  1. A Catalyst may seem "dead" if a firmware update fails to complete itself. If the Catalyst fails to update: Power down the amp and close the Updater app. Open the Updater again, then power up the Catalyst while holding A and B to put the unit into bootloader mode. You will then need to manually select the correct Catalyst product from three choices presented by the Updater. Select the latest firmware version, then accept the Terms and Conditions. After the update is complete, power down your Catalyst amplifier, then “RESET” the amplifier by holding down the “B” and “MANUAL” channel buttons while turning the power switch back on.
  2. I have had a legacy Variac acoustic 700 model that came with the power supply kit (pedal with switch, XLR out and TR out that comes with the stereo cord to supply power to the guitar). It's been issue-free since I bought it about 8 years ago. I rarely use it with the battery pack due to its short life. Recently I turned it on through the power unit's XLR output and all I got was mega distortion and noise coming out. I checked all the connections and they were good. I tried the TR output from the power unit with the same results. I replaced the XLR cable and tried a different channel in my PA and got the same results. I tried a soft reset of the guitar (sitar setting and plug stereo cable in while holding in button). This did not fix it. I tried cleaning all the inputs with pot cleaner - did not help. I finally tried putting batteries in and used a TR cable straight into the PA. That did the trick and it worked and sounded fine. I deduced the power supply kit was the culprit. To that end I checked the TX going into the unit and it measured approx 10 V AC which should be good. I checked the end of the TRS cable that goes into the guitar and it measured only 7V DC. I'm thinking it should be 9VDC as the battery pack with the 6 AA batteries provides 9V BUT I removed the board inside the power supply unit and the trace corresponding to the ring of the stereo input cable has a print on the board stamped as 7V. So I'm confused? It seems to me a 7VDC output could be causing all the distortion and noise. Shouldn't the TRS cable "ring" be outputting 9VDC to the guitar? I would like to buy another unit power supply kit but research has showed they are no longer made or sold and impossible to find? I could possibly build myself a unit that provides 9V DC to the ring of the stereo cord and provides a TR output to the PA at the same time but I need to know if that ring is supposed to carry 9VDC or 7VDC? Thanks guitarmanpercy
  3. The power cord for the Pod Go is not really road worthy - as well, I like to have both a back up cord: a cord I leave at my studio at home as well as one in my Gig back. Besides being back ordered, they are also very expensive. Does any have suggestions on options other then buying a direct replacement (which can't be done right now)? Also, the DC-3h unit is 9V 3A - is it ok to use one with higher amps (ie: 9V 4A)? How about one with fewer amps - 9V 2A? Is there a range that will work 3A +/- 14% or some other Percentage? Right now playing with just one cord and that is risky............. Any help/advice is greatly appreciated.
  4. If you are having trouble with your DL-4 MkII stompbox modeler, please try the following: - Use a different guitar, cables, and amp to make sure they are individually working correctly. - Remove all other pedals between your instrument and the amplifier. Ensure that: - The cables you are using to test work correctly by plugging directly from the instrument into the amplifier. - All jacks and nuts on the pedal are tight. - The unit is receiving sufficient power from the correct power supply (fresh batteries or a Line 6 DC-3g, DC-3h or DC-1g). Do not use old batteries to test pedals. - Reset the pedal by pressing the A and 'Tap' footswitches while inserting the power connector and powering on. Continue to hold the switches for approximately 8 seconds, until you see the green LEDs light up. - The last thing to try is to reinstall the firmware. Go to https://line6.com/software/index.html, choose "DL4 MkII" and "Firmware" from the menus, then follow the directions listed with the latest firmware entry. If you are still having difficulty you will need to have the unit repaired at an Authorized Service Center. All Line 6 Pedals carry a 12 month parts and labor warranty from the date of purchase from an Authorized Retailer. Please take a copy of the dated proof of purchase to ensure the warranty is covered. 6. Hello, Does anyone know where i'd be able to get an XPS-AB or an XPS Mini, I cannot seem to find any listed anywhere
  7. Does anyone have a recommendation for a replacement power cable for a G10S wireless? Thanks.
  8. 2 POD HD500X issues during outside rehearsal for upcoming event. 1) volume pedal not working. 2) display stays on edit mode — as if I’m turning amp volume knobs — but am not touching anything. Preventing pedal on/off, patch switches. Any ideas? Playing on 40’ flatbed trailer. No overhead cover — exposed to sunlight. Weather: dry 50 degrees, sunny. POD and 4 external pedals plugged into power strip —> extension cord —> main power strip for band —> extension cord —> building power source. Input from sound engineer — either sunlight effecting or not enough power. POD purchased 2018.
  9. Hi everyone, I hope you can help me. My Uber Metal line6 pedal is not turning on. The light goes green and immediately it goes red, flashes red a couple of times and goes off. I tried with a battery and a 9v adapter but the same thing happens. Any help is appreciated!
  10. I'm trying to power my Firehawk and another small stomp box off the same PSU. The Firehawk one says it is good for 3000mA, which in my experience (having powered multiple stomp boxes from a single 1000mA supply in the past) should be enough for the Firehawk and then some, but when I try to daisy-chain the power with a splitter cable I get horrible hum/digitial whine on my signal. One usual cause for this is drawing too much power from one PSU by connecting multiple pedals, but like I say I've had several pedals happily powered from one 1000mA supply in the past, so my question is, how much power does the Firehawk actually draw, and is my over-drawing of current the reason behind this hum/whine, or it is something else (like a ground loop issue or my splitter cable needing to be grounded better or something)?? I'd love to know because I'd rather not have to take up TWO spots on my power strip just to power my Firehawk and a tuner pedal or something....
  11. So randomly today, my Helix will not power on. I turned it on and the usual Helix splash screen came up, and then a few seconds later it looked all warped/glitchy, and then there was nothing but a blank screen (see pic attached). I just got this/registered it in February and opened a support ticket. Anyone else have the same issue or anything similar? I realllly don't want to have to buy another one, and hope Line6 can fix/replace this unit! -Andrew
  12. First off, I have the original power supply for my PodXT LIVE (that I am the only owner of) and it's 100% functional. I built a power supply from a Weber power transformer that has eight 9vdc 300mA outputs and one 9vac 2A output. I plug the cable I made into the 9vac output on my supply and measure 9.57vac between the pin and barrel so the supply and the cable are good. However, when I plug that cable into the XT Live the unit does not power up. If I plug in the original power supply it works just fine, but when I measure that, it's output is more like 10.5 vac. Any ideas what could be going on? I figured I would ask first before I start tracing through the power section of the XT live to see what's different about my supply.
  13. Hi all, I was 99% settled on selling off my amp, cab and pedalboard in favour of a Helix, until I realised I would still want to use my G30 wireless system. I'm currently using a TC Electronic G System, which has four super convenient 9v power outputs for powering pedals in it's various loops. I was frankly amazed at what looks like a huge oversight in the design of the Helix, that while it is designed to be an "all-in-one" solution it does have the option to loop in other pedals yet has no solution to provide power to them. I'm really obsessive about cable management and having everything as neat and tidy as possible on my pedalboards, so the absolute last thing I am willing to do is have some ugly power strip on the back of a pedalboard not only wasting space but also cluttering it up just for the sake of 1 9v power adapter for my wireless. Does anyone know of a reasonably priced product which might offer a tidy and effective power solution to both the 240v Helix requirement, and a single 9v requirement?? Huge thanks in advance!!! Liam
  14. Hi everyone! How can i charge de ipad while using the sonicport(1st version)? Thanks!!
  15. Hello evereyone, I was just confrontaded with a really weird issue with the DT25 Unit. Everytime i left my amp on the rehearsal room for as long as a week disconected from the power due to fire prevention, i found the amp with a really bad issue whem i try to start it again: all the lights from the switches turns on buts no sound comes out of the amp, just a quite noise. On the first time i reeinstalled without trouble the flash-unit and it helped. The second time the amp wasn´t recognized trought the Midi interface. Curiosly it started on his own after beeing setted on standby about an hour along without doing nothing with it. I noticed this because it did a typical clipping sound and after that just a few lights were on and it was ready to be played. It is well known not to let the power on inside rehearsal rooms when you left it. So my question is why is this happening in the first place. Is there a hidden battery which needs to be loaded on regular periods of times, and it is possible to replace this battery? Thanks up front for any hints and answers!
  16. Hi guys I've recently lost my Helix Lt power cable on stage and I was wondering if I could use any other IEC cable. Has anyone tried it? I found nothing using the search tool, thanks and keep rocking on!
  17. Hi. I found some issues in my Line 6 Spider 240HC amp that probably have other discussions opened, but i decided to record them. https://youtu.be/67unAeUulCA In the first one, the display flashes when it's turned off. https://youtu.be/477VH-TT4W8 That sound happens when i turn off the amp. That happens sometimes using different IEC cables. https://youtu.be/Fy6RwlY-xHk This problem started when i changed my IEC cable too. Sorry for the sound quality, there is a clicking sound when i activate the reverb. I though the it could be caused by the cable, but they are universal and i guess that it could be produced by digital issues. I really like this amp but it's difficult to play a gig calmed with that kind of problems. Is anyone having these problems? Sorry for my english.
  18. I just bought a used Line 6 Spider 3 HD150 head from Guitar Center. I powered it up and started to play (through headphones as I do not yet have the cab for it) and it worked fine for about 30 seconds. I looked down at my FBX longboard and noticed that it had switched banks by itself from Bank 2 to Bank 3. I switched it back to Bank 2 and the preset channel I was using, then the sound cut out. After 2 seconds it came back. Then it started doing it over and over. I noticed it was actually powering off and on repeatedly. Any advice on steps I should take to correct the issue? I have 45 days to return it if I can't fix it. Thanks in advance.
  19. Hello. I have been usin Amplifi 75 for some time at home. Now I have to use it in a band and I just can't get enough volume out of it. My friend with a 60W amp sounds great whereas I have to mic my amp. What is the actual power output of the Amplifi 75? How can it be that my guitar doesn´t sound over the drums with a 75W amp? Thanks
  20. I just have a 2 part question about the FBX/FBV Longboard Controller I bought online. They told me it comes with a CAT5 cable. Is this where the board draws it's power? And, Do I need anything other than the CAT 5 cable to route it to my Spider 2 amp? Or do I just plug it into the amp, and plug my guitar into the board and I'm good to go?
  21. Hello! I've had a Line 6 Toneport UX2 for a couple of years now. Recently I got a new desktop PC running windows 10. When i connect my toneport all I can hear coming from the outputs and the phones output is a loud hissing noise. Drivers are all up to date, line 6 monkey shows me all green ticks, asio drivers are all ok. the input vu-meter is always at maximum even though nothing is connected to it. no input signal, no output sound (except for the loud hiss.) Running it in a usb 2.0 on the motherboard (so no usb dongle or something like that). Tried it with all ports, a couple of different usb cables. I've also tried seeing if my PC's output voltage was the problem but everything is ok, no overclocking done. I'm running out of ideas. Could anyone help me with this?
  22. Any Idea where to get one of these? Thanks!!!
  23. Quick question for the electrical engineers among us: I've got my guitar rig at home hooked up to a power strip that is plugged into a switched wall outlet. This works pretty well because it lets me turn all of my pedals on and off with a single switch. Will I damage the Helix if I turn it on and off this way, instead of using the switch on the back? Thanks! -Jon
  24. Love my G10...works wonderfully. My question is...I have it plugged into power 24/7. Does anyone know any reason why this might cause issues? Shorter battery life or overheating or ? No issues...and I use it several times a week during practice...and it goes to a solid green a few minutes after putting the transmitter back into base. So it appears to be working fine...just want it to last. Thanks Dave
  25. Hi, What are the specs and where can I order a cable to connect the G70 via USB to a G-SYSTEM back panel? it's a DC 9V 50mA connection. thanks! steve.
