Hi there, I have a little problem with my pod hd500: When working with patches in the ABCD mode the postion of the effects assigned to the footswitches 1-4 always stay the same. What I mean is: I have saved a patch with a effect on fs1 that is activated. I turn it off. Then I change to preset 2 and back to the first one (with the effect pedal). The effect will be turned on again, even if I left it deactivated. When switching to a preset the footswitches always return exactly to the positon in which they are saved. :( I find that really annoying. Any possibilties to change that, so that the pod will remember if I turned the effect on or off without saving it everytime (which isn't possible while playing of course). I hope you understood my question, :) Steven

I installed my UX2 on my new pc and downloaded latest version of PODFarm (2.57) from line6 site. As it was first installed on my old pc, I ran the licenser and authorized both pc and the device. Problem : I have NO preset tones in it! I remember when I installed it on my old pc I found A LOT of great and useful tone, all already present in it, but now the library is empty! I found some presets clicking on 'open' tones in the 'gear box'->'tones' folder, but they are less and different from those I had (Some I remember were 'Glass', 'Acoustic', Get the funk out', 'Outer Space' etc.) , but I have to open these new ones one by one, and save them one by one to have them in the library...... How / where can I find all the old ones and import them back in the library? I really need to find those tones, can anyone help me? Thank you very much!!

Hello I bought a Line6 UX2 last year, and it always worked good. On emonth ago my pc crashed, so I bought a new one and had to re.install all programs. A few days ago I installed again my UX2 with its PODFarm 2.55; I ran the licenser and IT authorized at once both the device and my new pc. First time I opened it, i found totally EMPTY the library where I found all guitar tones : Both the prests tones and those I created were missing! I closed it, and tried to open it again. It didn't open! Every time I try to run PODFarm, I receive an error message, you can see it attached. ' POD Farm failed to initialize L6TWXYframework. (Code 0x8000e00a) ' What does it means? How can have it working again? And even if starting again.... How can I get back all the guitar tones I had???? (presets and created ones) Please help me!! Thank you ver much to everyone could give me some direction! Federico

Hi, I don't know if it's a bug coming from POD HD Edit or the hardware unit itself but it's VERY annoying. I already lost some custom presets because of it. What's happening is when I'm tweaking then saving my presets on the POD or POD HD Edit, the preset is saved in the location I specified (let's say setlist 3, 12B) but it's also sometime duplicated and saved in another setlist (setlist 2 for ex, 12B) erasing whatever preset was populating the 12B space. Unfortunately I can't replicate this issue as it seems to happen randomly. The duplicate always saves in the same preset spot as the original (for ex. 14C) but in a different setlist. But it's happening quite often to be VERY annoying and frustrating, especially when you discover a duplicate of your Metallica preset in your Pop Rock setlist, erasing the Santana preset you have been tweaking to perfection for months... Oddly I could only find one thread mentioning this exact same issue: http://line6.com/supportarchivenew/thread/91585 Maybe it's the way we both use POD HD Edit or the POD. The POD factory setlists are loaded, leaving me with 3 empty setlists I populated and are now almost full. My setlists are organized as follow: 1/ Metal 2/ Pop Rock Acoustic 3/ Ambient FX that's why it's easy for me to spot a preset that doesn't belong to one or other setlist. To save a patch I either use the SAVE button on the POD or send it from POD HD Edit to the POD. I sometime reorganize my setlists moving patches all over the place, and I'm always very careful to what I do so when there's a duplicate, it's not user error. The only workaround I found (which is actually not really a workaround) is to save my preset bundle before editing, and then again in another file after editing so I can compare both bundles preset after preset and see the changes. Very annoying once again, but at least this way I'm not losing any patch. This really needs to get fixed.

drum presents and backing track doesn't sound. I was able to record using the presets very well. Today I turn on my amp and any of my recording aren't sounding. The Demo doesn't sound. What sounds are the guitars and bass recorded, what respect to the amp and his effects are fine. What do you suggest ?

Hi Does anyone know an easy way to find the Line6-created tones from Tone search? If I enter Line 6 I get 30 but I'm sure there are much more. Anyone got any bright ideas? cheers Shakey

I would like to add a cabinet model to all my presets of one of my setlists. Is there any other way than doing it one by one? I have a setlist with all the presets I use for live performing. These presets have don't have a Cab model selected, as I send the POD output through the power amp section of my half stack. On the other hand, for home (pc) recording, I want to use the same setlist, but with a cab model (can be the same model for all presets). I can duplicate the setlist by saving it on my pc and opening it in the Edit program, but in the duplicated set, I want to enable a cab model. I have tried to select mutiple presets (CTRL + click) and change the cab, but that updates only the active one. Would there be any means at all? Or is possible to export the setlist to a csv (comma separated) file, and have it in excel for batch editing, then re-import it in the Edit program? thanks!

Hi I have only had the HD500 about a week but I cannot seem to navigate around the user presets and set lists etc without having to connect my laptop and use the HD 500 Edit . Is that normal as I cant see anyway of navigating as it seems if I am in SET LIST 1 for example I can switch between only those patches only and not bank up or down into the other set lits or fixed presets via the pedal board or the Home screen ? Help? Apologies in advance if I am being thick All the best G

Ok so I recently purchased an M5 and I have read the manual several times regarding this and I still cant figure out how to save presets. I want to swap the 24 pre loaded presets for 24 of my own presets. I clearly must be doing something wrong because when I follow the steps in the manual the name doesn't change and the original effect stays in preset 1. Can anybody help me with this ? Thanks

The new AMPLIFi amps seem great for practice or studio use, but I can't see them being used to play live very easily. With a limit of only 4 presets stored in the amp at any time it seems like playing live with it would be difficult and nerve racking. The iOS App is great, but there is some latency when using it to switch presets so I don't think it could be used very easily on stage. I'm surprised that the AMPLIFi amps don't have preset banks like other Line 6 amps. It would be nice if you could store at least 9 banks with 4 presets each to make using the amp live easier. Maybe in AMPLFIi2.

how can i change the presets in my Aplifi 75, to use them with my express pedal? i want to send my 4 favorite tones to the Amp permanently. I do not find any manual for the iOS App.

Hello all Is there any way to keep the lcd screen showing the position of the knobs instead of the preset name when operating the amp? When playing live, and especially when using the venue's cab you have to tweak the EQs of each preset for the venue..and time for soundcheck is not always ideal... As a result sometimes you just have to fine-tune EQs on the fly in the first songs, but this is very difficult since you dont know the actual position of each EQ for the current preset. For example, if you want to add a liitle bass, the actual bass knob may be at 12 o'clock but the preset position may be at 9, so in order to add a little bass you have to roll the bass knob down (provided you remember that it was initially set at 9)...confusing eh? If you could see the preset knob position in the lcd screen you'd take this as your basis and know what to do.. Manual mode is a good work-around if you only play with one preset OR if you only use one amp simulation. I'm sure I'm not the only one with this problem.. Alternativelly, is there any way of bringing the position of the virtual knobs on screen without changing any of the EQs or volume? Thanx in advance.. PS. I know this has been mentioned in other topics, but no solution has been given and I find it to be a major issue, so I decided to open a dedicated topic on this.

**** Sorry. I accidentally posted this twice somehow.**** Hello. Whenever I use Spider IV Edit to make changes in my presets, The changes are not being edited in my amp. The connection is good between the amp and the PC, the software recognizes my amp, my amp has latest update, etc... I send/recieve the change once it is done but when I shut down the program and disconnect the CAT cable the presets on the amp stay as they were. I have tried looking in the help file and I have looked online and I am just stuck. If anyone can point me in the right direction I would really appreciate it. Thanks,(\m/(>.<)\m/) Steven D

I just bought this particular used Spider Mark I and I must say it is quite something. However, the presets present an issue because there are so many of them and there is no way to know what they really are other than going through each, one by one, and taking notes. Not exactly user friendly. Has anyone compiled a listed of these things? Fender puts out lots of supporting docs for their Mustang and GDEC amps that spell out things like all the band presets, what band did them, what key they are in, what amp and fx settings are for each, etc.

Hi, all, when I got my Spider IV 30, I messed around with the original presets -- now I'd like to get them back. I have an amp with only four presets, not the newer one with many more. Any suggestions?

I've just been playing a little over a year now and borrowing equipment that whole time. i finally stepped up and bought my uncle's Dillion Les Paul and Epiphone Casino. I'd taken the Yamaha THR5 and a Vox back to GC twice, because I really didn't have time to learn amp settings and chords, scales, songs, etc. The Spider seemed to be the answer for now with all the saved songs, etc, many of which I'm trying to learn. I like it so far because I can actually see visually the changes each song makes and maybe improve my hearing on what different sounds sound like. One question though. Say I select Day Tripper. I know that all the effects change that light up. Does the bass, treble, mid etc also change automatically for that tune? Since there is no light associated with those knobs I wasn't sure if I need to manually adjust those. I'm hoping all that changes automatically and all I have to do is change the Master Volume. If anyone knows of youtube videos out there with a real in depth instruction on using the amp it would be great. The best one I'd found, which was short and didn't address the presets was by Rob Chappers.

When using a James Tyler Variax Guitar with a PODxt Live, POD X3 Live, or X3 Pro, the POD presets will not recall Variax models as originally saved with a Variax 300, 500, 600, or 700 electric guitars.? You would need to re-save your presets with the desired model with the James Tyler Variax plugged in. When attempting to set the Variax model with a JTV guitar using a POD X3 Live/Pro and GearBox 3.72 software, you will experience a condition where the "Don't Force Model" message appears and will not allow for you to save Variax Model associations to your X3 Live/Pro patch. The current workaround is to save JTV model associations manually (without GearBox open) after you've performed any GearBox-related patch edits/organization. This behavior does not exist with POD HD500 via HD500 Edit; only with the older X3 Live/Pro (GearBox) editing scheme. We apologize for the inconvenience to JTV and X3 Live/Pro owners wishing to use the software editing aspect for Variax model-X3Live/Pro patch associations at this time.

Q: Why do presets I built from scratch sound different than similar factory presets? A: When creating new presets from scratch and comparing the tone to an existing factory preset with the same settings, please remember to check the mixer settings of that preset to see if they may be different than how you have it set in your own preset.? If the mixer settings of the factory preset are different than the mixer settings of another identical preset, they can both sound different than each other even though they share the same amp model and tone settings. The mixer settings are saved per preset and are NOT global.
