from our online Store. Q: Can I transfer model packs that I purchased on another Line 6 hardware device over to my new UX8? A: Yes. Once you've purchased a model pack license key, that key remains with your user account indefinitely. You cannot, however have two or more different registered hardware devices running the same model pack simultaneously. Only one hardware device can have the model pack installed on it at any given time. Q: Do the gain controls on the front panel control the line input jacks on the back of the unit? A: The gain controls the input level of the XLR inputs, not the instrument cable inputs (as these are assuming line level and most instruments will have their own level control). Q: What do the VU meters do on TonePort UX8? A: The GearBox application allows you to assign the signal that is monitored by the VU meters to various audio sources: including input, record send, output and monitor levels. Q: How accurate are the VU meters on the UX8 in relation to the meters in the software? A: Very accurate, with the smallest of variance between Gearbox and the physical meters. Q: What will happen if my signal clips the unbalanced analog input on the UX8? A: The clipping will be a "natural clipping". The cure is to lower the incoming signal at the source. Q: How many Instruments/Mics can I record at one time? Since you are monitoring directly out of the UX8, am I going to experience any latency when recording all 8 inputs? A: 8 inputs can be recorded at any given time. Outputs 1 & 2 are monitored via ToneDirect, with the remaining outputs monitored from the hardware at near zero latency. Q: Can the phantom power from the UX8 damage my dynamic mic? A: No, it will not. Q: What is the signal to noise ratio on the analog inputs? A: The UX8 has an input signal to noise ratio of .005% THD, with a dynamic range of 111 dB. Q: What do flashing lights on the unit mean? A: The LED status indicators (Main Mute and Main Clip LEDs provide secondary functions in their ability to indicate the connection status of USB and S/PDIF) as follows: No USB connection: The main clip LEDs alternate steadily between left and right, about once every second. The USB cable may be unplugged or the UX8 driver may not be installed on your computer. No S/PDIF clock sync: The Mute LED blinks 3 times rapidly about once every second when the clock mode set to S/PDIF, and no external clock is present. Q: What are the dimensions and weight of the UX8? A: The UX8 is a standard two-unit rack space module, with dimensions of 17"w x 7"d (8" with knobs) x 3.5"h. The shipping weight is 11.6 lbs. Known Issues: An incompatibility for systems running on Intel ICH10 USB Chipsets; UX8 will hang the user's computer system. The solution for this is to use a PCI USB 2.0 interface card to connect UX8. Record buss mis-routing of UX8 in Gearbox when recording into DAW Gearbox is remembering POD Farm 1 and 2 Record send settings if PF (1 or 2) was used before Gearbox program. Workaround is to reset the Record Send settings that were made in POD Farm 1 or 2, or to reboot the computer.
  23. My original POD has been in store for years due to my travelling Above the socket for the floorboard there is no writing. If I press MANUAL when turning on the POD is says POD 2.0 so I must have put in a new EPROM - inside it has a label "2.3" But I now realise I have made it not compatible with my floorboard :( 1) What pedal board will work with this original POD that has 2.3 EPROM upgrade? 2) Are there any original EPROMs anywhere? Thanks
  24. I'm looking at buying a Firehawk FX. However, I'd really like to be able to use some patches that were made for the Pod HD500x. Is this possible? If not this is going to make my decision between the Firehawk and Pod very difficult.
  25. Hi, I've been successful in changing patches on my Pod HD500 using Cubase LE AI Elements 8, but the Pod just doesn't toggle the effects on/off when a midi command is sent to it. The Pod is sending and receiving signal as I have even recorded effect toggles from it to a MIDI track, but the Pod only responds to the patch changes, not the effects toggling. I'm not sure if I need to change any settings in the Generic Remote Settings. Can anyone help please? :)
