  1. Not sure if anyone would need this but here it is anyway. When i got my POD (being a first time user) i thought it would be a good idea to back up the factory presets in case i did some DUMB lollipop...

  3. Hi All, I am writing you to propose the creation of a new footswitch mode which I believe would be very useful, especially for rehearsal or gigs. I usually use just a few presets (around 8), each including a few “direct access switches†such as volume boost on/off, modulation on/off that I often use. In order to do this I need to run my mighty Helix in STOMP footswitch mode. Unfortunately, this means that I have to step on BANK UP or DOWN every time I have to change the preset, in order to temporarily enter PRESET mode. This is not very comfortable as I have to always stomp two times to select a new preset. My proposal is to create a new mode, “MIX MODEâ€, where · FS2, FS3, FS4 and FS5: correspond to FS2, FS3, FS4 and FS5 footswitch of the STOMP MODE, · FS8, FS9, FS10 and FS11: correspond to FS8, FS9, FS10 and FS11 of the PRESET mode. This will allow the player to easily: 1. recall a new preset, by simply stomping on FS8, FS9, FS10 and FS11 (just one stomp) 2. activate/deactivate the preset’s FS2, FS3, FS4 and FS5 direct access switches using FS2, FS3, FS4 and FS5 (just one stomp) 3. Scroll through the banks by using FS1 and FS7 (just one stomp) This behavior would be similar to traditional MIDI controllers, such as MARK-L FX 25 ACE: it has a row of footswitches to recall presets and another one for direct access switches. What do you think of this idea?
  4. Most of my patches are saved with the basic amp and reverb settings switched on, but with overdrive, a modulation effect and delay set up but switched off. So when I'm playing I'll switch those on as needed. The next time I use the patch, I want it to be in its saved state, with the overdrive, modulation and delay effects switched off. However the HD300 keeps them switched in, even if I select another patch and go back to the original one, it still has the variations switched on. Is there any way using the footswitches to recall a patch with its settings as they were saved?
  5. Hello, i've bought a pod HD500X myself this week. Now i have found some interesting sound presets for the HD500. Can i copy them to my HD500X (via the line 6 edit software) without causing errors or even damaging my HD500X? Thanks for your help!
  6. I made it with the new matchstick amp on path 1 and put all the same FX on each path and have a toggle control the same FX on each path. I put a toggle called High Gian that swaps paths, the path 2 amp is supposed to be clean and you can hit the Timmy distortion to get a little overdriven sound and you can hit the High Gain for more of a hard rock/metal sound. Also setup a lead boost toggle. Kind of like a 3 channel amp. Let me know if you think it sounds good, I don't know how good my ear for tone is. I am using a charvel with an emg 81 to make it. https://www.dropbox.com/s/txuw9vlyhg4iwoy/DUDE%27S%20MATCHLESS.hlx?dl=0
  7. Please be aware that downloaded tones, patches and presets that were created by other users have the potential to be corrupted and not work correctly on the target device. Firewall/Antivirus/Internet security applications, Internet/video accelerators and proxy servers, among other things, can be causes of trouble with downloaded files. If your device freezes, a rule of thumb is to back up your custom patches, reset the unit to its factory state, ensure the unit does not freeze while in this state, then load your patches one by one, testing after each load to determine which patch is faulty. Otherwise, please contact our Customer Support team at www.Line6.com/support/tickets. Please be prepared to supply your backup file so that we can investigate your case further.
  8. Hi. Does someone have some kind of a "4 channel"-preset (or more), with a nice and clear clean, a warm bluesy low-Gain sound, a Marshall 800 like mid-Gain and a shredding high-Gain sound + solo-option. I heard it is possible to configure one preset that way to be used as a highly flexible multi channel amp. I would use your preset as a default construction for finding my basic tones in just one preset. Warm regards, Sascha (Please excuse my poor English. I'm from Gemany)
  9. my helix arrives tomorrow, so perhaps this will become obvious once I start fiddling with the unit, BUT.. What are the primary differences between the two modes: preset & stombox?? From an application standpoint, I mean. I would love to have 5 or 6 FS assigned to different amp stacks. None of these amp stacks will have any fx built-in. I would also like 2 or 3 FS assigned to my most used delay & verb. I plan on running most of my spacial & modulation fx through the fx loops to my eventide h9's...using the helix mainly for different amp tones. I'm in a gigging cover band, & I'm trying to envision what type of tap-dance I will have to do during a show.
  10. Hi everyone, I purchased the Line 6 Amplifi a couple months ago and it's been quite enjoyable. I've just started playing guitar so I find the pre-set tones that users have created to be very helpful as a beginner as I don't know the amp settings for a lot of songs. My main problem is that a lot of songs I want to play don't have tones already created or haven't been made by the community yet. Or they are quite low rating. So my question is, how do I create my own amp settings for songs I want to play? As I'm a beginner, I'm very unfamiliar with creating amp settings as I don't know is needed and it's hard for me to replicate a sound by ear. I'm a big fan of Muse and I want to play some of their songs such as: Supermassive black hole Stockholm Syndrome Showbiz New Born And various others. Some of these don't have any tones created and others have low ratings so I'm wondering how I can create my own? The manual isn't brilliant for this amp so I'm uncertain whether I can download a tone from online. Does anyone have any suggestions on how a beginner can create their own tones for songs? Thank you.
  11. There are two versions one is with factory cabs the other is with my custom IR I made with MixIR2 (from Redwires) from free IR's I found around the web. you have to put the one named GHK.wav (my fav) at Impulse #035 in your HELIX app. the preset is called Clean, Dirt, Metal and you have a clean tone a rock tone and a metal tone all in one preset... let me know if you like it or not. I used a Charvel Desolation with EMG 81 bridge pickup and 2 L2M's with the L6 Link to my Helix... https://www.dropbox.com/sh/cxnvpg7z7rhuvbb/AADmaLENV5IWoHz7sOg-M9X8a?dl=0
  12. Hello everyone, Hope you enjoy your wonderful Helix like I do! My question is how to use the blocks? I mean I don't know do I have to place Compressor before or after distortion? wah pedal before or after Amp?! Is there any rule for pacing these stuff to get a better sound? Thanks in advance

    Looper presets?

Hi guys! I'm sure this question has been answered before but i searched and searched and couldn't find any info on it. I'm wanting to have different loops saved into different patches. So when you go to a patch, a patch-specific loop plays. I have no idea if this is possible or not but I knew this would be the best place to ask. Thanks!
  14. Put the "Taylor 314ce - Shure SM57.wav" IR (thats floating around here) @ #6 IR slot in Helix here is the Preset it's called "Acoustic Chorus+" https://www.dropbox.com/sh/a6ja1ccg9opnsvu/AAANth50j9N_AJMVN2ykjfJua?dl=0 The way it is set up is that with EXP #2 when you move the peddle up or down it changes from Path #1 to Path #2 and the + is a very heavy tone so you can go from an Acoustic sound to a Hard Rock/Metal tone just moving the EXP #2 then there is a lead boost that swaps amps on FS #10. Please let me know what you think and you can also help me dial in the Acoustic tone, I am really not a tweaker here is a short sample of the tone recorded straight in from Helix USB to PT12 no post processing. https://soundcloud.com/neverforsaken/helix-acoustic-chorus-test Edit: I forgot to add that you should use you neck position pick up for the acoustic and the bridge for the metal one. sorry I had the clip in private I did this at about 4am The Guitar used is a Fernandes Vortex Elite with an EMG 81 in the bridge position and the Fernandes Sustainer in the neck position.
  15. It seems I am having an issue saving Presets. I save them to "My Tones", I then save them to the hardware position of my choice. I can then navigate via the pedal buttons to each preset I just saved and they show up as such in the Amplifi app. But then after turning it off and then back on later the tones are still there with all of the settings I left them with but the names of the presets have been set to Default. Be advised I am using the Android app on a Kindle Fire Hdx. I am not sure if there is a "cardinal rule" to saving the presets but I have tried every possible way. Its annoying because I am having trouble remembering what preset is in what location until I see it in the app. During a gig this is not a problem. My cheat sheet lets me know what button to push. Anybody had a similar experience? Am I just overlooking something simple. It needs a global "Save" button to save the everything at one time including the hardware.
  16. so i just bought a new variax standard to use with my pod hd500. everything seems to be working fine other than i can't save any guitar models to the presets on the pod. for example, if i wanted to change from a lester on one patch then switch to acoustic on another. the tunings change, the knobs can be assigned to certain effects, but for some reason, i can't change the guitar models. any idea why this might be? thanks!
  17. Hi, I am new in the pod world and just receive my HD500X. I would like to know if somebody has a list with the factory presets with some music, style reference or the main effects and amps of each preset. Thank you all,
  18. We've found that tones created while using the original 1.01 firmware can sometimes be corrupted, regardless if they are new or downloaded tones. This results in the device locking up, with a factory reset being needed for recovery (press and hold the Master Volume knob and the TAP button as you power up the unit). Firmwares at version 1.10 or later resolves this issue. Tones created in version 1.10 or later can no longer be corrupted like they would have under version 1.01. However, corrupted tones created in version 1.01 are still problematic when used in Firehawks updated to later firmware versions. We encourage those encountering this issue to update to the latest firmware via the Line 6 Updater software, then perform a factory reset. Please note that any tones not backed up to My Tones prior to a reset will be lost (corrupted tones cannot be uploaded because they crash the unit and thus can't be selected for uploading).
  19. Hello all, I have had my HD500x for a little over a year. Love it, I use it only for FX and use my 5150 for amp sounds. Lately, my switch that is next to the tap switch, and sometimes the one to the left of that, will switch on the effect I have set up there. Doesn't matter which scene I have loaded, it will still do this. I have an idea of what it is, and two different fixes for it, what do you all think this is? I actually have video of my last band practice of it doing this if you want to see it fail. Has this happened to you guys? Is it common? What caused it and what do I do? Thanks :)
  20. From Dust Studios is giving away TWO free Podfarm preset packs. All you have to do is like the page www.facebook.com/fromduststudios and then share the video example of the tones. Best of luck!!

  22. Hello everyone. It has long had a multi-effect rack that commanded by a midi footswitch. This footswitch had the ability to select a preset with a switch, and if I could drive again move to the previous preset. This way, I could switch two preset with the same switch. Is this possible with the POD HD 500? Thank you very much from now. Sorry for my English.
Merci d'avance
  24. Hi there, I have a little problem with my pod hd500: When working with patches in the ABCD mode the postion of the effects assigned to the footswitches 1-4 always stay the same. What I mean is: I have saved a patch with a effect on fs1 that is activated. I turn it off. Then I change to preset 2 and back to the first one (with the effect pedal). The effect will be turned on again, even if I left it deactivated. When switching to a preset the footswitches always return exactly to the positon in which they are saved. :( I find that really annoying. Any possibilties to change that, so that the pod will remember if I turned the effect on or off without saving it everytime (which isn't possible while playing of course). I hope you understood my question, :) Steven
  25. Hi all, Recently acquired this amp and had a bit of an issue with the rotary function of the preset knob being a bit temperamental. Now it's chosen to stop working all together. However, the push to edit function of the knob still works. Any suggestions? Alex
