  1. Really pleased with my new Pod Express Guitar pedal - the sound quality and features for the price are astounding. It has quality sounds/FX, amp/cabinet simulation, Looper, Headphone output and it runs on batteries - I don't think any other product can do that in such a small/economical unit. The only very minor frustration was that I cannot assign the external footswitch to start/stop the looper - which would be really handy if you prefer the Pod Express on a stand so you can tweak the settings. Failing that just having a count-in for the looper (at the tap tempo) or a start the recording when you play something mode/setting would make using the looper using your hands so much easier. In meantime I just start the looper and begin playing on beat 2, 3 or 4, then add the missing notes/chords on the next pass - I did try every option on the foot-pedals as I was hoping the enable/disable delay option would do the trick. But still an amazing unit as it is :)
  2. If POD Express not connecting or you have a failed update process, please try out these steps with either Line 6 Central, OR POD Express Edit. 1. Open Line 6 Central- Verify that you have the latest version installed 2. Connect POD Express to computer with the USB-C connection 3. Update mode: Press and hold both Footswitches as you plug in power connection, or 1/4" cable for the guitar input. 4. You should get a “Generic Device Detected” popup. Click ‘Identify’. With POD Express Edit, you may need to click the cloud icon on the top left corner. 5. Choose the POD Express from the devices shown. 6. Reinstall the latest firmware. 7. Follow the prompts once the firmware installation is complete. 8. Perform Factory Reset(optional). Factory Reset: Press and hold both Footswitches and plug in power (with NO USB connection)
  3. Wondering if anyone knows if a manual for the Original red kidney bean pod is available online? Thanks!
  4. Hey everyone. I've been an UX 2 user for almost 7 years and never had a problem, until now. I bought a new computer with an I7 13700, 32 Gb ram and etc... a high-end system. 1st thing I did was installing my UX 2 and podfarm 2. I got the guitar and there is just a buzzing, piercing noise coming from the speakers and I am desperate since I have no idea how to get it sorted and what is the conflict. Tried also with STL to check if it was Pod farm but nah, same thing. Terrible noise. I've checked the settings over and over but can't figure what is wrong. Downloaded ASIO also, just in case but nothing, same story. With my old computer (almost 9 years old) everything worked perfectly. With this new one there must be something I am missing, I guess/hope. Any idea what could it be? This is just so frustrating. Thanks
  5. The display of my POD HD 500 is stuck with "UPDATE FLASH" on screen, and nothing more. I've tried to reinstall Flash Memory, I've reinstalled Line 6 monkey, all Drivers and etc, and nothing works. I even tried do Reset (or whatever) by pressing the LEFT button (or any other button) while powering it on, but nothing happens. Just the screen with the "UPDATE FLASH" message, even if it is not plugged into the computer. If someone knows what to do to make it work again, please tell me.
  6. I just bought a pod go and was looking at which headphones to buy. Looking at the FAQ it says the headphone impedance output is 63 ohms?? That can't possibly be right can it? The helix floor is 12 ohms. Why is the pod go more than 5 times higher? Using the rule of 8, that would mean you need to use headphones with over 500 ohm load with the entry level pod. Did the FAQ mean we should use headphones with over 63 ohms? I'm really confused.
  7. Q: What are the presets on the Pocket POD? A: The PDF document attached at the bottom of this FAQ lists all of the Pocket POD presets from 1A to 31D. Q: What is the warranty on my Pocket POD? A: The warranty on the Pocket POD is 90 days from the date of purchase. Q: Can I purchase model packs for my Pocket POD? A: No, Line 6 model packs are only available for our Guitarport, Toneport, POD Studio and POD xt family devices. Q: How do I reset my Pocket POD back to factory presets? A: To reset your Pocket POD back to its factory settings, hold the save button and 4-way arrow key up while plugging a cable into the instrument input to power the unit on. The unit will prompt for a factory reset, press save to initiate the factory reset. Q: Can I connect the Pocket POD directly to a P.A. system? A: Yes. You can run a 3.5 mm (1/8")cable directly into a PA. Pocket POD also has one unbalanced 1/4" output that can be connected through a DI box directly into a PA system. Q: Is there editing software available for my Pocket POD? A: Yes. You can download a software editor called Vyzex which was specifically designed to work with Pocket POD, from our software page http://www.line6.com/software/. Please note that this software is no longer supported by Vyzex or Line 6. Q: Which tones from customtone.com work with the Pocket POD? A: The POD 2.0, POD Pro, Floor POD Plus, and Pocket POD tones are all compatable with the Pocket POD. These tones can be downloaded and installed to your Pocket POD with the Vyzex editing software. See the following link to get to Customtone: Customtone Q: What power supply works with Pocket POD? A: The Line 6 DC-1/2/1G power supply (purchased separately from your local dealer) is the supported power supply for the Pocket POD. See the following link for more information: Power Supply and Amp Power F.A.Q. Q: Is the Pocket POD compatible with any Line 6 or standard MIDI controller? A: No, the Pocket POD is not compatible with any Line 6 or standard MIDI foot controller, as it lacks the CAT 5 or MIDI jacks necessary to connect a controller. Q: My Pocket POD is not powering up? 1) The POD was designed to work with standard (mono) 1/4" cables when the cable is inserted into the "input" jack. Check to make sure you are not plugging a TRS cable into your Pocket POD. 2) Check to ensure that batteries are inserted correctly and the springs are lining up. 3) Try using a supported power supply to see if the unit will power. If the unit powers up with an adaptor, try changing the batteries. Q: My Pocket POD reboots when changing power source while connected via USB? A: Changing the power source of your Pocket POD while connected via USB will cause the unit to reboot and its Class Compliant driver to drop its MIDI ports. It is not recommended you change your Pocket POD power source while connected via USB. Q: Where can I get Vyzex software support? A: Please note that this software is no longer supported by Vyzex or Line 6. Q: Why is cabinet tuning not working? A: This bug was fixed in the 1.01 Pocket POD update. Please see the instructions on how to update your Pocket POD below. Q: Why do delay changes not call up model default tap tempo? A: This bug was fixed in the 1.01 Pocket POD update. Please see the instructions on how to update your Pocket POD below. Q: Where can I register my Pocket POD? A: You can register your Pocket POD by logging on to www.line6.com. Once logged on, go to the My Account section of the site and then click on the Registered Gear link off to the left hand side. Q: Where is the serial number on my Pocket POD? A: The serial number of your Pocket POD can be found inside the battery-housing compartment behind the top right battery. Q: How do I update the flash memory on my Pocket POD? A: Connect your PocketPod Via USB to your computer, then run the Line 6 Monkey application. If your software is out of date (or you want to reflash for trouble shooting purposes), you will want to update using the following directions. 1) Select the "flash memory" to highlight (in blue), then select "update selection". 2) If Monkey asks you to register your gear, you can select "remind me later". 3) Select "I Accept" for the software agreement and select "continue". 4) Follow the directions, then select "OK" 5) Select "yes" to continue. 6) Wait for the flash memory to update and be installed. 7) Turn your Pocket POD Off, then on, then select "OK". Q: My update stopped in the middle of the process? A: During the Pocket POD update using the Line 6 Monkey software on a Windows Vista (32-bit and 64-bit) machine, the update may stop and will not continue. This may occur on certain USB ports. This issue can be verified if the progress bar stops partway through the update. Note: If the update does stop, the system will not respond to requests to shutdown the computer, even after force quitting monkey. After disconnecting the Pocket POD, the system can be shutdown. The Pocket POD remains in boot mode after this occurs. Reconnecting to Monkey and re-installing the firmware update does recover the Pocket POD. Please make sure to test the Pocket POD on every USB port on your computer while troubleshooting this issue. Completely remove any USB hubs, even if not in use. PocketPOD Presets.pdf

Installed monkey, drivers, and it installs as unknown device. If I go in the driver properties, I see Mbox instead of Line 6 Pod hd300. I manually switch it to the correct one and it's still not detected by monkey or hd300 edit. I'm on windows 8 64-bit. Tried multiple usb plugs: usb 2.0, 3.0, 2.0 with speed charging. Always the same. Also tried multiple versions of monkey and the driver, always from a clean install. Nothing. Here's what I get, seems monkey never sees the driver installed even though I see it in device manager. I also have a ticket open and didn't get a reply for a week now... Here it is: Pod HD300 Firmware 1.10 Connecting through USB to 2 different computer with Windows 8 64-bit, latest drivers and monkey. Not recognized. Driver is being installed as Unknown Device. If I go check the properties, it says the unknown device has the driver of a Digidesign Mbox. When manually changing the driver, it doesn't go through. Tried reverting to previous drivers and monkey, still not detected in Monkey. This is on both computers. Help please! thank you
  10. Originally, Pocket POD included a USB-mini cable that allowed for connection to the third-party editor software Vyzex. Please note that while the Vyzex editor software is freely available to download from www.Line6.com/software, it is no longer supported by its publisher Psicraft nor Line 6. As such, a USB-mini cable is no longer included in the box. We have found that a number of Pocket POD boxes mentioning the cable were shipped, despite those boxes not including the cable. For those in this scenario wishing to still use Vyzex, a USB-mini cable can be sourced at many online retailers. USB-mini cables are not available from Line 6.
  11. Greetings all and happy new year! I recently discovered a POD XT I purchased a while back and was in the process of updating it and the firmware update wasn't possible because I'm missing the correct cable. I'm connected to my Macbook Pro via USB. Also how can I tell which firmware is currently installed? I've looked but none of the things I read about and try seem to work.
  12. The POD Go loads into the frozen bean silhouette with no progress upon starting. Went through installing go edit for the drivers, Line 6 updater, starting the POD in update mode with the updater in DXP-NFU, and using multiple computers and USB cables. No matter the combination, the firmware update fails. I get to where the PC says installing firmware update and the POD says updating, but the progress bar never even fills at all and the firmware update failed error always follows.
  13. Hi Guys, I bought my new POD HD 500X about a week ago, and since then i encountered a blue screen issue which happened twice already. The issue occurs while plugging out the POD USB cable from my computer. This makes me very nerves since the main reason i bought the POD HD 500X is for recording and mostly using it with my PC..also i'm worried those errors are causing damage to my PC. Here is the error i got from the blue screen (shared from blue screen viewer): ================================================== Dump File : 012515-18158-01.dmp Crash Time : 1/25/2015 10:21:09 PM Bug Check String : SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION Bug Check Code : 0x0000003b Parameter 1 : 00000000`c0000005 Parameter 2 : fffff800`02ed415e Parameter 3 : fffff880`0dd7dcb0 Parameter 4 : 00000000`00000000 Caused By Driver : ntoskrnl.exe Caused By Address : ntoskrnl.exe+76e80 File Description : NT Kernel & System Product Name : Microsoft® Windows® Operating System Company : Microsoft Corporation File Version : 6.1.7601.18700 (win7sp1_gdr.141211-1742) Processor : x64 Crash Address : ntoskrnl.exe+76e80 Stack Address 1 : Stack Address 2 : Stack Address 3 : Computer Name : Full Path : C:\Windows\Minidump\012515-18158-01.dmp Processors Count : 4 Major Version : 15 Minor Version : 7601 Dump File Size : 321,248 Dump File Time : 1/25/2015 10:22:37 PM ================================================== Here is my computer (desktop) settings: windows 7 64 bit Intel Core i5 4690 3.5Ghz 6MB L3 Cache s1150 Asus H97M-PLUS G.Skill Ares 2x4GB DDR3 1600Mhz Asus GTX750 Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 64MB 7200RPM Sata III I tried asking line 6 support but they didn't respond..please if you know what's causing this and how to solve this issue let me know, Thank you.

  15. Hello to you all, I'm owner of a POD HD500X, i had it since Christmas 2014. Still in excellent physical hardware conditions, majorly home-use. I've notice something very peculiar throughout the years, and is that the display has loose some "contrast" from its original parameters. For better understanding I attached a video showing what I'm referring to. In essence, the default LED CONTRAST parameter in the setup page 2, which is 28, On my POD doesn't look that great. Nevertheless, when you set it on the 40-45 range looks really great. Obviously I didn't perform a Factory Reset and no luck. I know some of you are maybe thinking "if your display looks great by just adjusting the LED contrast, whats the big issue here?" My question: It's not normal for a display present this rare behavior ¿its my display slowly "dying"? ¿is it a progressive issue where possibly the LED set at 40-45, right now present goog quality in the future will look awful, as it did one with the default led constrast 28? I'm not interested in spending on a new console unless this one gets faulty like a future bad display. Thank you in advanced, PODDISPLAY.mp4
  16. Hey everyone! Long time HD Pro user and fan here. So this unit has now been retired to a specific project I'm part of and I was wondering if it's possible to rename banks using the edit software? (Not just the individual patches/presets or the setlist, but the numbered bank that is made up of 4 patches). By default these are assigned number but the act I'm part of now is very FX heavy so it would be great to customize and dedicate a bank of 4 presets to a specific song and have that also show up on my mk2 floorboard for live shows. Anyone who can answer this will be rewarded with a crisp digital high 5 from yours truly! Thanks in advance!
  17. So I just bought a Pod HD500X and it has this problem that many people seem to be having with it. Often, it will reboot itself randomly over and over again until I unplug it or, occasionally, until I stop playing. I am using the provided power supply and not only have I tried other 500x power supplies but I went to guitar center and bought a new one and it's doing the same thing. Basically I haven't seen this problem resolved so I'm posting this hoping to figure out a solution for everybody who's struggling with these faulty Pods. Notes: I've rebooted myself, holding down the left arrow while plugging in power, to no avail. I've tried updating using Line 6 monkey, but it doesn't show up in the list of devices.
  18. Hello all, I need a replacement for the battery compartment door for my Pocket Pod. Does anyone know where I can get one of these in Finland? I found only one store but they don't deliver my contry. Thanks for your help.
  19. Am a session musician and although I play lots of instruments I play bass most of the time, I have one of the new James Tyler variax guitars and I must say its a vast improvement and is one of my must have guitars I take it everywhere. I personally would love you to do a new version of the variax bass to have one in my arsenal would make my life a lot more easy, Would love to hear all of your thoughts on the idea and what it must have for example sounds and the desine of the bass ?
  20. Hey! So I've been dealing with this issue for seriously a year or two, but it's gotten insane the past couple months where it's every single time I start up my computer. Needed to finally make a topic since it's never been described exactly like this for me. Here is a video link to see what's happening: (If there's a more preferred way to share this just let me know please) Dropbox Link for UX2 Hiss Video I will need to unplug and replug my interface in for an unknown amount of times before the issue resolves itself. Sometimes it breaks the driver and I reinstall the UX2 drivers to get rid of the blinking red lights and it works again for the time I have my computer booted up. The noises vary but are similar. Some high pitched, some with a rhythmic pulse like it could be the power source, I have a battery backup surge protector everything runs through. Others sound like a High-Pass is on it, and some are bassy. Never know what you're going to turn the monitors on for and hear. I've tried switching the ports I've plugged into, taking every other plug of my UX2 out and replugged them in with varying orders, turning knobs while having it plugged in and out, etc. I have Mackey MR5s if that gives any help somehow. And I have attached an HTML and TXT file for my CPU info from CPU-Z KYLE-NZXT-DESKT.html KYLE-NZXT-DESKT.txt
  21. I would like to know if it's possible to connect my Boya BY-M1 TRRS lavalier microphone into the XLR output of the Pod UX1 using a 3.5mm to XLR adapter. I am starting to give online guitar classes, but I am having a hard time making my mic and guitar work together on Zoom. Since this mic has a 3.5mm cable, I'm plugging it into the headphone/mic output of my laptop, but in Zoom I have to choose from the drop-down menu if I want the output to come from the Pod UX1 or from the laptop output, leaving me either with just the guitar sound or the mic sound only. Any help will be much appreciated.
  22. Hey all, first post here, hopefully I am in the right forum for this question. Can anyone here confirm if the amp models in the plugin POD Farm Platinum are the same as the ones that could be found in the POD HD500X or POD HD PRO X with the add-on model packs? Trying to figure out if the plugin or the hardware is the more reasonable purchase for myself. Thanks!
  23. Yesterday, I finally got my HD300 to work by plugging it in via usb. I went on the line6 website and installed some audio drivers and it worked perfectly. I turned my pc off when I went to bed and now that I've turned it back on, it doesn't work. I tried installing drivers for it with the line6 monkey, but that doesn't seem to work either. Is there a way that I need to manually execute the drivers upon rebooting my computer or is it just broken? Any help is appreicated.
  24. Hey all, I know this is a common topic but I still haven't found a satisfying answer so I'm going to ask it... How can I remove the tone coloring that occurs on the HD500X when in stompbox mode and all effects (and amp models) are OFF? I can tell when I go to the tuner and use the bypass mode that with all effects off, the 500X is still affecting my tone. In tuner bypass mode, the signal to amp is dry and unaffected do the 500x *should* be capable of not coloring my signal. In regular play, with all fx off and the amp model disabled, the tone is darker and the signal is weaker. This is really frustrating because what I wanted the 500X is for it's stompbox effects not an amp modeler. I know about the 4 cable method and using the modeling for the preamp toy amp, but that will be a last resort. I just really want the effects and my amp's tone! Please help! I started playing guitar in 1989 just a few months before Flying in a Blue Dream was released. I was reading all the guitar magazines at that time and Satch was on the cover of every single one! Surfing with the Alien was the first tab book I bought at the local music store. I can't really play anything like Satch but he was such an inspiration to me that I certainly spent many hours trying! This history is why it was such a special set of tones for me to work on.
