  1. I think that title says it all, but I have some specific ideas on how and why it might currently benefit Line6 to do this. My brother works in a similar hardware/software environment and said it would be super easy. Users just have to be willing to make it worth their while. Please, for your first post, vote “YES” or “NO.” Then, post again, so it will be easy to tally the vote.
  2. Scenario: I have my Focusrite audio interface setup as my In/Out device Audio settings. I have my HX Stomp connected to the Mac via USB. I do not want to use the Stomp as an audio interface. So, I turn on the Focusrite, launch Logic, all is good. The Focusrite shows up under Audio device as my in/out. However, when I turn on the Stomp, Logic “grabs” it and makes it my Audio device. I can’t find a way to stop logic from recognizing the Stomp as the Audio device. I would like to use HX Edit with the Stomp, but not have it be my audio device. Current work around is to unplug the USB cable and only plug it in when I need it. But it just seems that there must be a way to stop Logic from using it as an Audio device but still allow HX Edit to be usable with the Stomp. many help would be greatly appreciated. Mac using Catalina and current Logic Pro. Stomp is current firmware.
  3. Greetings, I stopped getting an input signal on my PODxt Pro. I tried various guitar cables, and I reinstalled the 3.02 firmware from the Line 6 Monkey. Nothing else is plugged into the unit other than the AC cable and the input cable. It's clearly not a setting; I can't even get a signal to use the tuner. Seems like a hardware issue, but here's how I've troubleshot this so far; perhaps I've missed something obvious along the way. First of all, it would seem that after some searching, that this issue is not unique to me. Also, for what it's worth, I had (for some reason) version 1.14 of the USB firmware on the unit, despite the fact that the current version was listed as 1.12 in the Monkey. Thinking that this might be the problem, I tried restoring the current version of the USB firmware back to version 1.12, so that they matched. No dice. Repeated power cycles do nothing, and the line level input on the back isn't getting any input signal either. Sending a clean guitar signal through USB doesn't work either, so it obviously isn't getting any signal at the front end. The signal light on the front remains perpetually dark. I have all model packs installed, and the unit has been sitting in a climate controlled rack in a studio, so it is in mint condition. I am at a loss, and am not sure what to do, as I rely on this in my studio. Another follow-up question... Since I rolled back the USB firmware to 1.12, there doesn't now seem to be a way to get it back to 1.14. Most reports I see say that 1.14 is the latest version of the USB firmware, yet the Line 6 Monkey is telling me that 1.12 is the latest. Was there an issue discovered with version 1.14 of the USB firmware such that it was removed from the update servers? I also ran the entire update process again from another computer with a different USB cable. Same deal. Another thing to note is that while the device is fully recognized through the OS, and the MIDI functionality seems to be fine, the audio interface element of the PODxt Pro is not functioning properly. The device is recognized in the Sound System Preference (and the Audio/MIDI Setup) but sound will not come out of it for regular computer sound output (like iTunes, for example.) In addition to this, I just noticed a slight but audible buzzing/hum sound inconsistently coming from the unit, which sounds similar to an alternating current's 60 Hz hum sometimes caused by EMI or a ground loop. I've never noticed this until right now. A power cycle of the unit lessened it to some degree, but it's still there faintly, which obviously causes further concern. Has anyone else with a PODxt Pro experienced anything like this? I'm sure the answer is what I don't want to hear: that I'll need to take it to a service center. Thanks in advance, Jeff
  4. Q: How many Rack Units does the X3 Pro take up? A: 3 Rack Units Q: What are the dimensions of the POD X3 Pro? A: X3 Pro Dimensions: Width: 17" (19" including the ears) Heighth: 5" Depth: 8" Q: The Specifications on the web states that the X3Pro requires USB 2.0 but the actual USB input on the back panel is not labeled. Does it required USB 2.0? A: POD X3 Pro, as well as POD X3 and X3 Live, requires USB 2.0. For details on USB connectivity please refer to the USB Connectivity Guide Q: How do I restore the X3 Pro to it’s the Factory Presets? A: Press and hold the 'Home/Hold For Commands' button, select'Reset User Presets' and press the 'Save' knob to reset the User bank to its factory presets. Q: Will the included POD Farm Plugin require us to use the X3Pro as a dongle? A: The POD Farm Plugin works with the POD X3 Pro just like it does with other compatible products. The answer is yes. Q: Are any of the inputs/outputs, processors or other hardware/software sonically superior to the X3L/Bean? A: No Q: What are the MIDI implications of the X3 Pro? A: The MIDI Implications are the same as the POD X3 and the POD X3 Live. The X3 series include a USB connection, and these units will both expose a set of USB MIDI In/Out ports on your Windows or Mac computer. However, these devices utilize different types of commands and, therefore, will not respond to MIDI control data. As with POD X3 Live, the Pro includes 5-pin MIDI In/Out jacks that can be used strictly for receiving MIDI Program Change messages (For scrolling through User Presets) and for sending MIDI CC data when using the onboard pedal for Volume, Wah, and Tweak parameters. Q: What is the software compatibility of the X3 Pro? A: The POD X3 Pro is currently compatible with Line 6 Monkey, Gearbox, Guitarport Online, Workbench (w/ a Variax Guitar), and as a dongle for the POD Farm Plug-in (within your DAW only). Q: How can I tell which version of Flash Memory & USB firmware is installed in my X3Pro? A: Press and hold 'OUTPUTS' for system settings. Use the directional keys to scroll to the last page: The versions are displayed under 'CNTRST'™ Shown as: FLASH MEMORY VERSION: x.xx USB FIRMWARE VERSION: x.xx Q: How do I sync the POD X3 Pro to slave over S/PDIF? A: The POD X3 Pro expects the master clock signal on its S/PDIF input only, so, connecting the S/PDIF IN must be connected to master clock source. Make sure you connect the S/PDIF OUT on your POD X3 Pro to the S/PDIF IN of your clock master unit and S/PDIF IN on your POD X3 Pro to S/PDIF OUT of your clock master. In the INPUTS page of the POD X3 Pro, set anything BUT Variax as Tone 1 and Tone 2 and DIGITAL set to S/PDIF. In the OUTPUTS page of the POD X3 Pro, set your S/PDIF outputs settings in the Studio Direct Mix menu, and MATCH DIG IN for RATE.
  5. Deutsch Français Important Notes: These instructions also apply to POD HD400 and POD HD300 and their associated editors. It is highly recommended that these updates are installed in a specific sequence. Please see the installation notes* below. Bug Fixes These updates address a bug which allows invalid data to be introduced to presets. The invalid data is caused by asynchronous communication between the POD HD/HD500/HD Pro hardware device and the POD HD/HD500/HD Pro Edit software application. In rare instances, recalling presets containing invalid data may cause intermittent high volume events. Installing POD HD/HD500/HD Pro firmware v2.62 and POD HD/HD500/HD Pro Edit v2.26 prevents invalid data from being introduced into presets. During synchronization between POD HD/HD500/HD Pro and POD HD/HD500/HD Pro Edit, the hardware displays a ‘Sync In Progress’ message and does not respond to any buttons or knobs until synchronization is complete. Additionally, any presets which contain invalid data are reset to an initialized state. These presets are easily identified as ‘New Tone (Reset)’. *Installation Notes Please follow these steps sequentially: Disconnect any audio connections to the POD HD/HD500/HD Pro, connect to the computer via USB and save a preset Bundle, Set Lists, or individual presets from POD HD/HD500/HD Pro Edit v1.06 (if you do not wish to save any existing presets you may skip this step) Quit the POD HD/HD500/HD Pro Edit app and launch Line 6 Monkey to install POD HD/HD500/HD Pro Edit v2.26 Complete the POD HD/HD500/HD Pro Edit installation and launch Monkey once again to install POD HD/HD500/HD Pro Flash Memory v2.62 During the installation, Monkey will ask if you want to keep your presets, click ‘No’, and complete the installation following the on-screen instructions. On the POD HD500, you *must* reset the global setup options which includes resetting the Setlist names and pedal calibration by: Disconnect the USB cable connection between HD500 and host computer. Power off the POD HD500. Power on the POD HD500 while holding the LEFT ARROW [*] If you do not do this, one of the tell-tale symptoms that may surface after a Monkey Flash Memory update is that the HD500 will be stuck in a continuous re-boot/power cycling state (you'll keep seeing the Logo and the unit keeps re-starting itself). Sometimes this may not occur, but a secondary telltale sign that a user has not performed a Global Settings reset is the USB communication between the HD500 and HD500 Edit software will be extremely slow/sluggish. ***NOTE: Please also make sure to re-calibrate the onboard expression pedal of the HD500 after performing the Global Settings reset. Instructions: How to calibrate the POD HD500X\HD500 Expression Pedal. [*]Launch POD HD/HD500/HD Pro Edit to restore any saved presets. **Please note that any previously saved presets that were corrupted in any way will be discarded and set to New Tone (Reset) once imported into POD HD/HD500/HD Pro Edit 2.00. Ces presets ressemblent à ceci: "New Tone (Reset)". 6. POD HD Flash Memory v2.62 RELEASE NOTES POD HD v2.62 is a FREE firmware update that includes additional features and optimizations. It is highly recommended that all POD HD users perform this update! It is also recommended that you back up your current presets by using POD HD Edit to create a preset bundle, allowing you to include installing new presets as part of the update process. The easiest way to perform the update process is by installing the latest version of Line 6 Monkey. Once you've connected your POD HD to your computer via USB port (hubs are not supported), Monkey will recognize the unit and take you through the update process. It's important to update both the USB Firmware (1.04) and Flash Memory (2.62). The Line 6 Monkey application may be downloaded here. What's New? Global EQ - Global EQ is used for compensating for the wide disparity in acoustic environments on tour or when traveling from studio to studio, and is applied to all setlists and presets. Global EQ features three fully parametric bands plus variable low and high cut filters. To access Global EQ: Press and hold the VIEW button to open the Setup Menu. Using the four-way, cursor right until you see the Global EQ screen. 7. Hello everyone! I'm having issues getting Helix Native to pan in order to run a different signal path to the right and left. I would like to take one mono clip and, in one instance of Helix Native, split it left and right. When I pan Helix Native's "Host Output" hard right, it will always be silent on playback, when I pan it hard left, it gets slightly quieter but will still play at an equal volume on both speakers. I can have the track panned hard left, hard right or center in Logic Pro's track editor, and these results are always the same when I make the changes within Helix Native's "Host Output": Silent when hard panned right, loudest at center, slightly quieter at hard left. Here are some pictures of my signal chain and host output that I'm referring to, could I be overlooking anything?
  8. I was recording on my Pod hd pro x yesterday on my guitar(as i have countless of time before). Suddenly today it stops working. The device turns on and I can hear sound from my computer, but it won't get any signal from my guitar. Not even the tuner. I checked my guitar and the wires. I have no idea what happened or changed. I would really appreciate some direction.
  9. Hi, I've got a used Pod XT Pro which is connected to to Focusrite Scarlett 18i20 (1Gen) via S/PDIF. The problem is, that I do not know/understand how to setup both devices to get the signal from POD to Scarlett. The Scarlett is configured using MixControl SampleRate 41.1kHz Sync Source S/PDIF Sync Status Locked USB Driver Connected ASIO Buffer Size 6ms The POD XT Pro is setup using I/O & Dig Select Input Guitar Format 41.1kHz 24 Bit Mode Normal Gain +0db Having plugged a guitar in I see the signal led flashing. I also get a signal on the DI Out which I also connected the interface using 1/4inch. In MixControl I can see the level meters receiving signal on the analog input, but not on the S/PDIF ones. When I change the POD to 'Match S/PDIF' in the IO Select, still no signal can be received. When I restart the POD with this setting it gives a message saying: "CANNOT LOCK TO INPUT. WAIT FOR RE-CLOCK OR PRESS ANY BUTTON TO SELECT GUITAR IN AND 44.1kHz 24 BIT OUT." Can anyone help me out here, how to setup this correctly. Many thanks Sebastian
  10. Hi I have downloaded some official pod farm Polyphia patches they used on their album. I tried loading these onto my POD X3 Pro but I am getting the "Unrecognized Driver. Your Pod X3 Pro will be ignored" issue in gearbox. I've spent days trying to get them to load with no success. I was hoping someone that had pod farm could load the patches for me and send me the settings used so I can manually set them up on my POD? I will be happy to share the patches with you but have no way myself of loading and viewing the settings. Let me know if you are interested and your email address and ill send these through. Regards
  11. I'm using the latest updates on OSX, drivers, softwares and helix and you know, everything. When reamping helix in logic the audio starts to cut and pop and mess up after a while. First a little and gradually more and more. It helps when I initialize the core audio from preferences > audio settings. The I/O buffer is at full 1024 Why do I have to keep doing this? It does kill the workflow and sometimes recording the reamp is ruined.
  12. So... I'm a little new to this equipment:) I currently have a Line 6 half stack (Spider 2 150w) and a Marshall MG half stack. If I purchase one of the Line 6 Pods (looking at XT Pro).....am I able to output to both of the amps simultaneously.....or can I only output to one amp. Sorry if the answer is obvious.....I've looked through the online manual....but the answer wasn't jumping out at me:) Thanks!! Jamie
  13. Does anyone else have an issue with the POD HD Pro X (or other POD versions) overwriting patches seemingly randomly? This has happened to me on multiple occasions and it's kind of annoying when the only way to get the patch back is to restore it to defaults. I don't want to have to keep doing this. It seems like it happens when switching from one Set List to another, but there might be other factors, and it happens so sporadically that I am only just now coming to this conclusion after having the device for almost 3 years. For example, say I'm in the "User 2" on patch 5D. Then I switch to the "Best of HD" setlist and the 5D from "User 2" will now be the 5D there. Does this happen to anyone else? Is there a solution for it? It's really annoying and seems like something that should be patched.
  14. Hello guys, I just bought the POD HD Pro X and I have a problem. The patches I downloaded from youtube people (Ola Englund, Fluff) and the patches I bought from a guy that sound awesome in their demos sound very harsh, thin and have no punch at all on my device. (They all used the HD Pro, does that matter? but USB aswell and no post processing) I use a Schecter Hellraise C-1 with active EMGs (and have the PAD button pressed), USB connection, headphones (monitors already ordered) and a PC with WIndows 10 and all Line 6 drivers installed. 15. My HD pro has started this thing where regardless of whether I use speakers or headphones there is a crackling sound in the left output every few seconds during playback and recording. Need advice ASAP!
  16. Hi All, I'm having a problem with using my POD HD Pro for recording into Garageband that just recently began to persist and I have yet to find a solution for it. I'll describe my situation below, please help me if you can. Thanks! Setup: POD HD Pro Rack Garageband Macbook Pro (late '08/'09) OS X v10.10 (Yosemite) I normally record guitars and bass through my POD HD Pro rack and have just recently run into a problem with it. Usually, I'll plug in my POD via USB and in Garageband, it'll play through both sides of my headphones. Then, just a couple days ago, when I would pop the tuner on, tune up, then tap the tuner back off, the sound would be completely gone, not monitoring at all when there was just sound. So I would close my session, power off my POD, unplug, replug and turn it back on. Then it would work until I used the tuner again. I repeated this process a couple of times and then my POD began to only monitor through the right channel of Garageband. If I would pan the track hard left, there would be absolutely no sound. If I panned hard right, there would be the same amount of sound on the right from 100%-0% pan. Additionally, I removed the POD from the audio track and switched my input to the laptop's microphone and it monitors through both headphones as normal. Any ideas on why this is happening? I've plugged my headphones into the POD directly and it monitors through both sides of my headphones perfectly. Any help on this issue is much appreciated. Is it possible that a USB output setting on the POD glitched off by accident? Thanks, Erik
  17. Is it possible to update the firmware on the DT25 by using the Pod HD Pro via MIDI cables? I don't see the Pod in my computer MIDI devices...
  18. I'm using my POD HD Pro for live but when switching tones there is too big of a delay when I stomp on the fbv express mkii.... (doesn't sound natural.. takes too long to switch tones) Is there anyway to fix this?
  19. I plugged my POD HD Pro in today and noticed I had updates to my driver and flash memory. It has been about a month since I updated so I was able to do the Driver update with out any issues. The flash memory I wish I could say the same. The first update said it timed out. The second one crashed my computer and some how my POD. Now when I turn the POD on it is frozen on one of my presets and I am getting no sound from my cab. The flash memory update continues not to work either so I guess what I'm asking is what the hell do I do now? For the record my driver is 4.2.7.1 and my flash memory reads as "unknown". I would appreciate any help here. Thanks.
  20. They appear on my pod but not in hd pro x edit. Help?
  21. I have a pod hd pro and i downloaded the new metal hd pack today and basically i was trying out the new amps and when ever i put an EQ in the post area it goes all crackly sounding and lollipop. anyone know what this is?
  22. So the PODs LED indicators for clip and signal are always on, even with no instruments or anything attached. Has anyone else encountered this problem? I've cycled through all of my patches and have used clean slates, but nothing seems to get those lights to stop coming on.
  23. So I use an m-audio midiport to change my pod's patches during live shows. However when a patch changes, there is a small interruption of sound (for about half a second) which sounds bad in the mix... Is there a way to make the change faster? If not, I basicly change between rythm and lead patches, so can I change some parameters of the patch (like turning pedals on/off. or amp settings) using MIDI signals? I just want to make our live sound as perfect as it can get...
  24. I bought my pod hd pro X from thomann 2 months ago and it was just fine, untill the last few weeks. Randomly, while I use the Pod as a soundcard for my Windows PC the Pod doesn's seemsto respond to the window's sound while my guitar still sounds Ok on the monitors. This will continue to happen until I restart. Its really, REALLY annoying! I guess it's a windows issue but i don't know how to fix it. Help??
  25. So I just got the FBV Shortboard MkII a couple of days ago and I've figured most of it out but I can not for the life of me figure how to get the tap tempo to work with a delay that I have on my Pod Hd Pro X. I've figured out how to assign certain effects to my shortboard but I just can't get the tap tempo to work. Thanks in advance for anyones help!
