    2.8 Lost Preset Fire Woman

A factory preset called 'Fire Woman' was lost when upgrading to v2.8 and I am hoping someone might have an archive of the original. The 'Fire Woman' preset had a Weeper wah, Bucket Brigade delay, Script Mod Phase modulation and Plate verb.

    Helix presets ready to mix

Hallo all! Just made all the guitar amps of helix ready for mix, dual tracked, equalized, etc. Just upload these to your helix and enjoy! P.s. All amps have different sound, some are for busy mix, other are overwhelming, other underwhelming. Depends on the mix. Meaning, that your favorite amp may not sound what you like. Instead, I made all amps with different flavors. Close your eyes, and try the amp by each own. You will not believe that the amp x works better than your favorite amp on the mix. Also, please try and give a comment. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/4r7gucctc4ydkye/AACzuVidRrsSbORyqG72fpwSa?dl=0 p.s.2 for the jtv users, i used the bundle to make these sounds, https://www.vguitarforums.com/smf/index.php?topic=24065.0

    How to save presets??

Dude this is getting ridiculous. How do I save newly created presets and changes?? I'm using Logic Pro X and I cannot for the life of me figure out what I am doing wrong here. I create a preset or I make changes to a preset, I click the drop down at the top left of the Helix Native plug-in and click SAVE. It acts like it saves something. I double click to a different preset then back. Changes are GONE. WTF am I doing wrong? Please help me as I am at the end of my rope here. I wanted to create, not perform IT functions in order to be able to do so. Thank you to anyone that can help me out here.

    links to download presets

Hi, I'm new to the Helix LT and I'm looking for links to download presets. I have seen here a topic where a lot of links to download IRs and cabs are included and I wonder if there is something similar for the presets Thank you! regards!
  8. Application Q: What are the presets on my Spider Valve Mk II amplifier? A: There are 64 presets (16 banks of 4) programmed into the amplifier at the factory, and 64 “empty preset locations for an end user to program. The “empty 64 preset locations have defaults (1-4) in them as a starting place. Q: I noticed that the Artist/Song Presets from the Spider IV are not present on the Spider Valve Mk II? A: Yes, as many end users had asked for more locations to store their personal presets, we have removed the artist/song presets for the Spider Valve Mk II. Q: Are the Spider Valve Mk II series amps Mono(phonic)? A: Yes, the Spider Valve Mk II series amplifiers have a monophonic output (as are most tube amplifiers). Q: How can I connect a POD unit to my Spider Valve Mk II series amplifier? POD Connections, Routing and the 4 Cable Method Q: Do the Master volume and presence control applied to the power amp section only? A: Yes, the master volume and presence control are true analog. Q: Where is the Master volume located in the chain? A: it is after the preamp, and before the power amp. Specifications Q: What are the specifications of the Spider Valve Mk II series? Spider Valve Mk II Specifications Q: What speakers are used in the Spider Valve Mk II amplifiers? Spider Valve 112: Celestion Vintage 30, 8 ohm Spider Valve 212: (2) Celestion Vintage 30s, 16 ohm Spider Valve 412 cabinet: (4) Celestion Vintage 30s, 16 ohm Q: What tubes ship in the Spider Valve Mk II amplifiers? What is the power output? Spider Valve Mk II 112 & 212: (2) Sovtek 12AX7B preamp tubes, (2) Sovtek 5881/6L6WGC power amp tubes. 40 watts. Spider Valve Mk II HD: (2) Sovtek 12AX7B preamp tubes, (4) Sovtek 5881/6L6WGC power amp tubes. 100 watts. Q: What are the function of the 12AX7 tubes? A: V1 is the booster to the output tubes, V2 is the phase inverter for the output tubes. When viewing the SV MKII HD100 upright from the back, V1 is on the right side. On the combo, V1 is on the left side. Q: Can the Spider Valve Mk II handle another 12A_7 style tube without damage to tubes or circuitry? A: Yes, but as these tubes act as a phase inverter and a boost to the power amp (rather than traditionally "cleaning up" the preamp section), you may not get the result you are looking for. Q: What Line 6 controllers work with the Spider Valve Mk II series amplifier? Controller compatibility chart Setup/Connection Q: Is there a bias switch to change the power tubes to EL-34s or other power tube types? A: No, the Spider Valve Mk II does not offer bias switchable options and was designed to only be used with 6L6 power amp output tubes. Q: Is there a headphone output on the Spider Valve Mk II series? A: There is no headphone output on the Spider Valve Series, but you can use the XLR output to go to a mixer, then use the headphone jack from the mixer. Q: Can I run my Spider Valve Mk II amplifier without a speaker load? A:No, you cannot run the Spider Valve Mk II series without a speaker load. Please see the following link for more information on cabinet connections: Cabinet Connection and Ohm F.A.Q. Q: Can the Spider Valve Mk II be run with a Variac? A: This is not recommended as the lower voltage can cause problems with the digital processing in the Preamp section of the Spider Valve Mk II. Q: Can I run a Palmer S.E., THD Hot Plate, Power Soak, etc. for speaker simulation or power attenuation? A: There are no known issues regarding the use of any direct recording simulators or power attenuators between the power amp output and the speaker cabinet, but if there is damage caused by improper connections or malfunctioning gear it will not covered under the Line 6 warranty. Q: Do the Spider Valve Mk II 112 and 212 combos support external speaker cabinets? If so, will the external cabs mute the internal speakers of the Spider Valve Mk II? A: Yes, the Spider Valve Mk II supports the use of additional cabinets. Please ensure that the ohm load is correct to avoid damaging your amplifier if you intend to use both the internal and external speakers simultaneously. Q: What is the bias voltage for the Sovtek 5881WXT tubes? A: 35 mV (+/-2mV) Q: Does the XLR output still send signal when the amplifier is on standby? A: In some cases yes, in some no. Spider Valve MkII actually has two different modes of Direct Out, which can be found in the SETUP menu in Edit Mode. They are Studio and Performance. Studio mode is a traditional, DSP POD-style output with speaker simulation and will function when the amplifier is in standby mode. In contrast, Performance mode takes a tap off the output transformer, then goes through the speaker simulation before going through the Direct Out. This allows the tubes to interact with the DSP, and because the amp has to be on to allow this to happen, there will be no signal at the XLR output in standby if Performance mode is selected. Q: Does the Spider Valve Mk II have an FX loop? A: the Spider Valve Mk II has a pre-amp out (effect send) and Power amp in (effect return) section. Q: Is the effect loop series or parallel? Is the effect loop mono or stereo? A: The effect loop is series mono. Q: Does the Spider Valve Mk II have MIDI ports? A: Yes, the Spider Valve Mk II amplifier series has both MIDI in and MIDI out ports, and the Spider Valve Mk II will accept MIDI program changes on MIDI Channel 1-16, from values 00-127. The MIDI channel assignment can be accessed by pushing the “preset encoder and using the left/right arrow key to reach “MIDI. This greatly increases the opportunity to integrate Spider Valve MkII’s into your existing rig, and will also allow you to update your amps firmware via MIDI. See the advanced user’s guide for the full MIDI story. Q: Can I send a MIDI output from the Spider Valve Mk II to another MIDI-capable Line 6 amplifier and control both amplifiers with one FBV controller? A: Yes, but as different Line 6 amplifiers have different MIDI implementation you will want to go through each control on the FBV to ensure that you get the desired control on both units. Q: Is there an editor where I can connect my Spider Valve Mk II to my computer and edit/store tones? A: Yes, Spider Valve Edit is the editing software that can be used to edit the Spider Valve Mk II. Please see the following link for more information: Spider Valve Edit FAQs Q: What do the FBV Shortboard series stomp, FX Loop/Function 1, and Function 2 do? A: The Stomp button activates the "boost" on both the original FBV shortboard series (Mark I) and Mark II controllers. The FX Loop (Mk I)/Function 1 (Mk II) activates the Noise gate. The Function 2 (Mk II only) activates the loop feature on the Spider Valve Mk II. Q: What do the FBV Shortboard MkII Function 1 and Function 2 buttons do with Spider Valve MkII? How is it different from the original FBV Shortboard? A: The Function 1 button activates the Boost setting saved with each preset. The Boost setting (up to 8db pre and/or post amp model) can be found by entering “edit mode on the SV MkII and pressing the R arrow on the 4-way nav button. The button equivalent to Function 1 on the original FBV Shortboard is labeled FX Loop. The Function 2 button (FBV Shortboard MkII only) is equivalent to the Quick Loop button on the faceplate of the SV MkII, and arms the built in Looper. For full functionality of the Looper, see the Spider Valve MkII Advanced User Guide. In addition, the Stomp button activates the first Smart FX on both the original and MkII FBV Shortboard controllers. Q: Can I run the Spider Valve Mk II head with only the outer two power tubes (removing the inner pair) to operate at a lower output volume? A: Yes, it is safe to run the Spider Valve Mk II Head with two 6L6s. It is recommended that the output impedance be run at "half" when running in this configuration. An example would be running the 8 ohm head output connected to the 16 ohm cabinet connection, or the 4 ohm output to an an 8 ohm cabinet connection. Line 6 recommends re-biasing your amplifier to 35mv after removing the tubes, as the current draw will have changed. Q: Where is the fuse located in the chain? A: The fuse is located between the 12AX7s and 6L6s (there is no “master fuse). Spider Valve Cabinet FAQs Q: What are the specs for the Line 6 4x12 cabinet? A: 9 ply, ¾ wood with Celestion Vintage 30 speakers. There is no “internal baffle. Q: What are the ohm load options for the 4x12 cabinet? A: The switchable ohm load options for the 4x12 cabinet are 16 ohm mono, 8 ohm stereo, and 4 ohm mono. Trouble shooting Q: What is the manufacturer’s warranty for Spider Valve Mk II? A: The warranty for the Spider Valve Mk II amplifier is 12 months from the date of purchase, the tubes warranty is 90 days from the date of purchase. Q: How do I perform a factory reset on my Spider Valve Mk II? A: The factory reset for the Spider Valve Mk II series is to hold the "A" button while powering the unit, then pushing the “presets encoder twice. Q: I hear a loud "pop" when I switch between certain presets on the Spider Valve MKII. Is this normal? A: Sometimes if the Channel Volume is set or saved too low on a preset a loud pop will be heard when navigating to it and away from it. This is because of the level difference between it and the other saved presets. Try adjusting the preset's Channel Volume above "12:00" and saving again. This should level out the difference between the presets and eliminate the popping sound. Q: Will using different brands of 6L6 tubes in the Spider Valve Mk II void the warranty? A: No, feel free to experiment with other tubes of the same type as long as they are correctly biased. Q: My amp seems to be malfunctioning. What can I do as an end user? Amp Troubleshooting Tube Troubleshooting and Replacement *Q: Where can I download a Spider Valve Mk II manual? Line 6 Manuals Miscellaneous Q: Where can I get a cover for my Spider Valve Mk II amplifier? Cases And Covers
  9. Hey ya'll, I searched the forums for this exact question and haven't had any luck yet. I'm still fairly new to the HX Stomp. I wish to move through the Presets (i.e. 35b, 35c, 36a, 37b, etc), while in stompbox mode, with my foot instead of bending down to turn the top wheel. Is that possible with an external pedal of some kind, or is there a way within the Stomp itself? Maybe I completely missed this in the manual. Thanks!

    Amp+Cab Preset Pack

bit.ly/AmpCabPack These are (now 31) very simple Amp+Cab presets for any Helix device with amp models, meant to be a “jumping off” point for bigger presets. Every preset contains an Amp+Cab block, with a few of the amp’s parameters assigned to Footswitch 1 for a different sound, kind of a Clean/Dirty channel thing. There are two folders, one for Stomp and one for the Floor/LT/Rack/Plugin (the later named “Full”). These presets were programmed with an HX Stomp playing though Yamaha HS5 studio monitors in a treated room, crossreferenced with a QSC K8.2. I’ve tweaked each preset using 4 guitars so they’ll hopefully sound good with whatever you’re plugging in with minimal tweaks. The 4 guitars I used are: a vanilla Strat with a MIJ Body with MIM electronics and a Warmoth neck, a Strat with 500k pots, a SD Hot Rails in the bridge position and noiseless single coils (bright sound) — a stock PRS S2 Standard 24 (warm sound) — and an Ibanez Iron Label S 7 string with Dimarzio Ionizers (high output). Yes, I ran a 7 String through a Fender Champ model and it was FUN! Leave some feedback or questions if you'd like. Thanks and enjoy, Alex Kenivel PS this is the third revision of this pack. More presets will be added so watch this space for more.

    Variax Standard, you complete me

I finally found a great deal on a (not) scratch n dent V-Standard at SW, and after 2.2 days I'm starting to get blown away. Let me back up. I entered the modeling realm with an HD500 when they were fresh (what, 2010?), thinking that I'd have more capability than the Spider Valve MkI that amazed me. First thing I noticed on the POD was that all the stock presets sucked. Playing at very low volume, I had to develop my own, which relied on a fair bit more gain than I'd normally go for in order to achieve any kind of crunch. I moved from FRFR to DT amps, but still, always kinda had more gain than I wanted (except when I went totally clean with the lovely Twin model). I picked up a Variax 600 and finally reached "dream rig" status, but really only liked the Strat models, Tele neck, and the Rick bridge. The alt tunings seemed kinda crappy too. Most of the other electric models were just too loud--much louder and with more gain than my real guitars with hot pups. When I first tried my new V-Standard, it was looking like more of the same (except usable mags). So I wondered, how do I get away from my presets with too much gain and into presets that work for my Variax? In an epiphany of sorts, I started trying out all those presets in my HD500 that sucked, and guess what? NO MO SUCKY! They're amazing, for the most part. Also, to my surprise, they all have variax settings already. So all I had to do was plug my dream rig in, using an ethernet cable and the digital L-6 Link, and now folks, I hardly have to tweak, I can just play my heart out! Turns out those patches were very well crafted using Variaxes of some kind, and so far about 2/3 are keepers! Has anyone else noticed this as well, or am I the first to stumble on this total treasure chest? The magnetic pickups are pretty sweet too! But the other thing I'm really thrilling over is the neck on the Variax Standard. I was afraid that something this flat, this thin, and with medium frets might not work for my aging knuckles, but I gotta tell you that even with 10's at concert pitch this thing is a joy for my hand! It's the most comfortable neck I've felt since the Japanese Variax 700 I've been wishing I'd have bought--and that's saying a lot. I do have questions: Is the light on the alt tuning knob supposed to be only momentary (unless you go to the "model" position)? I wish the thing would stay lit in mag mode so I could dial up the tuning I want without activating all those other tunings in between. Does anybody know how hard it would be to change pick guards? I'm thinking white would look very sweet with my sunburst brown... THANKS!!! Mike

    Helix jazz tones

I'm new to Helix, having used it for about 3 weeks. I have had no history of working with modeling equipment and software. I've gone through most of Jason Sadites' tutorials - very instructive and helpful. I am interested in developing some presets for jazz guitars, particularly hollow bodies such as the D'Angelico Excel EXL1. I'm looking for a clean, round sound. I've attached a preset I made with dual amps and cabs, hopefully to give more depth to the tone. I'm using a Roland 40 amp, but plugging the Helix into the effects jack on the back; this appears to bypass the preamp. The tone was created for the D'Angelico. I applied some compression to the lows and highs of both modeled amps to decrease muddiness and too bright tonalities. I used EQs to specifically target frequencies which feed back on the guitar. Any thoughts/assistance in the elements and/or layout of the preset would be much appreciated. Randall RBS JC40 EXL1b.hlx
  15. As I run my Line 6 UX 2 today, all the presets were gone. I refreshed the presets in the tab and after it it was empty. Newest software has been downloaded but this has not fixed my problem.

    Snapshots & Presets

Hi, Anyone use Snapshots and Non Snapshot presets? Current snapshots doesn't give me enough space for additional foot switchable effects.
  17. Hi, I am new to using digital equipment (analog guy) and I replaced my pedal board for an HX Effects. Amp channel switching works fine in preset mode. However, if I want to switch to another preset, there is this short time of no sound, to load the other preset. Here comes in the snapshots, so that problem is solved. But now i cannot use amp channel switching in snapshot mode. Is there solutions/workaround to be able to switch between channels AND without that short period of nothing to load another preset or sound? I hope somebody has an answer to this.
  18. Hi! hoping to share some presets for the HX effects and try some from others. Is their a good place to find / download these as well as IRs. Thanks
  19. I'm loving my Helix for live use and recording. To bring this powerful unit over the top I think LINE 6 should petition/hire Pete Thorn to create and share his presets for the HELIX. I recently watched a Pete Thorn video where he set up a Helix to act as a backup should his amp setup run into technical issues. Given this musician's talent for creating tones, I would imagine these to be VERY realistic sounding patches. In addition, I participated in a chat where Pete himself said he would be game for creating something for Line 6 :-) What do you think Line 6/Helix users?
  20. Hello all, I have an Amplifi 150. When the amp is not connected to a bluetooth phone or tablet, it has 4 "favorite" presets accessible trough the TONE button. To which bank on the remote app do these presets correspond? Bank 1 or the user bank 25 at the end of the list? Thanks.
  21. I just bought a used Line 6 Spider 3 HD150 head from Guitar Center. I powered it up and started to play (through headphones as I do not yet have the cab for it) and it worked fine for about 30 seconds. I looked down at my FBX longboard and noticed that it had switched banks by itself from Bank 2 to Bank 3. I switched it back to Bank 2 and the preset channel I was using, then the sound cut out. After 2 seconds it came back. Then it started doing it over and over. I noticed it was actually powering off and on repeatedly. Any advice on steps I should take to correct the issue? I have 45 days to return it if I can't fix it. Thanks in advance.
  22. My PODHD500 custom presets were deleted once I synced my HD500 with HD500 Edit. Do I have to start over or is there a way to get them back?
  23. Okay, I can't seem to find an answer to this online. All of a sudden, my global settings aren’t saving. I had it set to snap/stomp mode, and 10 switches, but whenever I power it on now, it goes to preset mode and doesn't save the mode I previously set it to. Also, my Helix used to power up on the same preset it was on when powered down, now it just goes to 1A Factory Preset. The only thing I changed was, I was messing with the midi settings the other night, trying to get a midi foot controller I have, to talk to and control the Helix, so I may have changed a midi channel or preference, but that's it.
