  1. Hello POD experts! :) I have a POD X3 Live which I bought about 4-5 years ago. Maybe 2 years ago I stopped playing it, because I somehow wasn't happy with its sound. Now I have used a POD 2.0 of a friend of mine and I found the sounds great! Compared to them my X3 Live Sounds are a lot thinner and less powerful - the basses are too weak somehow and the higher frequencies it is not so defined. (that is true for any of the sounds - also for the preset ones) Do you guys have any idea what might be the reason for that? I guess the X3 Sounds should actually be at least as good as the POD 2.0 sounds... I already tried to use earlier versions of the Flash memory, but that didn't change anything. I appreciate any advice that could be helpful here! Cheers! Airbus
  2. Hello. I have a problem with the release of CustomTone presets, as most are settings may gain an amount which, according to my judgment, is little. Many of these presets, are made by people who uploaded videos to YouTube, and in those videos, presets sound great, but in my guitar I have to increase the gain too much with the problems this entails. My guitar has pickups Bill Lawrence XL500, and all electrical installation and cables are in perfect condition. I would appreciate any help.
  3. Hi. Recently my Spider II 75 amp head has not been making any sound when the guitar is plugged in. I have checked the cab with another head and the cab is working fine. I've also ruled out the possiblity of it being a problem with leads/guitars etc. The lights on the head work fine and it plays music when i plug an mp3 player into the mp3 input, however when i plug the guitar in it wont make any sound. I've taken the head part apart and there doesnt seem to be any obvious problems inside. Anyone have any ideas what this could be?
  4. Hi, I am experiencing a very important issue with my flextone III During the last 30 days it just restarts... first I thought maybe it was the power cable and it doesnt connect well. Tried a different cable but the problem persists... Yesterday it stayed off for some time before it could power again. When I turned down the switch the normal sound on the back clicked, if this does help, and after a while I could power the amp again. I now dont know what to do, I use this amp for gigs and I dont what this to happen during a show... I was lucky enough that it didnt happened on my last gig a couple of weeks ago!
  5. Hi! Recently I had a problem with the USB of POD HD 500. I was one of the unfortunately that bought the pod with the fragile USB and mine broke, as some other users have the same problem http://line6.com/support/topic/2633-podhd500-drivers-wont-install-on-mac/?hl=%2Busb+%2Bbroken&do=findComment&comment=17606. I took it to the support and they replaced with a new one, but the problem is that it's not working. When I enter in the configuration, it is written on the information: USB FW: V0.00. I think the problem is this, but I don't have any idea how I can update the usb firmware. Anyone could help-me?
  6. I've owned my M13 for 2 years now and I absolutely love it.. My favorite multi-fx unit by far. I've never had any problems with it (besides replacing the power adapter 1 week ago) until yesterday. I went to band practice and rigged my M13 up like usual and turned it on and everything was acting normal as usual but when I plugged my guitar and started playing the weirdest things started happen.. 1.) The M13 doesn't give me any fx at all ! If I turned on the delay = no delay.. If I turned the distortion = no distortion.. If I turned on the chorus = no chorus. You get the point... Whatever FX I put on the M13 would just give me a clean signal.. The FX shows up on the LCD screens like usual and M13 showes them like they are ON but I only get a clean signal. The M13 looks like it's working just right but it doesn't produce any effects at all. 2.) Every time I change effects my signal dropps out for about 1 second and these terrible clicks and pops follow when the signal gets back in.. And when the signal comes back in it's always a clean signal. It never adds the effects I turn on to the signal. I've tried 3 different guitars, 3 different amps, 6 different jack cables, 2 brand new Line 6 power adapters and the unit in 3 different houses but the it's always the same. I only get clean signal from it, no effects whatsoever. I always connect my amp to the mono output on the M13 and then from the mono M13 input to my guitar. I had the 2.04 firmware installed when this happened and I did a factory reset hoping it would fix the problem but it didn't. I've already sent the unit for repairs to the guy here in Iceland that's working for the company that sells Line 6 products but he already told me that he doesn't believe he can fix this.. He said it must have something to do with the digital part inside (the computer) and he isn't able to fix that. So what should I do ? Can you guys think of any solutions or fixes for this problem ? - Fannar
  7. I got a Pod HD300 and I have been really happy with it for like 2 months , a short while back , I downloaded some custom tones and when I was opening the in pod edit it suddenly stopped working , when I reopened it , It wouldnt recognize my HD300 anymore , all the other programs recognize my Pod , I even recorded some EP tracks with it , its just Pod edit now for additional information : I tried fixing it using monkey and I ran into something really weird line 6 monkey doesnt recognize my Flashdrive firmware (but its there in my pod ) and it wont let me reinstall it ! I might take a screenshot for additional info the question is : how do I fix this and get the pod edit to recognize my device again?
  8. I am new to the forums but I have a serious problem. My Line 6 GX toneport has been making weird crackling\distorted sound. It is continuous in other amp simulators and recording software so I am sure it is the GX and not Pod Farm. I do use Asio4all so that also may be the problem. If anyone knows how to fix this please help.
  9. Hi Guys, Would need your help to verify if you guys also experience the same issue. I seems to have a weird old rotary phone like noise coming out of my amp when i turn the EQ knob especially on the treble knob, and especially obvious on topology II,III or IV, when you turn up the channel volume up to at least close to 12 oclock or beyond and considerable amount of master volume. Can anyone of you guys verify if you have the same issue? I try bypassing my pedals where my guitar goes direct into/ infront of the amp and still the same issue. It is more prevalent when you turn the volume and master real loud. Without playing any note, guitar volume knob still up, muted the strings, while turning the treble eq knob, gave the dialing sound. A low-midrange kinda "dub dub dub dub dub dub" like noise. I call up the tech shop , authorize dealer for Line 6 where i bought the amp from, and they said it might be the motherboard or IC issue. I just bought this amp 3 days ago and now this issue? I really hope the guy is wrong. Hope any of u guys can assist here. Thanks
  10. Im rewriting this post because im still having problems with my tone. I've gone through all the suggestions and nothings changed. The outputs is Studio/Direct and im using a low gain yet im still getting horrible fuzz over the top, ruining any clarity that was there. Here's a raw clip of the tone im getting: This particular clip was recorded with a cheap guitar but i have the same problem with any guitar i use! https://soundcloud.com/dan-kav/lollipop-tone If anyone can tell me why my tone is coming out at such bad quality i'd be extremely grateful!
  11. I have downloaded some cool tones that people used and I was impressed pod hd300 can make such awesome tones , so when i got mine and I used their presets they sounded entirely different , the sounds are overly bassed and the palm mutes are either too loud or inaudible either way its problematic , I first thought The diffrence was due to my pickup difference but when I used The same equipment as the other guy did I found out the problem presists I am now thinking some of my hardware settings are messed up I want my HD300 to sound like theirs , please HELP! I have downloaded the tone from this youtube link : and you all can see how cool it sounds and this is my sound : https://www.dropbox.com/s/ht9nkszxdww0le3/riffs%20mesa%20boogie1.mp3 as you can see its nothing like that at all , please help
  12. For the longest time I have had huge problems with my Pod HD 500. I am constantly hearing excess and un-needed noise whenever I am playing on a clean patch (and I can only assume it is happening on distorted patches although you can't hear it). No matter what amp model I'm using, the noise is persistent. I always thought maybe the pickups on my guitar are too hot, but as a raise or lower the pickups, the problem still occurs, even if I enable the PAD switch. I do not believe the pod is clipping for I have the volume knob at about 60% and the mixer volumes (VOLUME A & VOLUME B) set at -5 db. I have all the latest updates and I honestly do not know what to do. I have recorded an example the sounds I am hearing so it can give a clearer indication of what I mean. I will post the link. I recorded a direct signal with a clean patch from the Pod to my interface. Then I recorded the same riff, but with everything on the signal chain disabled. Lastly I recorded my guitar directly into my interface. When it is the completely dry signal from my guitar, i do not hear any additional noise so I can only assume its my Pod. Please help. I am getting awfully fed up with this issue. Thanks Here is the recording: http://puu.sh/3rr3I Clean problems.mp3
  13. Hi there, Wow, long long time wothout posting here ;o) I am still the owner of a mark 1 SV 112 and still hppy with it. I never experienced the overheating DSP problem leading to neverending ressting of the amp, but it is true that I seldom used it at high volume for long periods of time. I only gigged twice with it and have played it in my personal home studio at home mostly. What I would have liked to know is if this problem is systematic with MK1 SVs or if it is completely random. I mean, have there been random series that have the problem and others that don't have it ? I have the Strymon SVPre that I installed when it came out and the DSP board is, it seems, the first make (Revision A from 2007). So far, I have never experienced the problem. If I ever do, I'll try to fix it with a heatsink on the overheating areas of the board, but I'd really like to know if this is a randomly happening problem. If not, I might have just got a series without the flaw and I'll be glad about it ;o) Thanks a lot for your answers. Jay
  14. Hi, I'm quite new to Line 6 POD gear and recording in general, and having a bit of a problem. I'm running my POD into a Tascam DP24, im using both outputs into the DP24? And the problem im having is that when i listen to my guitar through the headphone out of my POD it sounds great, but as soon as i record onto the Tascam it sounds very muddy, messy and slightly buzzy here and there, from either my monitors or headphones. And while that may seem like its the Tascam fault, when i record direct into the tascam using its built in amp simulator,it sounds obviously poorer in terms of realism, but it does sound some what clearer and a lot more defined than when i record with the POD. I understand that people might not no much about the Tascam, but just wondered if anyone might know if theirs anything i'm doing wrong with the POD. Any help will be much appreciated.
