  1. Just saw the new USB-drivers 2.0 for Helix, stomp etc. The Powercab are announced, but seem not available. Anyone?
  2. Thinking of getting the Powercab 112 Plus .. anyone have any inkling if/ when Line 6 plans on updating the actual HARDWARE?
  3. Hi all I am trying to decide whether to buy Powercab 112 or 112 Plus (...or Headrush 108 or 112...). Can Pod GO control Line 6 112 Plus speaker by MIDI in the same way that Helix can? I mean - can I set Pod GO to control the Powercab Plus speakers? I understand that Line 6 POD GO has a basic MIDI over USB functionality but I cannot find a straightforward answer to this question anywhere. Thank you for your help.
  4. Hi, As I find very difficult to control the volume (home usage) of Powercab 112Plus specially when placed at an angle using the back slide legs , what kinda of options I have? e.g. using a volume pedal (or expression pedal with midi) e.g. using the HX stomp (volume knob) with my foot without obviously affect the volume of the USB interface? e.g. using old blood noise express volume etc. only asking cause i don't know how volume pedals work (why would I add a boost maybe dirty my signal/sound) and yes I don't like the back control panel despite liking the clean front design.
  5. I would be grateful if you could confirm if my configuration is correct to use my simulations correctly. MY TEAM: POD HD500X POWERCAB 112 PLUS 1- My POD HD500X is connected to the POWERCAB 112 PLUS through the L6 LINK ports of both units (I understand that, in this way, the data transfer is done digitally). 2- The MODE setting of the SETUP: OUTPUT page is selected in Studio / Direct. Is it the right selection or should I select Combo Power Amp or Combo Front? 3- I select an PRE AMP MODEL (for example the Brit J-800 Pre) Is the selection correct or should I select the full amplifier version Brit J-800? 4- I select a CAB MODEL (for example the 4x12 Brit T-75) Should you not select any CAB MODEL and select a Speaker Mode or a User IR Mode on the POWERCAB 112 PLUS? Should I select a CAB MODEL in the POD and also a Speaker Mode or a User IR Mode in the POWERCAB 112 PLUS? Should I select a CAB MODEL in the POD and also FLAT MODE (Speaker emuation is disabled) in the POWERCAB 112 PLUS? If you use Speaker Mode or User IR Mode on the POWERCAB 112 PLUS, could you change them automatically, according to the preset used on the POD HD500X, via MIDI cable? 5- At POWERCAB 112 PLUS, currently, I select FLAT MODE and Voicing LF Solo ((LF Raw). Is the MODE and Voicing adequate? Thank you very much for your time. Enviar comentarios Historial Guardadas Comunidad
  7. Hello Helix-Users First, I have to apologize for my poor English. Since april 2018 I use a helix LT with a powercab 112 plus (midi cable connected). I‘m very happy with it. BUT: last weekend i upgrade the helix lt and powercab firmwares (helix lt => 2.81 and powercab => 2.00.1). After the upgrade, the powercab doesn‘t change the right powercab-speaker over midi. I doesn‘t find out what the problem is! I do the follow steps to find the problem: 1) reset powercab 112 plus to factory defaults 2) reset helix lt to factory defaults (press FS7 and FS8 and then turn on the Helix lt) 3) OK, then I activate Preset 1A, then switched the powercab to channel 000 I active Preset 1B, then the powercab switched to channel 001 1C => channel 002 1D => channel 003 2A => channel 004 [...] 32D => channel 127 you see, every Helix Preset ist already connected with a powercab speaker preset. 4) I created a simple Marschall-Amp Preset (1A) on the Helix. In „commands“ I made a midi command to change the powercab-preset to 017 (Greenback). 5) then I activate the Preset 1A. Helix load the Marshall Amp and send a midi comand to the powercab. The powercab switched first in the 000 channel and after automatic in the 017 channel. Why change the powercab first in the FRFR channel (000) and then in the 017 greenback channel (changing time used, <1 second). 6) I create other Presets in the Presets 1D and 32D. In these channel the powercab change first in the channel 004 (Preset 1D) and after in the 017. In Preset 32D the powercab change first in the channel (127) and after in the 017. In some Presets I must press two times the footswitch-knob. First time the powercab load the „standard“ Speaker (look point 3) ). Second time the powercab changed to the programmed channel (ex. 017) I tested these also without USB connections with my Macbook. I disconnect also the XLR soundcable (Helix LT -> Powercab), only the midi connection between Helix and powercab. The problem remains the same. Why the powercab change two times? In Firmware 2.71 I had never problems with it. the midi commands works fine. How I must configurate the Helix LT, the Presetchange works fine? Any ideas? Thank you! Greetings from Switzerland Pady
  8. Hi all, Since about 3 months I switched from full tube setup to Helix floor + Powercab 112 plus. Reason to travel more light. It's a fun and intuitive setup. However I have not managed to get my basic sounds even close to the authentic sound and punch I was used to. Too digital, too processed. I have went through all possible settings, tweaks, research to ensure to get the best out of the tools. I'm not convinced it can deliver the sound 'with balls' which is a default with any tube amp. Sound used to be my strong side during gigs, it has now become my weakness. The band and audience even tell me my sound is not in comparison with the other guitarist (simple tube amp and few pedals). Can't here you, not defined tone etc. My Helix journey is becoming a frustration and want to enjoy playing again instead. Here the reason of my post. As a final solution, before deciding to sell my Helix and powercab, I am considering to buy a good tube preamp pedal (e.g. Mesa Boogie V-twin, Koch Pedaltone and loop it with the helix. That could give me those true basic sounds. I'd use the tube pedal as amp channels exclusively and use the Helix for effects and programs basically. This solution would still allow me to travel light. Does anyone know if above could be a good solution or would I still miss the tube sound from a power amp? Also does anyone know if tube pedals allow the Helix to select the different channels from the pedal (so you can program clean/overdrive/high gain in presets like you can with 4 cabling method with tradional amps)? Appreciate any advice/experience sharing on above (no need to convince I should continue Tweaking my Helix, I tried all. Simply not satisfied and not enjoying the journey any longer). Thanks!

  10. Hi! Would anyone know if it is possibe to control the PowerCab 112 plus speaker models from the Helix Floor via L6 Link? I'd like to assign a powercab speaker model from a Helix preset (with L6 link, not interested in midi cables as I want to have a clean setup) so each preset can have the best sounding speaker model from the cab. I saw some discussions on this topic, but no clear conclusion on it as far as I could find. Thanks for any help! :-) Jordi
