  1. I know this has probably been suggested frequently, but I'll bring it up: Please add a stand alone VDI interface for the Variax. I love the Variax, but I don't want to be stuck with my HD-500 (or Helix) if I want to control the model switching / provide power and get the digital signal from the onboard processor. This unit would of course have a VDI connector to the Variax and 1/4 plugs for standard gear. This unit would also accept midi-in and provide mini-out with the Variax knobs providing Control-Change messages. I know this is how Line 6 gets you to buy into their 'eco-system', but I really think the Variax would be even more popular if it was easier to integrate all it's features into non Line 6 setups. Yes, I know you can hack an old PODXt or something, but I don't have time for that.
  2. I bought the Amplifi 150 in August 2016. It would occasionally make a loud "POP" sound, and then the footcontroller would be non-responsive. I brought it into a verified Line6 factory repair shop in North Hollywood, and after waiting 4 weeks, they were unable to replicate the problem after leaving it on for a few hours. I took it back, and even did a gig in October with it. This week, I was getting ready for a bunch of gigs over the holidays, and suddenly while playing, the amp makes a loud "interference" type of sound (i.e., static noise). It happened as I was in the tuning mode on the foot-controller. I turned off the unit, turned it back on, and after 5 minutes, it did it again. I turned it off again - and unplugged the cat 5 cable to the foot controller and it eventually made the same loud sound. At 150watts, it's loud. And not really reliable for my upcoming gigs - rendering it totally useless. Anyone have issues with weird, loud static interference blasting through the amp? Maybe I just got a bad unit. No repair shop is open until the new year in L.A., so it's back to the Pod XTlive setup or my Fender amps. But I'm losing faith in the Amplifi system. No working musician wants to worry about their gear not working. (note: I bought the unit used, so I can't return it to Line6, so it's either repair shop or trash the unit)
  3. Howdy all, _Apologies moderators if this is in the wrong forum.. figured it might get a few more hits if it’s in the main forum_.. Having been part of the Fractal Forum (however no longer because I’m a loud and proud HELIX user J), and Kemper Forum, and now the Line 6 Helix forum, I’ve noticed that in particular here in the Helix forum, there’s a huge amount of FRFR discussions, but there’s minimal discussions about players that don’t necessarily use FRFR. This could quite easily be because the bigger majority of players in this Line 6 forum ARE mainly FRFR users/players. This isn’t an anti-FRFR topic or discussion, it’s more about expanding on this forum and perhaps growing the capabilities of the Helix and sharing wins/strategies/tones etc etc. On the Fractal and Kemper forums, there are many discussions about FRFR, but there’s also a lot of discussions and banter about power amps + cabs + Kemper or Axe FX, _not just FRFR_. Is it worth having a forum or chat room for the players that mainly use their Helix rig in a non-FRFR situation? It’s all well and good to download and trade patches with one another that are FRFR; however from what I can ascertain on this forum, at least 90% of all things discussed is FRFR based, with not a lot of input on power amp + cab + Helix and so forth. Again, having owned and played all 3 modellers, I personally keep resorting back to a valve power amp + cab + Helix because that not only works for me, but the band that I play in as well. FRFR is the perfect bedroom solution (which a majority of us forum’ites are, presumably), however, I just think it’d be good to have a place to chat, trade ideas etc that are not always FRFR based.. Food for thought I guess..
  4. My M9 was not used for about a 6 months as I was not able to use it in college. When I plug in the power chord. absolutely nothing happens. It looks like it is not turning on at all. Not sure what to do about it as I would love to start playing guitar again with my pedal. Thanks!
  5. Similar to the discussion for computers...do you leave your unit on? It does get a bit off after a while. The power supply is built in, not a separate power block. Any thoughts?
  6. Hey everyone, So I have just jumped ship from a 100w stack to the pod hd pro... AND I LOVE IT!! :D Today I have received my case and matrix power amp and have just realized that I have no idea which order to safely turn the two units on... (Gulp). I really don't want to damage any of my gear or cause unnecessary pops. Please Line 6 users, I would be forever greatful if somebody could help me with this confusion. Regards, Tencaious_Lee
  7. In looking for different expression pedal control options, I came across the MIDI Solutions Pedal Controller. This would potentially allow Helix users to use any volume pedal as an expression pedal via Helix MIDI CC. It appears to be 5-pin DIN MIDI, like Helix. It operates on 5V power to its MIDI input stating this is a standard MIDI specification. Can Helix MIDI out provide this power? http://www.midisolutions.com/prodped.htm http://www.midisolutions.com/faqs.htm#Power If not, there is a pretty easy +5V USB/MIDI cable hack to power the MIDI input of the MIDI Solutions Pedal Controller if Helix MIDI Out can't provide power. +5V USB/MIDI cables hack http://www.danbecker...ower/index.html MIDI Solutions Power FAQ directing users to the hack... http://www.midisolut.../faqs.htm#Power
  8. Hi all Just received my G10 unit (thanks Thomann) but was surprised that it uses a 5v USB power plug and not the usual 9v I already have available on my board. I do have a VoiceLive3 with a USB port though, so question is: How much power (Watts/A) does the G10 base station require, and would I be able to power it through the USB port on my VoiceLive? Thanks!
  9. Just got my Helix, plugged in my variax via the VTI cable (or whatever its called) and nothing. The inputs are set correctly. It works fine on my POD HD500X. I can play the variax with 1/4 inch and battery but not with the ethernet cable. Tried a factory reset and all firmware on JTV 59 and Helix is up to date. Help
  10. So I had it all set up to get a new rig and yesterday my car decided to lollipop out on me and I had to pay a huge bill to get it repaired. I now only have a 2x12 cab and my HD500 and I've been reading around and found I can get a power amp to get a good signal from my HD500 to my cab, but mostly I see XLS1000 or so which put out 1000w of power so how is it that people can use this without blowing there speakers? Do they just crank the HD500 master and just leave the power amp at maybe 2? And if we're having a loud practice or playing shows how could I turn it up without blowing anything? I'm really looking for as much info as possible on this because now my dream rig is out of my reach and this is the only other thing I can do with having a brand new 2x12 sitting around collecting dust. I've been looking at an XLS, QSC, and my buddy at GC was looking around at his used stuff and saw an Altec Lansing 1210 and said it maybe awesome to try and only cost $60. Thanks for looking!
  11. Just received a Helix unit and started playing with it I'm seriously unimpressed with what it can dope with DSP wise I know there are limits but I've just maxed out Path 1 with a phaser an 808 and two amp cab models That's it! I know I can go to Path 2 but I was expecting to get a bit further than this based on the demos I've seen Faulty unit? This can't be it surely
  12. First let me iterate, this is not a bluetooth connectivity problem. Another usual day. I go to turn on my Amplifi 150, and it slightly powers on then cuts off. By slightly I mean that they lights come on but are very dim and then cut off pretty much immediately. I have tried it a few times at different outlets, on different circuits, and at completely different houses with the same issue. So far my troubleshooting has brought me no success in fixing the issue. My first thought was a fuse blew, but then the power shouldn't come on at all, correct? Another thought I had was an update problem, but the amp will not turn on long enough to update. Has anyone ever experienced this before? Or any other thoughts on the matter? I haven't gone exploring in the back yet because I am still under warranty. Thank you all for your help.
  13. If two XD-V55 receivers are connected via the antenna splitter kit and the receivers are powered on individually, the receiver that is powered on second will not initiate. The receivers must be powered on simultaneously to work. The antenna splitter kit requires the two SMA MALE to BNC MALE cables that the XD-V55 rackmount kit provides. As such, it is assumed that the receivers are rackmounted AND powered by a power strip.
  14. StageSource L3M not turning on when powered up (have checked cables, etc). When we switch on we get a faint electrical click, but no lights on the back of the unit (as is the case on the other working unit we have). Help will be greatly appreciated as currently in Albania using them with a Kids holiday camp Mark
  15. Hey guys. I want to buy Floor POD Plus from a guy, but he has no power supply for it. I wanted to buy 9v AC 2000mA adapter for it, because i read that it's the default power supply for this POD, but it's expensive in here. Can I use an adapter with less miliampers than 2000? Like 1300 or smth? I can't find any information about this on the internet.

  17. Ok. Just bought a DT25 head and cab. Brought it home, hooked it up to my 500x via xlr cable. Every thing seems to be working correctly. Sounds great etc. but... The red power light doesn't light up. Never did! I would think that it's just the bulb. How easy is this to replace? Is this done by unscrewing the knurled light cover from the front, or do you have to go in from the back of the amp. I can't take it back to the shop as I live miles away and was only able to get there due to a friend giving me a lift. Thanks for any information.
  18. Hey, I just got a POD500 from the US. Obviously, the power adapter is different. I know the output is 9V - 3A. Will my Voodoo Labs Pedal Power 2 Plus power this up? or do I need to a) get a AUS Power Supply for the unit or b) get a step down transformer for it? Cheers. :)
  19. I ordered my Pod hd pro from America (i'm from England) and it came with the power cable but it's an American one so it won't fit my plug sockets. I will most likely just get an American to English plug adapter but i was wondering if i can use a kettle lead (power cable) that is 10A 250V for the pod? On the pod above the power input it says 100-240V 50 - 60Hz 100w max so i didn't know if it would overpower it? or break it in some way? I have loads of 250v power cables already so it will be great if i can just use one but if it's going to damage my pod i'll just get an adapter or buy a power cable thats 240v. Any help would be great, thanks Harry
  20. Looks like it is some out there with power-problems on their POD XT. Same problem for me, have had this as peiodic problems for a while now. Well, 1. I remove 4 screws in the back panel 2. Split the panel 3. Check the power-switch if it is ok or not (and it was not) by do a shortcut of the 2 terminals of the switch back (and then test it,,,,, yes,,, the XT light up), so then I know the erros causes of the power-switch. 4. I remove the power-switch in the most simple way by cut the 2 terminals in the back of the switch. 5. I open the switch with the help of a flathead scewdriver. You expand the slot of the switch and then remove the switch-head (0 1). Careful,,,, there is 1 small ball, 1 spring, 1 pice of flat metal who can fall out of the slot. 6. Remove the flat metal-plate, clean/polich/sand the contact point on the plate and the 2 piont in the switch. The reason for this is to remove the oxide-plaque who is cover the contact-points. This is a very common problem for a lot of different electronic/electric devices. This is one of the main reasons some devices contains small amounts of gold,,,, gold is a precious metall who have high corrosion resistance. IE, You should clean every point of contact. 7. Add some small amount of grease to the one side of the ball (on the spring, then the ball would not so easy fall of), and on the slide area of the plate. 8. Replace the head of the switch. 9. Test the switch with a ohm-tester. Hopefully it is ok. If not, check if you have replace it in the right way or if it is some other erros inside it. 10. Put the switch back in the XT, get a small soldering Iron to reconect the terminals again. 11. You are right,,,,, this is not rocket science but easy forward mecanical. If any problems, I have some photoes of the repair. Good Luck ! :D regards,,,, Wizardvision@hotmal.com
  21. Howdy all, My variax bass 700 just started making a horrible crackling noise come from my amp. It happens when my XPS-DI is plugged in and is powering the bass. It doesn't happen on just battery power. It doesn't happen with a normal (Not TRS) cable between the DI and bass. I don't think it is the cables, as I've checked each one and swapped them out without issue. The crackling is separate from the volume of the bass. It doesn't happen by moving the cable at all, the cable is a livewire TRS, and is only a week old. I ordered a new planet waves TRS cable to verify if the cable is the issue. It is always the same distinctive crackle, and I can't seem to "cause" it, it just happens from time to time. At this point, I think it's either a) the bass when it's powered by the DI, b) the DI itself, but only with a TRS cable to the 700, or C) the TRS cable itself, but only the power sending section that's different from a mono 1/4" cable. Has anyone else had this happen? On another note, I just recently recalibrated the strings, and the red LED hasn't worked since I got the bass used some time ago. I just picked up the DI box off ebay. All the sound models seem to work well otherwise. I have cleaned all the pots with denatured alcohol, so I doubt that it's dirty connections.
  22. Hi, I've heard on the internet that Pocket Pods can get damaged or break if they don't get the correct charger. Does it need to be Line6 official? Or just the correct voltage? I've seen this 9V charger on Amazon and it looks like it'll do the job: http://amzn.to/16Tl6Bt Will this be OK to use? Just want to make sure.
  23. Hi, I am experiencing a very important issue with my flextone III During the last 30 days it just restarts... first I thought maybe it was the power cable and it doesnt connect well. Tried a different cable but the problem persists... Yesterday it stayed off for some time before it could power again. When I turned down the switch the normal sound on the back clicked, if this does help, and after a while I could power the amp again. I now dont know what to do, I use this amp for gigs and I dont what this to happen during a show... I was lucky enough that it didnt happened on my last gig a couple of weeks ago!
  24. Hello I bougt this ampli+ mkII in 2010 january .... sound and functions are excellent but the quality of the product and the technixcal support are really bad !!! Nobody in france for to repair .. The more close is in Belgium, that make the cost of shipping really expensive! AFter one year of playing in home studio with no problem ,the MKII electronic board is dead ( 75€ to remplace) and since one year I have a recurrent problem with the Jam power which reboot randomly !!!! this is really lollipop ! Does anyone have encountered the same problem and can give me some information to repair ? Greetings from south Brittany France
  25. I've been reading about the volume issues with the DT50 212. Too loud, etc. Before I say anything else its the real deal amp. I'm blown away with the HD500 integration. The Solo models are to die for!!!! Here's what I do to deal with volume issues: Each amps output can be set to the expression pedal without using DSP. Watch for how to do this. I've taken my amps/tones and used this technique to lower the overall volume (around a maximum value of 50-60) while keeping the master volume on the high power position (pushed in). Keep the master at about 12 o'clock (or what you like) and use the output settings to level each amp (patch) to each other and to lessen the output. This can be done with dual tones as well, just set both amps to similar parameters, and same expression pedal. Do you lose sound? At 50-60 ... no on most amp models. Some amp models lose slightly, but low volume is merely, usually practice. Is this the perfect fix? Probably not. However, your amp/patches will be leveled, properly loud, and get full use of channel volume and master volume mixes. When playing live a quick touch on the master can work wonders. Let me know how this works out if you try it. His advice (see link above) for wah pedals is spot on too. If its too loud ... move! LOL Happy jamming! bribrew1968
