Please help! Popping and banging when changing effects. Other glitches include: Poly sustain freaking out and sustaining previous chords, also a random global settings change where tapping up and down on bank mode just went through each bank individually rather than up/down a page. None of this happened before in previous software, also I re-installed previous firmware and it all worked normally. Have reset to factory multiple times (with and without using my old back ups) and updated using both Line 6 updater and HX Edit Update: after loads of updates and exploration i've found that it may just be when the Kinky Boost is selected, the reverbs bang when you scroll through them. Does anyone else have this issue? -
Hi I have a problem with my HX effects. It is popping from preset to preset but not on all of them. My amp is a EVH 5150iii. I am using 4cm and I am switching the amp via midi (BankPC) It is not doing it on all the B presets. I think that is a bit strange. Is there any thing I can do to make this go away? Or what am I doing wrong? Please help me solve this problem :-)

Attempting to record some voice-over work with my Helix. Aston Origin/48v. Don't have access to my other audio interfaces as I'm on the road. During recording everything sounds fine(great in fact), but when I playback there are a substantial amount of clicks and pops. Specs: Acer VX-15 i7 7700 16gb RAM Studio One V3 Professional(v3.5) Helix(2.21) Line 6 1.86 Drivers Running Helix into USB3.0 16bit/44.1 Have adjusted buffer from 128-2048 with no difference. Again, during recording the clicks and pops aren't present. Just during playback. I've used this setup with my home desktop with no issues, checked the USB cable and its all good. Am I missing something?? Thanks,

I feel like I have wasted my well earned money on this line 6 spider iv 120 and fbv mkii! there is popping when changing channels and volumes on presets are at eardrum bursting levels. I see this is a common problem and cant find a fix i wish i had known about these problems before I bought this amp such a pity i really enjoy the tones........will be posting this on other websites in hope for a fix! :unsure: :angry: :(

Hi I updated my MacMini (end 2012 with internal 750Gb SSD) to OS X 10.9.1. I am using a Line6 UX2 with drivers 7.3.6 (Monkey : 1.65) I ma using Logic X (last version) And I have big crackling and popping issues when I try to record my guitar or bass (on both instrument inputs). I tried to make a bigger buffer in the system prefs and/or Logic X, but it changes nothing. Impossible to have a "clean" recording without a periodic crackling noise (periodicity depending on the buffer size, from aprox 0.3 to 1 second space) The only way to get it clean again is : 1/ to deactivate "core audio" in Logic X. But then I loose all the cool guitar and bass effects... and that's (partly) why I bought Logic in the first place !! 2/ I plug my little Apogee Jam (which I bought for my iPad) and there i gat Logic Audio working perfectly !! But I bought mu Line6 UX2 to use it !!! So please people : fix the UX2 drivers for Maverick !! Or tell me what's wrong with my UX2 ? I provide a sample of the sound. Guitare crackling.wav -
Hi, I have a Spider IV 150 HD head and cab. It is about 3 years old, and I've used it for tons of shows. Recently, especially after unloading it after a show, when I plug in my guitar, it acts like it is going to work, then the volume will go off, then come back in short burst lasting no more than a second or two. When I try to hit a note or strum the guitar, it makes a popping sound, but if I hold the note, the volume will act fine for a few seconds, then go off again. This will happen very randomly. I can sit and practice for 2 hours, then it will start acting up and won't work again for a while. Then it will randomly starting working fine again and be fine for days or even weeks. I've been very careful with it when unloading it and using it. Although it has been used in very cold and very hot temperatures. I have some important shows coming up, and don't want this to randomly start happening in the middle of the performance, so was just wondering if there was anything I could do to prevent this. I am going to try a factory reset, but it could be days before I know it this truly worked. Not sure if this matters but the guitars that this has happened with are an ESP LTD EC-1000FR and a Sterling JP-70. Thanks for any help!

The Spider Valve Mk II series of amplifiers are designed for live performance environments, especially the 100 watt version of the amp. There are rare use cases where, when the volume is set very low ( like an apartment, or bedroom), and specific combinations of Channel and Master Volume are set, the possibility for popping noises when switching between certain patches is present. These noises are brief and, in most cases, are not very loud, depending on the patch configuration. As this is not the normal use case environment that this amplifier was designed for, Line 6 will not be addressing this specific issue on this model.

Q: How can I reduce hum/noise/feedback when playing? -Single coils pickups used with higher gain settings will often cause noise. Try combining two pickups via the pick-up selector or trying a different guitar to see if the situation is the same. Make sure all the input and output jacks are tight. Check the instrument with different pickup settings to make sure it is not a bad pickup connection. -Higher gain settings tend to be the cause of many noise and feedback issues, try to dial the gain back on your amp a bit. Remember that heavy-rock bands often triple track (or more) when recording to create a thicker sound. -Turn your volume knob off when you are not playing (even during stops in a song when possible). -Turn off other volume controls not being used (i.e. volume trim pots) -Use the highest quality cables you can afford, and the shortest distance you can live with. RF can create many noises that can be eliminated with well shielded cables. -Experiment with distance and position between your guitar and amplifier/recording rig. - Avoid florescent lighting when possible. - Make sure that your instrument/rig is plugged into the same power source as the rest of your gear/band/PA system (to avoid ground loops). - User a power conditioner/regulator to filter RF and keep the voltage constant. - Experiment with the noise gate feature on your Line 6 unit or use an external noise gate. Q: I hear a "popping" sound when I turn my amp on, is this normal? How do I reduce the popping sound I hear when I turn my amp on? A: The popping sound is normal as it is a ramp of up the switch mode power supply. You can lessen the effect by: i) not having the input plugged in (disengaging the preamp section). ii) having the master volume turned all the way down (lowering the power amp output).
