  1. Holy crap! Just got my Trio tonight and straight out of the box it is the most fun pedal I have ever owned. Easy to setup and use, I got the extra 3 button switch to go with it. I set up a patch with my guitar in channel A and the FX loop in channel B feeding the Trio. Dummy plug in the Trio amp output and feed the Trio mixer output back into channel B. (that is only the drums and bass) Put a reverb after the bass and drums and center the mixer block. It sounds fantastic! Only through headphones so far but I am stoked. Played a funky chord sequence and it picked it up perfectly. Sweep through the different styles and genres and get things I wouldn't have thought of on my own, all synced perfectly. Changes tempo no problem. This is going to take my practice, playing and song writing to a whole new level... 2. Hello, i have a problem with dry signal recording with podhd500. I use podhd500 as audio interface, i record my dry guitar tone by disable all processes in podhd500 and by switch to tunner mode. After hear 2 sound demo, i find that dry tone by "tunner mode" sound more cleaner than by "disable all processes". I wonder which is really dry signal... Or anyone can show me a good way to record dry signal with podhd500 as audio interface?
  3. Okay guys, I know other threads have been started about this, but I haven't gotten any answers from those, so here's the deal. I'm using a Mesa Boogie M9 Carbine head, and two SWR Goliath II cabinets, with a Yamaha RBX6JM bass. I wanted to use the POD HD500X for effects only. It appears the only way to connect it to the amp is with this "4 cable method," which I have tried. Problem is, all of the knobs on my amp become useless when I do this, like it's just a power amp. Can someone just tell me everything I have to do to get it like this: -complete control of amp head, with Mesa M9 tone -good sounding effects from the POD -plenty loud enough, and I can use the amp head volume Basically, use the 500x just exclusively for effects, leaving volume and tone without effects to my amp head. Can I do this with an HD500x? If not, what piece of equipment would do this? Basically I just want to have the closest thing to a pedal board without actually getting several different pedals and putting them on the board. Thanks in advance
  4. I love being able to control HD500 parameters with my Variax tone and volume knob and look forward to doing it with Helix too. What I really want is to be able to control the Variax tone, volume and even tunings, models and pickups with the POD or Helix either with the expression pedal or with a foot switch. Using the exp pedal to control guitar volume has a totally different effect than changing amp volume or drive but for me its a PITA to get it consistently right. And being able to hit a FS to change tuning and guitar model or pickup would be amazing! http://line6.ideasca...508?submitted=1 Vote it up!
  5. I love my POD Gx. But after an unexpected shutdown GX is malfunctioning. I have uninstalled and re-installed the driver many times. I had success two times but eventually it stopped working. The green light shows up sometimes but I can't see any input or hear any output. I hope settings are correct.. Please help
  6. Hi guys, I've recently bought a Pod HD500X and have installed some software to go with it (license manager, monkey, HD500X Edit, PodFarm 2), but I can't seem to license PodFarm 2. I've uninstalled and reinstalled it, and unauthorized and reauthorized my computer, but I can't get it licensed. The application opens but prompts me to buy a license for the unauthorized software (which I already have from buying my Pod). Not sure if there's something simple I've completely missed or if it's a bit more of a tedious fix, but any help would be greatly appreciated! Just want to get recording :) Thanks in advance, James
  7. Currently I have PodHd500X, Steinberg UR22 (audio interface) and Garageband. For recording, should I directly use the USB from POD into the computer? Or should I plug the output of the Pod to the input of UR22? Which method will give me better recording quality? If I use the UR22, is it better to use the balanced (XLR) output of the Pod or the unbalanced output? I tried messing around with both the methods but can't seem to distinguish much in quality. Your suggestion will be highly appreciated.
  8. I really enjoy building great, weird and huge sounds using my pod hd500 and m5, but I feel like I am not as ‘free’, creatively speaking, as I’d like to be. I love the variety of sounds that fx modelers offer, but amp-wise, I mostly use just 3 sounds; clean, crunch and high-gain and I am happy with the settings I have for the amp models right now. However, the most important part of my sound comes from effects, using big reverbs, delays and often strange combinations of filters and modulation. These, I want to dial in fast. In this regard, I feel that there are two factors that sort of hold me back. Firstly, for every quick idea for a new sound, I have to spend some time getting the amp model right, either by copying an existing preset, or building a new amp, which holds me back from focusing on the core of my sound which, for me personally, are the effects. A second factor holding me back is the fact that as I set a new effect, all standard settings are used, so I cannot have my personal settings for certain effects that I often use. I would like to be able to call up effects on the fly as I like them. Basically, how I imagine it, my perfect setup would involve a pedalboard that is way too big, but with effects at my disposal, whenever I feel like using them. I am asking you for your advice on how to achieve the flexibility I am looking, by using the presets in a different manner, by using the fx-loop differently, by adding an m13, or some other advice that might change the paradigm through which I look at building sounds. My set-up: jtv59 -> pod hd500 -> mackie th12 (btw: I recently started using the pod hd edit software on my macbook, which does deliver a large part of the flexibility I am looking for) Thanks
  9. Hey guys, I don't know if this subject has been discussed before, but I just wanted to know how many of you have tried recording both with the Pod and with an external sound card. Is there any big difference in the audio quality? Does it worth the money if I invest 170 euros for a decent sound card such as the scarlett 2i4? Thanks in advance.
  10. I just purchased this new line 6 pod and i would love to use it but every time i connect it to my computer and turn it on it doesnt install the driver or it will say no driver help ive downloaded the line 6 monkey and it isnt detecting it help please
  11. I have my HD500 set to input 1 Variax, input 2 same and yet when I turn off the modeling in my JTV I can still hear the mags. Is this normal? Shouldn't the mags only be heard if I select Variax Mags in the POD? How does it work for anyone else with a JTV/HD500? Does it matter if the battery is installed or not? I just feel like there is a faint ghost note coming through and I think it is the mags bleeding through. PS - all firmware is up to date and I am connected only using the VDI cable.
  12. I'm using my POD HD Pro for live but when switching tones there is too big of a delay when I stomp on the fbv express mkii.... (doesn't sound natural.. takes too long to switch tones) Is there anyway to fix this?
  13. I purchased my first Line6 POD just a few months ago. Since that time I have found a number of really good amp models and have posted some of them to the CustomTone site (SteveKudlacek). Admittedly, I am new to the modeling game, but I am fascinated with the ability to build all of the amps that I could never afford to own. Some of the models are really accurate. My fascination continues... But because there is really no ranking system - number of downloads does not equal satisfaction - I wanted to know what are some of your favorites? If you have a favorite CustomTone, for the HD Pro or Pro X only please, reply with a link here. Also, if you have downloaded some of my patches any constructive criticism here would be appreciated. Thanks. Steve.
  14. Hi everybody! :) 1st post in this forum. New or used I want buy "The POD Settings Bible" edited by Licklibrary. Unfortunately it is not available anymore from them. Please help me. Thanks!
  15. Is there a good, reliable expression pedal made by a 3rd party that works well with the PODs? It's not critical that I get one before this weekend, but I would like to if possible, and none of the local places sell the Line 6 add-on pedal. I don't have time to order one from Amazon by then, either. What are some other brand external expression pedals I could look into at a Guitar Center or some place like that?
  16. Hey guys. I want to buy Floor POD Plus from a guy, but he has no power supply for it. I wanted to buy 9v AC 2000mA adapter for it, because i read that it's the default power supply for this POD, but it's expensive in here. Can I use an adapter with less miliampers than 2000? Like 1300 or smth? I can't find any information about this on the internet.
  17. I plugged my POD HD Pro in today and noticed I had updates to my driver and flash memory. It has been about a month since I updated so I was able to do the Driver update with out any issues. The flash memory I wish I could say the same. The first update said it timed out. The second one crashed my computer and some how my POD. Now when I turn the POD on it is frozen on one of my presets and I am getting no sound from my cab. The flash memory update continues not to work either so I guess what I'm asking is what the hell do I do now? For the record my driver is 4.2.7.1 and my flash memory reads as "unknown". I would appreciate any help here. Thanks.
  18. Hi. I updated my POD HD500 and JTV-59 recently to the new firmwares. Now when I turn it on with the Variax plugged in it just constantly reboots - doesn't get far enough to make a sound. As soon as I unplug the Variax (VDI connected), it starts and I can plug the guitar back in and it works. Anyone else in this boat? I haven't tried reflashing anything but will soon I guess.
  19. On the POD HD500X, is there a way to move (or maybe copy and paste) a preset from one setlist to another? I want to gather the presets I use most often together into one of the empty user setlists, so I don't have to move back and forth between different setlists all the time. The manual shows how to move a preset within a setlist, but not how to move it to a different setlist. Can this be done?
  20. I have a pod hd pro and i downloaded the new metal hd pack today and basically i was trying out the new amps and when ever i put an EQ in the post area it goes all crackly sounding and lollipop. anyone know what this is?
  21. So the PODs LED indicators for clip and signal are always on, even with no instruments or anything attached. Has anyone else encountered this problem? I've cycled through all of my patches and have used clean slates, but nothing seems to get those lights to stop coming on.
  22. I'm very happy with the way the HD 5150 amp has turned out. It's my favorite amp model on my Peavey Vypyr II amp, and it's now probably going to be my favorite on my HD500X. Having said that, it definitely needs some tweaks and adjustments to get a usable sound. To my ears, the default settings have way too much mosquito buzz and a little too much low end, but to be honest, the exact same is true with the 5150 model on my Vypyr amp, so I believe that those are just characteristics of the actual amp (but I've not played on a real 5150, so my experience is limited to modelers). I purposely recorded this clip with the default settings of the amp model to give an idea of the sound without any adjustments. The only exceptions are that I increased the mids about 12%, I added plate reverb and I added tape echo. Also, I did not add drums or bass when recording to let the guitar be fully heard. So, all of the items that to me need tweaked are still present in this clip, so you'll hear too much buzzyness. But again, this is purposely to give a demo of the raw sound of the amp without much tweaking. I plan on doing an A/B comparison with my Vypyr 5150 settings, which I have set the way I like, to get this more in line with that. Lowering the gain, lowering the presence, reducing the bass and treble a little, and a few other things should get this amp model sounding pretty good. http://www.mediafire.com/listen/2cxbx2idr74x726/PVPanamaAmpModel.mp3 Edit: I also meant to say that for this clip, I did not change the input settings to guitar/variax instead of guitar/same, so changing that may help, too.
  23. Hello! Can anyone help me? I have a POD XT LIVE and I bought the METAL PACK like a year ago, now I Own a POD HD500x, and I want to transfer that pack to my new POD, I already registered my gear but the license manager doesn't show me this option, Is this possible? How can I do this? Thanks!
  24. Global EQ is used for compensating for the wide disparity in acoustic environments on tour or when traveling from studio to studio, and is applied to all setlists and presets. Global EQ features three fully parametric bands plus variable low and high cut filters. This feature is not available in the HD editor programs used via computer. To access Global EQ: Press and hold the VIEW button to open the Setup Menu. Using the four-way, cursor right until you see the Global EQ screen. Turn Knob 1 to select the desired EQ band (Low Cut, Low, Mid, High, High Cut) andturn Knobs 2, 3, and/or 4 to adjust the selected band. To bypass or enable Global EQ, press ENTER. NOTE—Due to L6 LINK’s flexible routing, Global EQ is not available at this output.
  25. I am rehearsing with my symphonic metal band, and we are searching for a way to monitor our backing tracks. Is there a way to use the POD studio UX1 to send seperate stereo signals to the Phones and analog out outputs?
