  1. If I like a preset on the pod x3 can I save it directly to an empty destination or do I have to try to recreate it. I want to create dual vocal tones with an existing preset e.g Studio Vocal. Thanks

  4. I downloaded Lincoln Brewster's official HD500 presets from here http://www.lincolnbrewster.com/podpatches/ And specifically, the one named Lincoln_Brewster_Main_2012.h5e For some reason, this preset is much much louder than any preset I create myself without messing too much with the volume settings. I've turned off every effect/amp block and checked all of the levels, including DEPs and none are really any different than any settings I use in my patches, and this patch is still much louder than any of my patches. The only difference I can see is that at the mixer he has both R and L set to Center instead of the default !00% Left and 100% Right. Changing that makes some difference, but it seems like the volume difference is more than just that. I also changed the extension to .5xe to import on my HD500X. That shouldn't make any difference, should it? Is there something else I'm missing, or does centering the Mixer block actually really make that much difference in overall volume without actually changing any volume parameters?
  5. I use my M5 in a rack and switch presets with a MIDI controller. Is there a way to get the M5 to start in preset mode at power-on? That would save me from having to change it every time I turn it on. Thanks.
  6. Hello!I just bought a FBV2 switch and it's really annoying that I can't get from the Clean preset channel to the Metal channel with just a single press. Is there a way I can maybe switch the channels around?I tried getting Crunch to sound like Clean but it just does not sound the same,I guess every preset is different. So is there any way to change the preset order?(have the clean channel where the crunch channel shoud be and the crunch where the clean shoud be)
  7. I use Gearbox 3.72 to practice in home. In this version there is a preset/tone called 'Lux Verb Chorus. In my current equipment to play live (Zoom 3000) I can not reproduce the simulations and the effects of this preset. I'm thinking of changing this Zoom by a POD HD. Is there any way to transfer this preset for the POD HD? Or, is there any preset in POD HD that is equal to 'Lux Verb Chorus? Thank You!
  8. Hi, I have a podUX1 with PODFARM2, I designed a preset for a cool VanHalen tone with soldano, compressor, tubescreamer, chorus, plate and short delay. I wonder if a solution exists to bring the preset onstage (in an hardware pedal for example). I don't care of the amp simulation, I would like to have the chorus, plate and delay only in the same pedal and not necessary change the settings of each effect. To summarize, the pedal with only a footswitch which has the settings predefined (for the VH tone I love :D). An analogic solution will not be very accurate and programm a DSP for a numerical solution seems to be really hard to emulate the same tone of podfarm :(. I hope someone has an answer... Sorry for my poor English, Thanks in advance :), Lucas
  9. Hello Recently I got a POD HD300 and I can't seem to get ahold of a decent tone for my 6string baritone tuned to Drop E. It's really muddy and undefined,I want a more digital tone, similar to Meshuggah-Tony Danza Tap Dance Extravaganza-Periphery etc. I have a .85 for a low E with on a 27,2'' with an EMG 81. A good example of what I'm after(or similar) is this https://soundcloud.com/thelivingdoorway/frederipoff-thordendal Any preset/info will be gladly appreciated. Thanks a ton and happy new year John
  10. Français Deutsch The Line 6 Guitar Amp within Reason can only handle single tone presets, there is no way to load a POD Farm 2 Dual Tone preset into a single Line 6 Guitar Amp device. However, if you were to split the Dual tones and save each tone as its own individual preset, you can load each preset into it's own Line 6 Guitar Amp within Reason and put then together using a Combinator device with mixer. Just select a Dual Tone you would like to use within the Standalone version of POD Farm 2 and click the 'DUAL' button to the right of the preset name at the top of the window and select 'Remove TONE B' first, then, select FILE>SAVE AS... to save the new single preset with 'Tone A' added at the end of the preset name. Next, reload the original Dual Tone, click the 'DUAL' button once again and select 'Remove TONE A', then select FILE>SAVE AS... to save this single tone preset with 'Tone B' added at the end of the preset name. Now, within Reason, you can create a Combinator, then a Mixer, and 2 Line 6 Guitar Amp devices, each with one of these new presets loaded into the device (Tone A in one, Tone B in the other), and summed together again with another mixer.
  11. I'm tryin to download some new presets to my pod using line 6 monkey 1.65 (also i have latest software on pod) - but there is an error: invalid tone file specified some files are working, some not, what's the problem? format of file is .l6t as always on x3 live look at screenshot below
  12. Hello! I did disconnect the speaker wires on my Spider IV 75 combo to connect it to an external 4x12. Now i want to reconnect the internal speaker and i did not document which lead is positive and negative! Can someone please look it up for me? I also have a question about the editing software. How do i "clone" a preset? (So i can copy a sound, keeping the basic sound and do small tweaks, for example just add delay to my sound). And, if someone have nice fuzz presets for stoner rock, like Fu Manchu etc. please share! You can have my presets back :)
  13. Hi, I'm an intermediate guitarist who has owned a Spider IV amp for a long time and has been souly living off switching between the preset tones on the left dial (Metal, Insane, Twang etc...). I am not an expert and know next to nothing about amplifiers so if you could help me out here, thank you. There's 4 channel buttons at the top which are presets for a certain tone, When I change the tone on that channel, it reverts back to the standard built-in tone and forgets my customisations, how do I get it to save the changes? Sorry if this is extremely vague, the amplifier jargon hasn't sunk in yet. Still learning. Thanks :D

  15. 2x12 and 4x12 are not showing up on PODxt series Q: My manual refers to output modes "4x12" and "2x12", or "VIBE", but I can't find them on my POD XT Live A: We decided to use more intuitive, user-friendly terms on the POD XT Live, but unfortunately the manual was not updated. Where the manual mentions "4x12" and "2x12", it is referring to "Stack mode" and "Combo mode", respectively, in the Pod XT's "What am I connected to?" mode. Each of these modes offer the option of connecting through the "Front" of the amp or the "Pwramp" (back) section of the amp. When using the "Front" option, tone correction options are made available to shape the overall PODxt output to sound good in front of a combo amp. The "What are you connecting to" page previously offered an option for "Live: Front of 2x12 Combo", which was basically a "2x12 power amp with speakers" setting with some additional filtering to compensate for the sound of your combo amp's preamp section. This setting was replaced by the VIBE setting, which split out the speaker configuration and the combo preamp compensation into two different adjustable parameters. Incidentally, the VIBE setting that mapped to the old "combo mode" setting is "MIDHVY - 480Hz" when used along with the "Live: 2x12" DEST setting. PODxt set to MONO Q: How can I set the Podxt to mono if I'm connecting the Podxt to a mono amp? A: You will have to set the Podxt to "Live" mode. To do this, select the tuner button, turn the select knob until you see "What are you connected to" page. Turn the "Effect Tweak" knob to "Live 4X12 or 2X12" or "Stack" or "Combo". This will alow the Podxt outputs to be mono. EX-1 control parameters on Podxt Q: I am having a problem getting my PODxt to allow me to control the effect parameters via the expression pedal on the FBV Shortboard. A: The EX-1 expression pedal will control some functions and this is how you get them to work. Press the "Edit" button then turn the "select" knob until you see the "wah | volume" page. On the volume side, select or highlight "Assign" with the third soft button located under the main display. Turn the "Effect Tweak" knob to change from volume to Tweak. In the updated PODxt, these parameters are changed on the page after the "wah/volume" page. By changing from volume to tweak you have engaged to EX-1 to control any function that comes under "tweak". To find out what's under the tweak selection, turn the "Select" knob to the next page where you will see "FX Tweak | tempo". on the FX tweak side you may scroll through the stomp tweaks, delay tweaks, mod tweaks etc. Make sure if you select say the delay time, the delay button light must be on and so with the other effects. PODxt three stomp with FBV Q: Can the PODxt actually play three stomp box sounds when conected to a FBV? Section 9-7 of the pilots handbook seems to indicate that. A: These buttons are for the Vetta series of amps. With the PodXt, the Stomp2 button controls Compression on/off and Stomp3 controls Gate On/Off. This is explained in the documentation that ships with the FBV. Connecting any POD unit to an amplifier POD Connections, Routing and the 4 Cable Method Amp bypassed on PODxt Q: How do I bypass the Amp Models? A: In preset mode turn the amp model knob counter clock wise to Bypass with all the effects buttons off, this will put the Podxt/Bass PODxt in bypass, then "save". You are really making a bypass channel or bypass preset. Q: If I set the PODxt to bypass the amp sounds, is the preamp of the PODxt bypassd, will I get the pure tone of my amp? A:Yes, you can also save your setup as a preset (no amp model, just effects). Can you adjust the S/PDIF or AES/EBU output volume level? Press the I/O & Dig Select button on the right hand side of the POD / Bass PODxt Pro. Then press the Soft Button below GAIN and spin the EFFECT TWEAK knob to add up to 12 db of gain on the digital outs. This is useful to help cut down on excessive use of normalization after recording in the digital domain. Pod XT Input specs: Q: What is A.I.R. II? A: A.I.R. II is Line 6's second generation Acoustically Integrated Recording technology. It expands your sonic choices and creative options by allowing you to choose a variety of microphone models and adjust their placement in front of the cabinet. Microphone choices and placement options include models based on Shure SM-57, Sennheiser MD-421 and a Neumann U-67 - on- and off-axis. Line 6, GuitarPort, POD and Vetta are trademarks of Line 6, Inc. 16. So you got the perfect sound... Now you want to save your own patch... Press 'SAVE' to bring you to the "SAVE TO:' screen. The bottom 4 knobs are critical to this process as they change the values that are directly positioned above. The first knob alternates between saving in Tone 1 and Tone 2, the third knob moves the cursor left and right, and the fourth knob changes the character that the cursor is positioned under. Use these knobs to select whether you want to save the patch to Tone 1 or Tone 2 and to change the name of the patch itself. Once you have set the name and tone position, use the save knob to choose which bank you want to save this to, then press the save knob again to save it.
  17. Applications Q: What are the presets on the Lowdown Studio 110 and LD 15 amplifier? A: The Studio 110 and LD 15 have four savable channels directly on the amplifier, which are Clean (Eden model), R&B (Ampeg B15 fliptop model), Rock (Ampeg SVT model), and Grind (Sansamp model). The Studio 110 also has a “synth” option, accessed by pressing the R&B and Rock models simultaneously. The LD15 has a hidden “Brit model” which is accessed by pressing/holding the Clean and R&B model buttons as your turn on the power. The Clean and R&B lights will flash back and forth to indicate that you have changed the Clean model into the Brit model. Q: Is there a list for suggested settings for the LD Studio110 or LD15 amplifier? A: No, there is no preset list for the LD 110 or LD15, but you can download the dowdown Preset Chart from the manuals section and experiment with the settings (taking note that there is no amp model or channel volume control) Lowdown Presets Q: Are there any video tutorials I can view to learn more about the Lowdown? A: Please see the Lowdown Movies in the product description page. Lowdown Movies Q: Is there an editing software that works with the Lowdown amplifier? A: No, there is no editing software for the Lowdown series as there is no way to connect the lowdown amplifier to your computer. Q: Is there a "manual mode" for a LD Studio110 or LD15 like on the other LD series amplifiers? A: No, there is no manual mode for the LD Studio110 for the LD15. Q: How do I change the tuner's reference frequency on the Lowdown? A: The Lowdown Tuner Reference Frequency cannot be changed - it's 440 all the way. Setup/Connections Q: Is there a direct out on the Lowdown 110 or LD 15 amplifier? A: Yes, there are balanced line level XLR and unbalanced 1/4" outputs on the Lowdown 110, both of which output processed tone. The LD-15 has an unbalanced ¼” output which will output processed tone (which doubles as a headphone output). The XLR output of the Studio 110 is not affected by the output volume of the amplifier, and will send a cabinet simulated tone to your mixing console. The unbalanced ¼” output of the Studio 110 and LD15 is affected by the master volume setting, so keep this in mind when using this as a direct recording connection. Q: What if I do not want the cabinet tone but rather a unaffected tone (like a DI Box to go to the PA?) A: If you desire an unaffected bass tone in addition to the cabinet simulated tone, you will want to go into a DI box and send the DI signal to the mixing console. Be sure to have the instrument output of the DI go into the instrument input of the Lowdown amplifier to get sound from the Lowdown. Q: Can I use a Line 6 controller with the Lowdown Studio 110 or the LD15? A: No, there is no CAT-5 jack on the Studio 110 or the LD15 for a Line 6 controller. Q: Does the Lowdown Studio 110 or the LD15 have an effects loop? A: No, neither the Lowdown Studio 110 or the LD15 has an effects loop. Q: Can I connect an external pre-amp (i.e. Line 6 POD unit) to the Lowdown Studio 110 or the LD15? A: Yes, an external preamp can be connected to the instrument input of the Lowdown, be sure to send an instrument level signal rather than a line level signal to avoid clipping and/or damage to the Lowdown. An external pre-amp can also be run into the MP3 input jack, which would relegate the Lowdown amplifier to a “powered speaker”. Q: Can I connect an external cabinet to a Lowdown Studio 110 or the LD15? A: No, there are no external speaker connections on the Lowdown combo series Studio 110 or the LD15 Specifications Q: What's the rated wattage output and speaker size of the Lowdown Studio 110 and the LD15?? LD15: 15 watts/ (1) 8” speaker Studio 110: 75 watts/ (1) 10” speaker Registration and Warranty Information Q: What is the warranty on the Lowdown Series? A: the warranty on the Lowdown series is twelve months from the date of purchase. Q: How do I register the Lowdown? http://line6.com/account/registergear/ Troubleshooting/Service Q: How do I perform a factory reset on the Lowdown? A: The reset procedure for a Lowdown amplifier is to hold the Clean button for 5 seconds while powering the amp. Q: My amp seems to be malfunctioning. What can I do as an end user? Line 6 Amp Trouble Shooting Q: I am noticing hiss in the headphones with the Lowdown Studio 110? A: This may not be an issue on all Lowdown Studio 110 amplifiers. Depending on what brand of headphones you are using, as well as what amp model/settings are up, you may or may not hear hiss. Individual preference will determine if the perceived signal/noise ratio is acceptable. Please DO NOT return your Lowdown Studio 110 for a replacement unit if you feel that this is an issue. Our service centers would be happy to fix this issue for you. Keep in mind; this fix requires that one of our technicians perform a custom modification to the headphone amplifier, which requires that we open up your amp. The reason that some users may hear hiss is due to the gain structure design of this amp and a couple of surface mount resisters need to be replaced. Customer Support is unable to guide you through the repair and only our authorized service centers can take care of this fix. NOTE: If a customer opens up their amp and attempts to alter their electronics in any way, they will void your manufacturer’s warranty on their Lowdown Studio 110. Also, keep in mind that the repair may take several weeks based on the specific service center’s turn around time. If the nearest service center is too far from your location, and you need to ship your unit to that service center, Line 6 WILL NOT cover the associated shipping costs If you are aware of the above information and you still wish to have your amp repaired, Line 6 will cover the costs of parts and labor. Please have your receipt ready before you contact a service center. If you cannot find your receipt, please talk to the dealer where the amp was purchased, and request a duplicate receipt. Q: Where can I get replacement knobs/speakers/logos for my Lowdown amplifier? Line 6 Store Q: Where can I download a Lowdown amplifier manual? Line 6 Manuals
  18. Q: I have a blank screen on my Vetta? A: If you can't see any characters on your Vetta when you are going through the update, please angle your Vetta or look very closely at the screen at an angle. You should see a faint readout on the screen. If you cannot see anything at all (and adjusting the contrast does not help), you will need to reinstall the firmware. See the Vetta Software Update/Reflash Procedure for the correct method for reflashing your Vetta. Line 6 recommends (but does not officially support) the M-AUDIO MIDISport Uno. Some MIDI to USB devices use an old technology known as "active sensing" and/or they cannot handle the large file transfer. Please ensure that you install the correct drivers directly from the M-Audio website. Q: I have slow patch changes on my Vetta? A: If program changes seem slow when switching from preset to preset after you've upgraded the Vetta's software, you will want to reset the program memory. Here's how: Press SAVE and scroll to page 11 "RESET FACTORY". While on this page, press SAVE to reset the Factory Bank. The right LCD will read "restoring FACTORY bank". When this process is complete, scroll to page 12 "RESET USER" and press SAVE once again. The right LCD will now read "restoring USER bank". Press TAP when the process is complete. Program change should now be back to normal. If this does not fix the problem, you want to reinstall the FLASH MEMORY on your VETTA II. This time when you are asked if you want to keep your existing patches, click NO. Q: Presets are not saved after I reboot my Vetta? A: The internal battery should be relaced. We use lithium batteries in the Vetta to store the user presets, a common replacement is the Panasonic BR2325-1HG. The current battery will need to be de-soldered and replaced with a new battery. If you are not confident in doing this replacement, it should be performed by an authorized Line 6 Service Center. Q: I get no sound when I plug my Variax into my Vetta's VDI? A: Ensure that the Variax is outputing signal and that your Vetta is receiving the informing by check the step in the Vetta manual (see 47 and 440 for more information). Also, press the "Output Setup" button then rotate the page knob to page 4/4. Look for "Format" section and turn the format knob (first from the left) to 44.1/16. Q: I am receiving an "access error" on my Vetta? A: This is an internal hardware error that needs to be serviced at an authorized Line 6 service center. Q: I am receiving eight "black boxes" in the display on my Vetta? A: This is an internal hardware error that needs to be serviced at an authorized Line 6 service center. Q: How do I find an authorized Line 6 Service Center? Click here to find a Service Center.
  19. Application Q: What are the presets on my HD147 amplifier? A: The HD147 user presets are available from the manual download section. Q: What editing software works with the HD147? A: Line 6 Edit, which is a free download at www.line6.com/software. Q: How can I control my HD147 via MIDI? A: Please check the Appendix C on your Pilot's Handbook, you will have a list of MIDI program changes and their relation with the HD147 channels. So channel 1A would recall program 1 on your MIDI device. You can either overwrite program 1 on your device with the effects you want to use with channel 1A or you can go to the preset you want to use and internally reassign that preset to MIDI program 1 (if your device offer that option). You can also set the Expression pedal on a MIDI controller to the MIDI CC# you wish to control - for example if you want to control the Delay Mix with it set the CC# to 34. Please see the bottom of this document to download the HD147 manual. Setup/Connections Q: Is there a direct out on the HD147? A: There are stereo XLR outputs on the back of the unit to route the cabinet modeling directly to a PA or mixing console. Q: Which Line 6 floor controller(s) can I use with the HD147? A: We recommend the Line 6 FBV Shortboard , but any of the FBV series controllers will control the HD147. Q: Does the HD147 have an effects loop? A: Yes, the HD147 has a stereo unbalanced effect loop. Q: What is an effect loop used for? A: An effect loop is used for “line-level” input and output level devices. Many rack mount effect units are line level units, while most guitar effects are “instrument level” units meant to be run between the instrument and the amplifier. Q: Can I connect an external pre-amp (i.e. Line 6 POD unit) to the HD147? A: You can connect an external preamp into the or the effects loop return of the HD147. Be sure to use a ¼” dummy jack in the instrument input to send the head output to the speakers. Q: How should I connect my speaker cabinet(s) to the HD147? A:Please see the following document more more information on connecting cabinets to your HD147. Cabinet Connection and Ohm F.A.Q. Specifications Q: What's the rated wattage of my HD-147? A: The HD-147 is rated at 150w/channel RMS. 147 decibels is the level of loudness at which your head explodes. What we're trying to say is that this puppy is loud. Q: How many watts are my two 16 ohm cabs going to pull per side with my HD-147? A: A solid state amp without an impedance switch puts out more power with a lower speaker load. However, we do have an impedance switch in the back of the amp. The purpose of the switch is to make sure the amp puts out the same amount of power as long as it sees the correct load.
