I have tried and re-tried but can't seem to get this done. My laptop runs win7. I've got Monkey at 1.71, updated the USB firmware to 1.04, re-booted both POD and laptop ad nauseum, even turned off my Norton... but whenever Monkey tries to update the FW, it thinks it's successful yet shows the driver at 4.2.5.1. My goal is to get my hd500 from 2.32 to 2.62, but I don't want to even attempt this if I can't even get the drivers to update. Anybody got any ideas? Also, when updating the POD Flash Memory, am I supposed to hold down a nav button and power it on somewhere in the process? THANKS (in advance)!

Hi all! I'm new to the forum, although i use line 6 gear's for some time. I was user of Line 6 pod XT and right now i have pod HD500 (i also have AMP from line6). My main guitar gear is Ibanez 350 DX and i use two programs for recording/mixing: Reaper and Reason (only for MIDI stuff). I did research in presets all over the web. I found interesting stuff in download on this site, in Youtube etc. The problem is that i can't reach where i want in rhythmic and leads sound and maybe you can help with that. For first i will show you the sound that i think will be great to have (or at least close to that): For rythm section: https://youtu.be/aomNA4sBTSM?t=44s- i think this is really clear, strong guitar sound For solo: - great play but also a nice tone. Good thing is that he plays it on pod 500, but i don't know how he record that stuff. My record way is right now: Guitar-Cable to guitar input-POD-USB Cable-Computer I use Reaper as i mentioned before and orginal ASIO drivers from line6 If you tell that it will be huge difference with other way to recording then i will consider this, but i want to know about all the necessary stuff like cables, second interface or microphone etc. that i should buy. Yesterday i record something: https://soundcloud.com/artur-futerko/chuj/s-6ombe#t=0:42 It is only test. I used some presets from line6 download and i did a little bit of edit in Reaper (equalizer). I know that guitar is a little bit out of tune and i also play some random stuff - it was only messing with POD. Here is some of my old stuff, but this was recorded on Pod XT: https://soundcloud.com/artur-futerko/futerko-steel-for-humans-witcher-3-metal-cover-percievalmarcin-przybylowicz https://soundcloud.com/artur-futerko/futerko-heart-of-courage-two-steps-from-hell-metal-remix PS. I recorded also electro-acoustic guitar on POD and i use stock effect for acoustic and it sound really great!

Hi All, I'm having a problem with using my POD HD Pro for recording into Garageband that just recently began to persist and I have yet to find a solution for it. I'll describe my situation below, please help me if you can. Thanks! Setup: POD HD Pro Rack Garageband Macbook Pro (late '08/'09) OS X v10.10 (Yosemite) I normally record guitars and bass through my POD HD Pro rack and have just recently run into a problem with it. Usually, I'll plug in my POD via USB and in Garageband, it'll play through both sides of my headphones. Then, just a couple days ago, when I would pop the tuner on, tune up, then tap the tuner back off, the sound would be completely gone, not monitoring at all when there was just sound. So I would close my session, power off my POD, unplug, replug and turn it back on. Then it would work until I used the tuner again. I repeated this process a couple of times and then my POD began to only monitor through the right channel of Garageband. If I would pan the track hard left, there would be absolutely no sound. If I panned hard right, there would be the same amount of sound on the right from 100%-0% pan. Additionally, I removed the POD from the audio track and switched my input to the laptop's microphone and it monitors through both headphones as normal. Any ideas on why this is happening? I've plugged my headphones into the POD directly and it monitors through both sides of my headphones perfectly. Any help on this issue is much appreciated. Is it possible that a USB output setting on the POD glitched off by accident? Thanks, Erik

Ciao a tutti!

Hi guys! I'm sure this question has been answered before but i searched and searched and couldn't find any info on it. I'm wanting to have different loops saved into different patches. So when you go to a patch, a patch-specific loop plays. I have no idea if this is possible or not but I knew this would be the best place to ask. Thanks!

Hello. I own a Pocket POD with firmware version 1.01. I've been playing with puredata sending MIDI messages to the POD controlling things like volume and wah position. I'm facing something I believe to be a bug on the firmware. Upon receiving lots of MIDI messages (~9/sec), the POD reboots itself both on batteries and power supply. It shouldn't be a fault with my computer (I'm running everything on Linux Mint 17.2 with no additional drivers) since it works at smaller speeds. I tried resflashing the latest firmware 'just in case' today. Around 2 years ago I managed to burn an internal capacitor on it's power stage by misconnecting the power supply. Even tough Line6Hugo said "The Pocket POD is not repairable", I managed to replace the burnt component (which Line6 wouldn't tell me the value of). Everything works fine by now, except that my Pocket POD turns on even with no guitar plugged in, which for me is not a big deal. I just want to know if this is a firmware bug or hardware related. I'm willing to cooperate as much as possible, since MIDI is a supported feature and should be working. Thank you in advance. PS.: pic related. My pocket POD and a second capacitor I bought just in case I blow it again.

Hey all. So I've got a 6 channel interface. I use all 6 inputs for drums. Would I be able to utilize the S/pdif connections on both my interface and the pod? What input, in logic, would I have to pick in order to record what my Pod is sending through the s/pdif?

so i just bought a new variax standard to use with my pod hd500. everything seems to be working fine other than i can't save any guitar models to the presets on the pod. for example, if i wanted to change from a lester on one patch then switch to acoustic on another. the tunings change, the knobs can be assigned to certain effects, but for some reason, i can't change the guitar models. any idea why this might be? thanks!

Here is a video I did showing the difference changing only the cab from stock to 3rd party can make. There is no post processing on the guitars at all so you can hear the real difference. All amp settings were kept the same.

How do I get my sound to come out of my computer speakers? I have my POD HD500 plugged in to my computer through USB and through one of the outputs (one end is an instrument cable for the pod, and the other end is a headphone/aux cable for the computer). I've tried messing with the sound settings on my computer, but I don't hear anything when I play. I've seen this done before, so I know it's possible. I don't even think I need a USB for it, but I've tried it without one as well. Please help.

Hi everyone! I just bought a line 6 POD HD500X pedal and I've read some posts from this forum (http://line6.com/support/topic/1672-can-i-utilize-a-usb-3-cable-for-my-pod-x3/ http://line6.com/support/topic/8367-cant-install-drivers-for-pod-hd500x/) I actually have got the same problems as Miguel Marquez in the second post, but it has passed already a year and the thread is not answered. Ok, I only have 1 computer, and the problem (I think) is that all my USB ports are 3.0, but i would like to see what do you guys think, cause probably I may be wrong.

I noticed the other day that on my POD HD500X, which I just bought in April, that the FS2 switch didn't change a couple of times when I pressed it. This was when I was sitting on the floor using my hands as I was using HD500X Edit with my laptop, so it wasn't when I used my foot. The way the footswitches are designed, they click, and then there is still some small distance that they travel downward before they stop. So there is by design a little play between the click point and the stop point. On that one footswitch, I tried pressing it with different amounts of pressure. On all of the other 7 footswitches, the red light changes the very instant that the "click" happens, even if I don't completely push the footswitch all of the way down. On FS2, the red light doesn't always change when the click occurs. I have to press it all of the way down sometimes, while at other times it DOES change right at the point of the click. Now this may seem trivial, and it may be, but I'm asking simply because 1 of 8 footswitches is behaving slightly differently. I think when using my foot I will always use enough pressure to change it, but if this is something that is not normal and could get worse so that it does become a problem, I'd like to know so I can address it. And since it's brand new, I want to make sure that even the slightest thing isn't working incorrectly. So, those of you with a 500X, do you notice the same thing and is this somewhat normal, or do all of the footswitches change exactly at the click rather than when the switch is pressed completely down all of the way?

So bought a GX Pod (Off E-Bay) after I had already upgraded the day before. Besides the fact the Line 6 Monkey will not let me register I also get this error message in Audacity, Reaper and the included software or a variation: Error while opening sound device. Please check the input device settings and the project sample rate. So any ideas on what I can do? The Line 6 does show up in the input/output, but every time I try and hit record the above shows up.... Love the tones etc but if I cannot record what's the point? Any help would be appreciated.

Merci beaucoup.

I have a DT-50 212 and POD HD500X. For me, the best sound is to connect the guitar directly to the amp! That's it: Pure Analog Tube sound! And the DT-50 sounds great. Having said that: 1) I like the fact that only two cables are needed for them to be connected: guitar input jack and XLR for L6Link. Great. BUT once the guitar is connected to the POD, the signal is digitallized, right? It might be 24bit 48kHz, but you're losing tone (harmonics at least) for a start. Even in tunning mode? 2) What I need now is to have the DT-50 to make all the sounds. I mean, NO EMULATIONS/SIMULATIONS of any amp clean or distorted by the POD. How can I do that? So, the POD HD500X would simply be a controller of the DT-50, switching channels, from a clean to a crunch, from one voicing to another, from a rhythm sound to a solo and higher volume sound, etc. 3) After accomplish (2), then use the POD HD500X to add just simple effects as needed. Like a delay for a solo, or a wah, etc. If I can't make the (2) then I will sell the POD HD500X and buy some (analog) pedals. Thanks in advance.

Hi folks, I followed all the instructions (both video and manual) from Line6 and yt and I'm nowhere near to be able to control pitch shift (like Whammy) or Wah pedal in my chain of effects. What I do: 1. Put Wah pedal in chain of my preset, enter the switch assignment options and choose toe pedal to control wah effect 2. Result: effect is always on, and moving the expression pedal doesn't change anything In pre-made presets however I do can control volume level of some presets, and I also can control VOL level in my own made preset. I did calibrated pedal before using the POD HD500X What Am I possibly doing wrong?

Hi, sorry if this has been answered previously... Will Helix (HX) Modeling Engine ever be available in POD Desktop Bean Format in the foreseeable future? Any insight would be much appreciated, thanks!

So, I'm fairly new to recording. I just got an apple mac mini and I just installed Logic Pro X since it's really the only daw I've had any experience with. I really just need to know how to set up my POD HD Pro X to use as an interface. I hooked it up via USB and turned it on, but when I go in to the set output/input device, it doesn't show up as an option. I actually can't set the input to anything, only the output has the option to change. I've had the POD since Christmas, I haven't used it as anything other than an amp. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Holy crap! Just got my Trio tonight and straight out of the box it is the most fun pedal I have ever owned. Easy to setup and use, I got the extra 3 button switch to go with it. I set up a patch with my guitar in channel A and the FX loop in channel B feeding the Trio. Dummy plug in the Trio amp output and feed the Trio mixer output back into channel B. (that is only the drums and bass) Put a reverb after the bass and drums and center the mixer block. It sounds fantastic! Only through headphones so far but I am stoked. Played a funky chord sequence and it picked it up perfectly. Sweep through the different styles and genres and get things I wouldn't have thought of on my own, all synced perfectly. Changes tempo no problem. This is going to take my practice, playing and song writing to a whole new level... Is there a way to set up the wah pedal on the pod HD500 to "switch" like a morley wah? i.e. toe up equals off, slight toe down movement turns it on then full sweep from the "on" point. Thanks!
