We have some important info for those of you planning on updating to Helix Stadium/XL from Helix/HX devices: *Make sure your Helix/HX has been updated to 3.50 or newer firmware BEFORE you export any of your stuff *Helix Stadium cannot import full-state BACKUPS from Helix/HX. However, you can extract Presets, IRs, and Favorites (which all CAN be loaded into Helix Stadium) from a backup file via HX Edit, even if you don’t have Helix/HX hardware. From HX Edit’s File menu, select "Extract Files From Backup.” *If you still have your Helix/HX hardware (or Helix Native), presets, IRs, and even favorites can be dragged out of HX Edit/Helix Native to your desktop or any finder window and then dragged back into Stadium via the Helix Stadium app *We’ve mentioned this before, but note that the older Hybrid cab engine is NOT in Helix Stadium—only the new cab engine that came with 3.50 and later builds. Any presets with Hybrid cabs will automatically load an equivalent new cab, which will sound different. *Also note that, at least at launch, Stadium won't be able to automap your IR library to existing presets, due to its all new, much more powerful file system. Unfortunately, you'll need to write down which IR(s) each preset uses. We're hoping that automapping might work in a future FW rev (depending on how annoying it is), but there's no promise—much less timeline—implied. *There are a few other minor caveats (select HX EQ models appearing as our new 7-band Parametric, EQ bandwidth and slope improvements, pan laws, parallel vs. serial levels, single vs. dual cab levels, etc.) but we're currently working on a document (and accompanying video perhaps?) called something like "Getting Ready For Helix Stadium” which will provide details So while transferring presets from Helix/HX to Stadium may not be perfectly seamless, Helix/HX presets are actually sounding a bit better in Stadium, which can be apparent in reverb tails, noise level, headroom, etc.

Hello everyone, I have the Spider V 30 MkII amplifier. It has a huge list of presets that I don't need, and since the list is so long, I spend a lot of time browsing through them. I would like to delete most of them and keep only the ones I need. If anyone knows how to do this, please help me

I just bought a used Line 6 Flextone Duo a couple months ago and it has an issue where the presets will not allow me to save, or adjust them. Ill press save and select a channel but it will just switch to that channel instead of saving. I've tried resetting the presets, I've tried pressing them randomly while trying to save on them, I've used manual mode to create the tone and switching after pressing save. I don't know what to do, and I hope I didn't just waste my money on a lemon of an amp. (also has issues with the compressor sounding like its moving all over the place, and its randomly changing the tone while playing. It will be more clear one second, but then sound muffled, then moves around like that) -

Hello, How can we retrieve the presets, snapshots, bank names or list using MIDI ? (SysEx,CC, PC, Note or else ?) Is this possible ? Thank you very much for any help on it. Best regards. -
I've scoured the manual and noted the various MIDI settings, but I can't see a way of scrolling up/down through presets via MIDI... Am I missing something? I'm running a GigRig G3 and it would be great to be able to assign a footswitch to "preset up/down"

Hi all.... I'm a noob to the game. Bought a used POD X3 Live and am running the learning curve to get the most out of it. After installing Gearbox on my Mac Book Pro running Sierra (v10.12.6) I noticed a few folders in the Line 6 directory created in my Doc's. There's plenty of 'presets / patches' in there but none of them will load into Gearbox's 'Hardware Memory Window'! The message displayed is always "Tone Load: Unable to load tone; Reason (Code 8000A009) Unsupported patch type". Are these 'registered patches' that I need to pay for or is there something wrong with the file extension (.l6t) .... if so... why does Gearbox provide these as 'available' when you install it but then block them from use? I've looked for this 'error message' in other treads here in the Line 6 Community but the few I found have 0 responses and are over a decade old! I'm currently reading the Gearbox_Help.pdf but there's a LOT of info in that and is taking some sweet time to get through. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. -
Before I start - I've already updated the firmware on my Stomp (3.50), and HX Edit is on the latest version (3.51). I've also restored the factory settings on the device itself by holding down the two right pedals and turning on the unit. Additionally, I've uninstalled and reinstalled HX Edit. Nothing has worked so far. My computer is running the latest version of macOS Ventura 13.2.1. My issue is - anytime I try to import a new preset into HX Edit and subsequently onto HX Stomp, HX Edit crashes entirely and I have to relaunch. I've tried dragging and dropping presets onto a New Preset slot, selecting a New Preset slot and clicking Import, and File -> Import Preset - all to the same effect. I've attached three screenshots of the issue, so hopefully that helps. The preset I attempt to import in the video is from Alex Strabala's Matchless HX Stomp series. It is clearly marked as an HX Stomp preset. Hoping someone else has experienced this and resolved it. Super frustrating, as part of the reason I purchased the Stomp was to load custom presets from creators. If I can't figure this out, I'm not sure why I'd use the unit. Help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I have two problems folks: 1. Has anyone else had a problem with making the Auto Volume model work properly on the second bank of presets? 2. Is anyone aware of a way to achieve spillover between presets? -
My Pod HD500X recently packed up (le cry) and I had the Bass Amp Pack downloaded on it which I purchased about a year ago. I bought a NEW HD500X for teaching and because it's familiar - but I can't find a way to redownload my previous bass settings with the pack. Is this possible to transfer packs over from one HD500X to another? -
Yo stompers! I'm using the stomp XL in a show so I've got loads of snapshots to play through. I've currently got it set up so that I cycle through the 4 snapshots then move onto a new preset with 4 more snapshots (repeat ad nauseam). The issue I have is that when I switch to the next preset, snapshot 1 isn't auto selected. Sometimes it's on 2, sometimes 3, sometimes 4(!). How do I set it to default to snapshot 1 when moving to a new preset? Thanks.

Hi, I use an hx stomp in snapshot mode with a dissster area designs micro midi switch to scroll up and down through the preset list. This works great. However due to a fat feet issue I inherited from my grand mother I occasionally, in the heat of the moment, find myself stepping on two foot switches at once and instead of switching to a searing solo snapshot that wows my legion of fans, I end up in scroll mode and have to smile and hope my facial expressions convey the epic tone I was meant to switch to. Is there any way to disable this dual foot switch ‘preset list scrolling’ feature on the stomp?

I was wondering if anyone was aware of a site or forum that might have other's takes on how to set your presets to sound like "insert player/band/song here". For example, a simple one might be Kurt Cobain's tone for "Come As You Are". I play in a cover band that does a pretty wide range of tunes and it would make life a little faster if there was a good reference/starting point out there!

I have a Pod Go, but i'm confused about the extra momentary switches you can connect. Is it possible to assign two more presets to the momentary switches when in preset mode, without switching banks?

hi. im a beatbox artist. so i using helix. and i doin jammin with loops. and sharing stuffs with other artists.. yeah! but i import wrong bundles. and i turn off my HX EDIT before done to import . cause i feels like "oh sh..!" and i reboot my helix. and its everything gone. i didn't back ups.. but i need to using that presets..!! any advices??!???? i need help. thanks :) -
Short introduction. Hi, we're Becksteetsj (.wordpress.com). Were an amateur band producing different types of music with a consistance of four bandmembers playing in varying compositions and sometimes with guest musicians. Our goal is to have fun en joy! Started with Line 6 with a spider II 15w. Great amp, but speaker to weak for me. Learned it. Loved it. Eventually sold it, to ... Eventually upgraded to a spider III 30w. Great amp. Learned it. Love it. Double-graded with a spider IV 30w next to my III. Even greater. Love this one to. Still slightly learning, and therefore my question. Both used for playing. The III in my livingroom for jamming. And the IV in my studio, both used to record with speaker (mic-ed) or directly plugged in. But i still have a question about the storaging pre-sets on this IV. There are four knobs. On my II & III i could store 4 pre-sets over 4 amp-models. Keep pushed till it is set, simple. But this IV reacts different, after blinking (as on II&III) i then a/b/c/d start blinking together and i can select 1 of 4 (this is new to me). Looks to me that i can store 4 pre-sets for each amp-model? Am i thinking right? 4 pre-sets on 6 amp-models = 24 pre-sets? Or do i still have 4 pre-sets over all 6 amp-models? Or 4 times 4 = 16?? Thank you in advance for your help.

Hello everyone, I own a Pod Go and have been looking for presets to purchase and tweak to my liking. I've purchased many different presets, and really like them but I've also noticed that there are not many people selling presets for the Pod Go. Usually they are recreations of one of their Helix/HX patches adapted for the Pod Go. Lately, I've been watching YouTube videos of Helix and HX Stomp users making presets and giving their tips etc. On to my question... The Pod Go Edit software does NOT have the ability to open Helix/HX Stomp preset files, only Pod Go Edit files. Being that I don't have a Helix or HX Stomp is there a way I could purchase Helix/HX presets and view the amp/cab and other pedal settings? This way I can recreate them on the Pod Go. I'm not looking for freebies, but I just need to see the numbers to recreate them on my Pod Go. Is there software that might allow me to view the preset settings of the Helix/HX Stomp files? Thanks in advance for help with an odd request!

Hello Helix Community, Has anyone experienced a huge change in preset sounds after changing pickups in their guitars? I just had a Seymour Duncan JB installed in the bridge and a 59 in the neck of my PRS SE Custom 24. These replaced the originally 85/15s pickups which I thought were ok, but never satisfied with the sounds. I play lots of different styles from Steely Dan to Tool to Opeth to Porcupine Tree, so versatility is important for me. The clean sounds from these pups are amazing, didn’t know this guitar could sound so beautiful. But, any tones with gain or distortion sound absolutely terrible in every position. I usually only use the bridge for high gain and it sounds flat, harsh with no punch. Every preset with gain sounds the same no matter the amp model or different signal chain.
